1.
There are two things to consider with this topic:
1. Suicide is painless

2. It brings on many changes
You can take or leave it if you please.
I'm not sure precisely where you decided that suicide is painless. Because unless these people committing suicide/assisted suicide have access to some groovy pain medications the average choke self to death with extension cord trick, drink self blind with sleeping pills trick, slice wrists trick, is not painless. In fact it's nothing near painless. That's like saying dying is painless. Yes, sometimes it's painless. Most of the time it's really about as much fun as swallowing grenades. Try again next time.
2. *stuffs down another plate of nachos and follows up with a bowl of ice cream* I don't know exactly what everyone's so hot and bothered about. It's not like there's a pandemic of a new and deadly ebola virus... But on the other hand our brave new leader has 'strongly encouraged' schools showing swine flu outbreaks to close. That'd be super considering finals week is around May 14th. Plus there's the added bonus of people being too afraid to come back to school, cutting down on the excess student population ensuring I get into the classes I want to get into. But I like how SWINE FLU has completely eclipsed the news. China could be invading South Korea right now and we'd never know because it'd be on like page 15.
3.
Is it morally ethical to call a mentally disturbed person cowardly? Would you call a mentally retarded person "stupid"?
If they're mentally disturbed they belong in a mental hospital on the off chance that they have an actual legitimate medical issue that can be resolved with proper medical treatment. If it's a chemical imbalance, that can be fixed. If they're mentally retarded, they better possess enough of their own wits to know they want to die before some 'merciful angel' decides that mentally retarded people are better off killing themselves and unburdening society. Otherwise you're taking advantage of someone's condition to fulfill your own desire to see people you deem as better off dead actually dead.
4. Name: Jia Li Age: 22 Appearance: Personality: Abrupt and blunt to the point of sarcasm, Jetti takes no crap and gives no quarter. If she wants something she will take it, and if someone or something stands in her way, she'll smash it. Weapons: Chain whips, seven to nine sections depending on how much reach she thinks she'll be needing. Powers: What she calls kinetic trajectory alteration, Jetti can alter the movement of items by bending the laws of physics to a minor degree. But then again, if a bullet is coming towards you, you only have to alter its motion slightly to make it ineffective. She can alter her own motions when most people would be irrevocably resigned to their own momentum, change the degree to which her whips are moving, and push aside obstacles with just enough force to make them miss or fall into her control. Note: she doesn't normally try to catch bullets. Memory/ Aspiration/ Manifestation of Memory: She remembers dancing on a stage in front of thousands of people. It appears in her graceful motions, and the fact that she has the kind of flexibility that's normally reserved for contortionists and members of Cirque Du Solei. The only momento she has is a silver anklet that she wears on her right ankle. Writing Snippet: The loudmouth from before shouted an obscenity and followed after her cursing while he did. Jia turned to watch him lumbering towards her with all the grace and artistry of a falling tree. He threw a punch and she blinked. In the time it took for her eyelashes to kiss and then open again, his fist had blurred right past her face and crashed into the rock formation behind her. Immediately she dashed forward in an effort to outstrip the rockslide he had started and dodged or deflected most of the boulders he had dislodged. He went down under the rocks, screaming as he did and she shrugged her slender shoulders and looked back out towards the others who had started chasing her. Perhaps they were taking her insults personally. Either way she began to loosen her whips from around her waist as she did, wondering which idiot would get closer the first and how easy it would be to set up their death. "Silly boys. Dancing around like clowns with their legs tied together." Undercutting her point, a particularly fast boy picked up enough speed to nearly catch her, and by catch Jia judged it as merely enough space for her to swing and catch him around the ankles. The first whip snaked around his legs and snapped them together, bringing him crashing to her feet. The second she whirled in a tight arc and then slammed down to dash brain matter and bits of skull out across a rocky outcropping. The boys, or were they men, chasing her slowed their pace and exchanged uneasy looks with each other. Judge: Of course, Jia calls it like she sees it.
5. To be honest I would've preferred the memory stick with the pronz on it, provided it was good pronz and not the HBO kind. Of course I already have a DS and a PSP so....maybe I'm just being sarcastic here. If I paid over 100 dollars for a hand held and didn't get my advertised product I would've shot the manager of the store in the head. Or used those rocks to stone him, you know. Either way. But to forestall the inevitable Walmart bashing let us say that Gamestop does the exact same thing, only they have an even less cheerful staff.
6. So in other words being a person with a shoddy self defense system means I'm saved. .....I wish that was as reassuring as it should be.
7. So, what do people think about the new Swine Flu outbreak from Mexico? As someone who lives in California, which is a bit closer to Mexico than other people on the OB I must confess I'm slightly worried. In allergy season my immune system is severely depressed and I've been getting spring colds like crazy. Here's an article that'll probably serve to scare you like crazy. CDC declares state of medical emergency that is most likely going to stir up people and send them into a panic and possibly give them a flu that's a psychosomatic response rather than an actual infection. Are you afraid based on your location if you live in the U.S.? Do you think the borders should be closed until the situation is handled? Will this turn into a pandemic?
8. Wow John. You need to stop hitting the Assumption button whenever you read something because you are taking things out of context in a manner I can only describe as pathetic. You're just looking for an excuse to say negative things about a group of people who have religious views that determine that taking life for any reason is wrong. Sabrina never said she hated the group of people who went around gleefully aiding suicidal people. I did. I say this because anyone who thinks it's their mission to be the great white hope for people with mental issues clearly has a undiagnosed God Complex.
9. There's a difference between assisted suicide and signing a (DNR) Do Not Resuscitate. It's hard to say if there's something even a little positive in helping people kill themselves when they're still healthy and not hooked up to machines that breathe and exchange fluids for them. Personally I think it's morally pathetic for these people who are too helpless to kill themselves and morally bankrupt for people who aid and abet the death of others. Get a real job.
10.
Actually that part of Judges Ace serves to illustrate why kings were a bad idea. But the Hebrew nation bitched and whined for SO long about their 'need' for a king that the judges and prophets of their culture decided it'd be easier to give in and let the jerks have their bloody king. Wasn't really the best plan as you all know but what the heck, we're over it.
11. Describe a thing, or things [not people] that you have deemed proof that God or any other Higher Power wants you to be happy. For example my band practice was canceled so I shimmied on over to the local Prolific Oven bakery. It has free Wi Fi. I bought a cream puff that I discovered was advertised as mini but was still the size of my plate. I have a cup of steaming Earl Gray and get to re-fill it as often as I care to. What do you consider the ultimate happiness? No warm guns or beer please. Try to be at least vaguely original.
12. A few thousand people died in New York in the name of Allah as terrorists died shouting that their god was great too. Don't you turn this into a gleeful Bashing of Christianity fest because I will happily tell you how many people have died in the name of Allah, how many women have been burned in the name of family honor in India, or how many children in China have been killed because they were the wrong gender according to the Chinese tradition.
13.
I only have a tiny dispute about how pagan concepts got into Christianity. The way I was told was in order for the pagans to keep their believes they had combined them with Christianity. It wasn't really Christians adding the pagan beliefs Christianity but the pagans adding their beliefs into Christianity. If that made any sense at all.
Yes, that does make sense. And I know there are a lot of hardline Christians that like to claim that they thought of it first. But as far as actual Easter worship services go, we proclaim the divinity of Christ through his resurrection from the grave. We don't include animals, eggs, candles, incense [unless we're Catholic], etc. as part of the 'ceremonies' because there IS no ceremony. The only difference between Easter and other Sunday worship services is the amount of people who shop up for the service that you'll never ever see again but welcome happily anyway. It's about the same as Christmas. On these holidays people regardless of their actual faith or belief show up to church because they think it's the right thing to do. I don't know too many Christians [in my acquaintance and there are many] anyway who particularly care about the origins of their holiday so much as they remember to celebrate Christ's resurrection. The bunnies and eggs these days is just a cheap way to get your kids pumped full of sugar so the parents want to beat them. Our church does an Easter egg hunt mostly to get the kids out of everyone else's hair. I helped. Found an egg on the roof with a dollar coin in it. Woo.
14.
Is it just me, or is every problem on the planet being blamed on the crummy economy?
It's not just you, believe me. Even the lame stuff can be vaguely tied to the economy just like my state of mind can be tied loosely to the color I'm wearing and what day of the week it is.
15. Maybe Madame X hasn't beat the crap out of the snitch/peddler because she thinks it's not nice to make fun of fat people...
16.
As long as he doesn't spend his nights dancing in gay clubs or something I think you're fine.
Well, I hate to say this but I have some bad news in that regard...
17. Right, because all the bitches and hoes be hanging out in Konoha with the ninjas and stuff. Sorry, that just detracts from the already somewhat realistic setting and would be completely stupid.
18. Half of this I can chalk up to bad parenting and immature people being ill equipped to be doing anything that takes more than a smidgen of responsibility. The other half I can tie to people being idiots about money and doing what people always do when times are tough. Fight other people and take it out on the least of these. Whenever couples have problems it always boils down to either sex or money and in this case there's not exactly a money free environment. But I've also heard that sex is going up nationally because it's cheap and free entertainment and costs less than driving to a movie. Sex Addiction caused by Financial Crisis Screams the UK Guardian Which Isn't Really Feasible But Makes Good News? But heck, I was an addict before the financial crisis so I guess that means I'm safe. Right? ....Right?
19. It has gone up, but since most Americans categorically have no freaking clue what tax rates are as opposed to taxes themselves, I won't bother explaining the ups and downs of it except to say that we at one point were taxed 30%. That's now up to 55% in many cases with the rich paying an unfair amount of taxes compared to the poor. Look up what the Death Tax is and then get back to me on how fair it is to tax someone's assets that they paid taxes for while living after they've already kicked. There's a Tea Party in my area that I'm going to personally if only to skip out on one of my fiction classes in the evening, but also to show solidarity with my fellow right wing and moderate left wing bigots. "If 10 % is good enough for Jesus, well it ought to be enough for Uncle Sam." And no, this has less to do with Obama than you think. I'd be protesting regardless unless Obama or someone else was lowering the tax rates more than George Bush did and then locking that rate in for the next eternity or so. I feel I am definitely being overtaxed because I look at every paycheck I get from my evil stockholder boss and see the Federal Withholding. I'm paying for everything these days from someone's foodstamps turned to alcohol to an electric eel farm in Sutton. And quite frankly I'm tired of my tax dollars funding that sort of flimflam when it could be going towards my hard working policemen, firefighters, servicemen, and the Coast Guard. There are innumerable other reasons why I feel I'm being dicked out of my hard earned money but that's a long and sore subject. But the reason most of you haven't heard of this phenomena which is in fact gaining a lot of momentum nationally is quite frankly because the media does not want to support or draw attention to something that isn't anti-war, anti-Bush, or anti-Something More Trendy and Sexy.
20. So there I was in Barnes and Noble doing the proper manly thing and reading Naruto manga in a genuine effort to catch up on the series and I was doing pretty well. Then I looked over at my boyfriend and noticed he was reading THIS. Now I'm an open minded person as we all know when I'm not busy bashing poor people or the status quo, or certain national and foreign policies, but this I'm not sure what to think about. If your boyfriend prefers Shojo and you've already caught him gleefully reading/watching Vampire Knight and Chobits... Is he gay? I mean really? He already dresses very smartly, uses moisturizer, but otherwise I'm pretty sure he likes me. What do you people think? Male Shojo reading = Gay?
21. Your spelling botar, left me wanting quite a bit more. And you didn't mention paying up for the weed. But if you'd like to work out an arrangement, my character can tie you up and flog you for a few hours if you don't have any money. Otherwise you should probably not give the readers the impression that you don't have to pay to play.

Sexting

Actually when I was 14, in the same class as Mr. Man the dildo, condoms were distributed throughout the room. Supposedly they don't trust us enough to NOT have under age sex so they figure they might as well have us having protected underage sex. Because sex while very young NEVER has terrible consequences or ever hurts people.

Sexting
The way I see it, if you're a minor, then you shouldn't be taking pictures of yourself and putting them out there. Minors lack the maturity and legal grounds to even give consent.
And yet we promote sex education that equips these minors to have sex. When I was 14 I was taught how to properly put a condom on a large pyrex dildo named Mr. Man. So, by that logic, it's a little- wait no. It's REALLLLY stupid to assume that kids aren't going to be getting naked for each other and it's even more stupid to assume that said naked kids won't think "Hey, I should whip out my...phone. And take a picture! For posterity!" Because as a girl who has done said illegal things before [and just never been caught] I'm pretty sure that you have to be balls to the walls retarded to get caught. So in other words, if you must take nude pictures of yourself, make sure they're an 8X10 glossy. At least you can set those on fire.

Salvation

At the alert to assemble, Trance was the first one suited up and gone from the dorms. She'd pulled on her boots at lightning speed, adjusted the laces of her corset faster than the eye could follow, and loaded every sheath with a freshly sharpened weapon. Tying on her cyberfalls into her tightly wound buns, she turned to check her bed for anything she'd left behind, and then shrugged. Nothing left really. Adjusting the flaps of her wrap skirt, she made her way across the crowded room to the tunnel that lead to the meeting room and immediately began to cling to the walls, obscuring herself in every shadow she passed. The rendezvous room was unsurprisingly empty, but that didn't really bother her, in fact it made everything perfect. Seeing the door she knew Marcus would come in from, she quietly climbed the wall and positioned herself just above the door, preparing for her favorite game. Jump the straight guy. As he opened the door Trance dropped on top of him like a ton of bricks, knife already in her left hand. He immediately grabbed at her throat but found her as slippery as water and caught a handful of foam and pvc instead. Like a wraith, Trance was pressed up behind him, her stiletto gently pressing into his thigh. "Hi Marcus. You did pretty good that time." "Not good enough. Will you ever get tired of playing with your food?" "Never!" She sheathed her weapon in her boot and smiled at him in a profoundly unkind way. But he, knowing it was just the way she was built, sighed and rubbed his forehead. Trance really was somewhat invaluable when it came to deep cover cleaning and intel gathering, but her methods sometimes made him wonder if she wouldn't start eating her compatriots someday. "So do you have anything tasty for me? A new handler to replace the one that died last week? A new set of hook and talon knives? You know I'm simply dying for some action." "Oh there will be something for you. Eventually. I think we have a new handler for you in the works." "Bliss. Joy. Is he capable of standing up to me?" "That remains to be seen."
25. Racing far ahead of the others, Macey and the Colonel felt the avalanche, and immediately braced themselves as the chimeras went absolutely berserk. Being more than just proficient as a rider, Macey gripped with her legs, which were mercifully covered in heavy leather riding breeches and tensed up her body to accomidate her chimera's' panic. By degrees, they calmed themselves, and the Colonel came up beside Macey to offer a hand, only to discover that she was perfectly fine and adjusting the reigns slightly to keep her head closer to her chimera's. Macey turned to scan the area behind them and found it completely obscured with snow. "Weren't the others right behind us?" "I believe so, but the trail only goes one way, they're bound to end up here." "Well if you care to look ahead ever so slightly, I believe that would be our destination." Macey gestured with a heavily gloved hand, and the beginnings of the canyon were just starting to be visible. Two enormous stelea were standing side by side, constructed of what looked like pure obsidian, and leading into a rather narrow valley. "Come on, they'll find us, the shelter will preserve our tracks for them." The Colonel shrugged and followed along. Macey urged her chimera forward, who was only too willing to get out of the wind. As they did, Macey felt something twitch in the back of her mind, and she turned the chimera so she could get a better look at the two enormous monuments. Remembering something from her research notes, she dismounted and led the chimera right up to the stone. The one on the right was completely covered as far as she could see in Xear writing. And in true Xear fashion, it went from right to left, and every other letter appeared to be outlined with jade. Running over to check the other one, she discovered that instead of jade, there was ivory. Carved in such miniscule patterns, Macey marveled quietly at the stonework while the Colonel hovered behind her. "So what does it mean?" "I really haven't the foggiest idea Colonel. But look at this work. Can you imagine the patience it must've taken? And these words here, they look like something I saw in a book or in an old scroll once." He opened his mouth to reply when the others finally appeared at the canyon mouth, Ivan and Harrison leading Bavaria's chimera, which appeared to have foundered itself in the ice and snow. She too looked rather foundered, and didn't even notice Macey standing by one of the stele, looking utterly entranced. Harrison made his way over to deliver his report to the Colonel when Macey pulled him to one side and pointed at a bottom panel. "Doesn't that writing look familiar? I could've sworn I've seen it all before." "I don-" "Come on Harrison. I can't be the only one."
