Or maybe, it's sarcasm in disguise. You get a frozen regurgitated Phazon cookie given to me from James. Just for the hell of it.

So what we have here is a society that claims it is tragically flawed, and does things for the hell of it..... How long do you think that would survive?

Hmmummmm.... It's been difficult to come up with good ideas, my best thought yet was to make my own costumes. Including Galadriel's dresses and a X-wing pilot costume for my boyfriend. But that was last year. This year, I cracked and used commando cloth to transform one of my LOTR fanatical friends into a Nazgul. 40 meteres of cloth plus alot of sewing equal 1 very freakish personage. Completely original, as nobody else will be able to come close to doing something quite so elaborate. Of course, the metal gauntlets were something I wasn't quite able to manage. This year though, I bought myself a Jester's hat, which makes me look like a cross between a sea anemone and a hedgehog. So i think I'll wear the sheer white bodysuit and be a sexy jester. As my friends are being Monty Python peoples.... And we're advertised as the "F-ed up knights of the Round Table."

Zharra: What was that for? Damien: Nothing much. Zharra: Not that I'm complaining. She squeezed his hand and looked out the huge doors. It was warming, pleasant, and her eyes shifted to accompany the changing of the light. Her smile grew, and he watched her, a sort of happiness in his heart. And then the sun changed from pink, to orange, to red, and the clouds swirled. Sunrise. Zharra: It's beautiful. He looked at her again, keeping his own counsel.

They left quietly, ignoring several stares. Graie shook her head as soon as they were out of immediate view. She brought his hand out, despite his efforts. With the back of her hand, she felt the thick warm fur, and he colored slightly. Jonas: Sorry. Graie: It's not your fault. She smiled at him sweetly, and her eyes dialated and contracted, shifting from panther to human and human to panther. He smiled and kissed her forehead gently. Graie: Let's go. Jonas: Where to? Graie: ....well, La Pinata Guzman's is good. They have the nice big burritos. Jonas: You're still hungry? Graie: I was thinking more in terms of you, but I wouldn't argue.

She took his hand and allowed him to lead her to the window. And there they sat, in very comfortable chairs, watching through high French doors. Zharra closed her eyes and inhaled the scents, Damien watched her breathe. Delightful really. She turned her face towards him, then opened her eyes. Zharra: Yes? Damien: It's nothing. Zharra: Is it? He blushed and turned away.

Shalistrae turned and pushed herself out, then made it back to the deck chairs, and leaned back. Instant bliss. She closed her eyes, tilted her head back, and thought happy thoughts. Rena contented herself with more happy frolicking, and Medra came back eventually, with a drink. Shalistrae opened one eye casually. Shalistrae: And where's mine? Medra: Did you want one? Shalistrae: Strawberry margarita. No salt. Medra: I'll take that as a "Yes Medra, would you please get me one?" Shalistrae: Thank you. She gave him a movie star smile, complete with dazzling eyes and girlish blushing.

She stood and took his arm. Zharra: Wine? Damien: That would do nicely. The two stepped out into the hall, down the stairs, to the kitchen. One of the servants was on call, and stood when they entered. He bowed and politely asked for their orders. As soon as the words left their mouth, he turned and ushered them into the sitting room, then promised he would be back. Zharra took her repose gracefully, Damien watching her movements. Damien: Did you ever learn how to dance? Zharra: What makes you think I did? Damien: .....the way you move. Zharra: As a matter of fact, yes. Ballet, the classics, and ballroom. What about you?
-
Zharra: It's very boring to simply lie and wait for the morning. Especially when you're alone. She smiled at him softly and he gestured to the bed. With delicate steps, she walked over and took her repose. He noticed the fold of the cloth around her legs, then looked away again. Very pretty, but this wasn't a mission to find true love. Especially with someone like her. Zharra tilted her head to one side. Zharra: Damien? Damien: What is it? Zharra: What are you thinking? Damien: Absolutely nothing. Zharra: Liars burn in hell. She winked at him and recrossed her legs.

Rena tossed the ball high, and it smacked down, into Medra's lap. Between his legs. The muffled groans were more than enough to send the two of them into uncontrollable giggles. Shalistrae ducked underneath the water, and dived to avoid Medra's rush towards them. Rena took the other route. Over. She leapt, using Shalistrae's back as a springboard, and landed in the deep end. Shalistrae surfaced beneath her, the two making tracks for the corner. Where the ladder was, also. Medra sighed and gave up. She was right. They could swim like fish. Shalistrae blew him a kiss and pretended to scold Rena, who was still giggling. Rena: I couldn't resist. Shalistrae: You're twisted. Rena: No, I'm misunderstood! Shalistrae: And I'm a flowery princess. Medra: ......why me? He dove and came up behind them, tapped Shalistrae on the shoulder, thus resulting in Rena getting dropped. Which wasn't a problem really, she simply began treading water. Medra: ...Ouch. Shalistrae: What are you looking at me for? I didn't do it! Rena: I'm innocent. Idon't know any better. Medra: ...

Rena was cleaning up her quarters, adjusting the rocks to suit her habbits once more. Ferret and Bear had eaten and gone to sleep. While in the deep caves, they had slept some, but mostly kept the smaller children reassured and entertained. Ben walked in quietly, to find Rena licking her chops and reclining gracefully. Rena: ...may I help you? Ben: How are the children? Rena: They were fine, not to afraid. Ferret and Bear, the leaders, kept them occupied. Ben: Good good. How are you? Rena: Fine now. Ate, groomed, did a little housecleaning. I'll be fine for another week. Ben: If only we had more like you... She grinned, showing sparkling white teeth and a blood red tongue.

Medra groaned and feinged interest in the pool. Sure she was divinely beautiful, that that didn't mean he should succumb to the charm. Oh well. Too late. Shalistrae preened, slathering on the sunblock, not that she wasn't tanned enough, just wanted to make a scene. Rena was playing happily. No. Frolicking. Playing wasn't quite good enough. Not only was she leaping in the air and doing underwater cartwheels, she was also shouting and laughing and doing the other things little girls normally did. Although Shalistrae was quite sure the 16 year old self was quietly checking out the adolescent guys in the deep end. Shalistrae shot her a deadly look. "Do it and die." She grinned and pretended not to notice. Medra nudged Shalistrae, who instnatly returned to normal. Her eyes hazed back from ice green and she blinked several times. Medra: Nu-uh. Shalistrae: Sorry. Medra: ....let her drown herself. Shalistrae: She can swim anyways. ......and so can I. Medra: Are you sure? Shalistrae: Don't make me prove it.

She walked out past the animal cages and into the park area. She climbed the nearest big tree, inhaling the scents. For some reason, she could see better, even though dusk was giving way to night. And she could smell the olives. Not an unpleasant smell. Actually it was quite pleasant. And climbing the tree was never easier. Once she was comfortable, stretched out on the limb, she crossed her arms and legs around the branch, then settled back and waited. It would be awhile. In the meantime, she closed her eyes and thought happy thoughts. Around 9: 50, she roused herself. He was calling her name. She slid down slowly and ran out onto the green. He caught her up in a bear hug, spinning her around. She laughed and put her arm around his waist, his around her shoulders. She was somewhat shorter than him, but not enough to cause problems when kissing or hugging otherwise. The two headed for the parking lot, not saying much, just enjoying the company. Graie: So where are we going to night? Jonas: ....what do you prefer? Graie: ...um......erum....I'm not that hungry actually. I could go for a Slurpee. Jonas: Cheap is good.
-
Graie: ...you always had a **** time with finances. Jonas: But seriously, how are you? Graie: ....plugging away at school. Pulling up the grades everyone wants to see. Quite satisfied with it really. Jonas: But you want something more? Graie: I doubt there is anything else. She sighed and leaned against the bars. Sara purred deep in her throat and rubbed against the human creature that had touched her mind to hers. It was rare that such a thing happened. But when it did..... Jonas touched her face with his palm. She pressed his hand into her cheek. Jonas: Are you alright? Graie: ....yeah. He bent down and kissed her lips softly.

She woke very late in the night, the moon rising. Zharra rose silently, knowing that she had gotten more than enough sleep. She folded the sheets and walked down the hall. She took the staircase up to the men's level and walked down the hall. Although she was making very little noise, she knew someone could hear her. But she didn't mind. If, by some odd chance, one of them was awake, he could invite her in. But in the meantime, she would be content enough to walk the hall in her bare feet, enjoying the feel of the carpet beneath her toes. The decor was faultless, and the atmosphere was peaceful. Permeating. But from every door she passed, she could feel a sense of each person. Michael was sleeping like a log. Kris, less so. And Damien....was being Damien. Trance-like, not really asleep. She supposed that made up for not getting natural rest.
-
Shalistrae was just toweling herself off when Rena slipped in and handed her the required clothes for the day. She winked. Rena: Had a good nights sleep? Shalistrae: Yes. Rena: Have any dreams? Shalistrae: ....about...? Rena: Sausage? The older female started wondering just how twisted Rena was...when she figured out the meaning, and colored furiously. Shalistrae: That is NONE of your buisness! Rena: ...hehehe... Shalistrae: OUT! The younger of the two made a swift exit and smoothered her giggles until she was in the kitchen with Medra. He gave her a look, but didn't even ask. Shalistrae got over herself and dressed quickly. She walked out, highly composed. Medra greeted her courteously, and Rena ducked under the tabletop.

She opened her eyes, later in the evening, and felt wide awake. For once. She ate her dinner, then got dressed. Black. Always black. On a whim, she drove to the zoo. She parked, and got in without any complications. Graie had always had a thing for animals, enjoying their company, watching them, drawing them, wishing she was one of them. But her absolute favorites were the huge black panthers. She walked through the paths quietly, calmly, without any unecessary movement. Then stopped just in front of the cage bars. He was watching her. Tall and proud. Reclining against the side of the tree, lounging really. Twilight, was always the time he moved. And he could smell something he enjoyed. That creature that watched him for hours on end. He slid up to the bars and eyed her. She eyed him back.

Graie fiddled with her notebook quietly. Absolutely bored out of her skull. Compared to yesterday, this was about as thrilling as watering the garden. She waited patiently for the bell to ring. Which it did. Thank god. She stood and gathered her things. Backpack, notebook, textbook, pencil, papers, waterbottle. She zipped up the compartments and made a beeline for the exit. And then through the halls, weaving in and out of traffic with perfect balance. Then out to the parking lot, into the car, and back home. She made a beeline for the freeway and entered without hassle, made it home, and crashed onto the bed. This was so.....ugh. She flicked off the lights and drew the shades. Her clothes hit the floor as she hit the bed, nearly asleep. No more moving for the rest of the day. If she could help it.

To her great releif, the children were unharmed, if a little shaken and afraid. She cuddled the smaller kittens to her chest, and nuzzled them sweetly. Ferret and Bear rubbed against her, looking for support. She relayed the information to them, trusting them to not start a mass panic. The children were led back to the perspective rooms, and fed accordingly. She set up the younger ones with the old mothers and provided for them. Ferret and Bear followed her to the main hall, until she turned and shook her head. Ferret: Why not? Rena: It's not really....all that safe. And if you two go, my main leaders are gone. Bear: Well, we're tough. Rena: You'll be dead. The harsh reality of this statement stopped them in their tracks, and she shook her head sadly.

Writing Today's Poem [M -- As a Precaution]
Raiha replied to Heaven's Cloud's topic in Creative Works
So sing with me, Dance the night away, Just the two of us, With nobody to watch and laugh. It's better this way, Laughing and turning, Twirling without a care, And just being us. People leave us alone, The smiles are real, The feelings are deeper, And our sensations stronger. Here with you, It's heaven. -
Zharra stripped down to absolutely nothing and filled the tub full of steaming water, and poured in some bath oils, just for the hell of it. She folded her clothes while she waited, and set out the frail cotton nightgown and lingere. Everything was delightful really, beautiful and elegant, with a touch of grace here and there. Clothes ready, she slid into the bathtub and surrendered herself to the delicious aromas and atmosphere. At least half an hour later, she rose, drained the water, and wrapped herself in a huge terrycloth towel. While she cleaned herself up and went about her nightly rituals, Kiara walked in and drew a similar bath. "Was it blissful?" "Is the pope a Catholic?" The two laughed and Zharra headed for the bedroom. She drew the light silk cotton blend over her head and tied the ribbons. Then she drew back the warm sheets and slipped in. Instant heavan, at half the cost.

Rena growled softly and sniffed the ground where he was once lying. It smelled of sadness and some sort of underlying fear. More she couldn't determine. Her tail whisked with annoyance. She hated being helpless. Rena turned and joined the main circle once more. It was pathetic, that's what it was. Rena: So we've lost everything. Ben: Not everything. Karokku: But just enough to cripple us. Rena: We still have our children. The children! A look of great contrition and anxiety crossed her face, and she turned and leapt out of the room, making a beeline for the deep caves. If they had been hurt in any way....she would never forgive herself.

Saria knocked on her door and was pleasantly surprised by Shrai'i's promptness. She was waiting, with her backpack and purse in hand. The two walked down the stairs, headed for the waiting Jeep, and climbed in. She sat in the front, tossing her things in the back. Saria noticed her attire, and smiled. It was perfect. "I like the outfit." "...I figured I'd be using this sometime." "Moroccan?" "Yeah. I got it from a specialty shop in Big Sur." "The gang's gonna get a kick out of it." "Why?" "Most people wear khakis and cotton shirts and stuff." "I have my own style."

All of a sudden, my life looks really fantastic. My dad's been in multiple car accidents, T-boned, sideswiped, rear ended. Even though none of them were his fault, we still ended up with big bills. I was rear-ended once, in a rental car no less, and since I've started driving, I live in mortal fear that I'll somehow get into another one. As for pain, I've hovered around 8, when I jacked my collarbone, and got my breast surgery. I expect to have more of the latter in my future, but not related to a car. I hope.
