When Marth came to, he was vaugely aware of a fire crackling softly, and a smooth quite voice whispering a soft song. The words were Quenya....flowing gently over his ears, leaving him feeling completely at peace. He opened his eyes and saw Lethe sitting next to the fire, toasting a slice of waybread over the fire. Her back was too him, but that was enough to show him that she was wearing her tunic opened across the front slightly. He blushed, then looked away. Lethe: Did you sleep well? Marth: ...how did you know I was awake? Lethe: You stopped snoring. Marth: I do NOT snore! Lethe: ....you do too. Marth: ....*sigh* Lethe: Have some breakfast. *gestures* He helped himself to the toasted bread and apples she held out. After a few minutes, he was done....wiped his mouth, and folded his blankets. Lethe: So...you want to know how I know you.... Marth: Yes actually... Lethe: Well, I visited the courts of your father a long while back, when he was still true to his bloodline. But...after a time, namely the death of his wife, he changed. You didn't notice...but I did. Marth: What about my mother? And when did I see you? Lethe: I watched you sometimes...training all the time...ignoring your family. He refused to make eye contact with her. All the words she had spoken were completely true, and they burned. Lethe: Sorry. Marth: No, keep going. Lethe: When I was very young, my parents fell in the Lisar Ogre wars. Remember? Marth: That was at least 200 years ago! Lethe: ....I'll say it again. When I was very young.... Marth: Okay. What does that have to do with my mother? Lethe: The queen took me....when my parents fell fighting. She pulled me from my home. Eluded both Lisar and Orges to save me from the bands of warriors, despoiling the land. If it wasn't for her, I would probably be in some Ogre camp, chained to a wall..... Marth: ...a life debt... Lethe: I vowed to aid her if I could. She laughed and told me to save myself for someone more worthy. Like her son. So I did. And she died a birthing death before I could come help her. Marth: Nothing can stop death. Lethe: .....natural death. I can save those who have died up to 24 hours....I was too late. And that was when your father changed. So of course, I took to wandering again, rather than let his malice affect me like it affected you. Marth: ...........oh. Lethe: I'm sorry. She looked at him quietly, her eyes flickering in the growing sunlight. He looked away, he didn't need compassion. Lethe divined his thought, then looked back into the fire. She murmered a few well chosen words, then stood up, stretching slowly. Then she shouldered her rucksack and extinguished the fire.

Lethe smiled to herself. Then she rose to her feet and wrapped her cloak around her body. She stepped forward silently, making neither noise, nor scent. In an instant, she leapt upwards, and came down, feet planted firmly on Marth's shoulders. He fell to the ground, and in that instant, Lethe had her sabre out, point scraping lightly across his neck. Lethe: You know...if you were that desperate you could've just asked. Marth: *gag* Lethe: I don't like being robbed. Especially by those who are supposed to be of noble blood. ...... Marth: Going to kill me? Lethe: I would. Normally. But since I owe your mother a life debt, I won't. Marth: She's dead. Lethe: ....navar telimore. Nara lethine, giratara eth. (She saved me. Now I give the gift of life to you.) She sheathed her blade and pulled him to his feet; taking the liberty of removing her money from his grasp. Bringing her face uncomfortably close to his, she looked deep into his eyes....her glare penetrating deep into his mind. In an instant, she had placed both her hands on the sides of his face. Murmering in a tounge unknown to him....a sliver of light passed between her mind and his. Then she slowly withdrew and grinned at him. Marth: ...... Lethe: When was the last time you let a Shadowcon touch you? Marth: ...I wasn't aware. Lethe: Exactly. He had you in his grasp. Another day and you would've abandoned all reason. Probably would've slit my throat. And stole my money. Marth: ..............sorry. Lethe: Hungry? Marth: What? Lethe: Read my lips...H-u-n-g-r-y-? Marth: A bit. Lethe: .... She smiled and reached into her rucksack...

Short black tunic, belted with an chain of silver. Brief Dis.Of Elemental: Agile, extremely flexible, and cold. Her eyes change and become completely and totally clear, giving out a cool light. Her skin becomes almost translucent and her body becomes both taller and more lovely. ;) [If possible.] Staff Discription: Comes up to her eyes, the top is carved in a barbed spear style...forged from the metal of a fallen star, wound about with a soft ivory ribbon, completely impossible to destroy. Translation: "She, Uthwine of Spirit comes to seal the soul." Summon Scene: A soft light bursts around her body, then her form becomes shrouded in energy. At this point, her words echo once, like the ringing of bells. Then the words, "Uthwine eth nilthangiel." are heard once more, much louder this time. Her sillouhette appears, then lengthens and assumes her next form. Her garments are tossed around by the breeze her energy creates, then her staff solidifies and becomes brighter. She reaches out a hand and clenches it tightly, bringing it to rest just in front of her body. When the light fades, her hair and tunic blow back in the zephyr one last time and her eyes open slowly.... Weapons: Her staff doubles as her weapon. Hence, she is an experienced spear fighter.

Lethe tensed her muscles and the hair on the back of her neck prickled. She could sense a body behind her....moving forwards. Swifly assessing the aura of the being, she stepped off the path and concealed herself in the branches of the nearby mallon tree. Marth walked up the path quietly, moving as only an elf can....then he stopped, and looked to both sides of the path. Lethe dropped to the ground silently, body swaying slightly....like a flower in the wind. Lethe: Tulme eth Lethe. Nai? Marth: ....Marth. Why do you speak Quenya? Are you an elf? Lethe: I'm elfin born. Same as you. Although I must admit that I am not as high born as you. Marth: Well, I don't give a damn about my blood lines. Lethe: Given who your father is...I understand. But that does not explain why you didn't reconise me. I've seen you before. Marth: I never saw you. Lethe: *shrug* Where are you going? Marth: Nowhere. Lethe: The let me acompany you on your aimless wanderings. Marth: Don't need it. Lethe: ......havas no haustin. She bowed her head lightly and turned to go.

Valeigh inhaled slowly, then breathed out. Immediatly, her hand dropped down to her sheathed blade and the hair on the back of her neck prickled. Rico: What is it? Valeigh: I can smell something in the air.....I don't like it. Rico: A Bantis? Valeigh: No...it's cloying....the scent of.. She took another step forward, and stumbled across a decaying carcass.....the skull's flesh had rotted to nothing, leaving gapping holes....staring into oblivion. Valeigh: DEATH! She clasped both hands to her mouth, fighting down the nausea. Valeigh: Ugh...that is so disgusting. Rico: What killed it? Valeigh: ...I can't tell, there's too much blood in the air.

 Alright, an RPG....haven't played one in months..... ~~~~~~~~~~ Name: Lethe (pronounced Leth-ah) Senica (Sin-eh-cah) Sevenstar Age: 200 (in normal time, about 17) Species: Elfin Weapon Type: Sempatsu (Can revert to a simple sabre) Magic Type: Spiritual Dragona Color: Ivory/Silver Symbol: Two jagged scars underneath the left and right eye, when they get closer to the sides of the face, they slice downwards to the end of the earlobes. Bio: By rights, Lethe is a wanderer, and a mercenary. There are few who know she is actually on of the elfin people, her ears were scared badly in battle, so badly in fact, there true shape can not be determined. Later on, she discovered that she had the power to bring healing to any who was in need. At times, she even can reserect the dead, but only if they have been killed by a wound, not a natural death. However, this expends a great deal of her energy and the only way for her to regenerate is to sleep. Lethe's parents died abnormally young, both fell in the great Lisar and Ogre wars. Because of this, she has learned to fend for herself very early in life. Some could say that she is emotionally scared from this experience, but she hotly denies it, claiming that she is fine. Her Maternal instincts are high, which means that you will often find her healing any wounded animal that crosses her path. But that is about as far as her compassion extends, unless she knows you personally. When she is angry, her eyes glow blue, then change directly to silver. Because of this, she can also see in the dark. Her main talents appear to be calling people back from the shadow world. When she uses her magic, her speech reverts entirely to Queenya, making it difficult for those around her who are not elfin to understand. Because she has such a love for her traditional language, she often visits the courts of Elfin King Orthar. There she is accepted as on of their own...making her life much easier to bear. In short: "Tulme eth Lethe. Latcha meh Escrabir." "My name is Lethe. Let me be myself."

Bring me a smile, It will not stop the longing. Give me your heart, It will fade to nothing. Show me your love, It will find an endning. Allow me to sing, It will tear the soul. Revive me in your mind, It will close itself. Hear me out, It will never close the door. Let me live life, It will be entertaining. I promise. -
And I say .....free coffee for all!!! And while I'm at it, a little plot exposition. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Raiha watched the universe slowly change it's form......her hands clasped together tightly. In her minds eye, she could visualize Warlock's face, Mechery's penetrating stare, and Cinoris's calm countenance. Mechery: Are you ready? Raiha: ...the queen of a vanished world is ready. Mechery: I'll still be around, even if nothing remains. Raiha: Good. I take it you'll recreate Laporin? Mechery: Of course. But as for you..... Raiha: I'd rather become a fallen star. Mechery: You might not die...not just yet. Raiha: I've gone as far as my mortal frame will allow. I'm the ruler of a vanquished world, the daughter of a Laporin and a Sayjian, and have nothing to lose. But we still won't win. Will we? Mechery: I can't say.

She had her hand clutched between her knees with her head down, hair hanging over her face like a veil. Blue blood trickled down her arm and tears of pain ran down her face, both touching the soft-packed earth. Rico knelt closer towards her hand with a white piece of cloth. With his other hand, he lifted her face. Rico: ?? Valeigh: :( With the lightest of touch, Rico took her bleeding hand and b egun wrapping the bandage over her arm, putting almost no pressure, careful not to hurt her anymore than she already has. She still felt the pain of the bandage against her wound...but she knew that Rico had good intention. She bit her lip, trying hard not to cry out. The tears kept falling though, she was losing control over herself. Spyder: Athen can wait...I take it he can break through. Harlequin: I'm thinking that was his original intention...that he wanted to be captured. Valeigh's lower lip began to bleed slightly, incurring more wounds. Rico: I'm almost done...it's okay...I'm here...

Valeigh surveyed the wreakage with her swordpoint. There seemed to be several major signs of struggle, but no signs of survival..... Rico: Ee....looks like he put up a good fight. Valeigh: Oh this is so disgusting. She flipped over a very deceased corpse. Flies buzzed around the "head" and maggots crawled through the chared flesh, feeding wildly. Suddenly, Valeigh dropped her blade, and fell backwards, head over heels. She screamed aloud, then bit down on her hand and smacked to the side. Harlequin: Another Bantis Punhar..... Valeigh: It hurts...

Aster sidded through the halls, then locked herself in one of the side rooms. Once inside she threw open her backpack and rumaged around, shifting several things at once. Then she pulled out a fresh tunic and slipped it on. With a few deft movements, she tied on her braided leather belt and adjusted the silver clasp. Then Aster brushed out her hair and tied it back again, twisting the sides back then tucked under. She surveyed her reflection in the mirror. Nothing much had changed. Same thick silver hair, same white skin, same purple tunic....same rose eyes. Aster: ...I hope you succeed Fladra. For your loved ones anyway. She turned and walked out of the room, securing her backpack in one of the lockers. Then she turned and opened another door. Sairo was sitting down, one of his hands resting easily on his wrist. Astralyas sat down in front of him, legs folded underneath her gracefully. She pulled out one of her braids and began to twist the strands of hair lightly. Aster: So.......I get to test myself against you next. Sairo: That would be correct. Are you ready? Aster: Certainly. I look forward to it. Fladra and I hardly stressed ourselves. Sairo: You don't have an employer do you? Aster: I killed him personally. That b@stard was putting his hands where they didn't belong. Sairo: Heh, I can see where that leads. Aster: Do you think I'm worthy to face you? Sairo: No. Aster: Then you underestimate me. In one fluid movement, Astralyas rose to her feet and bowed gracefully, then she glided out of the room, calm, cool, collected. Sairo jumped forward and whipped her around, hands on her arms. She looked up into his face, her hair flying around her shoulders. Her rose colored eyes quickly flashed from rose to silver, then back again. Aster: Take your hands off me Sairo. I'm not interested in you. Sairo: You flatter yourself! Aster: I know what you did to Lauren. You were almost enjoying it! She twisted out of his grasp, eyes flashing dangerously. In a quick movement, she slapped her hand down on his face then whirled around, arms crossed. Aster: ...........I have nothing more to say to you. Sairo: ....

Writing Today's Poem [M -- As a Precaution]

I close my eyes, Seeing what I only wanted to hear, But when they open again, The dream has vanished. It was all just an illusion, A trick of the light, Or lack of it, And I am sorrowed. I open my heart, And something comes in, But when I try to listen, It leaves my soul. So don't look back, Don't miss the entrance, Because another night, Will be too late. -
Aster entered the women's section of the prep room, then promptly doubled up, laughing. Fladra snickered, then climbed out and met up with her there. She leaned on Aster's shoulders, both of them shaking with the hilarity of it all. Fladra: We're shams, both of us! Aster: *gasp* At least it was strenuous! Fladra: Eheh, ah well, I must be going now. Aster: Good hunting. Fladra: Right. She jumped out of the nearby window and quickly disapeared. Aster watched her leave, strangely quiet.
-
Aster folded her hands gracefully and looked down, hair falling around her face. She mouthed the words to herself. The Lights go down don't lose yourself. It's over, is it all over now? Without another word, she exited the ring, head still bowed hands clasped together. Blue stared at her as she left, but didn't say a word. Fladra: .....Can I get up now? Aster: Let them carry you out. Then split. Fladra: Oh. Okay.
-
Astralyas's foot glowed blue and she kicked upwards, sending the attack into the air. After the explosion, she stared right back at Fladra and winked. Fladra: Well? Aster: I don't have an employer anymore. Fladra: Did you ever? Aster: Well...the mainframe was destroyed; compliments of me. And since I wasn't programed to obey....a major fault of my creators, I don't exactly have an....erum....sense of morals. But I do now, and my "parents" are part of a certain crater in the southwest islands... Fladra: So you destroyed them. Aster: Basically. Fladra: So who dies? Aster: If I get this right...neither of us. It could be a draw, or I could just knock you out and pretend you died. Fladra's eyes opened wieder, this was an idea she hadn't thought of before. Sure it was dishonest, but it saved both of them alot of trouble. Without another word, Astralyas tilted her hands, palms up and screamed. A huge firebrand shot down from the sky, bounced against her palms, then shot towards Fladra.
-
OO!! Fangsill. I like the way that sounds....it's eeeeeevil! Keep going.
-
Aster threw up the shield as fast as the attack hit, then countered with her own. When the dust had cleared, both were still standing, barely hurt. Fladra: So we are fighting because...? Aster: The Glory! She winked. Obviously, that wasn't the reason, but it was good enough. Fladra: Really?!? Aster: No, I guess it does the guys good to see two really cute chicks battle it out. Although I'm sure they're thinking that we're just a pair of weaklings. Cute, but weaklings. Fladra: ...*groan* I think you're right. Aster: Ah well, at least we can look like we're trying to kill eachother. Fladra: Deal. Conversation over, the two women flew at eachother again, fists raised, aura's snapping dangerously. When they collided, the auras twisted together, crackling against themselves, searching for flaws. The women fired beams siemotaneously, the aftershock knocking both to the side. Aster wiped blood from her face and grinned slightly, showing pointed teeth. Aster: Now this is more like it! HELLSPAWN!

Well, you have to understand where John Steinbeck's works are coming from. When I saw the ending of the movie, I bawled my eyes out, along with my friends and my dad. [He's a softy too.]

Aster stepped forward hands resting on her swordbelt. Aster: I agree with Siren. Siren: Glad somebody does.... Jessi: As do I. Destyr: .........*spits to one side* Ken: ......... His face registered no emotion, but he remained calm. Blight looked at Aster's easy stance, then looked away. The group continued, Kojin's wounds healing rapidly...... Aster: ..........So...he kills angels.
-
Astralyas twisted in a tight circle, then whipped her arms around to hit Fladra's. The two began to exchange furious blows, back and forth, neither gaining the advantage. Suddenly, Aster broke away and smashed both fists down, beating against Fladra's shoulders. In the same instant, Fladra's hands connected with Aster's stomach. The two fell to the ground and landed on all fours. Immediatly Fladra looked up and blocked Aster's next attack. Fladra: You're better than you look. Aster: I know. I could say the same...but... Rue Arience... Several beams of energy concentrated into Aster's outstretched hands and surged forward, crashing against Fladra's exposed torso.

Aster landed in the ring silently, one foot poised slightly above the other. Fladra soon followed, her face serious and controlled. The two stared eachother down. Aster adjusted the belt of her tunic and shook her hair free. It fell around her shoulders in a cloud of silver. Fladra: Are you ready? Aster: Ready enough. ;) The announcer gave the word to begin and immediatly the two flew at eachother.......
