"Think about it. If we don't have a full crew....it'll come back to bite us on the ass." "...yeah, well they're probably too stupid to man a ship if they're always late like this." The Ctarl Ctarl gave her a withering look. In her lifetime, she had been privy to the secrets of the Ctarl Ctarl Empire....old mission logs, failed runs, stragegies that worked, strategies that were bunk..... ...and she was amazed at Kaia's simplicity. While she didn't plan on tweaking her any more than was necessary to give her a little pleasure, she did plan on pointing out her flaws with laser like accuracy. .....she knew her own weaknesses, sure as hell. ....and this was fun. At least compared to translating languages from scratch.....all day long. Trace stood between them. "If you want to go out to the dock, go right ahead. I'll wait here." "Fine!" Kaia stalked off, simmering with both anger and a little sadness. Senrai Ley Ley smiled slightly and sat down again.

She smiled softly and cleaned up the dishes. As usual, she had inhaled her meal before he had woken up and spent the rest of the time dusting her already sterile room. There was no real reason to do it, nor was there a reason for her to sit on the now communal bed and start combing her hair. Using the olive wood brush she had been given years ago, she began to untangle the various kinks and knots created quite spectacularly by serious stress and hard work. Within the hour she had it shinning and shimmering once more. Without a qualm she braided the majority of it up again in small braids, twisting them around to contour to the shape of her head smoothly. Her apperance was once more, hip. Acceptable in the eyes of others, her own style showing through quite perfeclty. She loved it. He was at peace once more, and that was good. Nobody would attack her through the double reinforced doors. This was very good. Safety at last. "The mighty three, our protection be. Encircling, thou art our King."

She had undone her hair, braided it losely over her left shoulder and cleaned herself up. Her living quarters were as spotless as humanly possible, given the current situations, and Bailey seemed to be doing well. Matt was still holding the box with the bug, cut off from all electrical and networking connctions....and would be hard pressed to send any more files out. Zharra smiled grimly as she worked with her hair. There was no way in hell she was going to let another one elude her grasp. Even if it meant slicing a few muscles along the way. "...stupid cunts." ".....Zharra?" "Hmm?" She looked up. Bradley. She smiled slightly. They were on duty, this wouldn't be to painful. "How are you Bradley?" "Fine, all things considered. ...you were great with the bug." "I try....thanks."

They released eachother's hands moments before the doors opened. Nearly everyone was in attendence, with a few stragglers on their way. Either that or Satell's senses were dulled from her recent dive into the sensual. She turned and sat down in her marked chair in the corner, legs crosed, white lab coat covering her chest. ....in the words of her big brother, she was just a "tit bit nipply." The Captain stood at the whiteboard, hands behind his back. The lucky bastard didn't have anything to show for his own interractions with his Communications specialist, and lover. The final two officers entered and the doors hissed shut behind them. Satell rasied her eyes up to him and removed the pen from her ear without breaking eye contact. This was going to be interesting. "Hello everyone. Let's introduce ourselves please. .....and our ranks too, if it's not much trouble." "I'll start." Several heads turned in her direction. .....none of them had ever seen her before, save the Captain himself. She stood, holding the clipboard in hand, pen resting between her fingers like a cigarrette. "Officer Satell Megelani, Communications Specialist and Registered nurse."

The mutter from the Ctarl Ctarl was clearly heard in the room, Kaia bristling slightly. "Extra abilities..." Trace stiffled a groan. Two females grating against eachother. One a hardass, the other a combative feline..... ...not a good combination. The fox gave the Ctarl Ctarl in question a penetrating stare, which was returned with equal hatred. A dog and a cat. Whoppee. Quite suddenly, the immortal of the two rose to her feet again and tensed the muscles in her body. Kaia bared her teeth and was about to snap at her when Senrai Ley Ley's knife flashed across her vision and burried itself in the face of what was obviously an android type bounty hunter. The metallic chinks of teflon against carbon grated in the two female's ears, and the creature hit the ground, spasming slightly. Senrai walked over calmly and plucked her knife out of his face, then turned back, showing her fangs in a dazzling smile. "...you were saying?"
-
Her eyes sparked and snapped playfully in the dimmed light. Satell seemed to be considering something. "Five minutes?" "Yep." "How far away is the briefing room?" "One. If we saunter." "Good." He was about to say something to the effect of, "How does this...relate?" When he felt Satell's breath on his cheek, her body pressing against his, and his mind swiftly leaving him. She was just like he remembered, perhaps even better. More settled into his skin, definetly an improvement....

"...you mean this?" The voice caressed his ears and he turned. Either he was brain dead or just tired, because he sure as hell had missed the long legged female sitting on the table top, holding a canister of Kona coffee. She grinned at him and held it out. "Captain." "....ah. And you are...?" "Your Communications Specialist. I was dropped off here quite recently. ....and now, I am at your disposal." Was she purring or was it simply his imagination? Skin tight body suit, pen over her right ear, hair spiked up, skin glowing under the halogen lighting.... was the world suddenly perfect or what? "I hope this works out."

For the sadistical chuckle emmitting from Zharra's lips, she was actually being incredibly gentle. With delicate fingers, she rubbed the area with a mint scented topical, dulling her nerves for a little while, then set down the small jar and picked up a spool. Using the bio degradable threads from Singapore, she threaded a smaller needle and sewed the muscles back together, starting from the bottom and working her way upwards. Rae bit her lips, preventing any further exclimations from her lips. The topical only went so far....but it did smell nice in contrast to the blood. Zharra leaned over and smeared the wound with hydrogen peroxide, then cleaned it again with Polysporin. "Better?" "....it's burning." Zharra rubbed her good shoulder gently and went back to her sewing. With careful movements, she sealed the inscision with a delicate butterfly pattern. If she had to scar, she could at least disguise it. When it was healed, it would resemble a henna tattoo. Not a bad deal, all in all. Rae watched her through the mirror Bailey had hung earlier. "....it's not so bad." "Tell me that in six months." "Alright then I will." The older of the two slapped on the bandage, then sealed it with the ever present waterproof tape. Rae moved her arm experimentally, the stitches bending with the skin. Zharra smiled at her and cleaned up the kit. "You're free." ".....thank god." "Keep it dry, come back in a few days. The stiches will have disolved by then.....but I want to make sure nothing gets to it." "Knowing you, it'll be fine." Zharra blushed prettily at Matt's comment and put away her things.

Zharra motioned her over, and Rae leapt towards Zharra's domicile, which was fast becoming the official First Aid tent. All it needed was the big Red Cross. Or maybe a red Crescent. Zharra gave her a look that hovered between concern and amusement. She unzipped the pack and opened the metal box next to it with her earring. Rae watched her interestedly, until she took out a scalpel. ".....hold still Rae...this might sting a tad bit." With an expert slit, she removed the bandages and peeled them away, tossed them to the ground, and stepped on them. Whoever had patched her up had been very careless. Rae winced as Zharra took out tweezers, sterilized after Liam, and began peeling back the flesh that had already started to scab. She muttered to herself in Gaelic as she worked, which wasn't all together that bad....just a little odd. "Can't you just...anestheise me?" "Sorry honey, I'm saving that for real cases. ....this is just a flesh wound....and.... Oh god." Something was burrowing into her flesh at a rapid rate, given its exposure to sunlight. With a sure hand, Zharra stabbed down with the tweezers and yanked something metal out of Rae's shoulder. Those watching looked on with interest. This was getting good..... While Rae screamed aloud, Zharra gave a shout of triumph and held the bug over her head. "GOTCHA!" "AGH!" "...what the?" Zharra flipped out an Altoid box and droped the bug into it carefully, then tossed it at Matt. "Voila. .....she is clear."

With simple padding steps, Zharra made her way to the shade, where Eve, their guide, was currently reposing on the sad. She was holding her glasses frosted wine, kept cool in her pack thanks to new technology and simple inventiveness. She held one out to Eve, who sniffed it, then sipped it experimentally. Zharra sat next to her and took a slow drink, running it over her tongue. "Thanks....what is it?" "Zinfandel. 1969. ....from Nappa Valley in California." "It's very good. .....how did you keep it cold?" "Mmmm, that would be telling now wouldn't it? By the way, thanks for being our guide." "No problem. It's a break from the monotony." "Good then. Glad for the shade." "I'll be gladder when we get a move on." Eve looked slightly restless to Zharra, who's eyes never missed much. She set down her empty glass and took Eve's as well. "Patience is a virtue ..... ...that I was never able to quite grasp." The two chuckled and Zharra stood.

"In my experience....obedience far outweighs personal conviction." He gave her a look. And she smiled back. The fox girl gave her a wicked glare, which she returned with equal sickening sweetness. "For the uninitiated, like you, that was a 'No I have no problem with it.'" Shindorakai looked like she was about to leap at the Ctarl-ctarl, when the party in question stood and extended her claws. Moonlight filtered through the open window, flooding the both of them with pale light. The feline grinned maliciously. Only someone with a deathwish would attack a Ctarl-ctarl during a full moon. "....I'll be there."

Zharra filed her nails into delicate points while Liam staggared around looking for the First aid kit. She held it up, slightly annoyed, and gave him a look that would've frosted over his guns. He sat down obediently at the three legged seat she kicked in his direction. Liam was about to protest her treatment of him when he heard her unzip the bag, and take something out. Several moments later he bit his lip to prevent the scream from coming out. ...Hydrogen Peroxide, liberally applied to his head and arm. "Feel free to voice your opinions Liam. It's theraputic." "Like the BURNING ON MY BODY?!?!?" Her laughter was gentle, pleasing, and hardly mocking. With softer movements she manned the tweezers, picking the fibers from the skin and muscle on his arm. Neosporin, applied to the open wound with sterilized hands. Then she turned and unrolled the bandage expertly, winding it around his arm and sealing it off with water proof tape. "Keep that dry or I'll wring your neck." "....sure...sure." "Come back in two days for that to be changed, and one for this." She picked the hairs and dirt from the head wound carefully, avoiding the dirty scabs with skill. Then, nothing else for it, she opened them up again, with Liam biting his tongue in protest. Matt glanced in their direction and smiled. She was good.....maybe too good. The bandage was equally neat and sterile, and covered with tape. "You're done...go sleep." "....eeh, feels better. Got any Valium?" "Oh you mean this?" She held up a capsule that looked suspiciously like the Pill. Only it was Darvoset. The cure all knockout pill that could send you into Neverland in less than 30 seconds.

Stretching upwards, Reaching for the unatainable, Screaming for it, Begging for it. And there she stood, Alone and unwilling, To bend down and touch, The hands reaching for her so desperately. Despite her smile, She had her mealoncholy, That nobody could see that wasn't, Straining to claim her. One did see it, And in the end of the momment, It was him that she chose, Over all the others. -
Matt tipped off Bailey and Zharra. The only two females that weren't involved in betting on the antics of their other two comrades. Zharra rolled her eyes at Bailey, who pursed her lips in the classic "my my" look. She smiled to herself, then unzipped her luggage and adjusted her jewlrey for the first time that day. With deft movements she slapped on her watch and undid her belt. It slid to the floor slowly and she reached for her sarong and tankini. Bailey switched shirts and pants, folding up the rest carefully. With calm movements, the two women dressed and armed themselves once more, then stowed everything away. "I love camping..." "Zharra dear, what don't you love?" "Egotistical men, empty guns, and bad wine." She grinned at Bailey, who was still reeling at her prompt and blut reply. Then she turned and adjusted her garter, slipping several pins into it.

And when he woke up, it was a dream partially come true. They were out of the hospital, in her room, the door closed, her eyes half shut as well. He looked up at her, and she smiled back at him, her earrings clinking against each other gently. "Good evening." "Where are we?" "My flat. It's the safehouse....for me." "What about the IV?" "You mean this?" She leaned over and tapped the side of his arm. He didn't flinch, and she adjusted the wire connecting it to the fluids. "I'm kinda...hungry." "We anticipated that."

Writing Today's Poem [M -- As a Precaution]

She was smiling, No, smirking really, As she whipped the van around, Pushing 95 on the highway. And the trailers, All parted way for her, Because they figured, Better to let the impatience pass. And she did, Deftly whipping around them, That smile still lasting, Her grip firm and controlling. As she barreled down I 210, In Los Angeles, The red and yellow and white, Coloring her vision. And her smile, Was still there, When the pulled into the hotel, And got out. -
He went back to his drink, then heard something like purring. Before he turned his head he saw the hilt of a knife flash, then slam into the wood of the bar next to his right elbow. Tance whipped around to come face to face with insiduous yellow eyes, an angular face, and fangs bared in a smile. Before he could react, she was sitting down next to him, legs crossed, robe covering her face once more. "....shit....you're crazy." "I'm a Ctarl-Ctarl thank you very much. It comes with the territory." He couldn't see the rest of her form, but figured that it was definetly like her face. Feline. In the extreme. But still....not half bad. She gave a death like glare at the bar tender, who stopped staring and brought her a glass of white wine. She held it between her fingers delicately, the talons retracted for the time being. And as she sipped it, her hood fell back to reveal the thick aburn hair. He stared. "May I help you...?" "....so are you signing up?" "Of course."

Mongooses. They're quick, light, fast, the ones that hate scorpions a great deal, and are able to kill them irl. So obvoiusly....mongooses can kill scorpions. That and I like to see mongooses. ~~~~~~~~ Rena keened loudly, then changed it into a hoarse laugh bark. She charged out of the room, muscle bunching and expanding swiftly. Ben followed, then she screeched to a halt at the hill and roared. Several voices responded. All of which were the cats that inhabited the city. Two lions, one tiger, and a pack of hunting minx. At least. The tiger eyed Rena, then bared her teeth and smiled. "....I conceed leadership. ...you are far more suited to it than me." The male lions, two....big, brawny, good at following orders. And the minxes had no leader. Excellent. Several large feral cats walked closer, rubbing against the others, the scent of sweet musk rising in the air. Rena raised her head and purred with delight. "We are going to battle." "Scorpions?" "YES!" "At last..."
-
She was purring deep in her throat, and he was giving her the look that clearly stated ".....answer the question.....for the love of-" "Well it's quite simple really...." "Yes?!?" "I get bored." If he had known any better, he would've let his jaw drop to the floor. Instead he cleared his throat half heartedly and looked at her. She was circling him, this time looking far more like a goddess than a simple forest guardian. He glanced into her eyes, which were snapping and sparking playfully. Much like a child's...only difference was the grin that accompanied it. "...lame I suppose. But seeing as how you're in my territory to begin with....and you're not going to eat me until someone pays you....I see very little threat. That and you have absolutely nothing to gain by killing me right now." "True.... .....do you like taking risks?" "Do you like sex?" Her smile widened ever so slightly, and he saw the fangs in her mouth push out slightly against her lips. White flashing brightly against her red tongue.

The three English speaking ladies, were making preperations for their own jump. Bailey looked utterly delighted, Rae was in an advanced state of ecstasy, and Zharra was grinning like a maniac. She adjusted the straps of her boots and calmly removed her earrings. Then she turned and smiled at the others. "Shall we?" "Age before beauty." ".....that would be....damnit, me." "Oh what the hell, let's go!" The three stepped back, then got running starts and launched themselves from the cargo bay, all three with some form of defiant shout as they were thrown into space. "BOO-YAH!" "WOOHOO!!" "ROCK ON!" Zharra went into a highly controlled dive, tucking her body into a perfect curve, enjoying every second of it...

The two watched the bag quietly move out of the room, carried by the thoroughly disgusted coroners. Both of which were giving her a look that clearly stated "You are the embodiment of evil, I hate you, too bad you pay my salary...." Satell thanked them in a rather distracted voice and turned back to Brant. "But we're fine now." "Did you just leave a door open or something?" "Apparently. Then again, this is a free floor, the doctor said anyone could visit. I suppose they took him literally." ".....you could've been shot." "So could you. We were both asleep." Her voice was soothing, and he fell asleep once more, but before he did he grasped her hand and looked into her eyes. "I had a dream about you. .....you were.... ...." Her eyes registered no comprihension, she couldn't read his mind. "Very beautiful.... And we were..." "Married?" Brant caught his breath and squeezed her hand. She smiled at him, the smile that lit up the room, and held his hands in hers. He was reassured, and closed his eyes, needing to say nothing else.

"Like I said before...it's monotonous. Same thing every day. Rise early, sleep early, watch the rain, snow, and hail fall. Protect the forest from intruders, talk to strangers....frisk with driads..." "Idyllic? ....and you still didn't tell me how you know me." "Idyllic no. Boring yes. And as for that last question, I'll ask you to delve deeper into my....lair." She silently padded through the hall and headed towards the dark corrdior. He hesitated for a moment, then joined her. She held up one hand, a light pouring from her curled fingers, illuminating the passage in the bizzare room. The asura blinked. No cobwebs, no spiders....no nothing. It was all neat and clean, perhaps with a fetish....for cleanliness? The slope ended and opened into another cavern, this one slightly smaller and elongated. Shelves, and a long low work table. Vials of all sworts, powders, potions, philteres, and was that a forge? No...just a small armoury. Several fascinating magical objects caught his eye including the Hand of Glory and what looked like a spiral bracelet. He was about to touch it when she caught his hand with lightning speed and drew it back. "Better not." "Why?" "Do you want it to force you into a hormone induced haze and pass out before my eyes? That is of course...after it compells you to beg me for sex." The expression on his face answered that. She turned his attention towards the far wall. A black stone, carved into yet another circle, blank and smooth. She approached it and it became a mirror. The mirror revealed the forest in several different locations. And then it transmuted itself into water and splashed down around their feet. Kenneth blanched visibly, only to find that it was not holy water. "Stop playing....." "But we likes....playing." She grinned at Kenneth and kicked the water, which quickly reformed itself into the black stone. "A Transfiguring Stone. Likes to show off....is rumored to be all knowing."

She gave him a look, then pulled aside the curtain-like flower vines and let him view her living space in full measure. He stepped in, and was embraced by her distinctive scent. Moonflowers. Alot of them. Not a holy plant, but fresh and clean smelling, and also a little unerving. He was standing at the mouth of a huge cave with a long sloping roof. Disconcerting defiently. He took his eyes off the stone ceiling and let them sweep from side to side, taking in the view. The long vines trailed down here and there, forming natural decoration. To his left he saw a warm comfortable looking futon, circular....presumeably for when she was in panther form. Next to it was a low wall sconce, with a torch burning with some sort of magical essence, giving off a cool violet light. It filtered down through what looked like simple magic, dispersing gently and at no fixed rate. Aside from the futon, he also saw a rug, made from rattan fibers, then a long sloping runway that led downhill. He didn't bother with that. On the right wall he noticed several shelves containing parchments and scrolls. Of course, he stepped over to investigate, reading some fo the titles outloud. "An expert's guide to Alchemy.... .....getting in touch with your Real self... Transmuation and Side-effects. ...A history of Naiads. Driads. Nymphs. Moonflowers and you." "Travellers bring me them on whims..." "Decapitation for felines. How to slaughter. Home Roasting. The art of war. Guardians and their territory. The works of....?" "Ochkik Haddah." He gave her an odd look, then stood up again and let his eyes rest on the futon.
