1. "So... On the first night, a pebble falls to the earth from somewhere...." With her arms slouched behind the seat, Nami sat on a bus headed towards New July. It was the first logical place for her father to to. Maybe. "Hey," said a man, his breath thick with whisky, "You're a good sin'er. Mind if I take you home little lady?" "No," Nami said bluntly, making a fist and hitting the man on the head. He made an "uh!" sound and fell into his seat. "Don't do stuff with your kind. Then again..." Then again, Dad can get drunk sometimes...but not very often, I suppose. Maybe twice a month... Nami sighed and rubbed her eyes. Maybe it had been a bad idea to wear her father's old trench coat; she kept getting a lot of odd looks. Still...still, that's a small price to pay. I had to look like something. I just hope dad doesn't freak out at the sight of me when he's drunk...might think he has an evil twin or something. Then again, he does, so... [Flashback] "Dad? Dad? Mom, where's dad?" "Vash? Oh....he went out." "Where?" "He went out, Nami." "But...but he promised me we would do something today..." [/Flashback] "Man..." Nami sniffed, wiping a tear. "Mmm...mmm! Why was dad so busy?" (Is seen crying like in episode 4 when that guy didn't shoot Jessica's father.) "Well...can't blame him, I guess." The bus slowed to a stop. Nami stood up, pulling Vash's glasses from a pocket. With a small click she slid them on. "Ja here?" said an old man. "Rumors say Vash is here." "You sure?" a drunk asked. "Those rumors don't be right." The old man shrugged. "I'm just saying what I heard. That's all." "Oh brother," Nami mumbled as she entered a bar.
2. I'm in drawing class this quarter, and every week we have to do a drawing assignment in our sketchbooks. We were given a list of 14 ideas, and the third one was "illustrate your favorite lyic, drawing what you think it means". Okay. I picked the song "Kaze wa Mirai ni Fuku" (aka, Trigun ending theme, "The Wind Blows to the Future"). And in case your wondering, the full version, not the twenty second one. ^^ Anyways, this was my lyric: (don't ask what "nbsp" means, I got this off a website) Namioto ga kikoeru +nbsp; kokoro wo kusuguru ame no shizuku mitai ni +nbsp; kimama ni atenaku Translation: I can hear the sound of waves, touching my heart, selfishly aimless, like drops of rain. I thought it was a very inspiring lyric, and I love water, so I drew it up. Seeing as how I wanted to keep perfecting it, and also seeing that shading might ruin it...I didn't shade. ^^;; Tell me what ya think. PS: The scanner made the bottom kinda funky...
3. There was a blast of light. The whole city was consumed. The sound of people screaming rang throughout the world. There, standing in the middle, was a figure dressed in rags. A sullen, death-like expression was on his face. Something didn?t seem right? ?DAD!? Nami yelled, bolting up. Beads of sweat trickled down her face. Was that figure ? that man ? really her father? It was a voice from the past, coming to haunt the daughter of the ledgendary outlaw. Nami sat on the edge of the bed, breathing heavily. Where was her father? Something just wasn?t right; Nami could sense it. Her father was gone. ?MOM!? she yelled a few minutes later, banging her fist on her mother?s door. ?Mom! It?s dad! He?s gone!? A woman of medium-short height opened the door. ?Vash?? she asked. ?Is Vash gone?? ?Yeah, like I said. I had a dream ? about July, remember? He told me that when I was younger.? Meryl put a head on Nami?s shoulder. ?Nam,? she said, ?It?s okay.? ?But Dad ?? ?Of course he isn?t here. You know him. Even though he?s redeemed himself, bounty hunters are still after him. And you know it.? Nami fell silent. While her father had never been a killer, he was still hunted. Even though he was proclaimed mankind?s first human disaster, and even though nobody was supposed to go after him, people still did. ?Wha ? what?s about Knives?? ?Knives? Nami, are you crazy?? ?He is my uncle, you know.? ?Yes, but?you know he?s?mental.? ?Of course I do. But if dad?s gone?maybe he has something to do with it.? ?Don?t think so,? said Meryl. ?And don?t you dare go looking for him. You might get killed.? ?How? I?m part plant, remember?? ?That doesn?t make any difference.? Nami shrugged and went to her father?s room. The door sat ajar. ?Course. He left.? She pushed it open and investigated. It was empty. The bed sheets now lyed on the floor in a jumbled. The colt that was usually on the bedstand was gone. While the red trenchcoat was still on its hook, as it had been for a few years, his attire of blue and white was gone. ?He left,? Nami mumbled, walking up to the trenchcoat. Reaching into a pocket, she pulled out Vash?s sunglases. ?Nami? Nami? Where are you gong dressed like that?? Instead of being in her shirt, vest, and jeans, Nami now wore her father?s trenchcoat. Although it was big for her in the means of height, it was now pinned up to match her height. Although her hair was still normal, Nami had replaced her handgun earring with the silver loop of Vash. And she wore his sunglasses. ?Don?t I look cool?? she asked, pulling out her gun. ?I?m gonna go look for dad, okay mom? Don?t worry, I?ll be fine.? With that and a cock of the pistol (that?s what I?m going to call it), Nami hopped down the stairs of the inn. Meryl shook her head in disbelief. ?Why?why does this always happen?? she wondered to herself. --------- I typed this up at my aunt and uncles house?.Turkey Day! ^^ Hope it?s not too bad.
4. ~_~ There's my explanation. ----------- "We're not doomed, don't worry," said Moriko. "We're just going to have to search around the old way, okay?" "Yeah," said Evean. "Guess so. So..." He pointed a finger at one spot. "I'll go there. And you, Mori," he said, pointing to a cave, "Can go there." "I'll go there," said Moriko, motioning towards a pond. A waterfall fell from a cave above. "I'll investigate that. I'm most atuned to the element of water, so it'll be okay." Moir-Sora shrugged. "Yeah, those things. They don't hold much meaning to me -" "WHAT?" Moriko yelled in her friend's face. "Everything comes from the four elements! The forest, the sky, even you! Where do you think Eowyn's powers come from? The wind! Where do you think mine come from? WATER!" Evean held back Moriko. "Calm down!" he said. "Yeah. Let's get going," said Mori-Sora rather nervously, being rather releived that Evean had come in to stop Moriko from slaughtering her. "Okay." The three seperated, waving good-byes.
5. *dancing* Woo! I shot Julie! ^^ -------- OOC: In this one, Artemis, I'm going to have Komeko figure out that Stocatta is telepathic. But that's all. Also, Komeko's text color to Stocatta will be light blue. To herself, it'll be just italics. Ohhh...B flat everybody! ...I'm hiding behind a building, having just shot a Typhoon, while another really freaky girl has just come out and destroyed some dude's mouthpiece; I feel bad for him. Who's my next target? I think it'll be... (Note: That was all in her head, none of it was spoken. So nobody respond to the song. ^^) Komeko piveted her way from behind the building and fired. At first, nobody fell down or clutched any part of their body. "DAMN!" came a loud cry. It was Nick. "That's the, what, third time I've been shot today!" Turning around he yelled, "Who keeps shooting me?!" Again hiding behind the building, Komeko bit her lip hard and laughed in her mouth. No sound came out. Hope the lady's happy. Yes. Nicely done, kid. "Wha-what? Stocatta? Is that you again?" Komeko whispered. She squeezed her eyes shut. Are-are you telepathic? Good job. I'm glad you finally figured it out. But...how? How can you communicate with me? I don't have to search your thoughts, they came to me. ...Are you one of them? One of who? What? Since I was a kid I've always been a bit psyhic. But nothing...like this. A humanoid. I don't know. How should I know? *sigh* Stop. I can sense your getting a headache. I will explain later. Komeko eased her way to the dusty ground, clutching her head. The last thing she could sense was something...Stocatta smiling... ------ Don't know if you got it in either this post or my profile, but, hint hint. ^^ Artemis (don't worry, you're fine), with the telepathicy, I think the rules for us about "controlling" each other have to be stretched out a bit. With conversations and stuff, we shouldn't make radical decisions for the other person, but more along the lines of, what would her stereotype do. Okay?
6.
Originally posted by Double_B_Daigo Its fine, but she must take after Vash in several ways. (Superior genes due to you know what.)
Yup, that's fine with me. *hugs DBD* Daddy! ^^ ...*sees the mods breathing down her neck* Um...I will keep idle conversations to PMs? *mods nod and go away* Phew.
7. Hey, sounds like fun. Yeah, I know that I can't hear the conversation between Stocatta and Legato. ^^ --------- The offer is interesting. Its worth a shot. "So your coming?" Stocatta asked. Koemko gave her another blank stare. "Uh..." Why did I say that... Komeko shrugged. "Yeah, guess so. But..." She looked Stocatta in the eyes, "I'm just giving you fair warning...be careful around me. Oh yes, and I'm 15." Stocatta raised an eyebrow in a questioning look. "Really?" "Yeah," Komeko replied. "And there's a lot of things you'll find out about me along the way." She may be more interesting than I thought... I'm not going to let you kill her. Just remember that. Stocatta could sense Legato smiling in her head. Of course darling. I wouldn't do anything against your will. That's new. Don't you do that all the time? Komeko looked at Stocatta, confused at the older woman's silence. "Shall we go?" Stocatta snapped her attention towards the girl. "Yes."
8. Wee! Thanks Shippo! *hugs Shippo* If anybody has seen Hacker Kite, then his/her (I have no idea...) sig, you'll notice a banner that I made. And believe it or not, I made that in MS Paint *gasp* Because it was so horrible, I deleted it from my hard drive and now, I've made a better one! ^^ This is what HK wanted; a banner with Balmung, Helba, and Kite, along with their names, so yeah.
9. DBD, I have a question. Does it necessarily have to be Vash?s son? How ?about daughter? And who?s the mother? Meryl? If so, I?ll change mine to being Wolfwood/Millie?s child? EDIT: Age edited. She's now 16. That okay? --------------- Name: Nami Age: 16 (I supose) Height/Weight: 4? 6??/62 lbs. Weapon of Choice: Whatever this is Attitude: It varies. She?s mostly humorous, but can also be suspicious. Is also intelligent, but doesn?t show it very often. Occupation: None Appearence: Hair: Ear length navy hair (Meryl) with blonde-gold highlights (Vash). Although most of it is pulled behind her ears, some of it brushes across her face. Facial: Sky blue eyes. Slightly rosy cheeks. One of her ears is pierced, the earring being of a small handgun. Dress: Black tanktop and slightly baggy blue jeans. Over her shirt is a tan colored vest. She wears white boots like her mother?s and (sometimes) wears her father?s glasses. (You know, those funky sunglasses every Trigun fan wants.) Biography: Because of the fact that her father is Vash the Stampede, Nami was born as a half plant, half human being. Also because of this, she and her parents are constantly on the move from bounty hunters and murderers. Because of her mother?s job and her dad?s lifestyle, Nami has had a lot of time to herself. In this time she draws and reads, and because she doesn?t go to school, about everything she learns she teaches it to herself. There are two exceptions: Meryl teaching her daughter math and Vash telling Nami about the history of Gunsmoke. Another thing her father taught her was gunman ship. It was Vash that gave Nami her first gun as a child, and it was by him that she learned how to use it. Meryl also taught her how to cook, which is another passion of Nami?s. Nami has often times wondered about herself. Her parents have told her about being part plant, but the thought of who she truly is lies in the girl itself. ---------------- If, in any way, my info doesn?t make sense or if you don?t like it, DBD, than PLEASE TELL ME!
10. After reading the thread about the women trying to sue Cartoon Network for showing FLCL, it became quite apparent to me that people like picking on animes. What am I saying? you ask. Welll, its quite simple. Just think about your favorite anime. Okay, lets say its DragonBall Z. Then compare it to a cartoon on CN. Powerpuff Girls. Compare the two and the results will always be: Powerpuff Girls is so much less violent. Or at least, that's what overprotective, single minded parents/adults will say. They think that the PPG are innocent because their little girls with big eyes and cute personalities. Then they think that DBZ is violent because it shows blood, violence, and people getting beaten up. Question: Doesn't PPG contain the same thing? I've realized that, when people say bad things about an anime and think that a certain cartoon is child-safe, do they not realize that cartoons could be even more violent than an Adult Swim anime? Cartoons such as Dexter's Lab, Looney Tunes, and Ed, Edd, and Eddy show tons of violence and more nudity than the average anime? The adults think they're okay because they supposivly put them in "light and humorus" ways. Eh. I find EE & E a pretty disturbing show. Three boys running around, ripping off neighborhood kids for money and jawbreakers, the almost endless rear-end nudity, and yet it's worser than animes?
Originally posted by KarmaOfChaos I really don't see how this woman can criticize shows like Pokemon and DBZ. There are many cartoons that are far more violent, and treat violence in a much lighter manner. x.X Like Cow and Chicken. That show still scares me, it's just so...messed up. Yet you don't hear anyone complaining about that. They complain about anime because it takes violence in a more serious manner(like DBZ) rather than light hearted 'oh, I just bashed your skull in, but you can bounce right back up because you're a sweet and innocent cartoon'. Frankly, I'd think parents would want their kids watching DBZ versus bugs bunny or something because it doesn't act like everyone's invincible (although we all know Goku could kick Freiza's butt any day, and twice on Sundays. ^-~) whereas bugs bunny, they just keep ripping eachother apart. And people wonder why I hate Tweety...violence against cats, hello?! And as sad as that woman is, the woman who sued CN for FLCL is 100 times worse. This generation is going to hell while their mommies whine about violent programming. Parents should be paying attention to what their kids are DOING, not what's on TV that they don't approve of. -.-" -Karma
(This was in a different thread of mine) The point I'm trying to make is, Why do parents like to bash anime? Is this the generation that grew up hating Japan because of Peral Harbor, or is this the over-protective generation of parents who think they can sheild their kids from everything "violent" (and make them sissies while their at it)? Look around you. Everything in your normal day life is violent. Things in the news, going to school and learning about assasinations in history, and seeing a kid get hit in the head with a basketball; all of those things are violent. And are parents bashing those? No, their too busy trying to rid the world of anime.
11. *climbs back onto the face of the Adeventure Arena's earth, covered in paint, glue, and letters* Woah, sorry. The art forums were holding me hostage for a bit... ----- Komeko sighed. The cries she had heard were nothing, just someone who had burned themself. "Pathetic..." she mumbled, brushing her right hand across her face. She returned back to the tavern where she had been before, sat down, and ordered a glass of vodca. "You like drinking strong stuff?" the bartender asked in a slightly gruff voice. Komeko nodded. She looks suspicious. Why? She's just a little kid. Nothing special about her. I want you to investigate her, darling. Stop calling me that. You don't care about me anymore... Komeko took a sip of the alcohol. She backed her head away from the disgusting scent. Although it tasted fine to her, the smell was something to watch out for. Why is that person looking at me? She's freaky. Wayyyy freaky.. I'm freaky, are I? Komeko bolted her head back. Something was wrong. Why was there a voice, a voice she had never heard before, intruding her mind? What do you want with me? Just to talk. That's all. There's something I want to discuss with you that could help us both. Shifting her eyes to the strange character on the other side of the tavern, Komeko saw Stocatta, drinking a beer, with no expression of anything on her face. Fine. I will. Good. Meet me outside this town in five minutes. ------------ I had this problem with somebody else; she said I was controlling her in a RPG. It was kinda pathetic... If you think I'm "controlling" you, Artemis, please say so. ^^
12. I must be cursed...Syk3's post was the only thing allowing me to post... One I made this afternoon for Azure_Skies: The modified version, she wanted more blue: Personally, I think the first one is better... A Gogeta banner a newbie named Speed Demon wanted: That's it for today!!! ^^
13. *hums Jingle Bells* Vash - DONUTS! The man loves donuts, give him some! I'd give him a years worth of coffee and donuts from Dunkin Donuts... Knives - A nice mental hospital, so he could get the thought of humans being worthless and universal domination out of his head. Milly - Pudding. Lots and lots of it. Meryl - Advice on Vash ^^ Domon - A good slap in the face. He needs it. Sai Saici - A resteraunt! Yay! More ubon noodles please! Chibodee - Nice kick in the nuts. George - Bottle of the strongest wed wine on the market. Maybe he'll get a hangover and stop being so proud. Argo - A personality. Rain - See Argo's gift. Yusuke - A gift certificate to a spa! He needs it. Hiei - New sword. To be precise, a new katana. ^^ Kurama - Rose garden! And I can be in there too! :blulaugh: Kuwabara - Plastic surgery. Miroku - Introduce him to online dating. Shippo - An art set! Wee! Sango - Some wood polish, ya know, for her boomerang. Kagome - A new bow and some really sharp arrows. Inuyasha - Alcohol. I'd like to see him get drunk. ^^ ^^ ^^ ...All I can think of right now, but trust me, I'll be back...
14. The Legatio is nice, and the font is two things to me: cool and annoying. It's a good font in the way of theme, but it is also hard to read. WOO! BLUE! I LIKE BLUE!!! ...*cough* It's also a bit plain, come to think of it, and the main focus is the blue background. It's okay, but definetly not your greatest piece.
15. Ditto. The Aros one is very nicly done and has a good theme to it. While the others banners are quite good, I have to say go with the Aros one.
16. Hehe, its so cute! ^^ I think I have a curse...whenever I post in a thread again, it always dies.... I'm on a SD Gundam spree, so sorry to all you guys who can't stand it. =P It's Gun Eagle! Wee! ^^
17. For me, banner threads die. I don't want this one to though, so please keep posting. ^^;; Yeah, I'll get right to it. Dunno if you saw this in the banner making contest: Zero. White Dragons. White Feather. Dragons. Made this one just recently: Yes, that's really kanji in the background, saying Bakunetsumaru. Made this for a girl named DemonBabe:)...13, to be accurate: Yes, it's suppossed to be like that. One I made for somebody but used they used it on their website Xo: I really like this one. ^^
18.
Prepare to be blown away by my first ever anime oriented banner. You all feeling pretty down now, eh?
Uh, no, not really....^^ This is the first (and probably only) SD Gundam entry. I LIKE IT! Nice and bright. Yeah.....And that says Lacroa in the background. Note: This is the one I'm going to enter, like it or not. ^^
19. Kyokokeiji and eldai, I suggest you put more effort into your posts if you don't want a mod bashing down on us. ~_~ Anyways, since people think my drawings are bad because they can see that I acutally drew it, I would like to be a judge. Also, eldai, I suggest studying some spelling books.
20. I'm taking a guess by assuming that you're using Paint? If it is, that's a pretty good banner for MS paint. The images blend well into each other, and I liked the fact that you used the bright green text on a readable surface, such as the blue. Very nice. 8/10
21. I'm not much of a fan for the first banners, but the one you just put up is very nice. It has a nice pastel-y effect to it, and the image of the dragon (type thing...) is really cool. It's nice to see different banners on the fourms, rather that ones made with a hard, sorta cold effect to them. It appears that yours have a lotta heart. ^^
22. Actually, it is. After I got used to saving images in .png and went back to .jpg, I realized how crappy/fuzzy/pixely/blurry things became. It's best to go with .png. It's a nice baner, it would've been greater if not for the text. ^^
23. TheGodlyMe, you have made this thread very interesting. Very. Since you keep talking about such things as Made in Japan and stuff, did you know that the seemingly all-American movie, "The Ring", is actually based on a manga? It's true. "The Ring", the movie that drew millions of dollars in the box office, is from a manga. Surprised? *mildly amused* America and Japan have grown tight in the span of 60 years, my friend. Both cultures are influenced by each other. I mean, look at all the Japanese products on the market here. Cars, cell phones, food, and various other stuff. Same goes for Japan and all the US stuff there. Over time, Japan and the US have grown from renowned enemies to almost best friends, if you would. Saying that a show such as Teen Titans is an anime wannabe is not right. That'd be like saying Honda is a Ford wannabe. Yet it's not. I know comparing anime and cars is a bit strange, but they're almost the same. TheGodlyMe, keep an open mind about everything. Don't exlude Teen Titans from the outer rings of the anime loop just yet. Remember that anime has grown in popularity over the past few decades. Here's something to think of: Me and my friends draw in the style of anime. Everything about our drawings is anime. And yet, you would say it's not anime? Anime comes in different shapes, forms, and varities, not to mention from different places. Think. ^_~
24. Here's a link to one I made of Hiei. It's for my friend, she's the Hiei fanatic. Here you idiot! For the Ladys, of course...
25. Dunno if this is going to be my banner or not. I personally like it; think it's kinda cute. The person I made this for didn't want it. XP Two more tries...
