It's times like this - okay, you know what, it's all the time that I wish I had an actual console. I'm sure the GameCube is hidden around here somewhere, but otherwise I haven't had access to a decent console in ages. My brother has the 360 in his room (and going in that room is like walking into death), said brother also sold the PS2 years ago, and the Wii is usually not touched very often. I do have a DS and a computer, though. DS: Still need to beat Ace Attorney: Investigations, which got shafted because it was released during my spring break and had to be pushed aside in order for me to finish projects...then the week of my return to school, Pokemon SoulSilver was released. I need to work on that too. I've also got Scribblenauts and Drawn to Life for whenever I feel like playing random drabble, whereas Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days has been rotting since like, November. I could also stand to work on Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations some more. PC: Found my copy of Sims 2 while cleaning my room. Need I say more?

I've been pretty light on anime and manga as of late, which is a bit sad, but I think it's just how I am right now. Uhhh, let's see... Anime Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood - I've been watching the Adult Swim broadcast but I haven't watched it in a while. I think it's getting to a new point that the first anime hasn't done, so I might as well get back into it. Monster - Another one I was watching on TV (Syfy) but haven't watched in ages. I mean, it's broadcasted on Monday nights and the end of the school year meant I was hiding in the art building a lot at night so I would forget to watch. Other than those two, I haven't been keeping up with series all that much... Manga Fullmetal Alchemist - Again, the US release, finally got all caught up with the US releases when I bought five volumes in one go. Considering I (had) invested in 17 volumes, it made little sense to just stop. So now I'm up to 22 and still worship at Arakawa's feet for her artwork. Otomen - Okay, this one is like, out of nowhere. Not a popular series or anything, but I picked up volume 1 one day in the bookstore and can't help but feel it's like my guilty pleasure. The artwork is nice and crisp and a bit different, but still shoujo; the story predictable (not helped by the author's notes in the volumes being placed before they should be) and plotpoints cheesy and sometimes ovrer-hammy, but dammit, I can't help but love this series. And it's odd, because I'm rather discriminatory in my taste (in other words, I won't read/watch crap), so obviously there is something different and unique with this series. Maybe 'cause it's being told from a guy's POV. What's also nice is that it is never too dramatic. Sure, it can be over-the-top, but it doesn't wallow in the dramallama. Oyasumi Punpun - Again, a random series that a friend of mine shared with me. It follows the life of the main character Punpun as he goes from grade to middle to high school. While the rest of the artwork is really freaking amazing, Punpun and his family are drawn as bird...penguin...things. Also, despite the fact that his family is drawn cutsey, this is SO not a kids manga, it's got, uh, naughty things in it that make it completely worthy of the 18+ rating. I haven't poked at this in a while, but I would like to read it s'more. Yotsuba&! - Not much to say about this other than the fact that I CRIED TEARS OF JOY when I saw that YenPress had picked it up. I don't like the (very very small) changes they made from the ADV release (Yotsuba refers to herself in the third person fairly often, plus they left in Japanese honorifics which is just odd), but I'm just happy to have the series being released here again.

Don't mean to be a hog, but I shall to claim next. :V Edit from the DST FOOTORE: Here it be. If the edge is too hard to transition, I'll fix it up.

Shishou is bullying me into doing this, so I'll claim the next spot. *dodges brick* Edit from ZEH FOOTORE Sooo I probably had way too much fun with this. [OFFICIAL] Otakuboards Nifty Fifty 2009 Final(ly)
Katana replied to Gavin's topic in General Discussion
How in the world did I get deemed nifty? That's...wow. But since I did win...some...how...I will say...Uh. Thanks? 8D;; And congrats to everyone else. I love the cracktastic bunch that we are. And my baby of Movie Sign won! ;w; [strike]Also WAY TO BE LAZY ON THE BANNER BOO.[/strike] -
This is kinda like a "how hardcore are you for cosplay" sort of question. I don't wear glasses, so I can't personally attest on the difficulty of wearing them versus not wearing them and how much you can see, but to me, cosplay is meant to be fun, not srs bzns. I always go for comfort over sacrifice, so if you feel you can pull off the costume without wearing glasses, go for it. If not, then don't. I basically echo what Sara said, and only the jerkwads will call you out on it. :P

It blows my mind that they arrested a kid for something like this. Especially because doodling in pencil is how I always doodled on the desk, and for the very reason that it could be erased. P: I do believe the worst of the teachers for desk-doodling when I was in high school was the German teacher who would...make you clean the desks.

*pounce* I claim! o3o Zeh edit: So...yeah. There it is. Random crap from around the pictures folder. Gooood times. :3

The OtaKuties- Critiques/Betting Thread [E]
Katana: Is... is that a whole orange? 8/ Just so you know, jackassery stopped being a cool thing about a year ago. ;P But your text shows you're a lighthearted girl, which will get you far in this world.
Oh, oh God no. It's a quarter of an orange. Okay. It was late. I hadn't consumed a meal in nine hours. It was a school night. I was surviving off of crackers, pretzels, random fruit, and some coffee. We had been marching. I went a total of five miles. Oh, and it was pouring rain. I was deluuuuusional. But I know, it's stupid. ;D That's what makes it so cool. (Just to anybody who's curious, there were two pictures taken with me and that orange. Lawl 1 has me learning the meaning of life. Lawl 2 is the picture I used...plus my poor friend in the background that has to survive me. >_>; ) I'll get far in life. Cool. 8D -
The best part is, this picture shows how much of an effing idiot I am What's your favourite hobby? *pauses for effect* I have a wide range of hobbies, though most sadly revolve around my computer...Uh...I enjoy writing and drawing, both of which I do way too much of. I also like graphic design, which I hope to one day make my career out of. Though really, I simply love hanging out with my friends, since we're just a bunch of insane idiots. xD;; I guess the trait is contagious... What do you think your best personality trait would be? After a long, painful session of thinking, I've come upon the fact that I speak my mind no matter what...which is probably a strong point in my personality, believe it or not. I've gotten in trouble, but I've also protected some of my friends and initiated some really cracked up conversations and groups. It's a strong trait of mine, and most likely the one I'm known for if it had to be picked. * That's an orange in my mouth, by the way. >_>; This is why I don't like black and white photos so much...*shot'd*
Sandy, my respect for you has remained untarnished through this entire debacle. Despite being at odds with one another years ago in the Digimon forum...
Wow, that's old. If I were told that, I think I'd go running outside, screaming my head off of, "That's flippin' ancient history!" But regardless, that's my own opinion. XD All I can say is that I'm proud to have been in [strike]Larb's[/strike] White's event, since it was a bag of fun. But I also think Shy's decision says something about White, and generally our whole age group - and that is that you don't have to be "old" to be good at something. I'm not saying this as a sort of "in-your-face" thing, I'm merely pointing out something I find interesting. So...Herzlichen Gluckwunsch, White. =D

Seriously Alla, you should've let old wounds heal. Mmk? And by the way, there was one thing I forgot to mention in my sort of demented dream-sequence (of which I thought of during a particuarlly boring chemistry class). Boo and I were to reveal something extremely crucial to you guys, something that would make all your detective work and "how do we connect the dots?" thing just go to waste: Boo and I picked our targets by drawing names from a hat. Despite the difference of America (myself) and Netherlands (him), he put names in a hat and just drew them out. Delta was the unfortunate first victim. =P There's some parting words I would like to say, and that is concerning the "ally" network: As much as I didn't put a ton of effort into it, it's not like anybody put effort into it towards me. Roxie IMd me once, and that was actually a really random conversation about randomosity. After that, nobody except Boo IMd me (and even then, all we did was talk about other things). And then there were simply times when I was dead or annoyed and seriously did not want to talk about Mafia. Regardless, I would like to be a Townsperson next time, just so that I can have some fun figuring out the roles of people. XD It sucks being deceptive. But I give myself credit, I managed to outwit you guys for a long time there... Band-Aid'd! PS: Allamoroph = typo. Got it memorized?

I'm always confused when it comes to terms in this. I refer to the Chinese signs as the zodiac, while I call the traditional ones astrological signs. Meh. 1.) What is your birthday? August 2nd, 1991 2) What is your Zodiac sign? Leo in the traditional version, Goat/Ram/Sheep in the Chinese version 3) How does your Zodiac sign describe your personality? Because Wikipedia freakin' rocks: Leo is the fifth sign of the Zodiac and is associated with creativity and drama. Individuals born under this sign are thought of to have a proud, honest, generous, self-motivated, charismatic, warm-hearted, and enthusiastic character, but one which is also prone to conceit, bullying, rigidity, intolerance, and snobbery. Element = Fire Ruling Celesital Body = Sun The Sheep is artistically talented and has a great sense of fashion. Chances are that this type will prefer to be a designer or painter, or go into the kind of profession where he/she can make the most of his/her gift for creating beautiful things. These people are considerate creatures - they think before acting, and try not to hurt anyone's feelings. If it ever happens that the Sheep person causes unforeseen problems, it is very likely that he/she will step forward to rectify the situation. This side of their character helps them maintain a healthy social life as well as enabling them to deal with life's ups and downs. Sympathy is very important to these people as is the approval of people they respect. However, they sometimes require too much attention and impose too much on those who are close to them. Sometimes they are too sensitive for the real world; they often misinterpret situations. People born in this year are insecure. They need to feel loved and protected. They are easily drawn into complex predicaments. This being, so, they usually shy away from confrontation, pull back when faced with heavy decision-making situations, and blatantly refuse to take an unpopular stand in a conflict. (My) Element = Metal Zomg, that's amusing. Oh, and one more thing I have to point out - Wiki gave me a list of what Leos are supposed to look like. Let's make a checklist! Broad shoulders: Yes (part of what makes me ungirly...) A ruddy complexion: Pretty much A roundish head: Yeah Trim hips: Well, they're not large >_>; Thick hair: God yes Commanding eyes: Yeap 8D Thick and well-formed eyebrows: Sure, but I keep mine neat Large and evenly-spaced teeth: Unfortunately yes Straight nose: Sure, why not Average height or slightly above: Haha, I'm short XD I'm not ugly! Go see me in the OtaKuties! >

Aww. I had a dramatic finish in mind as well. >_>; Eh, well, cool. At least I lost to people who I enjoyed roleplaying with. But now that I'm off to hang with the cool people - hey wait, I just got an idea... The scene cuts to a cafeteria, where a bunch of dead souls are getting some grub. At one table sit the dead members of the Event - in other words, Delta, Sakura, Ilkillion, John, Boo, Tekkaman, and Katana. Delta is amazingly indifferent, Sakura is absently staring at the wall, Ikillion is telling his story to anybody who'll listen about how he was falsely accused, while John, Boo, Tekkaman, and Katana talk about the course of the Event. Suddenly, Delta speaks. "Hey...what about the folks back down in the Town?" John looks on with mild interest. "Eh? What about them." "I mean...they're alive, and they think the Mafia is rooted out." Tekkaman raises an eyebrow, pointing at Boo and Katana. "The Mafia is rooted out, since Bonnie and Clyde are here with us." Katana looks off to the side, muttering, "I'll get you for calling us that, Sandy..." "Well, uh...what's your point?" Sakura asks loudly to move the conversation on. Delta straightens her back. "Think about it. The Mafia is a freakin' Mafia. There's more than two members. ...Right?" She looks at Boo and Katana, both of whom have blank expressions on their faces. "Uh...yes. Yes, we do have more than two members," Boo answers awkwardly. "Who?" "We cannot divulge that information, it's classified." "You're dead; what threat could it pose?" "...The minds of the innocent." The entire group, including Katana, sighs at the useless answer. "I tell you who the real threat is, though." Ikillion perks up. "Yeah? Who?" "Larb. ...I mean, White." "...What? Why Mayor White?" "He's the effing mayor, and yet he did nothing to protect you guys. What kind of mayor does that?" An uneasy silence falls over the group before John stands up, slamming his hands on the table. "Father Allamorph...protect the innocent women! Make sure Roxie and Mom can get out alive!" Down in the Town, Father Allamoroph looks up from his humble bowl of soup. "I hear a voice..." he murmurs before looking out the window to the town. A dark cloud, like an ink splatter in the sky, inches its way closer to the town that had suffered unimaginable horrors for the past month. Shooting up from his humble chair, Father Allamorph darts out to the Town. ...And...that's it. xD (Sorry for the italics.)

Notice how I never said I was looking for sympathy. You, being a person who's accusing me, obviously weren't going to give me any. I'm a person that reacts harshly when accused, and that's the way I've always been. Whether it be my parents or a teacher, I always get angry when I'm randomly pointed at for doing an act. Remember how in the beginning of Mafia, Tekkaman pretty much freaked out at the accusation of him being a Mafia member? Everyone was suspicious with him, but the evidence and we were weak, so no action was taken. I guess what I get angry with the most with this game is the fact that people have built these networks of allies, so if you're not in on it (half of you guys aren't on AIM that much), you're screwed. That's how I felt when Tekkaman revealed he and John were allies. I am just saying, but in the original Mafia, it was you all by yourself. It made things more exciting and interesting, too. Also, that conversation was really...I don't even remember it, but I'm not a person who changes topics on purpose. I do remember talking to you, but we were just talking, that's it. Neither of us really brought up Mafia, so I don't see that as being a point of accusation. As I've stated, I'm already as good as dead, what with the majority (*cough* two) against me. Just get it over with, then.
-
Here's the problem, my dear Allamorph: I'm going to be accused as guilty as it is. Why? Simply because there are merely four players left in the game - myself, yourself, Mom, and Roxie. Two of them are already against me, and I can't vote for or against myself, so thus, what should I do? I'm pleading innocence, but even if I managed to sway your mind, it wouldn't matter because I have two of three against me. Unless I can really be convinced otherwise - and I'd also like to see Roxie's reasons - I'm just going to sit here and wait for my death to come. When you have few people left and most have made of their mind, the game just isn't fun anymore. I request coffee and waffles as my last meal, please.

The OtakuBoards Nifty Fifty of 2006 (Nominations Thread)
Katana replied to Shy's topic in General Discussion
First post, saweet. +D Let's jump right in! What is it? The OtakuBoards Graphic Worm Why is it nifty? The fact that graphic artists from all walks of styles could come together and make a harmonious piece simply made it something to behold. There's something about working together with others and having that strange feeling in your gut of Is my piece going to work? that draws one to it. The OBGW was about blending pieces and styles, not standing out on your own, and to make something of unity that could be admired. I have to leave now. Perhaps I shall continue this later. *bricked* -
Tralala... This one was actually a good time, seeing as how my best friend often requests these sort of pieces from me. XD The picture definetly reminded me of her. The one thing I couldn't do was have the angel placed off-center, due to how the picture cut off. But other than that, I took some creative license in stuff. This one was a lot of fun. 8D If you would like anything changed, feel free to say so. =3

It's quite depressing that he died, though I'm hit hard because he was one of my favorites musicins (me being a band person and all). James Brown was teh haxor. Cool beyond words. The animation was cool too. XD I really miss the days of OB history, in which a person's animation in the art forum really meant something entertaining and epic. Now, it's a lost art. ...I smell a revival. =O Rest in peace, buddy, and may your music play on.

This brings me back to my old days at the OB, and my karaoke Kenshin avatar was somewhat notorious...yeah, I always needed help with animation re-sizes.
EDIT: The answer is in both of your siggys. Ring any bells? I should've figured that you two were Mafia from Square 1. It was so damn obvious that I think I should slap myself in the head a couple of times. You know who i'm talking about Boo, you know that no matter what you post from here on out, I know your true self. You're Mafia and it's a fact now. I've interviewed most of the members already and I have their true statements. It was only a matter of time.
Let me get something straight: Boo and I joined Mafia on two totally seperate terms. If you really want to dig into the past, you'll see there's only one RPG we both participated in. We talk to each other and joke around, but both of us have very little influence on the other when it comes to OB things. Not only that, but we were hitched AFTER Mafia started. Please put two and two together. But possibly what I'm most offended by is your making an automatic assumption without even interviewing everybody. How can I, or anybody, believe your statement when you don't have the case of every participant? You can't go blindly pointing fingers. Just one more thing - even if I was apart of the Mafia, do you really think I would be so stupid as to put evidence in something as public as my signature? Don't put me down so much. You know, after all that's been happening, I'm thinking Tekkaman is apart of the Mafia. He's throwing out all this **** and just generally ticking people off. Misleading? Deceptive? Evasive? Sounds like a Mafia trait. I've been rather quiet and passive this whole game, but now I'm just angry. Our Detective's dead, innocent Ikillion has been hanged, and now I'm being accused without suffcient evidence. And I missed the train this morning to go to a band convention in Chicago. Ugh.

I've experinced nothing different in the change-up of event leaders, except for that the fact that Sandy may be missing a step or two. However, the way I've experinced Mafia is that it's extremely partipcant-based, where we're essentially given a timeframe and a subject and set to roam free. White isn't/wasn't there to keep it together, he was just there to call us back in when the next stage was set to begin. Mafia is taking longer because, I believe, we have several different things occuring. There are debates and conversations as to who is what role, and we have to wait to accomodate certain things, such as timezones (Boo, for instance). If the event leader was to cut us off right when a person had a point to bring up, it could really kill the event. Therefore, when things have settled or when things are getting out of hand (look in the past at the Tekkaman v. Boo Case), the leader pops in to get things rolling. Overall, I believe the "lack" of speed has been due to the fact that we're getting ourselves comfortable; not wanting the event to pass by in a flash. To be a good Event Master, I believe that the well-being of your people comes first. (There are such things, like The OtakuBoards Scavenger Hunt, that obviously needed a restricted timeframe, but that was much different than the events going on now.) As to the whole "it doesn't appeal to enough members" aspect that's been going on for ages, I don't think it's really the creators fault as much as it is the person's fault. If you didn't sign up, then don't complain about how you're not able to be in it. If you don't visit the Community Events forum, don't whine about missing the chance. The aspect of "responsibilty" has been lost on many people recently, a sad fact of our day and age. The counter-argument to that is that the events occuring only appeal to a certain number of people. Well, yes and no. But really, you can only accomodate so many people, and the final decision may not always be the one everybody likes. (Yeah, uh, that was a recent essay question on a history test...) I would like to say good luck and break a leg to whoever comes out to be the Master. After all the arguments and criticisms, you definetly earn it.
-
Okay, cool. I'm glad to see we're on the same terms here. By the way, it really creeps me out when you change the colors of the font for people's names. o.O I dunno why. I feel like somebody in the back of my mind is screaming. XD
