She licked the side of his throat, then let her none to dull fingernails rest there. "Because my blood kills anyways." He placed his hand over hers, feeling the pulse on her wrist, then bringing it up to his lips. She smiled slightly, showing utterly normal teeth in return. The wind picked up, and the beaded fringe of her scarf blew over her face. He pulled it back over her head and she smiled softly. "....so now you see what I am. Where will you go?" "It doesn't change very much. Although you look like a Tristae." "Would it break your heart if you knew I was?" ".....how can you be one? Your father was a Lycan-friend" "So he was. And so I am. My mother was the sister of Elizabeth Dominae." His eyes widened, then closed again. That explained her scent, and her power. Witchblood, mixed with human and a trace of Lycan. She wouldn't kill him outright, but make him very weak. And to taste her might almost be worth it. She purred again and this time, let him touch her lips.

She moved in closer, her breath on his cheek. To him, the scent of moonflowers was almost overpowering. Her teeth nipped softly against his ear, and he felt like pushing her against the wall and opening her throat. The daggar pressing against his stomach helped quell that feeling. "Zharra Hanani." "...." Quite suddenly, she didn't seem quite as apetizing. Either that, or the fact that her blood was poison to him. But by saying what he knew to be her true name, she was no longer at the point of using his name against him. Although by her last name, he could detirmine quite a bit about her person. Dangerous, and a Lycan friend. How lucky could you get? "....so I show my good faith in you. Vampyre Marcus." Her lips brushed against his cheek and she purred softly.

He exited the alley and turned another corner. Against the building, she was watching him. Patiently, quietly, almost dreamily. He could smell her. Pheremones mostly, sweat, probably from a close encounter. But something about her wasn't quite right. He pulled in closer and was found out. His hand was outstretched, and the point of her silver daggar was tickling it. "Hello Marcus." "....where did you hear my name?" "From a half dead female, trying to discover the meaning of life, while strung out on stimulants that will never get her further than life." "She wasn't stoned was she?" ".....oh gods. So tell me, Marcus. Who am I?"

She smiled inwardly and curled her cool slim fingers around the handle of her blade. It glowed faintly in the night. "...I will never be one of you." Zharra turned and looked at the pale moon. It shivered and she cracked her neck lazily. Already, the scent of vampyre was fading. And the front she put on to throw him off balance....had worked like a charm. A gift from Dominae, her ability to shield her thoughts. Invaluable. Like the blade.

Alistar stepped out of the main roads and saw a lone figure leaning casually against the wall. He could automatically scent moonflower and laburnum thick around her. Hair that reached past her waist, and a Tristae sword in her immediate range. Not easy prey, but worth approaching. Zharra lifted her thick eyelashes ever so slightly and losened the chain in her palm. He stopped several yards away, giving her plenty of room. ".....get out of here leech." "....who's going to make me? You a relative of Dominae?" "She's my blood bound sister." "Then you must be the Hanani girl." "...I'm flattered."

how many here do some kind of archery?

I use a simple bow, 45lbs., when it's available at the local shooting range. Others go for compound with all the fancy stuff, but I think simple is best. When I have the money, I'll be getting my own. And in the line of other unusual sports, I know a little about fighting with a chinese style folding fan. Not throwing it, but using it to block projectiles and such. As for swords, I've been taught some things, and will soon learn more from my boyfriend. He's the type that has to know everything about them and then compete in Japan for titles and whatnot. -
The sounds of sirens filled the air and Juu rose from bed. She crawled into the one place where she felt so completely safe. Luyii's bed. Warm and comforting, filled with soft futon mattresses, and with the heated bulk of Butch at the foot. She curled up, knowing that Luyii would protect her from the bad dreams. Luyii stared at the ceiling, vision bluring. It was another night. No phone calls, no communication, only a soft echoing void. She put her arms around Juu gently and rocked back and forth. Soon, the youngest of the three was fast asleep once more. Luyii tilted her neck back and sighed softly. The warmth spread over her body and she relaxed. Butch snorted and whinned in his sleep, then turned and curled into a tighter ball. Comfortable. "...come home Dria."

The voices rise, Higher and higher from above, A cathedral, Full of hopeful souls. Those that have faith, Will move the mountains, Some sending, Of joy and hapiness to all. But she died today, And I was asked the questions, I relented, For I was unable to relate. He was very sad, When we talked I knew he was crying, But faliure, To comfort was my own gift. Pax, Hope, Faith, I give to him. -
Originally posted by Spikey There's a small chance that someone will bring a gun to school. In our school we have a D.A.R.E officer, and nobody wants to mess with him.
Oh you lucky child. At our school, we have two Resource Officers [cops] and everyone basically thinks they do nothing. Which is true. They're never around to break up fights, they're losers, and they don't even load their guns. I'm quite sure they're all just to make people all "scared." Fortunately, I'm above such petty stupid things. Like not messing with cops.

She could feel his breath on her neck, teeth pressing softly into the pale skin. She turned, feeling the spine sheath on her back shift. Then, when she felt his fangs grow longer, she whipped her knife out and plunged it into his chest. The leech stumbled back, clutching at the burning silver in his heart. He turned to look into her eyes once more before falling onto his back....and then closing his eyes.... And going into the darkest sleep of all. She drew her blade free, the blood steaming off the edges. Zharra Hanani sheathed her weapon and replaced her head scarf. Her eyes were calm and sweet, quite unlike her expression as she killed him. When they hunted her, she gave them what they wanted. Before cutting them off completely. She enjoyed it, but didn't bother joining the fanatical maniacs bent on destroying the entire vampyre race. Her Lycan friends were always around, loyal to her as they were to her father. But drifting. And Passing. She shivered in the night and felt her sword shift on its chain.

.....it's just as easy to hide stuff in jackets and pockets and wallets. To really make it safe, I suppose everyone should just walk around naked and hope for the best. Lockers suck. You can basically be violent without backpacks, or anything else for that matter. I can strangle someone with my headphone wires, or just push them from the second floor of the school buildling.

Writing Today's Poem [M -- As a Precaution]

In the city, Millions of souls, Hearts beating to separate pulses, And I watch them from the windows. At my level, Rushing back again, Souls waiting for something else. And I wish I was anywhere but here. So much movement, But so little hope, And millions of dreams that never ever, Go anywhere but further down the drain. Denmark Street. -
Luyii and Juu waited patiently. They could hear the movement. Feel the breath on the wind. Nothing else. They knew what Dria was up to. More or less. To find anything more could be....not so good. "......patience." "I know. I just don't like her leaving. And then knowing she couldn't come back." "......relax yourself. Don't let it get to you." The eldest patted Juu's arm comfortingly and the two leaned out on the balconey. Absorbing the scents of the night.

I still love ye' DW. And it's not your fault that these foolish and utterly absurd children are unable to READ the posts that come before them and EDIT ACCORDINGLY. ~~~~~~~~~~ Kell leaned against the wall, sitting straight up in bed, breathing deeply. Her finer senses shut down, leaving her with nothing but the instincts. Then she quietly slipped into bed next to Claudio, eyes shut to prevent the cat-like glow. Then she turned over and began to breathe deeply. As she did so she felt, rather than heard words being spoken. She sat up, silently, the sheets rustling ever so slightly. The cats outside had stopped purring. She slid ever so slightly and landed on the ground on all fours. Then she prowled out the window and perched. The animals all looked up at her, eyes glimmering. She opened her own and followed their gaze. Then she ducked. The assassin's arrow went right over her head and lodged itself into the wooden panneling. Like a whipcrack the animals scattered into the shadows and she had hit the ground. Then she jumped. The snake had already caught the heat and given chase. Within moments, she heard an agonised cry and followed it. A drow. She should've seen the red eyes. A drow assassin. After Kell? Her? She had nothing left to do but take his weapons. Assassin's arrows, like these, were definetly worth taking. The snake had already gotten him good. Claudio was still asleep, luckily, and the animals had made absolutely no noise. Gotta love those thick feather quilts. ''....lunatic.....trying to get my children.'' She slunk into bed and Claudio opened one eye. He smiled, and closed it again.

I'm here in the UK, operating on 12 hours of sleep for the past...oh...5 nights. And amazingly enough I'm past the point of knowing really. I can tell you that the Orange Juice, and the Squash is really doing the trick for me. But in all actuality, you just need to drink more water. It will eventually cleanse your system, give you the strength you've been needing [in theory], and so on and so forth. But if you want something for a swift pick-me-up, I reccomend either OJ or ....hmmm.... something that's all juice and not just concentrated. Sad really, over here I've seen nothing that says 100% juice, only the super-sugar-concentrated stuff. Sucks really, I was hoping to get my energy from real fruit. But when you're singing and dancing, you don't have time to choke down solid fruit.

I took a course in U.S. History, and we went into major depth about the A-bomb. But it's not right to talk about just the A-bomb. The stuff we have now is so much more powerful, the A-bomb is rather....out of date. Come on now people, hydrogen bombs, Mervs.... Anyways, back to the subject. The Japanese code was definetly illustrated by their never surrender, kamakazi trip. In theory, they would've never stopped attacking and the U.S. would've lost thousands if not millions of troops. The A-bomb stopped them in their tracks. But before it was even considered, you must also know that the troops that were island hopping found Japanese plans involving the training of school children to fight and kill Americans. Their plan, in essense, was to fight to the last man, from house to house, if and when the Americans got to Japan or reasonably close. I figure, rather than having to waste thousands of troops, this worked. I might question the morality, but it's history now. It's a lesser evil. Do we let them keep on killing us, or do we simply wipe a few of them out with both power and fear? Allow me to quote Albert Einstein: "If I had known what my work was going to be used for, I would've become a watchmaker."
Originally posted by Charles I feel that Riff is justified in filing suit against Willie. Let's sift through all the debate concerning evolutionary processes and whether or not animals have the ability to communicate. What we're left with is negligent and deceptive practice. Let's not forget that the Riffs called repeatedly and were never informed of complications related to the anesthesia. It shouldn't take over six hours to remove two bad teeth. So, I'm curious as to how long the animal was experiencing problems before concern motivated Ellen to visit the medical center and investigate for herself. The vet had to be withholding information. If that isn't unethical conduct on the part of the veterinarian, then I don't know what is. That's the issue here. He shouldn't be blamed for the illness that arose through the use of anesthesia but he has to be held accountable for acting wrongly in a professional position. With that in mind, it's a bit ignorant to accuse the Riffs of being money-grubbing crooks.
Do you know how long it takes for an animal to recover from anesthesia? We had to wait that long for our dog to be spayed. Scratch that, according to my mom it was a day and a night. So this sounds somewhat normal. But seriously. Suing for "emotional devastation?" I was devastated when they told me what they did to my chest after surgery, but did I sue them? Not exactly.
-
I agree, dogs don't have souls. And I've read that article again and talked to my dad about it. He works with dogs alot. In all logical thinking here, I'm quite sure that dogs usually don't have problems with anesthesia. Our once dog, she's gone now, was put to sleep to be spayed, and she was fine afterwards. Perhaps the dog already had problems that were augmented by the anesthesia. You can't exactly blame the doctor. He probably did the usual routine here. Can't exactly blame him for that. But I'd need more facts about the dog's health before he died.

Hmm, the most serious thing that ever happened out here was a huge four day rainstorm. Our entire street was flooded for a night, and the only way to get from point A to point B was by kayak. Which, was kinda fun.
Originally posted by PoisonTongue Dude, um... 1) Ever had a baby? By your point, babies shouldn't be considered human or even equal to humans, just because they're helpless and they take extreme amounts of training to become pottytrained and so forth. 2) What do you think barking is? An involuntary spasm? Animals can voice their opinion. You're just too ignorant to realise that. What about when your pet puts their head on your lap or sits there staring at you? Don't you figure they want something? The moment you realize they want something, THEY HAVE COMMUNICATED. The ability to speak does not make one important and/or intelligent. Just look at George W. Bush. He's an idiot--the village idiot no less. He communicates worse than my dog, Sam. 3) So, how do you regard packs of wolves and lions and such? They are self-sufficient. Hell, they have no human influence and/or help whatsoever. They survive on their own, thus making them very much "self-sufficient." 4) If you're so against ppl dying for an inferior being, how do you feel about Henry V? He was most certainly not a wholesome being and ppl died for him. We mustn't forget Hitler; most of his army died for him. So, you have a problem with ppl dying for an innocent and/or helpless (sometimes helpless) dog, but are totally OK with soldiers dying for a dictator's deathly militarial campaign?
1: I think you're overlooking his basic idea here, but oh well. 2: Yes yes, you're very smart. 3: He's talking about domesticated creatures Alex. 4: **** happens. He's trying to make a point.
