1. Yeah, what Dagger said, seperating things into categories, such as "Best anime banner" "Best video game banner" "Best real-life banner" and etc. Make it so that certain people *coughEvolved_Dragoncough* don't win so easily. ^^ My list of categories would be: Best Anime Banner Best Video Game Banner Best Real-Life Banner ...and then you could probably divide the anime and video game one even more, by having (in anime) "Best romantic banner" "Best single character banner" and stuff like that. I plan on doing something, but I don't know if I want to be a contestent or a judge. I'd like to do both...*thinks as she opens up her Paint Shop Pro*
2. I don't know if this has happened/happens to anybody else, but recently (about the past week or two), whenever I check the "Who's Online" page, it always has me looking at thread that I have never looked at, ever. I know that if you go to the "Who's Online" page, it'll most likely show you viewing the forum or thread you were just looking at. Not for me. I have no clue if this is happening to anybody else, if it's a glitch or if some weirdo is hacking into my account (which I don't see why, I have nothing vaulble), but it's a little annoying and getting me a bit agitated. My most recent one was about five minutes ago, it showed me under "Bandit's New Banners (Updated... Whenever)" when I had never been there. This doesn't happen all the time, just most of the time, and I'm just wondering what the problem might be.
3.
Originally posted by shadowfire I actually have a pair of sunglasses like Vash's. Instead of a W shape in the frame legs they have a V shape and instead of being orange the lenses are red.
*extremly hyper* You do you do you do? Where'd you get them? How'd you get them? MUST HAVE VASH GLASSES!!!!!!!!! *sweatdrop* Okay. I feel better.
Originally posted by rttocs77 The bike in FLCL? You mean the Vespa? Vespa's are everywhere man. Especially in Italy and Spain.
Oops. Meant here in the states. Haha, forgot to say. I knew they were in the world out there...somewhere. But I would like Haruko's vespa. Ya know, the one with the P! design. ^^ But I guess I could put that on myself. (*pouting* Not the same...)
4. The other night I thought about this...have you ever wished that certain things in anime were avalible at your local Target? I know they're are some things that I wish I could have but can't. I don't mean things such as Digi-vices (if anybody cares about Digimon anymore XP) or Zoids, but more along the lines of the, er, props used by the character, such as Harkuo's motorbike and Goku's fight suit (no, not the Halloween costume version =P). Realisticly and non-realisticly, and reasons please. Realisticly I'm not sure what I'd want from an anime that could actually come true, but I like Haruko's outfit and bike from FLCL. They're so cool, and the motorbike would be fun to have to go around on. ^^ Also, her outfit is just the spiffiest. Really, er, stylish. I also think it would be awesomly cool if somebody put out a coat like Vash's (Trigun). That'd be so much fun to have; you could re-enact various scenes from the anime and run around like an idiot with a popgun going "I am Vash the Stampede! Outta my way!" Uh...yeah, moving on...*sweatdrop* Non-Realisticly There are two things that I'd like that are non-realistic - power readers from DBZ and my own Gundam! Woo! ^^ I think they power reader would be something really fun to have. You can see just how strong you are compared to the person you hate the most. It'd also be fun just to see what everything's power levels are. ("Let's see...I am a 2 while this apple is a....49? Huh?") Gundam. Yeah, every Gundam fan's fantasy. Mine would be a Mobile Suit Gundam from G Gundam. One problem with a Gundam is that it's too big...I'd have to convert my while backyard (about an acre) into a maitnence deck. Still though, it would be fun...
5. Hehe, this is a good idea. ^^ Yu Yu Hakusho Yusuke: Holy cheese on rye! (manga quote) Kuwabara: It'll be me sending you to hell! Kurama: Yoko in disguise Hiei: I have the power to pull you into oblivion, I assume just my tailgate will do. (Eh...bad...*sweatdrop*)
6. *looks around* Heh, I guess I'm the opposite. I've tried to watch Gundam Wing and I couldn't...to put it in a more understandable way, I hated it! I don't see why nobody here likes G Gundam. The animation isn't very good becuase it's from 1994! 1994 for God's sake! It's almost ten years old. As for what you said first, KarmaOfChaos, I think the storyline and stuff more believeable than Gundam Wing's. I mean, how can boys our age fight in this gigantic war and everything and end up victorious....I dunno even half of what I said, it's too confusing. XP I also don't see how people think that the Gundams in GW are better than the ones in GG. If you think about it, it'd be pretty hard to battle with a Gundam by sitting in a seat compared to being the Gundam itself. I'm kind of disappointed that every other Gundam series (movies, etc), basiclly revolves things in GW. I'm sure plently of people would love to have another series based off of G Gundam. And as for not getting into the plotline, I watched one episode with my friend (in about the beginning-middle of the series) and was instantly hooked. So I guess I'm different. *ducks as GW fans start throwing various objects at her* ::Being different is a good thing:: TV Dude: The ideas expressed in this post are strictly [strike]fact[/strike] opinion. One of the reason's Katana feels strongly about G Gundam is that she's married to Sai Saici.
7. .hack//SIGN is a wonderful anime, you just need to be able to understand it. It can be quite confusing at certain points. I would also recommend Fushigi Yugi, the manga. It's really, really, really good and really, really funny. I haven't seen the anime yet (although there's videos), but I've heard it's good. Just try certain things. If you like humor, go for Fushigi Yugi. If you like demons, myths, fights, and lite humor, go for Inuyasha. Animes come in different varieties, so just try some. Internet's good for research. ^_~
8. Me and my friends are starting librays of mangas...well, it's just me and my other friend Lorenza, but we still have one going. Luckily for her, she goes to this comic book store about every week, while I'm lucky if I get to Barnes and Noble...with money. XP One of the series we've come across is Fushigi Yugi. Actually, I read an article in a magazine about it about two years ago, and over the summer I let her read it. And on my birthday, she gave me two mangas: Fushigi Yugi 1: PRIESTESS and G Gundam volume 1. ^^ I absolutly LOVE Fushigi Yugi. I thought it'd be another typical girl-manga: ditzy character, falls in love with a guy who loves her back, etc. Well, the ditzy character part was true. Miaka is pretty ditzy/idiotic/not smart/pig...yeah. But while she falls in love with Tamahome, he doesn't love her the same way back. I could almost compare this series to Sailor Moon (which Lorenza has a lot of), except I like Fushigi Yugi a lot better. It's totally hilarious ("And...whatever shall I do about underwear?" A true tragedy.) and nicely developed with a good atmosphere. It's kinda on the brink of being rated T, but not really. The characters hardly ever say hell or damn, and it's in now way extremly bloody or violent, but there's a few things in there that I would never show a kid, such as the almost nudity at certain points (fan service), and the fact that
Kang-Lin is really a man who loves Hotohori, aka crossdresser
, but it's something that people from about 10 (if you're mature enough) to 18 or something would enjoy.
9. Would you like to know a scary fact? Okay. In the past few months, I have come up with *counts*...nine guys that I like. The one that isn't from an anime is Piers (Golden Sun: The Lost Age), but it's almost anime. ^^ (In no particular order, just in the order I liked them): 1.) Sai Saici, G Gundam - I think I've come across ONE person who likes this kid besides me. I don't know why, I think he's pretty cute. He's also a very talented cook and doesn't like quitting (he almost gave his life for his country! How great is that?). He's also one of the few guys that are young in age and still cute! 2.) Kurama, Yu Yu Hakusho - This is one that millions of fangirls love. I didn't like anybody from YYH at first. When I first told my friend to watch it, she came back the next day loving Hiei, while I had been watching it for almost a year (back in the days when YYH was on adult swim). Kurama is one of the few bishonens in anime that know how to treat women: with love and respect. He's a very kind guy, which you also don't see alot in bishonen, and (almost) gave his life for his mother (but was spared). I guess I have to say I like Suichii, not Yoko, Kurama the best. I just think he's hotter then (dude, I have never used that word before...-_-) 3.) Gohan, DragonBall Z - To be put specificlly, SSJ 11-year-old Gohan in the Chinese-style shirt. I view Gohan as one under appreciated character, for every fan girl goes for Trunks. *punches Trunks* I HATE HIM! Poor little Gohan left with no respect...I think the reason I like Gohan is that he's everything you could want for in a guy. Brains, bran, and a good heart. I only liked him when he was younger, unlike every other Gohan fangirl who likes him when he's a teenager. In every DBZ fic I have, my character always has a crush on Gohan. ^^ Ah yes, dreams...*kills Videl* Hehehe... 4.) 008, Cyborg 009 (the newer version) - This is one anime where you have almost no bishonens except for 009, according to the fangirls. Well, 008 is, to me, the one. I'm not racist, it's just that he's the only black guy on my list...don't know why. *shrugs* I think it's because animes don't have very many Africans or anything in there. While drawn in a funny style, I find 008 a really good-lookin' guy. He's also very nice and is built to adapt to the water! YAY! I LOVE WATER! *grins* I don't have much reason on him, I just like him. Because the series is so short and his character doesn't get a lot of light shed on him, I don't know him that well either. 5.) Piers, Golden Sun: The Lost Age - This is the videogame dude I told you about earlier. In Japan, GS: TLA is called "Kin'iro Taiyo" and then whatever. I think I like Piers because he's quite mysterious. He's handsome, too, and is quite a calm guy. I think I tend to go for guys with different color hair, for his is blue (and Kurama's is red and Gohan's is yellow...). Hmm. Er....next dude... 6.) Balmung, .hack//SIGN - Okay, this is where I tend to get shakey on the guys. Since Balmung was only in one episode of .hack//SIGN, I can't say I know a lot about him, but I know for one thing is that he's HANDDDDDDD-SOMMMMMMMMMMME! He's also a nice guy (I also tend to go for nice guys ^^), saving Subaru, Bear, and Mimiru from that monster and all. 7.) Zero, SD Gundam - This is where I get weird. I mean, having a crush on a Gundam? I am weird. Ah well. Zero tends to be a bit show-offy at times, but he goes for "a noble cause" - to go back him to Lacroa. He protects every girl he meets (which happens to be quite a few), and would definetly give his life to protect his home world and princess. I think that Zero has the potential of the three Gundams - brains, tactics, and honor, not to mention skill and kindness. I think the reaosn he's show-offy is because he wants to hide the sadness he has for him homeland. 8.) Sanosuke, Rurouni Kenshin - Haha, strong guy number...er...eight! Out of all my guys, Sano seems to be the one with the most attitude. He can be a jerk and annoying and you just want to punch him in the face, but I still like him. He has a lot of heart where it counts, such as in the people he loves and cares for, and almost died to protect Japan from Shishio. While I'm still getting used to the idea of me liking him, I have a good impression. *remembers something* He's premire episode is on tomorrow! Yay! 9.) Hotohori, Fushigi Yugi - I havne't seen the anime but I've read the first two mangas, Priestess and Oracle, and I LOVE him! Hotohori is almost like Gohan - smart, strong, skilled, and cute. He also fights for his kingdom, which is nice, considering most emperors would make his army fight for him. I got a little tired towards the end, so that's why I didn't go on and on forever about the last two. I thought this would go on forever...thanks for reading this (if you did) ^^.
10. I'm just wonderin' if anybody's reading my note under the Hiei banner....(I put it there two days ago). This is one I made a while ago...10/25. This is one of my better banners (except for the text color), I think, but the guy (Vincent, Final Fantasy) looks alot like Domon....especially in the chibi form. o_O The person never responded to the thread....and now it's lost on some page in the Banner/Avatar Request forum. :bawl:
11. Gohan Gohan Gohan Gohan Gohan....I LOVE HIM! ...Anyways, the first one is okay, but the image of Tsukasa on the right is kind of....glitchy, I suppose. It's not that bad, just needs a better image (or were you going for that effect?). 6/10 The second one, I've seen that guy before, although I have no idea who he is...if you told me, I'd suddenly realize it. I like it, the blue of the background and the images mix well together, as do the font. 9/10 The Hellsing one is pretty good. I'm not a fan of it, so I dont' know much about the series, but that's a nice banner. Simple and well-mmixed. 8/10 The fourth one is my favorite, Gohan. Because he's my favorite and I'd rant on forever on how it's the best, I won't say anything. ^^ Nice job, though.
12. The banner is yet to be finished, so that's why there's no border or anything. And I know that some parts got erased/painted, but I planned on doing that. ^^ Anyways, I just made this for somebody in the Banner and Avatar request forum. They asked for a FLCL banner, so I went with Haruko. I love my banner! (I've never used the seperate sections thingie before =^o^= ) *prays that her thread won't die*
13. Haha, I finally get that banner! I couldn't read the text at first, but those are hilarious! Vash using "the force" to lift a donut and Wolfwood bracing with a lightsaber is really funny, and suit their personalities. Question: Where'd you get those pics that you use, or do you make them yourself?
14. *clears throat and looks at two out of two people in the audience* Hi! As some of you know, I am Katana, the kinda wannabe banner maker. Lots of people like my stuff, which makes me feel...er....happy? First thing's first, I am only 12. I have no money at the moment *holds out empty wallet: "Broke...completly broke...."*, and so I can't/don't do anything extravagant. But still, it's fun to see well-known banner makers such as Evolved_Dragon groan because I posted a banner in a thread they posted a banner in too. ^^ (No offense, E_V) Well, I'll probably get to explaining stuff later on, but first, this is my project from a while ago: a Hiei banner for my friend. It's not finished yet, I need to ask what she wants for a quote and stuff, but here it is! (She likes orange and green, I threw in some black...it looks quite funky, ne?) ::BANNER YET TO BE COMPLETE:: PS: Oh yeah, comments, critisizm, whatever, are appreciated. ^^
15. I am NOT insanne, crazy, etc. Ask JoyKaiba, I just signed up. ^^ ---------- Komeko looked up. Ahead of her was a small town. The first thing that caught her eye was a bar. "Alright!" she said, picking up her pace slightly. A wind of dust blew in front of her, making Komeko cover her face. About ten minutes later, while she sat in the bar wating for her order, a conversation between two middle-aged men caught her attention. "There's four of them," one said. "Two boys and two girls (I hope I got that right). Gun...peoples." His accent with thick with alcohol. He had clearly been drinking for a long time. The other man spoke. "Two girls? Didn't think that girls would use actual guns." Komeko couldn't stand it. "What's wrong with that?" she demanded, standing up. The two men looked at her. "What's with you, kid?" the first one asked. "Looks too young to be in a bar," said the second one. "Maybe...what? 12?" The two burst out in laugher as Komeko's face grew red. "For your information, I am 15! Although most people often mistake me for 13, I have to say, you two brought it to a new extreme." They stopped and looked at her. "You? You're 15? Wouldn't have guessed." Komeko sat down, a few stools away from the two in a huff. The bartender brought her order, white wine in a beer tankard. "You over 21?" he asked. "Wouldn't you like to know," she mumbled, taking a sip. The bartender just shrugged and held out his hand. "$$10," was all he said. Taking out her wallet, Komeko paid him and he left. She sighed and drank. ----- "And I beat you AGAIN!" she exclaimed fifteen minutes later, which one would find her at a blackjack table, being half drunk. The man she faced, about 20, banged his head on the table, then handed her thirty double-dollars. "See ya later," she said, standing up and walking out of the bar. She felt a wave of releif being spread across the building she left. As Komeko jumped down the stairs, a few panicked voices caught her attention. Instinct told her to pull out the gun, which she did and ran towards the voices. -------- I hope that's not too bad for my first post here. Thanks!
16. Hope I'm not too late. ^^ ----------- Name: Kameko (haha, funny thing...means symbol for long life) Age: 15 (looks 13 though) Appearance: Short, light blue hair that is set in spikes (drape down, not up), blue eyes, a criss-cross necklace that wraps around her neck, blue t-shirt with light green vest, dusty blue jeans, white boots, and a red cape. Sometimes wears brown gloves (like Haruko's from FLCL). Weapon(s): A .45 long colt that goes into a holster on her jeans and a derringer in her vest, just in case. Bio: She will always say there isn't much to tell about herself, although there is. People often mistake Kameko for a kid becuase of her looks, although she isn't short, and her childish attitude, even though she's really 15. Or at least she thinks she is (hint hint ^^). If you ask her anything about herself from five to ten years ago, she couldn't tell you anything and she doesn't know why. Komeko seems mysterious, but really isn't, just confusing Most of what she can tell you is when she first picked up a gun (four) and when she first fired it (four), but that's about it. Komeko doesn't even remember why she's wondering around, she just is. Her one purpose is to find Vash the Stampede. She doesn't know why, though, but maybe he can answer some of her questions. Good or Bad: Good --------------------- Sorry if my bio sounded a bit....confusing.
17.
Originally posted by Metatron So... if a Japanese producer, along with an entire team of Japanese artists make an animation in... lets say Australia, then it automatically doesn't become anime?
Exactly It really depends also on how you view anime. Teen Titans, really, is an American-made cartoon with Japanese elements. So how you define it, anime or cartoon, is basiclly what you think. I would put Teen Titans into my "Middle" category of shows, where it sorta lies in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, because it's neither anime nor cartoon...it's like an anitoon or something (boy am I creative ^^). I, personally, love Teen Titans. Some of the traits of anime (or at least to me) it has are: -Developed characters: Characters that are more than "Hey, I'm here, that's it." -Elements: The eyes (Raven, Starfire, and Beast Boy), the sweatdrops, the spazing dots (where it looks like spit, I guess), and all those others things you would find in anime that you wouldn't in cartoons. -Simple plotline: What I mean by this is that most sucessful animes have simple and straightforwards plotlines, but that actually have meaning to them (such as Dragon Ball Z or Digimon). Cartoons really don't have any, it's just guys going on different "adventures". Those are really all I can think of for the moment. So, my answer is... Anime is in Japan and cartoons are in North American, and since Teen Titans is an anitoon, it's in the Pacific Ocean. ^^
18. I don't think they look that bad. I can't draw any other shoes besides: socks, feet, and boots. ^^ As for Megumi's, I thought that was awesome! It's like me and my friends, except I would be a demon, Lorenza would be an elf, Diance would be a...monkey...? And then, Eclectic's is...er...a tad weird. The first one looks...*thinks* I'm not sure. It's pretty good though. ^^
19. Evean sighed. "At this rate, we're never gonna get to the mountains." "We better," Moriko responded. "Or one of us is going to have to be sacrificed." She shot an evil grin at Mori-Sora, who laughed nervously. "Don't worry, we won't eat you," said Evean. "We'll have to find some other sort of food. And there's plently in a forest." "I guess," said Moriko, sighing. A little ways down the road, Mori-Sora began to talk. "Well, what are we going to do once we reach the mountain? The soldiers are out of the way, or at least for now, and I guess we're all feeling pretty okay." Moriko shrugged. "I guess. If we get hurt, I can heal for a bit, and, well, after that, we meet our dooms." Evean rolled his eyes. "We will not. I'd die before I let that happen." "....That doesn't make sense," said Mori-Sora. Evean raised an eyebrow in thought. "Uh..." Moriko and Mori-Sora burst out in laughter. -------- Short, yes. WE NEED OTHER PEOPLE TO POST HERE!!!
20. Well, I have to say that that one is a tad scary. I'm one of those cool/happy/funny drawing people. Not the..er...dark drawing people. Man, that first one is so bad! I don't see what people see in it, I think it's horrible! :D :D :D Dude, I'm just kidding. I think that drawing is totally awesome. I suggest, however, making the image size smaller so you don't have to scroll through different sections of the image. Awesomly dudeicle sketches... #1: 9/10 #2: 7.5/10
21. Woo, thank you both for posting! ^^ ------------ The three of them stood there, wating patiently. After what had been five minutes, but seemed like forever, Nami looked at the guards. It took only one glance at the guards to see what was wrong. "Why can't we be let in?" Dondar demanded. The guard on their right spoke. "What is with the girl? You know they don't belong here." Wolf and Dondar looked at Nami, who only sighed, then looked up. "Sir, I am Tsuyousinis Namithanlei of -" "Yes, we know who you are," the guard on their left said dryly. To Wolf and Dondar, he asked, "Why do you travel with this wrench?" "Why not?" Wolf asked, smiling. The guard gave an annoyed huff, but opened the gates for the three. --- "I can't believe I made it here," Nami said out loud. "Why not?" Dondar asked. "I thought you'd make it." "Thanks," came the grumbly reply. He shrugged and turned to Wolf. "So what do we do from here?" "From what I know, we wait to have our stuff put away in our rooms, then we wait for some second year page to sponser us. You know, get us aquainted with the castle." Dondar nodded and turned around. "First year pages, pay attention!" came a sharp voice. Everyone's heads snapped to the front. A tall, middle-aged man came into the hall, his hands covered in scars. He wore thick riding pants, leather boots, and a neck-high shirt with the palace colors of blue and silver. His hair was beginning to show the man's age; it was sprinkled with white in various places. "As you are aware, there are two girls in our midts." There was a whisper of voices. Two? Nami thought. Who's....who's the other?
22. Katana

first wall

Okay, lemme try and guess...the image you cropped was the one with Kenshin on the side! Am I right? Anyways, I think that's pretty good. The sunburst effect in the right hand corner fits in really well with the images (really pretty...^^). I'm guessing that the image of Kenshin and Kaoru isn't from Rurouni Kenshin, it's from...er...wasn't it Samurai X? I think so... ...(has just looked up Samurai X images). Well, the Kenshin in those images are much more...scary looking then that one, so I guess that passes as Rurouni Kenshin! It's a really nice wallpaper, I must say. You did a very good job. 9.9/10 PS: Er, by wall, do you mean wallpaper?
23. I think what PT was doing was matching the movie's colors. Yellow and black. I think the banner is pretty good, since the Kill Bill posters don't have many elements to them. (I like the Kill Adam one though. ^^) I think it's okay, not fantastic. I'd say...er...7/10
24. Moriko sighed, but then quickly recovered as one of the knights swiped his sword down at her. "Eep!" she cried, hopping out of the way. She then turned around to face the knight and tried to pierce his armor. "Why don't you die already?" she asked him. He smiled and swiped at her again. "Because of filth like you, I can murder anyone I want!" She growled and swung down with all her strength, then flipped her blade around. "I think I won," she said, then pierced his neck. "Okay, well, that's another down," said Evean, as he battled with another warrior with a spear. "I just wish they'd go AWAY!" He striked down hard, his hands wringing from the vibration. He clenched his teeth, then striked again. "We don't have enough power," Mori-Sora said, firing another arrow. "Wish we had...errr...I don't know....Rann or something." She grunted slightly as she fired another arrow, then dropped down her crossbow and picked up her sword. Moriko growled again as she ran after the other crossbow. She held her sword like a spear, then jumped up and pointed it downwards. The blade broke through the man's chainmail cap, then his skull. "Yeck," Moriko said as blood began to ooze onto the ground. Mori-Sora grinned. "Well, they're gone. Just he moronic - hey! Watch it!" A swordsman had swung his blade down at her. "Don't you know it's impolite to attack a lady?" "Yeah," he said. "But you're not one." Mori's eyebrows furrowed together. "Really? I guess I shouldn't hold back then." Moriko laughed. "You mean you haven't been attacking with full force? That's funny." -------------------------------------- I'm sorry if that didn't make any sense....I'm sorta empty minded at the moment. Wait...I shouldn't say that....man...>_<
25.
Originally posted by KarmaOfChaos I'm surprised no one has mentioned my favorite yet. It's Kureneko-sama from Trigun. He's so cute and...random. He's the perfect kind of comic relief for a show like Trigun. Adam actually listed all the places he appears on the show on www.theotaku.com. It's pretty spiffy. ^-^ All hail Kureneko-sama! -Karma
YAY! YOU GO! Kuroneko-sama is definetly my favorite anime pet. I even have his plushie. ^^ But my complete list would be 1. Kuroneko-sama 2. Puu (he's Yusuke's soul, so I'm not sure if he counts as a pet) 3. Ryo Oki 4. Ein And so on and so forth. Kuro because he's cute, random, and just there for comic relief. Puu's hilarious, and the fact that Hiei is always making fun of it is really funny. Ryo Oki because she's so cute....a hybrid cat-rabbit-spaceship is always adorable. ^^ And Ein because...well...he's cute! I think he also provides comic relief for the show.
