Genitian snorted, and Lethe looked up. A lythanoid was in the path ahead of them, intently focused on something in two of his four arms. She whispered something in her horse's curved ear and he padded forward silently. The lythanoid looked back and stared. Lethe lifted one hand in silent greeting, then pulled back her hood. He watched her approach. With one swift movement, she reined in Genitian and swung off his back. Once firmly on the ground, she dropped a light curtsy, eyes on his whole body. Lethe: Greetings. Are you headed for the council? Rali: Perhaps. What is your name? Lethe: ....Lethe Lifé of the Sevenstar clan. And you? Rali: ...Rali. Pleasure to meet you. Lethe: Of course. She mounted Genitian once more and continued in the direction she was headed in. Lethe: Shall we?

Outside, in the harshest of weather, two creatures moved as one. Genitian, a huge black draft horse, and his mistress, a tall hodded figure, kept on pressing through the impossible elements. The one ridding was grasping a long staff of cherrywood, and seemed to have something about her that was non-real. That was easy enough to believe. This was, after all, the land of freakish things. The village came into her sight and she nudged Genitian to keep on going. He reared, silver mane and tail fanning out behind him; at last, a destination that promised him warmth, oats, and a bucket of water. His mistress clung on like a tick and the two shot forwards into the night. Inside the inn, people sat up. Heavy hoofbeats came into their range of hearing. Outside, the woman swung of her horse with practiced ease and took Genitian's jaw rope in her hand. She led him into the livery stable, then kicked open the doors of the inn. Nearly everybody present leapt up like they had been present....and quite a few women screamed. Then she removed her hood, and smiled. The doors clanged shut behind her and she quietly made her way over to the table. She murmered something to the innkeeper, who immediately poured her a glass of wine. The people stared. Here was something new. A lone woman of some sort, alone on the trail, coming in for a drink. It was like the stories and ledgends they passed down among themselves....and one approached her. Bless his soul. She looked up at him. His breath caught in his throat. Across her right cheek was a scar like the personal symbol of the goddess K'Jenica. A crescent moon and a small diamond next to it. He paused. She smiled once more. "May I help you?" "How did you....get out here?" "I rode a Shire stallion. How else did you suppose I arrived in such good time?" Then she turned back to her drink and continued to drink it slowly.... Vicante watched her, half amused. Humans were so fragile....but not this one. He highly doubted she was of the human race at all.

A huge black stallion pawed the ground where his mistress lay. When she shook her head and refused to stand, he nipped her side and she leapt to her feet with a yelp. He nickered and she yawned. Without further ceremony, she straighened her leather clothes and swung onto his back. He shook himself and looked ahead down the mountain path. She grasped her staff and checked her leafblade in its sheath. All was in order, so she took the reins and nudged her beast with her knees. Immediately he set off at a light canter, moving gracefully for such a huge animal. Before long, they had cleared the mountain range and continued going down the long path. A bird's call echoed through the air and the woman pursed her lip and made a similar sound. A dark raven apeared and lighted on her horse's mane. She held out her hand and he hopped on. Then he spoke to her in the language of the ravens. "The council sends me to you..." The woman smiled and stroked his long tail feathers with two fingers. Her voice was low and gentle. "Send word to these elders that Lethe Lifé of the Sevenstar clan is on her way. Will you do that for me." "Of course. Go on." With a practiced flick of her wrist, she sent him off towards his superiors. She smiled and dug in her heels. "Hurry Genitian. We must make it before the night comes." With a wild rearing of hooves, he leapt up, then onwards down the path. Her mission had been secured. Lethe Lifé was coming.

By popular [okay, by Juu's] demand... Name: Lethe Lifé Sevenstar Age: 800 Race: Itsari/Elf Weapons: Cherrywood staff and more often, a leafblade. A curved handle and S-shaped blade, patterned after the leaves of mallorn trees. It obeys her thought more than her touch, and is deadly in the hands of an Itsari such as herself. There are two prongs that sink into her palm when she uses it, and two more on the blade to catch the enemy's own weapon. Bio: Born of the Blue Mage and an elfin mother, Lethe has lived a life of both wandering and learning. She studied under both her father and mother's hands. From her mother she has learned how to speak directly with the animals of the land and the birds of the air. From her father, she has learned how to wield the leafblade, the cherrywood staff, and magics of many styles. However, her magic is destined to remeain practical and non-flashy...something she's resigned herself to. As of now, she travels on the back of a huge black Shire [an actual draft horse breed, cute, I know] stallion and will discover her companions soon enough. Description: Tall and slender, wears black clothes and a belt of mythril and silver. Her skin is tanned from the elements, eyes like a midwinter storm, and a body to last throughout the years. When she rides, she wears leather pants and carries her staff like a spear. Her hair is usually tied back and braided carefully, it would only get in the way. In general, she is somewhat formidable looking. More than the average elf or human. Her horse is as mentioned, big and black, with silver feathering on his hocks and mane and tail. He won't stand for any saddle, but allows Lethe to put a bridle on him, without a bit.

Loren sighed, then whipped her leg around and gave Neil the promised kick to the nuts. He doubled up in agony, and she preened. Neil: Oh you bîtch. Loren: ....I told you not to call me sweetie. And I do not hop around like a bunny when I fight. I hardly did any of that anyways.... Neil: Life was easy with the Oracle then? Loren: I never said that. I had to keep on my toes, and study hard. Neil: You would think otherwise. Loren: You get used to it. And my training was not exactly combat.
-
Her fingers instantly twisted themselves around his wrist and she flung him up into the air. As he became airborne, she swept both her legs underneath him and did a perfect handstand, connecting with his waist. He ignored the pain and landed, staggering slightly. She smiled and flipped forwards, landing in the splits, arms held out gracefully. He grimaced at her inhuman flexibility and waited. Before he started thinking about becoming bored, he noticed a sharp pain in his lower back and looked over his shoulder. Loren was standing there, her palm implanted on his spine. His reaction carried her over his head and onto her back. She rolled away from his kick and landed on her feet. He made a grab for one and twisted viciously outwards. She made no grimace of pain and simply looked at him. Ballet training had conditioned her turn out to more than 180 degrees. This was nothing.
-
Her faint smile spoke volumes. She might be an expert at communications, but not exactly with the opposite sex. He grinned at her, and she blushed and coovered her face with the side of her hand. Flash: Oo... Loren: Shut up.
-
Loren Fingeon entered silently, padding in on the balls of her feet, cushioned by leather. Neil didn't notice her leaning against the wall behind him until he was finished spouting. As soon as he was done, he turned around. She gave him a lazy look over and raised a hand in greeting. Neil: When did you come in? Loren: Half way through. He stared at her, then caught himself and returned his focus to her pale eyes. Loren: I was told to come here. By the Oracle. Flash: She's alive? Loren: Quite. I've been learning many things from her. But I've come here to finish my training. I hope you don't mind.
-
Her eyes narrowed at the insult, and for a moment, they seemed more demonic than human. With smooth lazy steps, she traced a circle around him, fingering the chain links on her belt. When she spoke, her voice was audible to him alone. Shalistrae: The same goes to you....because I'll be chewing on it. Neil: ..... With a light flip of her legs, she stepped closer to Astreé and waited patiently. The younger of the two took the hint and led them closer to the house. She kept up a delicate stream of small talk, but not enough to worry them. Shalistrae lingered outside before stepping in. There was a scent in the air she couldn't quite place.
-
Astreé inclined her head, before she looked out past them and saw something else walking forwards. Tall, but decidedly female by the looks of it. She could hear the sound of metal clinking against metal, and the smell of leather and delicate moonflowers rose from the air. Once she was about half way there, the figure stopped and put one foot slightly behind the other. Astreé: ...is that you Shalistrae? The figure's eyes flashed silver and she bowed deeply, tipping the ground with her fingertips and turning around to face them once more. Neil stared. For a moment, she had reminded him of either a bad dream, or a reptile he had seen a long time ago. Shalistrae: Hello Astreé. I heard the gunshots....but obviously arrived too late. I would've shown up earlier if I had known you would be entertaining... Her pale, clear eyes washed over the three men.....then she smiled slightly. The teeth she showed were perfect, save a streak of blood on her left canine. Astreé: What happened to you then? Shalistrae: The usual. I was wandering, got attacked, impaled a few men here and there....you know the story. Astreé: Did you bring me a gift then? The older woman nodded and reached into her rucksack. With a deft flick of her wrist, she tossed something to the girl. It glinted palely, then came to rest in Astreé's palm. A perfect snake armlet, with sapphire eyes. The whole thing seemed to glare into her eyes....then it was normal once more. Shalistrae: Happy Birthday.

With the pressure of Jaudiar's knife, the threat of Siren loosing her temper, and Rae's child-like eyes, he spilled his guts. All of them. Everything he had known, been told, and thought for himself became transparent. Rae caught everything with her recording device, Jaudiar picking up every bit of his body language, and reading his eyes. Siren smiled and nodded here and there, accenting his story with "mhmms" "oh yes" and "of courses." It was a rather long time before he was done....and when he was, Rae took the hypodermic needle from the inside of Jaudiar's heel strap and calmly inserted it into his mouth. He struggled, then passed into a deep coma. The girls picked up everything and took off....unseen and unheard. Once they made it to the relative safety of their room, they played back everything. ~~~~~ Man: What about the older sister? ???: Keep away from her, she's hell on wheels. Man: And the defected one? ???: Same goes for her, except she's unafraid of death. Man: So what's her connection to the target? ???: It is affectionate, but unclear. It could cloud her judgement. But because it is her, it might not. Either way, steer clear. *static* How I do is nothing great. ~~~~~~ Jaudiar: That explains a bit. Rae: Hang on, there's more. Siren: Play back the last bit. It sounds wrong.

And as this once beautiful RPg sank down into horrible oblivion, Raiha turned to Warlock and muttered, "I told you this would happen."

It was alright....not my favorite of your works, but it was up there. Rather depressing of course, reminded me of the begining to Daredevil.
-
I feel very happy now, how about you? Rather depressing, but at least it had a big ending. If I were you, I'd avoid using the word "suddenly." It's a major downfall for many writers. Also, try doing active voice. Example: Non active voice: "Jim was shot by Joe." Active voice: "Joe shot Jim. Hahaha." Well, sorta like that. It makes it more interesting to read. Otherwise, great plot. Really uplifting.

Name: Shalistrae Sevenstar Nickname: Shali Age: Uh....do I have to tell? Oh fine, 20 Description: Slender, pale skin, washed out silver eyes, roughly 6'1", 118lbs., and short brown hair. Commonly seen wearing black flares, boots, gloves, and a tank top. However, she also has this thing with silver, hence, she wears a silver chain-link belt, earings (three peircings on each ear), and a simple cross pendant on a cubed chain. Personality: Generally calm, and undisturbed, thanks to long years of wandering. There are three things she fears in the life she lives, one of them being the demons that took her sister, the other two are not easy to explain, so I won't. She is able to look beasts in the eye, and more often than not, they look away. People who meet her say that she's more beast than human, and her eyes seem to remind them of some sort of animal, be it death adder or another reptile. No one can tell, and Shalistrae wouldn't anyways. Weapons: The chain around her waist, two concealed handguns, the pendant in her left ear is actually a dart, and the spring loaded sheath on her back hides her slingblade. Her weapon of choice is the chain, obviously. Bio: Partially glanced over in the above section, but she is already....a wanderer. She also tends to higher places, to observe everything below, then decide which is the best place to attack from. As of family, her parents disapeared, and her sister was the only living kynn. Beasts took her, and also the better part of Shalistrae's life. Now that her sister is gone, Shalistrae will never love, nor let herself feel any emotion akin to it again. Some people have it hard. ~~~~~~~~~~~ A rough example of what she looks like: just not blond...and no pointy ears... http://www.drowtales.com/crap//mayaStand.jpg

Shalistrae was smiling again, showing feral teeth beyond her normal size. The claws of her hands were beginging to slide out of her fingers of their own acord.... He stared. Shalistrae: ....sorry. It's been awhile. Rail: Since? Shalistrae: I've been touched. Rail: Do you always react like that? Shalistrae: .....sometimes.

Jaudiar sighed with resignation and turned to their most recent aquisition. He whimpered under her silver lidded glance, and began to resemble a puddle of quivering jelly. Rae smiled like a child and nearly giggled, until Jaudiar's nails started moving towards his throat. He gasped and began to speak. Man: I know nothing I swear! Jaudiar: Does the name...Ananda....ring any bells? Man: No! Jaudiar: What about Liam? Man: ....none. Jaudiar: You're lying. Tell the truth. Now. Man: .....I...I...can't. Rae: Why not? Man: They'll kill me. Jaudiar: Believe me, they won't kill you. Not yet anyways. I'll give you ten more seconds before I start ripping off the first layer of skin......

Shalistrae smiled and took the oppertunity. Moving with blurring speed, she crouched to the bole of the tree and swooped her leg out underneath his feet. He plummeted to the ground and landed on his feet just in time. He looked up at her laughing face....and waved. Rali: That wasn't nice. Shalistrae: ...sorry I couldn't help it. Sheep. He smiled and quietly climbed back up, ignoring her low whispery chuckles. ....they distinctly reminded him of something from too long ago.

The Rasper's hawks circled their territory quietly. The landcrawlers were retreating.....and their harsh voices were receeding just as quickly. They conversed together in their own rough language before Bolred appeared. The huge female cathawk clacked her beak together. Their movement quickly stopped and they dipped their wings in tribute to their mistress. She looked at them with gold flecked eyes.....then took off on silent wings. Nepenthe looked at Bolred's moving form. No doubt she had just prevented a swift attack. Jenica's voice bounced through the trees as they moved, and was passed along by the zephyrs. Siren: What is it Nepenthe? Nepenthe: Nothing. Let's keep moving. I have a bad feeling......about those hawks. Kato: ..... His eyes flickered and his shape flared back and forth until Laitina shoved him and he assumed his humanoid form. Laitina: Take care of it....you can't change right now. Nepenthe: ...we're coming Jenica. Get ready. As soon as they were within shouting range of the house, harsh cries filled the air and they saw three Rasper's hawks attacking a wildly thrashing girl..... Jenica: RAGGHH!! Nepenthe! NOW IS GOOD! Nepenthe whirled into the air and brought her staff into play. The birds hit the ground, half stunned and aching. The nephil's hair was blowing wildly in the wind created by her wings...and she her rage was loud.

Gurg.......damned parents. Taking away my access. Forcing me to methods of subterfuge and deceit. Wake up and smell the Shalistrae when you feel like it Medra....and take heed of this plot exposition here. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Kryas the Dorobo witch was up to her usual meditations. She was an older woman, with long white hair and pale silver eyes, watched the movements of her brother. He was about the same age as she, with a firmly muscled body and graceful movements. She sighed and tucked her hands into the long sleeves of her dress. She could see the three as clearly as anything, and she was focusing on the one that was the key to everything. As he continued his shadow boxing, she spoke her thoughts outloud. Kryas: Do you think we can stop the burning Lehre? Lehre: ...perhaps. We must not interfere yet. Paradoxes are best avoided. Kryas: What about the inteference caused by the death adder? She was a twist in the string. Lehre: She is part of the plan. You saw how quickly she drew out the child's true power. Kryas: It was strange...but could it have just been another illusion? Lehre: No. The one with them is soothed with her presence. That is no illusion. We've both seen it. Kryas: The child's only living relative might have something to say if he found out we were also watching. Lehre: He won't be finding out. What with your powers and mine combined....he would stand a chance. Kryas: ......let us not become over confident Lehre. She smiled thinly at her brother and tapped the light scar on her forehead. He grinned and continued with his tai chi. His twin sister was usually right....even if she had that all knowing tone when she said anything worthwhile.

Shalistrae laughed with pleasure and willed her dragon to land. He did so lightly, barely upsetting the earth around him. Everyone, except maybe Rali, stared. A simple half hitch knot around his windpipe, the lead held in her hands, and he was tame. She smiled broadly, then bowed low. Ryan: We are not taking that with us. Shalistrae: PLEASE?!?!?!? Laitina: That thing is a murdering machine! Shalistrae: This thing has a name.... Rali: And what would that be? Shalistrae: ...his name is Pennace. She crossed her arms and pouted.
-
She swooped and spiraled out of the way, before loosing her sword and clenching the three pronged handle. Just as she was ready to graze his side, the sun rippled twice. And the rising minstrel called. And the dew fell to pasture, and the Rapsers hawks took to the sky. Siren: ...they'd better hurry up. Nepenthe: We continue this little spar later. Let's go. Laitina: They're coming.... Kato: Mhmmmmff....
-
Rali: Sorry, it goes against my grain. The female licked her claws lazily and purred. He was, despite her initial reluctance, starting to grow on her. She smiled and savored the bitter taste of blood in her hands. He watched her quietly. Shalistrae Lifé seemed very calm, but inside, he could sense a sort of smouldering resentment towards the packs of humans near them. Rali: Do they bother you? Shal: A bit. Rali: Why? Shali: When they're all together...humans resemble sheep. Rali: And are you the shepherd? Shali: Haha no. It stands to reason. The spider clan is separated, and only comes together once a year...or to fight.

Jaudiar expertly hooked her arm around Serric's and paraded him around like a show dog. He tried escaping, until she ground his foot with her spike heel. Siren snorted and started to turn purple, then Rae came to herself and flicked her exposed side. The two had a silent eye spar, before Jaudiar marched through and ended it. Rae: What? Jaudiar: Grow up. Siren: Look who's talking. Jaudiar: Just go get the job done. My feet hurt.

Shalistrae pointed her palms at the drake rushing her, howling just as loudly as he....... His huge jaws opened, and she muttered her incantation speedily. Instantly, they locked and clamped down on his tongue. His whole body froze up, and he hit the ground....only to shatter into a few thousand peices. She laughed, her eyes ringing with mirth....then leapt up and flipped backwards, right onto the back of another. With a light movement, she flicked off her chain link belt and whipped it over her head, then down across the drake. In two quick half hitches, she half shut his windpipe, then wrapped her left hand across his horn and jerked to the right. Immediately, the drake turned....reduced to a steed of the air for Shalistrae's personal use. She smiled and whipped it upwards, then down again. He whinned through clenched jaws and she stroked it's horn lightly. Shalistrae: If you're good, I might let you survive..... Laitina: Hey Shalistrae! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?!? Shalistrae: Making friends?
