Millenium Shield is much rarer than Labrynth Wall. Haha, that's cool that you have it. Anyway, it seems that most of you people don't know about the rarity system that's in the US version of the game. I just want to go over it so no one posts common cards again. From rarest to most common Secret Rare: Said to replace an Ultra rare in a box, comes in one out of three boxes (i.e., 1 out of 72 packs). Has rainbow lettering and rainbow holographic picture. There are always two different secret rares in a set, and one is only obtainable through the 36-count box set (but the rarity remains at 1 out of 72, so it would be 1 out of 2 boxes). You can get the other secret rare from a 36-count box, but you can't get this secret rare in a 24-count box. Example: Jinzo and Imperial Order. You can get IO in both a 24-count box or a 36-count one, but Jinzo is only obtainable in a 36-count box. Oh, and the 36-count box secret rare is always the one numbered 000 (i.e., PSV-000). Ultra Rare: Gold lettering and holographic picture. Super Rare: Normal lettering and holographic picture. Rare: Silver lettering and normal picture. SSP: Super-short production. These are commons, but they are harder to find because they tend to be better than your standard common. Examples: Solemn Wishes, Fairy Box, Collected Power, and Toll. SP: Short production. Also commons, these cards may work well in only one kind of deck, or appeared in the Yu-Gi-Oh! show. Examples: Gift of the Mystical Elf, The Eye of Truth, DNA Surgery, 4-starred ladybug of doom, and all +500 ATK elemental field cards (i.e., Luminous Sparks and Umiiruka). C: Common. You'll get these cards by the barrel-full, and they will suck almost every time. ********************** Aside from this standard rarity list, there are cards that fall out of all these categories because of how you obtain them. Promos (Promotional cards) are cards that were released to promote the sale of another item. Promos' value can range anywhere from above a Secret rare, to dirt-cheap. Highly-valued and sought-after promo cards are Red Eyes Black Metal Dragon, Harpie's Pet Dragon, MetalMorph, and Exodia the Forbidden One (the promotional one: DDS-003). Promos you can spit on are Acid Trap Hole, and... well... the rest are fairly wanted. Anyway, the next kind of cards can only be obtained by going to an official/sanctioned tournament, or illegally. Store owners cannot sell these tournament packs, but some still do because of how valued these cards are. Tournament packs (henceforth TP) have ultra rare, super rare, rare, and common cards. However, don't confuse these rarities with their consumable counterparts: these cards are VERY valuable. Besides having the probability of obtaining a rarer card increasing, you also only get 3 cards per TP. Pulling an ultra rare from a TP can guarantee you everything you need for your deck and then some. TP ultra rares sell for easily over 100, and I have seen an offer of 20 ultra rare cards for just one TP ultra rare. Super rares from TPs are exponentially less rare, but they are also MUCH more valuable than they appear. TPs are valued, so keep that in mind when you are trading them. Lastly, there is one small set that has an "iffy" value to it: Duelist League. So far, there are only two cards in the set: Thousand Eyes Restrict and Buster Blader (DL-2 and DL-1, I believe). These cards have an ultra rare appearance to them. The only way to obtain these cards is by joining a duelist league centering and fulfilling certain tasks, such as teaching little kids how to play. When you've done enough, and sent in all your information, you will get a DL card. It's weird like that, but some people have gotten up to 20 BB's just like this, so I don't consider their value to be much.

Yeah, episode 40 is already out... Anyway, if you are asking how many episodes there will be in total for the Naruto anime, then that's a BIG number. The manga is still going, and for the anime to catch up to the manga's current position, there would have to be... well, episode 40 is about volume 8 in manga, and the manga is at volume 20... That's roughly over 100 guaranteed episodes. If you are wondering, it's still airing on Japan Television. Naruto is my kind of anime. I don't know how else to describe it. It's about ninjas, and it's very cool. Put simply, it's about a boy with a wild ambition: to obtain the highest rank possible in his village and make all the people acknowledge his existence. It's a very dramatic story, IMO. Actions speak louder than words in this anime. You just have to see it to understand. Naruto is just that good. :p

Yes, it is extremely impressive for not only a first time, but also good enough to be in someone's sig.

Usually, if something wrong with you, they tell you immediately. However, if there's nothing wrong, what rush do doctors have to tell you that there's nothing wrong? I mean, I know there's that whole "peace of mind" factor that some doctors consider, but other doctors may be too busy to bother with that.

Anime I think the world controls more than Tsukasa...
AzureWolf replied to Squall's topic in Otaku Central
I never said Subaru was trapped physically. Read my post again. -
Go to a doctor! You should do that immediately! Constant reoccuring headaches can be caused by several things, and most of them are life-threatening or permanently damaging. If you get an occasional headache here and there, then it's a different story. However, if you have headaches that happen for an extremely long period of time and consistently return, then you better get yourself checked. Most common causes are cancer and stress.

Hey Sara, how come you never seem to have much color on your wallpapers. Granted, I've only seen two (the two you've posted on this thread), but it just seems kind of weird. It's not bad, but I'm just wondering why.

Learning how to play a new game isn't really something you can teach, and if you've only played FF RPGs, you've been missing out. I mean, if the controls are bothering you, all you can do is get used to it. If the gameplay is bothering you: again, "practice makes perfect." On the other hand, if you are having trouble on a particular aspect of a game, then you've got something other people can help you with.
Or if what everyone sees is different. My blue might be someone else's pink, and their pink might be someone else's purple. But when they say 'as blue as the sky', they still see another color. Maybe that's why people like different colors, because what they see is different, and... *trails off* x.x;;;;;
Haha, very impressive. So, I guess you are on the side of telepathy being impossible? This question is one of the reasons some scientists and "others" (i.e., the mental, psychoes, etc.) question if telepathy is real in the first place, nevermind a person actually having it. If all persons' thoughts and brain functioned differently, even just by a bit, it would be way too much for another person to handle. Haha, yeah, that's sidetracking too much...
If I woke up from this life, being it a dream, I couldn't live my real life. No way. I've gone through too much in this dream to go live in another life, that could be absolutely nothing like this life I'm living, or supposedly dreaming, now. It's not it being a dream that I fear, it's waking up in a completely different life, to the life I'm in now.
Are you kidding? It'd be great to live another life. Besides, you'd be refreshed from a very long dream. You would have slept like a rock, and ready to take on "reality!" In all seriousness, though, it's impossible to believe this life is a dream. Really, there are too many things in "my dream" that I would have never come up with myself.
My mom and grandparents keep telling me to get into Computer Science, but I have the math skills of a mentally challenged goldfish that mates like a rabbit and needs to fill out its tax forms without the aid of an accountant.
Yeah, not to butt into your future or anything, but I've noticed that Comp Sci seems to rely more on logic than math. In fact, the only math you seem to need is simple algebra. If you've got common sense, you can have a future in computer science. Why don't you take like one course of comp sci and see how it suits you?
I'm majoring in Genetics. I was thinking of pre-med, but then I changed my mind on being a doctor. I can't believe I'm going into a science field (YES I CAN! I am a science NUT!), but everyone always told me I needed to do art. Oh well...I guess Ryan can have all the fun doing that.
As long as your are not an engineering major, I think anything you choose is cool, especially if it is in science. Haha, in our school, there's just a running competition between who is (or needs to be) the smarter: a science or engineering major? I took up the challenge and took a few engineering courses. Haha, it requires a whole different kind of smarts! Yeah, any engineering majors around?

Assumptions of a Newbie (and other short stories)
AzureWolf replied to Doukeshi's topic in General Discussion
Newbies are new people who don't know things that are taken for granted in the forums they've registered in. They may not know things like how to insert smilies into posts, but some of them are completely new to message boards and need help. (When I went to a forum for the first time, I had no idea what the heck "lol" was and why everyone used it like it was an actual word, but I was too embarassed to ask.) The idiot people who spam, flame, make crude remarks, hurt people's feelings and just don't listen to advice, they're what I call lamers. They could have been in the forums since the day they opened, have billions of posts, gone through them with every server change and whatnot, but if they act the donkey, they're a lamer.
Yeah, actually, that is a good definition: someone who doesn't know the ropes. I didn't know a lot of the tricks people use here at OB, but I learned. How did I learn? I didn't SPAM by making a thread asking how, or anything of that nature. Instead, whenever I saw someone do a nifty trick that I didn't know how to do, I would just quote that post and see the code they used. Haha, that's how I learned how to use Spoiler tags and Strikeout tags! Now, I sit patiently, stalking every OBer's post, waiting for someone to use the rainbow/gradient text effect on something other than their sig... :D -
:D This thread has a cool idea. It's interesting to know what other people see you through. Anyway, here's mine. I have it set to rotate the style and wallpaper every time log on, so this is just one instance of my desktop. Haha, I have a dynamic desktop! Anyway, I had a Lord of the Rings style when I took the picture. EDIT: Oh yeah, I hate those little arrows on shortcut icons, so I got rid of them. Haha, just so you don't think I installed programs on my desktop!

Secret of Mana: I think that's the game everyone was thinking of. Anyway, that game was for Super NES, but they did make a few sequels, and I think one of them was on PSX (Legend of Mana?). Anyway, I know you don't like the standard RPG gameplay with people taking turns, but Final Fantasy 2 and FF3 are both 2 players. Haha, it's fun playing those RPGs with two players!

Anime Worst anime vocal song you've heard?
AzureWolf replied to Utena_Tenjou's topic in Otaku Central
Heh.. I know I love Naruto.. But I must say.. "Rocks" the first opening is poorly done.. It sounds all 80's... And it doesn't really make sense... "OOH I WANNA ROCKS!" Sounds like "OOH I WANNA WOKS!" *commits hara kiri for dissing his fav manga*
I thought both of the opening songs were fine. I mean, they weren't spectacular or great, but they were ok. You know what's really bad, and disturbing? That second ending, with the marrionette version of the two girls singing and moving very eerily. :shudders:, now that was bad... As for that "rocks" part, I don't find any problem with the way they say it. I do, however, find a problem with the grammar. Haha, it bothers you just as much as "Devil Never Cry!" "I wanna rocks" doesn't work on any level... I would have said the second Naruto ending, but looking at the Big-O lyrics, I have to say that looks to be the most annoying. And yeah, Solo Tremaine, I've never had much beef with the Yugioh or Pokemon songs, except that Johto (sp?) one (the third opening song, I believe). -
Most major ISPs supply you with 2 megs of FTP space, so you could always use that. I know, some people don't, but I thought that might help some people out.

I just finished my first year of college. I am currently a Chemical Biology major. That just means the study of Biology through a chemical approach, so I'm really just a Bio major. To give you an example of what that means, I've done HIV-1 research at UMDNJ, but I was dealing with reverse transcriptase, the chemical/enzyme that the HIV uses to break and rewrite RNA with. What ticks me off about that research was that no one would listen to anything I would say. I was arguing that there should be a way to make the infected RNA piece do nothing. Now, believe it or not, they are saying that descendants of Bubonic Plague survivors may actually be resistant to HIV's reverse transcriptase because the RNA coding in the targetted region does nothing (introns), or at least it seems that way so far. That's what I was saying, but NO, of course since I didn't have some fancy title, I couldn't be right... Haha, but then again, that was a whole other direction I wanted to go.
i will be going to college this fall and my major is fire/arson investigation along with criminal justice. i know personally i have always wanted to be a part of the action, probably due to loving james bond, and other action/espoinage movies. it evolved over the years from a police officer, to FBI, and CIA (or any other lettered agency ) but who knows what the future holds for me.
I just have to say, that's so cool. I remember that I wanted to be a cop, always saying "hi" to every cop I saw, knowing that they were good people (or so I thought, I was like 5). Haha, are you going to be one of those forensics people, or one of those investigators that goes around hunting for clues figuring things out? Both are cool, but you have to hand it to those who go out and put their life on the line... Currently, I'm reading this sci-fi mystery story (Kiln People), and it just gives you an even greater respect for people who do that line of work.
I'm majoring in interactive media, whatever that means.. Basically video production, audio production, web design, computer graphics, etc. I don't feel I'm great at any of these, but my favorite is definitely web design. I hope to get to do that at some point.
I always wanted to ask this: do you have to be good at hand-made art to major in computer graphics? Haha, I'm just curious: I would never pursue a career in art because I have no taste (reactions to my tastes: what? That's SO ugly! Why didn't you get the other one?).
My last major was Biochemistry...I don't know what I was on when I signed up for it. But I dropped that and took up Computer Science major with a concentration in Networking. While I do just fine in it, code does not get me fired up, especially if I'm going to be doing it for a very long time. So I got out of that and now I'm in English with a concentration in Creative Writing. I'm liking it so far, especially with the journalism class that I'm taking now.
I can't tell you how cool that is. Do you know how many great writers were originally aiming to become scientists, then dropped out of it in college and pursued writing? Haha, I'll look forward to your work. :)
Starting this September I will be going to Middle Georgia Technical College in Warner Robins where I live. I am going to get associate degrees (B average or higher)in Internet Specialist-Web Design, and Networking Specialist. Becuase of the High school I went to I was able to take 3 parts of my 7 quarters worth of work of Internet Specialist-Web Design and for Networking Specialist I already have 4 parts out of 7 quarters worth of work, I am not sure, but besides my core classes I think there are something around 15 parts in each one....so 4 and 3 doesn't give me much, but hey, I'll take it!
Normally, I consider myself good at math, but all those numbers make my head spin! :whoops: In a case where you have NO clue as to what is being said, the best thing to do is "smile and nod." :) Seriously, though, what does that mean? You'll have a lot of spare time to take other classes that aren't covered in your major?
My frosh year at Rutgers, I was a 3 week Comp Sci major. I was failing the Intro To Computer Science course and quickly realised that I most certainly suck at math and science, and Comp Sci would be the death of my academic career. So, I dropped the Comp Sci and picked up my English major. I'm doing very well in that, going into my junior year, have impressed quite a few of my English professors (and made friends with many of them), and have a very good chance of getting into the Teaching Assistantship program for Grad School in 2 years. The T.A. program waives Grad School tuition provided I teach a few Comp 101 courses, which isn't hard.
Rutgers?! That's awesome! Are you going to the New Brunswick or Newark one? I don't go there myself, but you should have a flood of kids from my school going their as the class of 2006. My sis even goes there. Anyway, I know how you feel. Fall semester, I had to take intro to comp sci, and the teachers and TA's were jerks. Every freshman was given a free laptop, running WinXP. So, what do they use to test and grade our programs? Why, an extremely old Unix computer system, of course! What other obvious choice is there? I had the programming stuff down, and it was fun, but you had to log into a unix server and check if your program worked there. Even if it did, though, there was still no guarantee that it would work on their Unix. And you get a zero for a grade if it doesn't. God only knows how I pulled a B in that class. Although I'm still ticked off at that grade, it makes you appreciate curves. :D Those of you who have language courses are lucky: my school doesn't offer any languages. :(

Haha, I can't stand Rachel. I rarely use her. I just gave her a ton of stuff until her affection was at max. The rest of the characters I try to use. Sometimes, I try to make a themed team, such as all twin blades, which was cool because everyone's rare weapon fit with their color (Moonstone: red and Natsume: green). Haha, I wasn't even thinking to do that when I gave them the weapons.

I figured our posts put together answered this mystery. We had these two posts in one of the episode review threads. Anyway, you'll remember when I start talking... After the latest episode, there is almost no doubt in my mind that this theory is correct. In episode 16, where we see
Tsukasa resurrecting
, after he's done screaming, the opening sequence from episode 1 seems to play all over again. I mean, it may have been a different location, but
Tsukasa was laying the same way, and he got up the same way
. Let's not forget that the same music was playing, meaning that the creators weren't just saving money by re-using animation. What does that mean? That means that it's possible that
Morganna/the voice did that to Tsukasa before
. It's perfectly possible that when Tsukasa first opened the treasure chest, that tablet came and the voice said the same thing, but
the guardian appeared and attacked Tsukasa
. That way, Tsukasa lost his immediate memory and therefore would not fully remember
what that evil voice did to him. In the lastest episode, she said she no longer needed him
, giving more reason to believe K.K.C.'s theory. Haha, good job, K.K.C.!

Unfortunately, I've only seen two female duelists ever: one online, and the other in a sanctioned tournament. To boot, these females are extremely flawed. The one I met at a sanctioned tournament played poorly, and was a bad sport. Bad combination. I saw her yelling at the little kid who beat her just before she left the store. The second is an extremely good duelist, one of the best, I dare say. However, she's got an extremely large ego, so it's not necessarily a good thing to compliment her... :blackeye: On the up side, my sister plays, but only because she thinks some of the cards look pretty. What's funnier is that she won't put any "ugly" cards in her deck, like trap hole. Haha, it would be a nice change to see more female duelists because I don't want to stereotype them with what little I've seen.

Assumptions of a Newbie (and other short stories)
AzureWolf replied to Doukeshi's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, newbie doesn't seem to bother anyone. However, I still think the amount of posts to become something else is ridiculously large. I mean, shouldn't 100 be enough to be not considered a newbie? If you have made 100 posts that didn't get you banned, then you should be considered a junior member. Haha, maybe I'm just complaining because of my position! :D -
OOC: Don't worry, K.K.C., after this post, everyone will know about grunties and can participate. :) Don't confuse this stuff with the stuff in the games, though. It's not the same. ;) Azure, Tonkz, and Felix arrived in Dun Loreiag. OOC: That's the field that Bear and Mimiru are usually chatting at, where Mimiru waited for Tsukasa that one time. Azure stretched. "Alright, let's get our grunties!" Azure shouted, clenching his fist. As they were heading to the farms, an ordinary Wavemaster approached them. "Uh, excuse me, but-" Azure interjected, "Oh, a newbie. Boy, what an original get-up. What do you want, kid?" The Wavemaster gave a brief look, then shook his head. "Uh, yeah... About the grunt-" Azure again interrupted, "Oh, grunties! Haha, you wanna know how to raise 'em and race 'em, don't ya? Well, you've asked the right guy. Other players would probably PK (player kill) you for asking such a newbie-ish question. Not me, though, because I am the AzureWolf!" Azure pointed at himself with his thumb. "But-" "Hush! Pay attention kid, or else you aren't going to learn how to use grunties! Here's how it works: Grunties can usually be found in towns, but the special and rare ones are hidden in dungeons or dungeon fields. When you find a grunty, you should bring it to a farm and start raising it. Food can be found in several areas, but the best food is also hidden in dangerous places. You gotta search high and low for those rare grunty goods! My personal favorite is piney apple. :D Keep in mind that a balanced nutrition is required to make strong and agile grunties. Because grunties are left in farms, grunties cannot move from town to town: whatever grunty you've raised in Dun Loreiag, you can only use in Dun Loreiag. Both newbies and grunty veterans use Dun Loreiag, so it's a very nice place to start and to learn more about grunties. However, racers sometimes prefer towns such as Carmina Gadelica for it's flat lands, because they can see just how fast their grunties are. On the other hand, there are some hackers who can bypass this rule and move their grunties from town to town simply by riding them through chaos gates (those circley blue things you enter from). When you are raising a grunty, the outcomes are limitless. No one knows how many kinds of adult grunties are possible, but your grunty's adult form will be based on what you feed it and how you treat it. Also, the grunty you find might be special in some way, and have some special attribute that won't appear until you raise them into an adult. That's why every grunty should be treated individually. Raise your grunty with care, and then train them to win races! If you want to see some great grunties, you can come with me. I've got an iron grunty: it's got armor all over itself to run over the competition! I also have a new flying grunty that I wanna try out! Haha, I can't believe there's such a thing as a flying grunty! It's gotta be rare! Then again, I really never go to any town besides Mac Anu and Dun Loreiag..." The Wavemaster gave a stern look, and rolled his eyes when Azure finally finished, "Yeah, that's great, but-" "What?! Still don't get it after that amazing explanation?! Oh, you are wondering who's the best racer in The World, huh? Well, technically, Balmung of the Azure Sky has the fastest time in all the towns, but, just between you and me, I'm WAAAY be-OOF!" The Wavemaster punched Azure in the stomach. "Hey, samurai Talks-A-Lot, I just was politely telling you that the grunty farms are closed in Dun Loreiag. Maintenance." Azure looked up, letting go of his stomach. "Huh? Then what are those guys doing." Azure pointed to the grunty racers. The Wavemaster took a quick glance behind, and then narrowed his eyes. ":therock: Those are hackers who are racing with their hacked grunties. Since it's unofficial, there's no prize. Heh, who's the newbie now?" The Wavemaster walked past Azure's party. Azure scratched his head, ":bluesweat Heh, I guess we'll have to go to Carmina Gadelica for our race." Azure took one last look around, and noticed two well-hacked characters that were outside of the crowd, away from the rest of the players. Seemed like they were having an important discussion, but what struck Azure more was their strength. They seemed to be experienced and powerful players who knew their way around. "Hmm... we should gather more players for our race." Azure gestured towards the two characters. Felix pushed Azure aside, "I'll take care of it! These are girls, so you know they'll say yes to me! :D" Azure questioned, "Don't you have a girlfriend?" Felix laughed, "I'm just inviting these two beautiful players to our race." Felix turn around and headed towards the two suspicious characters. "Ladies!!!" Azure turned to Tonkz. "Yeah, we better head to Carmina Gadelica. This is going to be ugly. We'll see him after he's done getting killed."
Oh ok, .hack//A.I. Buster (novel) .hack//SIGN .hack//Infection, Mutation, Outbreak, Quarantine (games) .hack//Liminality .hack//Dusk (takes place 5 years after the games) Thank you *goes and looks for the novel*
Actually, hold on to your money for just a sec. Your question was:
Ok should I watch .hack//SIGN then //DUSK then Liminaty? Does it matter?
The answer you got was Project .hack in chronological order (although someone forgot to put .hack//ZERO in between SIGN and the games). Anyway, you are just going to miss a lot and waste time trying to watch .hack, going by the timeline. It's better that you just watch what the US is showing/offering as they show/offer it. More .hack stuff is added here and there (like .hack//ZERO), so it's impossible to do things chronologically. It's better that you just watch/play/read with the timeline in mind.

Anime (US/CAN) General thoughts and ratings for .hack//SIGN 20, "Tempest"
AzureWolf replied to Shy's topic in Otaku Central
Whoa! First episode 19, and now this. Haha, things are picking up (well, with only six more episodes, I guess they have to)! The ending floored me. Just that simple. Animation at it's best right there, with Tsukasa's hands releasing the wand. You really thought that there was some kind of force moving and controlling Tsukasa, especially with the subtle/futile resistances Tsukasa made (the shaking and what-have-you). I'm not an animator, but I think that took a lot of skill to create the "invisible force" effect so perfectly. Haha, did anyone else get a bad feeling after that scene where Tsukasa and Subaru go to that place and
find Aura missing
? Man, I got it in the pit of my stomach, especially when the wind came. Subtle craft of the creators strikes again.
Hey! I have a whole new theory! No, it not on what happened to Tsukasa, It was about the conversation with Crim and Bear (The stupid question also made me laugh)So, Crim starts out asking Bear if he can ask a stupid question, and then asks how old Bear is. Bear says he will soon be 47, then Mimiru gets blasted "Your as old as my Dad!?" Then Crim got into the conversation of well... getting older. And said That in every great man there is a kid. Or something like that. Anyways, my new theory is that Crim is around the age of 21-23(I say 21!) and had recently graduated from collage! The things he said sounded like what a collage or graduated student would say (like the stupid question part) Im thinking hes probably 21 because my dad went to business school and graduated in that from one year. But I dont know much about collage. Well, thats my thats my new theory ^^
Yeah, they gave Crim's age away with that scene, even though I always thought he was that old, since he had a job but was so active.
When Tsukasa brought Subaru to that little place he always goes, and that little girl seemed to have disappeared, which I thought was quite odd since we haven't seen her move in a single episode. Where could she have of gone!?
I don't think the little girl moved herself, as that wouldn't make much sense. I think that the evil (B.T.-level evil, dare I say) voice moved her. Haha, If you think it was just a voice that can't move anything, the ending speaks for itself. :) She's perfectly capable of moving objects, and she does a good job of moving people, even when they don't want to go, IMO. :D EDIT: Yeah, I'd just like to add another element about the music. I mean, I didn't notice it at the time, but in retrospect, the music's subtle pacing got your heart up (just a little) when watching the ending. There was that repetitive (but nice, IMO) "ding" sound over and over, and it had an effect on your heart pace. Anyone else notice it, or am I just psychaotic? -
Maybe I'm just being nit-picky (since it technically is a picture), but do smilies count as picture in your banner? Don't know why I'm asking. :D
