She turned over, and found that she was back in her original bed, just with an extra blanket. Allen's visit had been good for her. He had held her tightly in his arms like before, just with a tenderness she had missed for a long time. She closed her eyes and felt the bandage slowly with one hand. It burned a little, but it wasn't half as bad as it had been before. As the ship was also repairing, she was on the mend, and she was sort of confused, but happy. It wasn't so bad being infirmed like this. Being waited on hand and foot really was all it was cracked up to be. "I could get used to this." Satell smiled and inhaled, the scent from the blankets was Allen's scent. She loved it.

Verse 1: So you were let down, It was all my fault this time, Even though I'm sorry, You can't forgive me. Bridge: And I'm so gone over you, You're so drawn over me. Chorus: Stay with me this time, Hold me in your arms, Remember I love you, Even when we cry. And the way I care for you, Even when you fight, For yourself and not for me, It's this reality. Verse 2: It's sad the way we dance, In circles around eachother, So very afraid, So unwilling to change. And I'm so gone over you, You're drawn over me. 2nd Chorus: Leave me again, Don't hold me in your arms, Remember I loved you, Even when we cried. And the way I cared for you, Even when you fought, For yourself and not for me, It was our reality. Not meant for me.

Satell sat up in bed, several hours later, hooked up to an IV, recieving salienated solution and fluids to replace her lack of eating. Her color, although far from the original dark flush, was slowly returning to normal. Van smiled at her and she returned it with one of her own dazzling ones. "Thank you." "Of course. ....your IPO was interesting." "A very interesting IPO I'm sure." "I forgot that I was dealing with an individual with signifigant medical experience..." She laughed softly, unwilling to put any more strain on her already drained body. Satell wiggled her toes and mentally planned out her next course of action. Trini had brought her her clothes and she was planning on changing as soon as Van gave her the green light. Allen stopped by while she was resting, the lights dimmed, and felt her forehead. ...she stirred ever so slightly, mouth partially open. He thought she murmered his name, but he wasn't sure.

They continued walking down the street, headed for the not so far away hanger, and they all heard the same distinctive sound. Clink. Clink. Clink. They were about to turn their heads and look when the Heyfon and Ctarl Ctarl hissed a warning. "Don't." The Ctarl Ctarl slowed her pace and smiled thinly. She slipped the kit and her knife to the others, then slowly turned around. "Go ahead, I'll catch up in a few." "Are you nuts?" "Yes actually." They picked up the pace, the Heyfon looking back with a sort of longing. As they turned their heads and were ready to cross the streets, they heard a wild howl and a screech that signaled a very obvious challenge. "Come out you bastard of a Sidhe Dog!" The humanoid leapt at her, stung by the insult, only to see her clench her body up and transform into a huge tiger-like creature with two tails. Her limbs were long and clean, her mane ruffling with her wild movement, bristling gold and red. She raised one claw and he charged. With a simple leap and turn, she landed on his shoulders, knocking him down to the ground. He felt the breath catch in his throat, and then she opened it with her mouth. The blood poured down over her limbs and she raised her head and bayed to the moon in a hideous ritual of life and death/

The shower did minimal aid to the glitter, and he moaned inwardly. It was at this point that he realized water was slapping down on his head, and the wound had slightly opened itself once more. The blood slithered down the side of his face, dripping down onto the stainless steel of the shower floor. He groaned inwardly and stuffed his shirt against it, rinsed, and got out. Boxers and a shirt pressed against his head, fist in his pocket to hide the lovely pink shade Zharra had so liberally applied. With heavy steps he made his way to her "office," where she and Bailey were drinking mixed wine, which was mostly just water. "What now? Need another topcoat?" "Not. Funny." She looked up, finally, and saw the wound on his head. With a stifiled curse, she leaned over and ripped the shirt away. The partially dried blood started up again and Zharra cussed him out in four different languages, including Portugese and French before she slamed his shoulders down into the seat and took out a shot of Fibrin. "What are you- AGH!" With an expert move she slid the needle around into his wound, penetrating more than one layer of flesh, and slowly depressed the top of the syringe. "If it wasn't for Rae...I'd rip your guts out right now!"

Her body wasn't decompressing, quite unlike earlier, but she wasn't improving either. Van took her temperature. It was falling rapidly, faster than he thought healthy for someone who had gone into ....fuck, shock. Trini rushed over and covered her with a heat sealing blanket. Satell didn't move, still passed out cold, nothing but the dense rattle of air escaping her lips. Two minutes later. Van pushed her hair back and felt her forehead once more. It was slowly warming up, but she still was a deathly pale, the color of death. The Captain returned with the blood packs, and Trini expertly hooked one up to an IV stand. Van took the needle in his palm, flicked her hand and prayed she had enough blood pressure to make her veins appear. She didn't. "Satell please...." The doctor and nurse both heard the plead in their Captain's voice. It was the most human sound they had heard all day. She sucked in air desperately, it still wasn't enough, but the oxygen wasn't going to work either...if her lungs were still shot.

Darling, Sam was already taken to sick bay by Trini and Van. We were alone from square one. ~~~~~~~~ She stood up slowly, then took a few shaky steps over to him and collapsed into his arms. Allen caught her swiftly and held her up against him. Her blood pressure was elevated, her breath coming fast. He looked at her, and saw her lips were starting to tinge blue. "I....I...can't..." "What is it?" She looked up at him, her eyes pleading with him for something he couldn't find, then she gapsed out the words. "Punctured...lung..?" He looked down and saw her lab coat stained with red. .....The Captain groaned and shoved his palm against the wound, sealing the leak in her lungs, which was hauntingly similar to the hull breach. She coudln't breathe, the air was escaping through the wound in her side.....and she could easily die if he didn't hold her still. "....hel-..." "Don't speak."

Poor darling, So ill and sad, Curled up in my bed, Whipering in pain because you don't know any better. Face flushed, So hot to touch, But my cool hands touch you, And you calm and close your eyes slowly. It's better, To have you warm here, Instead of shivering with the fever alone, Without your big sister here. So calm, You and me, Sepearatly together, My dearest little sister. -
She came out, drying her body off with the towel, rubbing vigoriously....it was a little cold. Brant looked over and his jaw slowly hit the floor. .... She looked fantastic, fresh out of the shower, dripping water onto the tile floor, her hair tied back so prettily in braids. Satell walked over to him and quietly undid the tape and drew out the needles with her own hands. She didn't flinch from the slight ammount of lbood and fluid welling up, but instead wiped it away with a cloth and bandaged his hand. "There..." "How did you know it was...what I wanted?" "I'm a mind reader...so sue me." She smiled at him, while he stared at her naked body, then looked into her eyes once more. She grinned at him and drew on her panties and slipped into her nightdress for the first time in a month. Purple satin falling over her body...butterfly embroidery. He was in love.

He voiced no reply, but the Communication's specialist did. "Concussion when the asteroid passed through his shoulder at a high velocity. ...blood loss when I finally got here. Only to find the hole and my lack of any good preperation." Van finished applying pressure to the wound and looked up calmly. "Lesson learned. ....who's driving this thing?" Satell walked over quickly and assumed quick control.... She had enough knowledge to prevent a collision with anything else. Trini and Van picked their fallen pilot up and walked out carefully. The Captain's voice registered in her ears. "The situation down there?" "It's under control Captain." "What happened exactly?" "Based on observation and audio alone, an asteroid ripped through Pilot Sam's shoulder, tore a hole, he fell, hit his head, blacked out. Trini and Van just took him to sick bay. I'm assuming temporary control of our flight." "I'm on my way."

His urgent voice was heared through her other channel. Satell hit the necessary clip and spoke in a calm relaxed voice, one quite unlike Van's. "I'm sorry the captain's not in right now, leave a message and I'll make sure he returns your call immediately." "That's not funny!" "I'm sorry Van, couldn't reisist. The answer is no, nobody has been injured yet. You may temporarily relax." "Thank. You." Van turned off the link and continued to the medical bay, slightly rifled at Satell's all condescending tone.....

"And you brought Her because...?" Their keen voices scathed against Rena's ears. This was worse than the Elders meeting. Some of the eagles were young and wild...but the ones in charge were the ancient venerable....half blind featherbags she had seen before. Crystal was about to speak when Rena took a firm stemp forwards, her footfall nearly shaking the entire compound. The reverberation was heard throughout the meeting place. "I am here by direct order of the "Land-based" Clones. They felt that travelling anywhere alone was not a good idea." "And what could you possibly do to help an Eagle?" The sarcasm stung, and she bared her teeth. ....it was at this point that several of the Eagle clones noticed how big she was, the fact that Crystal had been able to carry her up here in the first place not withstanding. Her voice rose to frenzied pitch, the catlike scream taking over as she put out her challence in a wild howl. "My name is K'Rena Yel Yoshai, born on the night of the Pleadies Movement. ...daughter of the Pantherborn's 7th house. You will know my name because I breathe. And you will respect me because I respect you. Although even that is rapidly diminishing....thanks to your lack of courtesy and good will." The fact that nobody had even heard of a Pantherborn coming up to their city...caused widspread consternation. A little shame, and quite a bit of fear.
-
She laughed uproariously, filling her lungs with the rushing air. "Makes me wish I was made into a vulture and not a panther." "Really..?" "No, not really." The two laughed companionably. Rena did have a sense of humor...along with her razor sharp wit and claws. And her smile. That chilled them all to the bone....with her presence, that made even the Elders flinch. Crystal beat her wings, catching the thermal upwards. "So why do you lead the cats?" "Because I am who they respect.....not by any real virture of my own other than my honesty." "I see.....you mentioned something earlier. What was it?" "Pantherborn. The ancient high class of pumas from South America and Asia. Ledgend involves the seed of the cat and human coming together to form incredibly powerful beings." "And you're one of them?" "....it can be argued." She smiled to herself.

"My brothers. The time has come for us to demand of the Faceless God the answers for the morrow. Have you all prepared yourselves?" "We have prepared." "...good." "Are you ready for the purification?" "We are ready." The Father superior raised up the bowl full of holy water, the same that the Lady Of The Pard kept in her lair, and left the table to walk down to the two lines of his charges. Upon each he made the sign of their god. The candle and the cross mingled. He dipped his thumb in the water and marked them on the forehead, the water dripping down to their eyelashes. To each he performed the rite until he reached one of the Brothers. As soon as the water touched his face, he screamed a horrible cry and began to burn. The Brethren and their Father drew back in surprise. Demonic creature in their sanctum. Burning away into nothingness, from the terrifying touch of the holy water. The flesh was seared from his bones, and he sank down and disspeared into the void from whence he came. Nothing remaining but sulfer and the scent of death. The Father poured the water down over the spot where he had stood and spoke along with his men. "Cursed you are. Bound by the Holy light that nver grows dim. Go down into the Abyss and do not return."

Zharra entered Rae's tent, hands over her eyes, half afraid of what she would see. Rae was overcome with a fit of the silent giggles, and clamped her hand over her mouth. Cautitously she spread her fingers and peeped out at Liam's new look. Stifling the urge to break out into fits of uproarious laughter, she leaned down and applied some of her dark red lipstick. Rae snorted, choked, and stuffed her fist into her mouth. Bradley walked in just in time to catch some pictures of Zharra giving Liam a full scale manicure. Bright pink nail polish.....applied with an extra coat of clear gloss. ".....perfect." She was purring now.....enjoying herself beyond all reason. Liam would kill them when he woke up. Which would be awhile. The Darvoset she gave him was extrra strong,.......she chuckled inwardly and finished up, blowing on them softly. "Voila, Liam. Pretty in Pink." "....I think I'm gonna bust a rib."

Like a shot, she was out of her seat, moving swiftly down the corridor that was soon seething with people rushing to their post. She took her seat at the console and punched a few buttons. Then she inserted her speaker into her ear and tapped the volume slightly. The echoes patched themselves through her ears and she began to get a picture of the asteriods coming through to them. Subspace echoes, definetly. She grimaced and braced herself. This definetly qualified as a bumpy ride. Allen: What's the damage? Satell:....subspace echoes. Big ones. Sam: Sounds fun. Satell: ...oh really? With a swift uplink, she wired the speaker to transmit through the P.A. system. Huge blasts and reverberations slammed through everyone's eardrums.

Writing Today's Poem [M -- As a Precaution]

Considering it's you... I'm highly flattered. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Running fast and far, Legs eating up the distance, Between my own world, And yours. Body transformed so quickly, Into something more suitable for you, To see with new eyes, So tainted. The form of a feline, Huge and unrestrained, Coming towards you, To consume. Prepared are you now? I see the fear, But laugh to myself, Because you. Asked for it. -
Although she appeared to be leading him down a dark corridor, the illusion was simple enough. They were headed for the entrance once more, covered by a sheet of vine and water. The futon looked more inviting than usual. Be it aphrodisiac or simple passion, Kenneth felt a smile spread across his face. She turned towards him, her body language speaking multiple volumes. He started to remove his remaining armour, then felt her hands on his neck. They were cool and searching, unclasping his breastplate. He didn't move, quite content to let her undress him rather materially. Her fingers easily slid off the iron buckles and unclasped the chains with very little effort. But really, was she slidding her leg against him or was it simply his over-active imagination at work? .....no, she was. Kenneth stifiled a groan. She was taking way to long....either she was doing this on purpose, or she was really very incompetent. He didn't have long to wait. She undid the last clasp and shoved him backwards, hooking her right toe around his ankle. The loud thud was quickly followed by a slow exhale from Rena's mouth that sounded suspiciously like a sigh of pleasure. He looked up and saw her slide down to his level, smiling the entire time, moving like a snake. "Is this what you were expecting?" "....Har-" Her tongue caressed the side of his neck slowly, left hand reaching up to cover his mouth, palm over his lips. Kenneth turned and was about to put his arms over her ample hips when he felt them grind against his own with some force...

Satell watched them through heavily lidded eyes. Instead of giving them rapt attention, which only a select few deserved, she was instead buffing her nails with her file. Her assistant looked bright enough. It was a minor plus. Given the apalling conditions, it looked like she was about to gain a great deal more experience... Trini Angelos. She hoped her name didn't reflect anything about her character. Otherwise sparks were sure to fly as soon as they were locked together in the sickbay. Without a bat of her eyelids, she flicked the dust from her nails onto the table top and brushed it onto the floor. Her white coat flared around her body with the swift movement, then settled back again. This was quite a day....

In the tall, high, crested monostary.....built in the ancient gothic style.....monks stood in lines. Chanting, fasting, praying, for the answers to come. The symbols of their faith were resting on the carved tabletop. Their Father, standing in his vestements, waiting patiently for the words to end, had a look of both rapture and pain on his face. The answeres would be forthcoming, he was sure of it. Just give their Faceless God a chance to respond, and the unthinkable would happen. The visions that had grown so dim with a slacking of faith, would solidify and give them all the Truth. The Truth that manifested itself every so often in the form of people. Places. And even inanimate objects. hence, the symbols of their faith. A carved golden bell, fashioned to resemble a flying bird, with its wings outstretched. An open book, its pages filled with red calligraphy. The scriptures. Held sacred and valued most highly. And on the right side of the book, in a gilded golden holder, was a large ornate candle. It burned slowly, tallow refusing to melt under the intense heat of the silver flame. The Father Superior rested his hands on the worn table top and looked out over his Brethren. They waited for him to give the signal. As the sunlight faded at last, filling the room with a red gold glow from the windows, he raised both hands up. The voices died away instantly, and he smiled. "....let it begin. .....to Him be the glory, power, and honor." "He is the same Yesterday, Today, and Forever." "Amen." "Amen."

How odd that I was thinking just before reading your post...that nobody ever said that they read my work....ah well. Call it an ego boost if you will, which is highly appreciated. *curtseys in your direction* ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The music is churning, 180bpm, Subwoofers doing their job, Soundtechs in heaven. I'm one of them, Not the icons on stage, But the techie in the background, Fiddling with the spotlights. Turning the discs, Importing the files, Running the slides, Relishing the challenge. And when the last song starts, I'm the one that leaps to my feet, And sings aloud with the crowd, Because it's what I love to do. Behind the scenes. -
The cats responded to her leadership with lighting alacrity. They fanned out, then loped to various positions in and around the city. Nobody bothered them, they apparentlly were on some sort of mission. The Elders knew them, at least the larger ones, and let them be. ...they had "bigger fish to fry." Rena followed Crystal easily, the clones parted for her, as she was easily the largest creature on four legs in the city itself. By keeping her body centered inside of Crystal's falling shadow, she could run without looking up. Nothing was ever easier, except maybe eating the flesh of wild oxen. ....speaking of which... She turned her head to one side and let the wind fill her ears, rushing into a loud hum that constrasted sharply with the soft inhilations she allowed herself. Without breaking into a pant, she kept her paces until the two; bird and beast, had reached the first echelon. Rena smiled and braced her legs. "Well then..." "Are you ready?" "Bring it."

"Don't kill the ambassador again. ...and while we're on the subject...that gang leader was worth quite a few wong." She tossed an industrial size calculator into Kaia's lap. She picked it up an carefully examined the figures. Whistling through her teeth, and smiling at the same time, this definetly made up for the shitty day. Put together the android the Ctarl Ctarl had nixed, and now her latest kill... 9,000 all togther. Kaia stood and whisked her tail along the side of her leg. "My day has just improved..." "Go cash in. ....and if you pass a store, get me another hairbrush. Mine broke." The Heyfon eyed Senrai's long aburn hair. ....braided down her back and curled under, sealed with a simple silver ring. "I can't imagine why..." "Hormones." Kaia stared for a moment, then started chuckling under her breath. At least her sense of humor stretched that far. She clicked the side of the the calculator, scanning in the corpses carefully. Then she shouldered her pack and departed quietly. "Don't forget." "....of course not."
