::cracks knuckles:: Alright, I always love talking about the series. These are all spoilers if you haven't played the video games. Anyway, let's do this thing. :)
How about the fact that Kain threw Raziel into The Lake Of The Dead making him suffer eternally until he was saved by The Elder God.
Raziel's bright enough to know that this event needed to occur for Kain's brilliant plan. Kain knew the events of the future, and while Raziel did not know that when he was thrown into the abyss, he did find out about it at the end of SR1. Kain actually had care and concern for Raziel, but he barely shows it until the end of SR2. Continuously, Kain taunts at Raziel's ideas of free will, forcing Raziel to question his own actions over and over. In the end of SR2, you learn that EVERYTHING was already scripted, and that Raziel had done every action that he, as a pawn, was meant to do-except to kill Kain at the instant of that distortion (with the two reavers, when Kain says, "If you truly believe in free will, prove it now," handing Raziel the reaver). Two reavers, creating a paradox, allowed history to change, but not without the help of Raziel's free will, which he struggled to choose. That is the reason why you only see Morpheus, the seer of time, scared once, which is right after this event.
And by saving Raziel from the infinite time loop he caused a distortion in time(When Kain yelled out "The Hlyden!") And Blood Omen 2 did happen before Soul Reaver 1 and 2(story-wise that is).
Yeah, the reason why Kain yells, "The Hilden!" at the end of SR2 is because of Kain's new memories. BO2 refers to one of Kain's newly shuffled memories, where he loses the Soul Reaver to a Hilden Knight disguised as a human(which never happened originally). He urges Raziel, "Yanos must not be resurrected!" You do not hear his warning, and we see what becomes of Yanos because of his revival (Hilden's source of power), and we have yet to see what else becomes of him (when he falls into the Hilden's dimension). So, BO2's events happen in the past, but they are a direct result of Kain stopping the loop in SR2. They are Kain's memories, but only because Kain and Raziel finally made an unscripted event log.

::remembers video trailer available at official website, forcing drool:: Uh... give me a minute ::continuously wipes drool:: There, ahem, yes, I have seen the mentioned game, AND I CAN'T WAIT! I remember how I first got into the legacy of kain series: a simple DC rental (Soul Reaver 1), but the story was so epic, rivaling that of popular books, and the gameplay was pretty out-of-the-ordinary for me (before SR, I've never killed badguys by any means besides beating them down :)). It was so clever, as there was always a way to kill your enemies: you just had to find it. Question about your comment:
but why would Raziel and Kain be at odds with each other? Kain saved Raziel from an infinite loop at the end of SR2.
That really bites about the weapons, since they were more fun to use than the Reaver, but you could pick up anything in BO2 after you got it, so I could see where they are coming from. Maybe they are just referring for Kain? It might be possible that Raziel will still be able to pick up items since his reaver is ethereal. I sure hope so... One thing that really ticked me off was how people reviewed Blood Omen 2, always saying it happened before SR1 and SR2, which showed that the reviewer was not in a position to actually review the game. Anyway, to stay on track, on Eidos' official website, there's a mailing list you can sign up for, as well as a trailer (at least I think there is).

Ah, but Fiasco, remember: "To refuse praise reveals a desire to be praised twice over." ~ Duc de la Rochefoucauld What I would easily change is my laziness. I mean, I would want to get rid of it. I study/work so little, and I'll throw away time by being online, reading, or playing video games. Haha, the hardest part isn't starting, but not to constantly lose your attention! ::Starts cleaning:: Oh, better clean my computer, but while I am at it... :bluesweat

Damn... it sure is lonely here in the day! (and morning)
AzureWolf replied to a topic in General Discussion
Mostly it's work, but I think it also has to do with time zones. I'm in the Eastern one, so people in the pacific seem nocturnal to me. For me, I'm only online when I'm not doing anything else, which, unfortunately, is most of the time during the summer. I guess there's also people like me who aren't on OB, but just on their regular websites. Personally, that would be Penny Arcade, Kongming's Archives, Crab-Ball :D, and CQN. -
Indeed, the MUTATION ending is very dramatic. The only reason it took you twenty hours, Black_Phoenix, is probably because you didn't use Ap Do (speed charm) to go through all the stages. It takes only ten hours then, so it is feasible in one day.

Anime That card you're really looking forward to
AzureWolf replied to DeathBug's topic in Otaku Central
Every card destroyed by this monster is not sent to the Graveyard, but to the top of your opponent's Deck. Nice. A forced Sword of Deep Seated effect on every card, which stops them from drawing, more or less.
Hmmm... That sounds too powerful. What's it's # of stars and ATK, out of curiousity? Haha, you better not hope that the monster destroyed is magician of faith though. :p -
Anime What would you do with youself if "The World" were real?
AzureWolf replied to Braidless Baka's topic in Otaku Central
Easily Mac Anu (Ä), even though they don't have grunties. :( It's just so nice and calming there: the water, the environment, the music, and then there's the whole sunset scene. :)
My goal would be to master being a Wavemaster and move to a LongArm,HeavyBlade,TwinBlade etc. and master all the different classes.
By master, do you mean play, or actually perfect to being one of the best? If you mean the latter, you are really dedicated!
I would go to the desert alot and Carmina Gatalika (sp?) The desert seems to be where Long arms hang out (Crim)
Yeah, that seems like a place to train. I wonder where that is... But my favorite kind of dungeons would be the ones that look like castles (Like the one Mimiru and A-20 went through). -
::finished drooling over new .hack DVD that contained Castle episode:: I know this comment sounds pretty pointless, but I think Tsukasa's Japanese voice actor did a better scream for Tsukasa's "death": it was more emotionally appealing, plus it a really awesome echo effect! :D
From AnimeNation: The American release of the fourth .Hack RPG for the Playstation 2 will include a series collector's box to hold all 4 games. Bandai Entertainment is not directly involved in the American release of the video games, so there are no plans for Bandai Entertainment to release the .Hack OAVs separate from the video games. The American .hack//SIGN DVDs will include the bonus Japanese episodes 27 & 28.
Oh joy! 27 AND 28? That's awesome! I wonder if the rumors of a 29th episode are true, and if we are getting that one! And that .hack game box is just icing on the cake! That's three boxes! Oh, how o' how can I contain my joy?! :D

Torriential Tribute Basically the theme is all out *****-woopalization with the limitations of the English CCG.. Maxed out m/t removal, rather in a JP deck I would use the Mage Knight Breaker, here I have to improvise and use a Nobleman of Extermination(gets rid of multiple Wabokus). Basically stapled out..and has no weaknesses..
Yeah, I have to give you credit for this deck: it really is good (If I ever reinstall YVD, I'd love to duel you :smirk: ). It's set so, just in case Kuriboh hit the field via CJ or something, you've got a backup so your opponent's one-hit kill fails. Haha, I was the first to use kuriboh in my area, and when everyone saw me stop a Jinzo with 50 equips (exaggeration, but the opponent used all his cards to power-up and bring out Jinzo, and then finished his hand to clear the field), everyone started using it. My turn, change of heart. :D I recommend taking out Nobleman of Extermination and putting in Delinquent Duo. Hey, removing cards is great, but how about you don't even give them a chance to play the card? ;) Also, I know this may sound ludicrous, but see how taking out one Graceful charity works. I mean, all of your cards are good, and discarding four must really hurt. My suggestion as a replacement: Dark Necrofear (put those dead kuriboh's in the grave to good use) (EDIT: ugh, actually, you only have EXACTLY 3 fiends, so I guess you should try putting something else :) ). Lastly, replace prevent rat with wall of illusion, unless everyone in your store has high-hitters like you do. Of course, even then, I say you give it a shot. Hope that helps!

I liked both equally, since both fit just as well as the other. However, even though both voice actors fit, Crim is so different between Japanese and English. Still, it's not like it's badly done.

My favorite place would probably be my home, but since you seem to be asking for a bigger location, I would have to say Toronto, Canada. Man, it's so clean and beautiful! It's a refreshingly nice place compared to where I live! You could walk at night or in the morning: both are invigorating experiences. My only beef with Toronto was with the plastic bags at their Shoprite: they actually charge you if you want them, but not for cardboard boxes (boxes are the standard). This method surprised me, as I actually preferred boxing my stuff, so I didn't get why they wouldn't do things the other way around. :twitch:

Yeah, this is obviously a corollary to a previous thread that bothered me. What makes a person who they are? Is it our environment, our choices, or our inner constiuents (i.e., blood-DNA)? Psychology teaches us that, by age 12-14, we are rooted with strong, immovable fundamentals for thinking and ideology (i.e., what's good, what's bad). These roots serve as a permanent fulcrum to how you handle other, more complicated ideologies and values (i.e., Is killing someone in self-defense ok?). These roots are also nearly impossible to change by age 12-14. So, what do you think is responsible? Yeah, normally this question is just run with Society and you, but I don't want any of the cushy 50-50 answers, since we all know about that twin story (different environment, nearly same result).

Anime I think the world controls more than Tsukasa...
AzureWolf replied to Squall's topic in Otaku Central
Do you know how boring the .hack anime would be if the character were acting exactly like characters in a game? I'm not much of a fan of watching someone else play a video game, so why would I want an anime about it? :haha: However, I believe Subaru fits into this category of "all-too real" in The World with her tears. Facial expressions seem pretty commonplace for games and what-not, but actual tears... that's a different story. While not physically like Tsukasa, I believe Subaru's very much trapped in the game, and there is no longer a border between reality and game for her. -
Heh. Well, technically, they've spoken 2 or 3 times in person that we've seen on the show.. The one time when Tsukasa was captured... And on that hill... But, if you really listen, it hints at them talking quite a few times. One time, Tsukasa sits on the hill and says, "Well.. Seems she is not coming today..." As in it's become a habit of meeting at that spot..
Oh yeah, I completely forgot about those parts! Still, I'm going to hold on my decision about whether Subaru is in love with Tsukasa or not.

While we are on the subject of music, Amazon.com just beat their own delivery record by getting the latest .hack volume to my house in one day after notification (and I was using that free super shipping thing)! Haha, I am VERY impressed with the LIMINALITY soundtrack that was bundled! On top of that, the bonus Mini-Disc is nothing to scoff at. I mean, I can't rip the mp3s out of it, but I can at least play it. One Thousand and One Nights is very nice. I think the instrumental songs are overall the beter part of this soundtrack. The vocal songs are amazing, but the instrumental ones stand out more for me. Haha, I thought the violin was well-used, but wait until you hear the piano on some of these songs! EDIT: The main song for LIMINALITY (called liminality, lol) also says "in the land of twilight." On top of that, it's put another strange phrase: "I will be there seekin' for liminality." First we were stuck figuring out twilight, but they've now added liminality. At least the first one had a meaning! What the hell is liminality? :twitch:

I think I lean on the edge of a perfectionist and obsessive compulsive. I mean, I've already gone through my "CLEAN CLEAN" phase, where you ridiculously try to sterilize yourself and keep everything of yours clean, not to mention cleaning yourself over and over if you touch something you "feel" is unclean. Haha, but like I said, I'm over that. What got me over it was learning that the human immune system is the most advanced/evolved/powerful of ALL species. However, I still have some obsessive compulsive tendencies, but only with my few, valued materialistic items. :) If it makes you all feel better (it makes me feel better :D), they say all geniuses had some degree of obsessive compulsive disorder. Depression worries me (haha, that's ironic!) more than SARS. It's becoming an increasing problem, and no one seems to know why. I personally think it is because of the new generations' all-too-firm attachment/embrace to material items, but I digress...

Ok, most of you have stayed on track, but too many of you have strayed away from the topic. The topic is how you feel about gays, not whether gayness is right or wrong. Those two questions are extremely different, as the latter has a great level of depth that could be explored in many directions. Scientifically, religiously, and logically, you will, after going to the core, end with gayness being wrong. Philosophically, it's a stalemate. Still, that isn't what the topic is about. People can make comments such as, "I don't see what's the difference/big deal of gays," but how far does this "let people love" philosophy of yours go? Ok, you think gays are fine, so then how about someone who dates his/her mom, or a father and daughter/son grouping? Yeah, you all blinked. Why? You will probably answer by saying incestuous relations are wrong, and then also give the same reasons that people use to argue that gayness is wrong. Well, HOPEFULLY you will, or (well, first off, whoa, ) you guys are just on a whole different mindset than I. Personally, I don't see any difference between gay relations and incestuous ones (and other out-of-the-ordinary relationships), so how could you disagree with one and not the other?
-
First off, this belongs in the gaming section under Sony (although I still disagree with that rule). All .hack threads that deal with the games are supposed to be there, while only threads based on the .hack anime should be posted here. Second, http://www.otakuboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=25748

Haha, I can see why you would think that the player was
Aura
, but really, how could you think that?
All we've seen Aura do in 19 episodes of .hack//SIGN is float in the air. Now how is it suddenly possible for her to up and transform into another character? I mean, there was that dream scene, but that's all it was: a dream. Also, if you are referring to the girl's "I've been watching you for a long time," comment, I think you are overspeculating.
I don't think the girl was anymore than a Subaru hater, as I once was. :) As for Subaru being in love with Tsukasa, I'm going to need to see a few more episodes before I can make any speculations. I mean, she certainly likes him and thinks of him, but how can you call that love? She's only seen him a few times, and, talked to him once, and that was such an awkward conversation. I think it's more of a connection thing. Subaru's more connected to The World than any of the other normal players, IMO. I'm in a hurry, so I'll elaborate on that last sentence later (I kind of did already in the episode review thread).
Originally posted by cloricus I understand it easily. I find girls attractive; I do not find guys attractive. Therefore I have no problem with one but I find the other rather, unconfutable to watch. That's just me; I'm not gay and I don?t have to like what they like just like they don't have to like what I like. (Like!) It is becoming more common to see gay couples expressing themselves the same way as "het" couples in the street, I think this is a good thing to gradually desensitise the population until it gets to a point where they see no difference and I think that will go along way toward equal rights. (And all that.) Now I make no apology for the above. I was brought up in a society where gay people are not shunned but they were not something you personally would want to be and that has shaped my attitude.
Wow, cloricus, I didn't think it was possible to state that position so politely! Haha, I guess I should refrain from flaming. :whoops: Anyway, yeah, I agree with cloricus' statements, except I was raised in a society where gays ARE shunned, so I don't really like the idea of gays. I guess I'm just too conservative for my generation... :( I, as well, am sorry if that offends anyone.
-
Argh, this one's like the third thread about gays! I really don't understand these threads, as the only reason for their existence seems to be to make gays seem special. Two things: First, this discussion will be immediately one-sided: what do you expect to happen if someone is offended by gays, or gays are offended by comments in this thread? Do you really think anyone who is offended by gays is going to say it? I mean, what would that lead to? Remember, "if you don't have anything good to say..." In the end, I doubt you'll hear anything but appraisal. :o Second, if gays really wanted to be accepted into society, they should also realize that "ending discrimination" is a double-edged sword: if they don't want to be hated or despised (or as it's commonly called, "discriminated against"), they shouldn't be getting preferential treatment either. Discrimination simply means being treated differently for one reason or another. That differential treatment "discrimination" refers to could be either good or bad, so realize that "ending discrimination" should mean that there should be no more "LOOK AT ME" threads either. Either that, or I'd better see a "what do you think about straight people?" thread... :)
Originally posted by DeathKnight I hope to be posting in this thread soon, lol. I finished the first again, getting everything that I wanted and defeating the secret boss in the secret dungeon [man that was more annoying than difficult.] Any suggestions before I transfer it over into Mutation? Level 32 I believe, with the argueablely best weapon in the game and highest level armor for Kite and the Dryad's Sword and top notch armor for Blackrose, and pretty much the same for the rest of the supporting cast.
Haha, yeah, I know what you mean. I hope you Data Drained him, unlike me. :( Anyway, I suggest you don't waste time going around, or trading and collecting arms and gear: as soon as you start MUTATION, you will throw EVERYTHING (even that rare weapon) away. That's the one thing that ticked me off. Immediately, everyone in the towns will have better stuff for you, or you will get better gear very soon. Haha, So don't be like me, who powered up to level 36 waiting for the sequel, and traded an arm and a leg for those "special" trades! Out of curiousity, what group do you use, and why? EDIT: Oh, one last thing: finish the Zeit Statue sidequest before playing MUTATION, because my bro didn't, and now the place I did it at changed. Haha, I didn't want him to go through what I did (my word history in Delta is flooded with like 100 "Chronicling" stages!), but it looks like he will have to, or just restart MUTATION.
Now I am worried about fighting Cubia. Does anyone have any tips? I already know about the Repth Core, but that is it.
Repth Core? What the hell? Haha, I was VERY direct when fighting Cubia. Anyway, yeah, the game really does know how to make things/enemies daunting, but Cubia's slim-pickin's. Don't let him intimidate you, and everything should be fine. Besides that, I'd rather not hold your hand and tell you what to do: 1. that's just spoiling things, and 2. guides are for sissies (except for that grunty raising  ).

Probably the longest time I spent online was when I asked my roommate to leave his PS2 for the day so I could do something between my exams. When I came for my two days of exams, the PS2 was gone. Go figure... :shifty: Most of my time was spent chatting. It was incredibly convenient because my best friend was online with nothing to do but wait for exams too! Haha, it was also distracting because chatting would keep me from doing any last-minute review! Oh, right. I guess that longest was anywhere from 6-8 hours, since we are considering meal breaks and sleep.

Well, if it's any help: I found that if you change anything in your sig, even if it is not anything with your banner/image, OB checks the validity of the file again, and it will ALWAYS come up "not found." However, I have found that if you delete the "h" in "http" and re-enter it after you change your sig and before you submit your new sig, there will be no problems. Well, at least I haven't had problems everytime I've done that. Besides doing that, you could always just keep pasting it until it works.
