Well, cursing is thrown around alot more in FF7 than in FF8 and FF9. As far as I know, neither FF8 or FF9 were censored. From what I heard, Sony added cursing to FF7 to try and make themselves look more adult (though, IMO that made things that should appeal to adults seem more childish. Stupid stereotypes.). I don't consider the "d" word with God's name behind it to be a minor curse. Alone it's minor, but even that word alone I find offensive when it is thrown around alot for no reason. I'm pretty sure both "b" words were there too. I'm not anti FF7 and I do like the game, but I have other issues with it besides the cursing (less balanced than FF6, shorter quest than FF4, FF5, or FF6, prerendered backgrounds used for dungeons, thus making them smaller than dungeons in other FF games, and no alternate world like in previous games). FF7 may have gotten the most publicity, but IMO FF6, FF4, and even FF5 are superior.

I love the opening themes for Slayers Next (my screenname here is named after that theme) and Try, but the in anime music is pretty standard stuff, though not bad. Miyazaki films have very good music. Some of that music reminds me of music in SNES games.

Anime Which Anime Chara do you relate to most?

I'm kind of like a combination of Vash and Millie. I like having fun and acting silly, but I can be absent minded and nieve at times. -
Anime Yaoi/shonen-ai: what's the attraction?
GiveaReason replied to Utena_Tenjou's topic in Otaku Central
What annoys me about shonen or shojo ai is that people make more out of it than what is actually there. Some fans of yaoi and yuri see some innuendos and assume that more is going on than is actually there. I don't mind some homosexuality in anime as long as it's not too explicit and the sole purpose of the anime isn't to promote homosexuality. I loved the Slayers episode with the gay sea serpent. Keep in mind that many Christians(including me) have been taught that homosexuality is wrong, but that we believe that disliking people for any reason is wrong. I believe that all sin is equally wrong and that everyone sins, so we are all equally bad. That means being rude to people or hating them is wrong no matter how rude they seem. -
Gaming Next GBA/GCN game you are getting and why.

I'll probably get SEGA Arcade Gallery GBA. It's priced fairly cheap and it has a portable version of Space Harrier. -
I thought of another poor anime couple. Lina Inverse and Hallis. It's funnier if I don't tell you anything, but I have the black spoiler thingy here just in case you're curious.
Hallis asks Lina to pretend to marry him and she does so becuase he offers her money. Lina really hates it when Hallis tries to kiss her and she won't let him kiss her no matter what the price.
I'm a bit irriated by all these made up Gundam Wing yaoi parings. They didn't even exist. These were just perverted fantasies made up with fan fiction.

I can name a bad couple. Martina and Xelloss. It was more of a one sided thing, though. However, it sure was funny. Martina = guy chaser

Gaming Sonic Battle & Sonic Pinball Party
GiveaReason replied to Senor Ding Dong's topic in Noosphere
I read some E3 hands-on of Sonic Battle. It doesn't sound that great. It's supposed to be a button masher. Maybe it will get better when it's complete, but the E3 impressions of it at different sites didn't make me want to play the game. I'm actually more interested in the Sonic Pinball game. Nice variety of tables and the E3 impressions I read of it say the physics are good too. It has more tables than any other GBA pinball game and they look very nice in the screenshots. The tables seem to have in-table mini-games (the arcade styled ones with the timer) and there is a special mode with mini-games called Casinopolis. It may not sound like much, but this game has the potential to be one of the best pinball games on GBA. -
I love what I have seen of the X TV series so far. The plot is excellent, the characters are great (and better developed than in the movie), and characters don't die every time an energy field is put up. The movie was a bit of a disappointment for me. Too much gratitous violence and not enough character or plot development. I would also like to comment on the English dub of X TV. From what I have seen so far, the dub is excellent and much better than the movie dub. The voices fit the characters well and it seems to be accurate to the original. IMO, it's one of the best dubs I have seen.
