Anime New Episodes of Rurouni Kenshin???
Panzer Dragoon replied to Bardock03's topic in Otaku Central
Like Cyber E said. Kenshin is on the SVES block on Cartoon Network, Saturdays at 9:30 P.M EST. At its barely on ep 52. So its going to be quite awhile before Kenshin even sees Shishio. -
Originally posted by Haze_Gundam006 sadly no. . . there are no more episodes. only 6 of them (ignore where i said 5 in the other post). it sux though doesnt it? i would have expected more. there is another show simply called "Gate Keepers" that has roughly 20 episodes if i am not mistaken. i have never seen it though... just read about it. it is apparently a "prequel" if you can call it that to gate keepers 21.
Gatekeepers 21 is a sequel to the original Gate Keepers - set more than thirty years after the events of the original. I like this anime, mostly just the mood of it. If anybody has seen the original they know that the human race was against these invaders. And it had a optimstic tone to it. Now that the invaders have won, the anime has that very sad tone to it. Like no matter what the invader hunters do, they'll never win. And this anime seems more like a OVA. Its only 6 ep. long. The original had like 24/25 ep. to it.
Originally posted by Kenshingirl13 Rurouni Kenshin! :D Personally, I think that Rurouni Kenshin and Inuyasha are some of the best anime out there today.
The problem with those two anime's is that they never knew when to stop. Kenshin should of never gone to 95 ep. and Inuyasha is just way to long, granted there both great series. Oh and Cowboy Bebop. Well there isn't much for me to say that hasn't already been said. But I well say this. CB is one of the best anime series every, thats a FACT. Whether people like it or not is there opioion.
Originally posted by SadClown And while I'm already ranting, I hate Cartoon Network for not showing anime in it's entiret; ESPECIALLY when they go out of there way to change the story. DBZ was ok because there already isn't much plot in it, but in sailor moon, good god, they ruined the first season which is the best one!
Since the half of this statement has already been cleared up by Manic, I will defend the other half. You can't really blame anybody for the bad dubbing job done on SM. Remember when SM aired. It was back in 1998 were the standards on dubbing were much tighter than they are today. Nowadays its much looser, look at Adult Swim.
ALL american voice actors, and I do mean all, can never match the same skill that the Japanese voice actors have. Over there, it's a real career
Well thats your opioion. Take for instance the dub for Cowboy Bebop. I loved the VA's for Spike, Faye and Jet. Hearing CB in japanese would sound freaking werid. There are some decent VA's here in Amercia.
Originally posted by Japan_86 What I don't get...*points to Justice League* why Justice League is on Toonami. It is just a remake of 1960's American cartoons and comics. It isn't an anime.
It isn't anime? Toonami isn't an anime block. Its an animation block, therefore they will show more than just anime. There reason Justice League is on is to promote there new season. I also hate the fact that RK is going weekly on SVES. I suppose the reason is, is to get more viewers who watch RK on Toonami to watch it on SVES.

See it depends what we mean by dub. The dub anime shown in the US is always edited due to TV censorship. The other dub is the english version of the anime you get in the DVDs. For example, take GTO. The dub is exactly like the sub only its in english of course. But I do understand the point of the thread. Sometimes Sub anime is a lot better, easier and cheaper to get. Take for example Love Hina, its sub is way better then the dub. When it comes right down to it, either version will do.
Originally posted by Chou Long Kai My parents really don't care.My dad is oblivious to anything I do and my mom dosen't mind, infact I think she's interested in some of them.Heh,one night I tried to get her to watch an episode of Bebop...She fell asleep. Anyways no my parents dun care. But some smart *** kids at my school see animes like Hamtaro and Pokemon and think all of them are like that, but a select bunch like it.
Dude, my parents are exactly like that, only its my mom who's totally clueless on what I watch. My parents think its cute that I still watch cartoons. It pisses me off when they think about it like that, but oh well. Yeah, I hate how some of the guys in my h.s. think anime is pokemon and cartoon porn. There ignorant bunch of mo'fos.

I too have it burned. Its a great series, although I perfer the manga then the anime. Either way its one of the funniest romantic shows I've ever seen.

There is no YAOI in CCS. But there is a gay/lesiban love triangle that goes on though. About the new series, I don't know if anybody has heard of it yet but I think I know what kind of rumors you guys are talking about. Its not a show yet but really a manga. This new manga series will run in Weekly Shonen Magazine and is entitled "Tsubasa" ("Wing"). What got me excited was the return of the beloved characters from Card Captor Sakura! In fact, it seems the Li is the main character! The story isn't true to the original Card Captor Sakura plot though. It's more of an alternate universe story where Sakura is a princess and Touya is the king. ^^ It appears as if this manga series will be a merger of other CLAMP manga series as well. It'll a little weird, but it looks really cool.
