I haven't a problem with it. Everyone's individual in their own way, personality-wise at least (I say that for all the poor little clone children in the world), and simply changing some fonts would make the world a happier, more individual place, at least OB, that is. (I say that for all the poor little OBers in the world) But, if it's possible, I believe it would be logical to put a limit on font size.. But I don't know programming like that well, so I'm not sure if that is plausible.

Gaming You know you've been playing too much AC when...
OtakuSennen replied to Hyper's topic in Noosphere
-You start asking turtles when the next meteor shower is gonna be -You stuff so many chairs and watches into your pocket that your pants rip in two -You find a pelican on the beach and start strip searching it for a foreign item -You're afraid to leave your house for more than 10 days at a time in fear that cockroaches will invade and take over your house -
Normal. There is truly no such thing in my eyes. I mean, I guess one could say that "normal" is the stereotype, the most common kind of person that you will see. People who blend in, and don't seem that different from anyone else. But is being normal a good thing? If being normal means blending in, then being strange means standing out. But individuality is part of what makes us human. One could be strange for being intelligent, or strange for being artistic. Some of the strangest things ever have become some of the most popular things ever as well. Look at FLCL, for example. Is it an average series where everyone stands around and go "Hey. What are ya up to?" There's insanity everywhere all over that, and originality sells. I'm considered strange for intelligence and interest in comics and cartoons (AKA manga and anime are horribly unpopular at our school). But I don't care. Being normal means you don't stick out, and I want to be noticed.

'Ello there, Tsukasa Kakishi (I presume you are referencing to Kakashi of Naruto?), and welcome to the boards. It's a good thing that you didn't post an introduction thread entirely, because they are not allowed here on OB. However, threads such as these are normally not allowed, nor is double-posting. And if you ever have any questions such as these, you should probably go to the rules forum at the top of the page. It's very helpful, and it's considered "required reading" to be on the boards. But to answer your question, you go to the bottom of the homepage, click on private messages, then click on the profile tab. On the bottom of that you see avatars. Take any file (other than bitmap, of course) that you have that fits the size parameters of the boards, and simply browse your computer to find it. That should do the trick, and I hope I helped. Welcome.

As always, Klin, awesome work. This is, in my opinion, your best work as of date. It looks almost exactly similar to the actual manga/anime character, and the coloring is really great too. His facial expression is amazingly correct, and the hair and fur are flowing perfectly. However, his left leg DOES look somewhat long. In fact, it looks almost as long as the rest of his body. But that isn't a big thing. What people see when they look at a drawing of a person is normally the face first, and that is the best part in this drawing. 9.8/10 Ever considering moving to Japan and becoming a mangaka, Klin?
Originally posted by Conna_da_fox I love the second one... but I can't transfer the data. IT SO ANNOYING!!! I've tried about 50 billion times, both with code and link cable. Can someone help me?! Whenever I try to start with the transfered data... I transfer it then wait... the data shows up, but when I press start it just makes me start a normal game. You can't press anything other than start... it says in the booklet that there is a thing that asks you to conferm the transfered data... but it doesn't do that!!! SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!!!
Well, I believe the confirmation is like a little "ding" sound or something.. Plus instead of "upgrade data" it will say "edit data" on the menu. But you really won't notice much of a difference in the game until
Isaac, Garet, Ivan and Mia join your party.
If you don't upload data they are EXTREMELY weak with junky items. Thus, until you level them up a TON, they are relatively useless for a while.

Art Teh Random Animation Threadness!
OtakuSennen replied to Dragon Warrior's topic in Creative Works
O_O My, that certainly IS random. But perhaps one of the funniest things I've ever seen that you've made, Gavynn.. It's sort of like all the zaniness of FLCL in 30 seconds or so minus the plot. The dancy-ness scares me, but the first little bit is probably the best part. *gasp* I noticed something! Gavynn mis-spelled "Definitely"! It's not "Definately"! Tis "Definitely"! *dances around* I corrected Gavynn, I corrected Gavynn.. Can't wait for the next one, DW. Keep it up. 9.4/10 -
AzureWolf originally wrote: Yeah, it took me a while to work the quote into something that simple. I couldn't find the right word, but then I thought of something not english and found "Gaiden." I'm just worried that some people might not know that it means "a continuation," and usually a chronologically-specific continuation. Anyway, so you think the center text doesn't stand out properly, but you like the phrase? Haha, I'm not sure what you are saying because you say it's a good quote, but you say I could have selected it better. :-/
Heh, sorry for making it so complicated.. What I meant to say but did not convey properly as I intended to was that I loved the quote (Yep, Gaiden. I love that word for some reason..) however the actal font for the text could be selected better. I like how you rearranged the text boxes in your more recent version, Azure. It seems to flow better, in my opinion, but that's just me. *looks at Naruto's headband* You put a mirror-ish effect on Naruto, didn't you? In this one it seems he's looking to the right, but the leaf on his headband is backwards. If I'm correct, that picture had him originally facing to the left with the tip of the leaf on his headband pointing to our left as well, right? :p I haven't a problem with that, I just wanted to point it out. (If I am right, "Oh I'm good.")

Hm... What anime magazines do we get..? -Shonen Jump- This one is mine and mine alone.. I horde them in my closet.. The articles are always nice and informative (I've learned a good bit of Japanese culture from some of the articles) and, of course, the manga is always superb. -Anime Insider- My brother got a subscription to this one at the anime con in Anaheim last July. Lucky fool got a cool shirt to come with it as well.. He is gracious enough to let me read it, and I like it quite a bit.. The articles are always well-done and there's lots of humor in there. *sigh* Sadly, that's all that we have at the moment. But Newtype.. I've never read any of it, so what is it actually like? Is there manga in it, or is it just a right-to-left magazine kinda like Anime Insider? Oh, and Xyander, I would reccomend Anime Insider for a good starter anime magazine. It's got a wide variety of shows and comics covered in it.

Haha, nice one, Mitch.. I don't recall reading a fanfic of yours before.. OFF TOPIC: I, myself, enjoy the game quite a bit as well. I normally play standard difficulty on Extreme, playing Butterfly, Fantasy by Melissa and Mr. Wonderful.. OK, enough of the off-topic bit. So this was intended to be an article from a magazine or whatever, style-wise, right? However, I did notice a little nitpick I could find in there somewhere (Gotta do that with every fanfic I grade. ~_^)
She even likes the music from the game, which is mostly Japanese music, and has CDs full of music from it, which she listens to often.
If I were to be your editor for this, I would probably change the sentence to something more along the lines of "She even likes the music from the game, which is mostly Japanese, and has CDs full of the songs from it, which she listens to often." You said "music" 3 times in the sentence.. A redundancy thing, ya know? However, that's just how I would write it.. 8.7/10 Nice job.

Yes, I have the game. It has to be one of my favorite RPGs of all time, if not my favorite game PERIOD. Sure, there's lots of talking, but if there wasn't there wouldn't be much of a plot, just a mindless game where you gain experience points. We've had it here in the states for several months now.. So it's not news here. But of course "u" have to get it if "u" like RPGs. The Lost Age was so much cooler than the first, especially once you got Isaac and his group.. The variation of Psynergy and weapons was really great as well.

The Simpsons: Is Maggie more intelligent then the rest of the family?
OtakuSennen replied to Burori's topic in Noosphere
It's a silly little cartoon.. Where nobody ages one minute (Except for the occasional birthday episode) but their intelligence level seems to vary.. First off, in the episode where Lisa and Bart are both put in third grade.. WOULD somebody seriously become a straight-A student after taking each test once? Besides, the curriculum may have changed. And Lisa.. She's very smart, I do believe she has shown she was at least two years ahead of her class mentally, so would someone really start getting F's after being put ahead one grade if they were intelligent to begin with? I think not. That's just one off-topic example, though there are many more. But Maggie's intelligence also seems to fluctuate. If the situation calls for her to be smart so it's funny, she's smart. If she has to be a regular baby for it to be funny, she's a regular baby. -
Yes, One Piece... My brother's favorite manga, though I'm not THAT fond of it. What I like about it It's funny (Though not as funny as Excel Saga or FLCL) and well-drawn.. Those are probably the top two reasons. Plus Oda doesn't use any screen-tones.. It's all either black or white. Like back in the good ol' days before computers were used for touchups and such. Actually, I've never seen the anime.. But I heard that Funimation got rights to it a year or two ago, however they haven't said anything about it since. Have I read the manga or something? Yes. I don't have the anime. What would I rate it? Probably about an 8.7.. Sometimes it's a little too kiddy animation-wise, even though there's tons of blood.. But the clown pirates and all those other weird groups you see kinda are too un-serious (Wow, good word) for my liking. Naruto, however, is my top manga at the moment. ~_^ Oh, and yes, it IS considered the most popular manga/anime of the shonen variety in Japan right now. It sort of HAS been ever since it came out, filling the void of what Dragonball Z had left behind when it ended. However, Naruto is slowly gaining ground.. *waves a little Naruto flag he got off ebay* EDIT: By the way.. It's spelled "Piece". I before E except after C, you know.

Heh... *jokingly indignant* Do I have to answer this question again?!.. -Makai Kite- My first OB friend.. Though I haven't seen her around in a while, she opened me to the wide world of friendly folk that call OB their online home. -K.K.C.- A real comic relief aspect of my happy hoppy group of online pals. Again, she hasn't been on recently.. Most likely 'cause of school.. But she's always fun to talk to, and has become one of my closest friends. -Japan_86- Always a good friend to talk to.. She is always quite comforting in tough times, and is very reliable.. -Syk- ^_^' Always great to talk with, and has shown me (I first talked to him at about early Junior Member level, a newbie at heart) that mods are not hard to talk to if you are just yourself. Of course, there are many others, including Kazoku (Formerly Chou Long Kai) and Charles, so there are far too many to list in a single post. In fact, everyone on the boards may have changed me, in some way, whether it was to get me to think on a more logical level or just increasing post quality.. It can't be singled out to just a few people.

Writing Original "anime-esque" fiction [Mature for language and violence]
OtakuSennen replied to Syk3's topic in Creative Works
Heh.. Nice little story, Syk, especially for a first. Your grammar was obviously good, and lo!
They wanted feel their revenge; taste their revenge, very slowly.
A semicolon! You get extra points for that! *writes that down* Hehe.. Continue to the next part.. I wanna be the evil villain! Ooh! Ooh! Can I be the evil villain! *rolls moustache between second finger and thumb* Mweh heh heh.. 8.5/10 Nice one. *realizes Syk was coming out of a bar in it* o_o'... -
*teary eyed happiness and feeling of suspense* O_O Such a cliff hanger at the end...
Daily FINALLY said it to Summer AND evil radioactive koala babies are are about to eat them..!
But... Koalas are Marsupials, aren't they..? So wouldn't that mean that they ALWAYS lay eggs, radioactive, right..? Or am I thinking of the wrong species? *looks at a platypus* BTW, Gavynn, nice Independence Day reference. "Release mee..." I can't wait for Funky Fantasy.. But when will you bring back Daily, DW? How long will the off-season be?

Hehe.. I think that's an original one, isn't it?.. I don't remember a fanfic revolving around OB people before this particular one. The characters seemed to really fit how they act on OB and in message boards as well.. Their personalities seemed to be well-emulated, for the most part. (Though I really didn't follow parts of it due to the fact that I really don't know who some of the characters are in OtakuBoards.. -_-) There ARE some spelling errors, but not any big ones or anything that makes a sentence nonsensical.. (Like a wrong spelling of "their" or "it's" or something like that) 8.9/10 Hehe, nice one 86. *now inspired to make The Adventures of Sykman a reality*

Eh-heh heh heh.. I now cheat by comparing the .hack//SIGN characters with the .hack//GAME characters that use the same basic character design!! (oh, I'll throw a .hack//LEGEND OF TWILIGHT one in there too..) -Tsukasa and Elk -Mimiru and Blackrose -Bear and Orca -Mereille and Mistral But OTHER than the people who use hte same character design.. -Rei Ayanami of Evangelion and Subaru look rather similar, what with the typical introverted facial expression and the similar blue hair.. But that's just Yoshiyuki Sadomoto's doing. -Il Palazzo of Excel Saga and Sesshomaru of Inuyasha-- This one is KINDA a stretch.. But they both have rather light hair, and for both of them it is rather long. Of course, Sesshomaru doesn't have glasses, but they both sorta hold that bishonen quality.. That's really all I can think of at the moment.. I'll go through my files later and check for more..

*gasp* A banner done by AzureWolf that's NOT .hack related?! Impossible. :p Avatar-- Yep, the picture in it is really nice. So's the background.. Did you get the permission of the fan artist's to use the pic..? 8.4/10 Banner-- Hehe, I like this one a lot. The selection of pictures in it are well done, and the quote is nice too. I, too, think the center text could be selected better.. But I don't have the art program you have, AzureWolf, so I don't know if that WOULD in fact be the best text.. Good quote, too. 9.3/10 MyOtaku picture-- Hm.. Nice picture, however I think that a background change would make it a little better. Not much else to say about this one. 8.4/10 MyOtaku video Hm.. I like it, the drawings are really nice.. However things kinda move fast, for example, the sound effects seem to flash on the screen and there's barely any time to read them. Of course, maybe you were aiming for that; I don't know (Ooh! A semicolon! I've always wanted to use one of those outside of smilies!).. 8.6/10 Love the whole Naruto theme, Azure. Nice work.
Originally posted by Black_Phoenix I just got a copy today. It is a very...interesting manga, to say the least. The chibi art style is actually very nice, though it does see strange at times (then again, so does the entire manga).
Yep! Interesting everywhere.. And not entirely in a perverted way. It really seems to emulate what a MMORPG is supposed to be like quite well. The characters are all vivid and individual as well, in their own ways.
I am still unsure about Orca being the same person. It almost seems to me that the name was given to the player after she became a Werewolf (which the manga said was difficult).
Hm.. If The World is like any current MMORPG we know today, two characters can't have the same SN, even if they ARE different characters.. Right? But we shall see.. 'Cause if I recall, Balmung mentioned he is familiar with this Orca in the manga..
As for the color pages, I know why OtakuSennen likes them so much. ;)
HEEEEY! The .hack//PINUP isn't the ENTIRE reason it's great-- I mean-- Ugh. What I meant when I said that the color pages were good was because of the colors and materials they used.. It looked almost like screenshots of the cartoon version.

Esthil rode to the top of the nearby grassy hill and stopped for a moment to take in the surrounding scenery. He dismounted his horse, named Palamir, and patted him on the nose. "Now, Palarmir," He spoke softly to the horse. "Just stay still for a moment. I will be simply walking around in this area, so don't go running off without me, OK?" He always treated animals with respect. His Elven lord Irsoliv, the eldest member of the kingdom that he hails from, has always been very kind towards all people and creatures. "Be kind to your non-human counterparts," Irsoliv once dictated to his scribes once, with Esthil hiding in the hallway eavesdropping. "For they are not much unlike you and I. They have spirits as well, meaning they have minds and personalities as well. Thus we should treat them as such." Those words truly spoke to Esthil, and ever since then he has always been kind to all creatures, sometimes more to horses than to people. It was at that moment the young Elf began to reminisce of his past, specifically one moment in time when he was a youth and had just received his first horse. "Wow, mother.." The young lad squealed as he mounted his horse for the first time. "I didn't expect to have my own horse for another several decades!" His young parents smiled happily at him at that time, and told him to have fun with his new horse. He rode away for several hours that day, and after that he spent very little time with his family. His horse had essentially become his life after that, and he paid little mind to anything else. This struck him with a second, more provoking thought. This had always dwelled in the back of his mind, but.. Recently things have been coming out more. After he left his home to be an apprentice to the lord's messenger, he would get mail often from his parents.. However in the past 50 years nothing has come in for him from anyone. As he always has, he pushed these thoughts out of his mind and looked towards the south, where he saw a large stone city made of a material so white it seemed to be glistening in the sun. "Well," He said as he walked back over to Palamir. "We have some messages to deliver in here, eh boy?" With that he reached for his steed's reins and brought him down the hill and into the city.

Haha, das cake for me. Shugo said, to quote, "I wish that I will grow up to be strong and brave" or something along those lines.. Ooh and Rena said "I wish that Shugo will become a hero!" New question: In the final episode of Neon Genesis Evangelion, who is the third person to say "Congratulations" to Shinji at the end?

I've been teaching myself some basic Japanese through computer programs and little workbooks and such means for about half a year now.. I'll go on and off though, and I'll often end up reviewing quite a bit. But here's some of the basics used in a short conversation that I can think of off the top of my head.. And I know my grammar and sentence structure all really stinks.. ^_^' I barely remember three particle words entirely. h?Z?C?P?³?ñ! ?ö?H?æ ?ë????·!h h?ö?H?æ ?c????·¤ ?L?m?³?ñ." h?ä?³?C ?f?X ?©Hh g?Í?¢A?ä?³?C ?Å?·BBh g?¾?¢!h h?Í?¢BBh Roman letters: "Seike-san! Ohayo gozimasu!" "Ohayo gozimasu, Kino-san.." "Ogenki desu ka?" "Hai, ogenki desu.." "Ii!" "Hai.." English translation: Seike! Good Morning! Good Morning, Kino.. How are you doing? I'm doing well.. Good! Yes.. Oh, I'm oh so wonderful... I know 2 key phrases and question words, plus some basic particles. ~_~

Yep, the final of four .hack games for PS2. I'd like them to make another set, myself, but that probably won't happen, considering .hack is pretty much over in Japan. Early 2004, eh, Black_Phoenix? I heard it was originally scheduled for a before Christmas release, but they've had holdbacks throughout the production of the games, or so I've heard... So.. Does anyone know if it'll have any new servers? If I recall, .hack//MUTATION was the first one to have Carmena Gadelika in it..
-
Haha, yes, I own the first volume too... I'm quite fond of the chibi artstyle myself, even though a lot of people really don't like it as much.. But, like with The Legend of Zelda: The Windwaker, the plot wouldn't fit with a more realistic graphic style. And Orca is in fact a female werewolf character in .hack//LoT (Legend of Twilight).. I'm guessing this is the same Orca, considering both Balmung and Mereille seem to be familiar with her (in the case, her..). ^_^ I'm quite fond of the color pages too... They're well done and.. Well, if you've read it, you'd see why I may like it more than normal color pages. Heh heh heh... Oh, by the way, there is already a thread in this forum about the manga..
