I went too. It was my first con and i didn't get hugged. I am going next year but i want to cosplay and bring more money. I went only for saturday so i only got to go to the rave but next year im going to do everything:raves , black and white ball, cosplay chess, karaoke, ect.
Word of advice. Avoid any and all Music Fest related things. Mostly the bands suck and the lines are ridiculous, plus no cameras anyway so for the same experience, you could go to youtube. And also not lose your hearing. Cosplay chess is fun, and if you're over 18 and into that sort of thing, the more 'adult' haha yeah right, events are hilarious more than they are obscene.
Today celebrated Video Games Day to the fullest. I played my PS2, Wii, Super Nintendo, Sega Dreamcast, and DS. Got a lot of gameplay in I guess you could say....oh well...tomorrow sugar cookies. yuum!!!
As my Ps2 is at my boyfriend's trading card shop I shall live up to myself in other ways! *digs around for DS Lite* ....*still digging* And I shall play Wow with my fellow guildies tonight at 9 pm when the Kilrogg server comes alive and I actually use ventrilo again. We'll probably do something inexplicably nerdy too. And while doing this I shall compose a letter to Jack Thompson and Ebert calling them misguided dingbats. *still digging...*

I searched but didn't find a World of Warcraft exclusive topic. And yes, this topic IS coming from me. ME! Your devoted Final Fantasy whore! Oh well. Try and stop me. Anyway this is a thread to find other fellow OB players. I dream of an OB raid worthy of Leroy Jenkins in which someone....*glare* gets us all slaughtered and we call them Leroy here for the rest of their lives. We can also discuss Cataclysm and any other significant events that you deem interesting. Like...what on earth would we call an all OB guild? Do you play PVP or PVE? Ever joined in Trade chat and felt bad for doing it? Killed n00bs over and over in a starting area? (and if you did, BAD BAD BAD DOG!) Oh right, the fourth option on the poll is Murloc. I play both Alliance and Horde in equal amounts. Draenei because if I'm going to watch someone's butt wiggling across my screen for 900 hours it's going to be a nice one. Troll because some of my rl friends are in a guild on Kilrogg and carry me through high level dungeons in a litter made out of spears and magic carpets. I've created, in order, Fire Mage (first roll, huge mistake), Enhancement Shaman with a dual spec for Healing (could be worse), and Beast Mastery Hunter (less of a mistake). I'm probably going to try making a Priest of some sort when Cataclysm comes because I'm determined to get better at healing. I play most of the time on Earthen Ring and Kilrogg, but my main (that I never touch) is on Argent Dawn. I have never joined in trade chat for anything but trading. And I've never done PVP because I dislike living in fear and dying a lot. As a fire mage I initially died more times than I could count. Good thing the game counts for me as if I needed reminding. Oh yes, have you ever met someone in real life you met through WOW? Met here is synonymous with date.

So there I was minding my own business, trying to wake up when I idly perused through my usual display of links and current events, to find this this gem just waiting for me. I was immediately grabbed by the headline, as well as the use of the term 'fan fiction' in a supposedly news worthy article. But no matter. I went on to read the article in question and aside from being totally repulsed by the image of Al Gore violently french kissing someone, I wondered. Is this woman insane? Or is Al Gore really a psychotic sex crazed fiend? Of course her insistence that he 'forced' her to drink Grand Marnier seems a little sketchy, unless she was an AA member trying to quit. But on the other hand, she could be telling the truth about someone who already appeared to be a little bonko wonko in the first place. Thoughts? Validations? Is this not the best headline ever? I liked the majority of it, but was frightened to death by the monkey. Seriously. Pretty sure my favorite part was the hard reset and accidental rebooting section. If only because my girlfriend speaks the language and was laughing so hard she cried. Which was contagious. I never chew my nails because the taste isn't like strawberries! Also I prefer to project an air of pissedoffedness, not nervousness. My bad habit used to be picking my nose when I was little because I was constantly congested with allergies. But that's been replaced by probably picking the occasional pimple. My acne was never horrible in high school/middle school and it's not bad now, so it's not really a bad habit that results in ...really bad things. Maybe I sleep too much...Actually I'm told I'm too impatient with incompetent people and should just tolerate their stupidity. It'll help when I'm deployed.
Hannah Montanna is dead but Miley Cyrus is still alive, with a hot new look! The Hannah Montanna starlet has ditched her Disney alter-ego and her new album is called Can't be Tamed. Do you think she will survive the transition away from her Disney character's shadow? Or will she fade away without that Hannah Montanna brand?
Well considering Miley Cyrus is hard to say, not exactly an attractive name, and doesn't even rhyme, I doubt she'll make it. Fingers crossed.

It's hard for her to hear down there in that barbaric wasteland. Anyway it's back to cold and windy up here. Which is nice, except again, with a broken car window, the temperature in my normally 90 degree car is now hovering around 50. At least my heater is effective.
-
Internal temperature hot enough to boil water. Note to self, avoid. Let's see, my car hasn't had an air conditioner that worked since 2007. My driver's side window is gone because a moron wannabe hippy crashed into my driver's side door. In short, driving in my black car is hot business. I try to drink water, but driving stick and unscrewing caps of bottled water is hard work.

So I read a few missives on the whole 3D aspect through Penny Arcade and other links. Project Natal was a much cooler name than the Kinetic crap they've replaced it with. G4 apprised me of that particular marketing mistake. In short, I'm not thrilled with all of this new fangled crap. I expect my games to lie there, effectively 2D, so I can feel less empathy when I put my foot through them in frustration. Also 3D technology has yet to appear in a cheap, feasible manner. Or in a way that doesn't give me a horrible headache. Why is 3D such a big deal anyway? The cost estimates and release dates appear to be all just random guesses anyway. I can't imagine that by the next fiscal year, someone's managed to throw together cost effective and pretty 3D tech for home use.

Dead Poetic, Modern Morbid Prophecies "And do you want this. And do you still need this. Like modern morbid prophecies fulfilled. Everything But The Girl, Five Fathoms "The only way out is down The only way up is down The days roll by like thunder like a storm that's never breaking All my time and space compressed in the low pressure of the proceedings And they beat against the sides of my life, like fists against the sides of my life, And the roads all lead behind me So I wrap the wheel around me and I go out" _____________ Often for me it is the method by which the words are sung to a particular melody, so if they'd simply been screamed I wouldn't have felt anything, but usually the haunting, lilting sound slowed down while the beat continues faster in the background presses my ear the right way. I finally got my act together and to celebrate my induction into the United States Navy, I bought and read Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters. My first impression was, "Sweet Jesus this language is dense." My second impression was, "Oh look a harpoon in a fish!" All in all, if you can wade through the muck of extremely awkward English as brought on by a non English major author trying to whip together something vaguely resembling the ocean AND a miserable love story, you'll like it. Also it helps to like fish. FISH FISH FISH ON EVERY FREAKING PAGE. Fish or monster fish, or crustaceans, or sea slugs. Sea Horses too. But not a single mention of sushi anywhere. I checked. That's not what I heard Korey. Something Ikillion said about snow. Where it doesn't snow. Anyway now it's hot again after two days of nice 60 degree weather. I finally hit on the genius plan of parking my laptop sized fan in front of the side window in my shared bedroom and shooting the ensuing stream of cold air right across the edge of my bed. It blows all my posters on the wall and all the pollen in a 10 mile radius right into my bed. But hey at least it's cool at night!

I saw the preview when I FINALLY watched Ironman 2 last Wednesday night and felt my soul dying within me. That being said the only A team I've ever seen was the one parody on Robot Chicken. My parents wouldn't let me watch the show for some inexplicable reason when I was growing up. Probably so I wouldn't turn into a psycho gun toting killer. Joke's on them. Either way I will probably watch it for sheer suspension of disbelief and entertainment value. I expect movies to make me gag with suppressed hatred and laugh in that helpless 'oh god what a kneeslapper' kind of way. ...replace knee though with balls. The balls of whichever guy makes me watch it with him.
Not sure on the exact details, but it's based on the Red String of Fate, which is said to be an invisible thread tying two fated soulmates together from the male's thumb to the female's pinky (Don't ask how they know it's red if it's invisible, I can't figure that one out, either). Also, it seems I was mistaken about the origin, it's actually a Chinese concept. It's very popular in Japan, though. There's even a Pokémon item that references it.
It's one of those impossibly outdated things that only our Chinese grandparents believe in, and even they've been worn down by years of living in America. The Red String item, pretty awesome. Anyway I found myself gagging into a paper bag, because I hate redheaded females. This is probably a personal problem, but it spilled over onto Naruto's mildly psychotic mom. Also, Naruto's inner self is probably more crowded than the posted picture. Just saying. It's freaking Grand Central Station in there, only nobody leaves. Bah. I miss violence.

Manga U.S. & Japan Bring Down the Banhammer on Pirates
Raiha replied to Kei's topic in Otaku Central
As people have said, I'm surprised it took the morons this long to get their act together. Record labels and music artists freaking out since Napster was launched should've been a tip off to them, or were they all so narcissistic they thought nobody would ever try to get a hold of their favorite manga scans before the US release date. [Year 3055]. Either way this doesn't affect me personally. My evil law breaking Chinese friends keep a sista hooked up. -
US and England draw 1-1. I have to confess I'm surprised. I was under the impression that those tea drinking imperialists yearly slapped us against the chopping board a few times before beheading us.
