1. Having just woken up twenty minutes ago, it was obvious that Ginger wasn't ready for the day. She yawned immensely, her eyes watering, which splattered when the bus jerked to a stop. The only thing that was possibly keeping her awake was the music player in her pocket, its corresponding headphones shelling out some ironically themed music. "Schadenfreude...people taking pleasure in your pain. Haha!" "Schadenfreude, huh? Wha-what's this, some kinda nazi word?" "Yeap. It's German for 'happiness at the misfortune of others'." "'Happiness at the misfortune of others'...that IS German!" "Damn you puppets. And you Gary Coleman too. Don't you dare take pleasure in my pain! For I will castrate you with a plastic spork!" Had people not been paying attention to an idiot whom had tripped over a fire hydrant, she would've most certainly been kicked off the bus. Or something. "I keep telling you to watch what's in front of you!" the idiot's companion seethed. "'I keep telling you' nuh nah nuh," the idiot quipped. "Your mom tells me to watch before I step." "What's with all these 'your mom' jokes, huh? Not to mention yours was pretty bad." "Hey, you started it!" "You were dumb enough to continue, oh man-who-trips-over-fire-hydrants!" The two continued bickering as the walked down the bus aisle and found seats. Ginger rolled her eyes. "There was news that we'd be getting interns...those two better not be it." She unwrapped the blueberry muffin in hand and nearly ate the thing in two enormous bites. After gulping, coughing, and nearly choking, she sighed. "Then again...we could always use an idiot to liven things up around the office." What a highly coincidental thing to say.
2. Ha...that was great. Still confusing in the beginning, though, where it's sort of like, "It's a blob that lives in an underground society that's advanced like us and they're all hobos and -" *dies from lack of breath* Etc. The moral is spot-on. Remeber children, if you don't stay in school, you'll be a poor hobo with no cardboard box to sleep in at night. Pity. =P And the name of the thread is perfect. =D
T'was baby-eatin' good. :whoops:[/FONT']
Random Fact: The cuter the creature, the better it must taste. Right? So veal tastes good. Babies must be mouth-watering. :3
3. I feel like being productive today, so I call next spot.. =3. *ker-sneeze* Blegh... ...And here it is: Rock on, little girl This was made while listening to the soundtrack for 'Spamalot'. Not exactly a good idea. =3 Oh, and that's Yotsuba, from the manga Yotsubato! (Yotsuba&!) by Kiyohiko Azuma. It's just that, whenever I think of "Rock on, little girl", I have a feeling that there's a song of this or similar title. >_> I tried to keep the bits of background white, but if the next person has transitioning problems, then I'll fix it. I can only tell so much. X3 By the way, earlier today, I went on a compression spree. Some pieces were taking up an enormous (read: I exagerate) amount of space. If you've noticed, I've been changing all .pngs to .jpgs for uniform and space purposes. Go ahead and continue with your .pngs, it really doesn't bother me. =D (Seriously. It doesn't. Stop looking at me that way. Don't be guilty. Stop. STOP!)
4. I'm glad to say that nobody's stolen my name(s) yet. =P
GINGER Gender: Feminine Usage: English Pronounced: JIN-jur Either a pet form of VIRGINIA, or else "ginger" from the English word for the spice or the reddish-brown colour
Whoo, I'm a spice! X3 Okay, I'm lieing, so we're off to my legal name..
VIRGINIA Gender: Feminine Usage: English, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Danish, Swedish, Romanian, Ancient Roman Pronounced: vur-JIN-ya (English), veer-JEE-nyah (Italian), beer-HEE-nyah (Spanish) Feminine form of the Roman family name Virginius which was possibly derived from Latin virgo "maid, virgin". According to legend, she was a Roman woman killed by her father so as to keep her a virgin. Virginia, the American state, was originally named in honour of Elizabeth I, the Virgin Queen.
So...I'm a spice that was killed by my father. Lovely. Waaaay back when I was in CCD, we had to look up our saint's names. Mine turned out to be the Virgin Mary, so there's that as well. I don't like the name Virginia. It's too stately for a hyperactive moron such as myself. Hence, whenever a peer calls me Virginia, I don't respond until they say Ginger. :3
5. *points* You made sprite comics! =D So yeah. The first thing I muttered when I came into this thread and saw the picture was, "Holy ****". Zomg, that's a huge collaboration of characters! I have a hard time doing those things. ;_; Well...it seems you have quite a stock of pictures. Miko, Kyro, and just generally the animals, reminded me of characters in Animal Crossing. XD (Hey, I love that game...) What all this really makes me think of is an old video game that uses highly-advanced 8-bit technology. You would get the manual, and as you look through it and see these awesome characters, you get really excited. Then you start the game, see them in their 8-bit glory, and cry a little bit on the inside. You want pretty pictures. Magus the Hoatzin...[strike]Naruto in bird form?[/strike] >_> I like the smooth coloring and the simple shading. You don't over-do any of it so that it looks out of place with the styling. Overall good job, but, as you pointed out, some characters need to be re-drawn or tweaked a little bit.
6. Not only do they make fun of the yaoi fangirls with Generic Girls 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, but they also make fun of female otaku. Who? Renge! The girl blurs reality and her video games, likes to classify people into stereotypes, and enjoys 'cosplay'. She just randomly appears with her 'High-Powered Motor" and then dictates how things should be. Renge is a bag of fun. XD Really, Ouran has so many elements within it, which is what makes it a great series. Even if the major themes are comedy, romance, and drama (eh..), there are really so many underlying themes. It's all fun. =D
7.
Prolly just me over-analyzing), the crossdressing, and my personal favorite...HUNNI-SENPAI! EEEEEE!
Hunny FTW! =D I was introduced to Ouran when I was over at a friend's house. She had the first manga out on the coffee table, so while she played Harvest Moon, I read that. The first chapter really confused me, and I had a hard time catching on to the character's names. >.> In fact, in the omakes, whenever the name "Hatori" popped up, I thought it meant Mori, not the author. >
8. #10 Just because you can't see it, Doesn't mean you can't feel, The man-love! You know, I'm just going to go out on a stupid limb and suggest the conspiracy that James is actually Man-Faye. We don't know - we can't see it - but some have a feeling that it's really him...
9. We're loving the red, I see. =D Ezekiel: I kinda went, 'OMG PURTY!' when I saw it. xD Horrah for non-monochrome. In other words, hurray for color! White: Well, you know, I have absolutely nothing to say about your piece. Except for the fact that when you say you calll it Waffles, I laughed hysterically. I have a friend who's called Waffles. X3 No no, I don't call the next piece. Somebody else, go~!
10.
Try Himura Kenshin > Book/Gospel of Matthew
Himura Kenshin > Cholera > India > Christianity > New Testament > Book/Gospel of Matthew Woo, six steps. =3 Be back in a minute for my thingie. Edit: Katana's Non-Challenging Challenge: Crystal Pepsi to Lambda
11. I don't think anybody in real life, outside of my friends and family, have gotten my age right. Seriously. I turned fifteen not even a week ago, but most people think I'm actually younger due to my rather short height and non-mature appearance. By that, I mean my face isn't exactly 'old' looking. =P People have mistaken me for being eleven or twelve, and some have garnered I was going into sixth or seventh grade when I was/am going into freshman or sophomore year. Teachers can never get my age right, even ones specifically set in my grade. Then again... This past spring, I went to the office because my locker was jammed, and had the dean come along with me. We passed the staircase to go the junior and senior lockers. He stopped, and wondered why I didn't. "Aren't you a junior?" "No, I'm a freshman..." Online, however, is an entirely different case...Whereas in real life, I'm thought of as some youngin', I've been given a wide variety of ages online. Dunno why, really. :3
12. Oh, come now, I'm not stressing. I just feel bad. =3 Plus, I needed to provide a reason as to why as I was dead for a week. >< Delta, I really love your piece. It's so purty! =D Simple but grungy, with smooth lines and flow...eeee! XD
13. I need a good RPG to try and get into. This seems perfect for me. *loves teh coffee* --------------------- Name: Virginia "Ginger" Carrigan Age: 31, though she's always been thought of as way younger. Even back in high school, she was thought of to be in sixth grade, due to her height and youthful complextion. Gender: Female Ethnicity: German, Swiss, Irish. Hence the last name. Appearance: She stands at barely 5'4", with smooth creamy-coffee (no pun intended) colored skin, brushed in rose. Dusty brown hair, streaked in gold, frames her face, cut to sit right at her earlobes, with long bangs that hover at her shoulders. She has ocean blue eyes, the pupils outlined in splashes of gold. Randomly, her cheeks are slightly red, with a stripe connecting the two. Ginger's work clothes typically consist of either a long or short sleeved shirt, one shade in color, with a jacket on top, cut at the waist. She switches between wearing loose khaki's and (clean) blue jeans, and swaps out her shoes in accordance to the season. Ever since her freshman year of high school, Ginger has been into weight lifting to keep in shape. She loves being able to smirk at men and telling them what she can lift, since she discovered she has a talent with it. She isn't ripped or buff, just slightly toned. Personality: A procrastinator with menial tasks, but she hurries her butt on assignments. Ginger has a strange insecurity in which she cringes at critiques and has a fear of what others are thinking when they talk to her. This type of thing isn't really expected of her, since she's usually independent, speaking her mind when she probably shouldn't. Other than that, she loves to joke and have fun, and despises the angsty and depressing people. Nobody can really crack who she is though, since various and random sides have been seen. Ginger is incredibly messy, but her office desk only reflects a small portion of that. In the largest draw is a collection of empty soda cans, and in another, art supplies for when she slacks off and draws. Family: All of her family live elsewhere, and far far away elsewhere. Ginger is the youngest of three children, her two older brothers shaping her a lot through her childhood. Boris thinks the two have a relationship, whatever that word may mean to him. Ginger is sort of thinking that way...but then tries to think of what screwed-up relationshop the two could have. Information: Standing as short as she does, Ginger has basically been a midget since, well, ever. It was a joke with her and her friends, but it still always bothered her. Whenever a person makes the tiniest insult to her height, she gets pissed off. After work, Ginger goes home and passes out for a while before shifting out to the city. Since she's as uncaring as she is with her clothes, and seeing as how she doesn't wear expensive things to work, she hardly ever changes from work to play. Her usual hang-out is a coffee shop with Wi-Fi access for her laptop, and other times, she goes out to explore the shops and activities. On Fridays, she hits up a bar. If she's really depressed and frustrated, though, she goes to the bar as well. One day, Ginger discoverd Boris's minifridge. And after a while, she began to stash her soda in there, which is where her soda-can-drawer-of-death gets its food. She first figured it as a joke, since the Dutch man probably wouldn't like it, but since he never got rid of them, she assumed he just didn't care. --------------- And, well, that's it. I'm full of the sickness, so I'm not thinking that well either. :3
14. Okay, so, it seems we have a bit of a problem. Doublehex, as much as I hate to sound discriminate, your submission is not going to be in the Worm. Like others have said, it's just not to par with the other submissions. You can get extremely creatidve with a program as simple as MS Paint, but just having a glob of an image makes the Worm look bad. Others have put tons of effort and work into their pieces, and having it next to a rather sloppy piece makes them a little sour. RiflesAtRecess's piece has been added. Boo's "I am inverted, lololol!!11!Shift+1!! ^________^" (>
15. I would have to totally agree. There have been problems before with patterns not matching up. I have both been a cause and have received it, and it's not too much fun to try and fix them. And anyways, I call the next part. 'cause I feel like it. >
16. Well, yes, White, your idea was basically what I meant. >
17. ... Wait, you mean this is still alive? Yeah, uh, sorry. I haven't been very active at the OB during my summer vaction. >< *is eaten alive by some random monsters* So yeah, I'll post them the two up. It's amazing that I haven't deleted the subdomain yet...*ahem*. I was thinking about doing that, but then again, I haven't checked here in a while and - *is once again eaten alive* x.x Really, at this point, I'm thinking that whoever wants to do a piece can do it, since people aren't really paying attention anymore. (Like meee!) And to Delta - I love the sexy tongue of Jin. ^_~
18. I got mentioned! Twice! Cool. That made my day. :3 Boo: I blame him for everything wrong in my life. >_> He IMed me one day, and then, all hell broke loose...And yes, our conversations never contain intelligence, because that's just the way it is. If I met Boo and he met me, I'd garuntee that he would stare at me for a moment before stabbing me. Also, Boo was my first fanboy. That's awesomeness. =D
One more thing - I really need to find out if Boo is indeed confused with his gender. >_>
Blayze: There were two RPGs I was in with her, and damn, that was fun. We formed the Three Crazy Musketeers with Wasabi and...ugh. Eggnog, strip-bon, etc. Lots of fun. She just cracked me with her posts, because they'd be so insane and yet relatively thought out. X3 White: To show him I am indeed a girl. Anybody I've ever made a banner for: Because they'd disown me in an instant. XD Anybody I've ganwed: You know who you are. I want to apologize for the trauma and therapy bills I cost. >_> James: 'cause I really want to see if he wears a thong/is Man-Faye. Is that so wrong?
19. I tend to have my "quote-of-the-moment" quotes, as opposed to just one. It's 'cause I like change way too much. My personal favorite for right now comes from my friend Liz...It was the morning study period, and me and my friends were up in the music room, as usual. My other friend Aaron was talking about how he had taken an IQ quiz online, gave up halfway through, and had a really horrible grade. "That's what you get for quitting halfway through, Aaron. You get to be 18 points above a retard." (And I say this with no offense to anybody. He was classified as 18 points above being mentally retarded.) And even though it's "hahaha, funny", I actually got a deep meaning from it when I sat down and thought about it. It's just one of those things where, I can't give up at any point during the journey, no matter how much I want to. I can't slack off or procrastinate. If I do, I'll receive an ending like that, where my true talents are nowhere near justified in the end product, and that therefore tarnishes my reputation. (Reputation? What reputation?) I wish I had a more, uh, fanciful quote, but alas, no. X3
20. Ahhh...working out. It was so easy during the school year, now it's a royal pain during summer... If you know anybody who seriously knows how to lift weights, I would suggest talking to them. I took personal fitness (aka, a gym-within-school class) this previous school year, and I learned so many exercises that involve dumbells. (Of course, I can't remember anything right now. ¬_¬) I dunno how old you are, but there's a bunch of easy stuff you can do. Randomly shoot some hoops, go bikeriding up and down some streets, walk around, etc. If you spread out your exercise like that, it'll probably seem better as opposed to walking on a treadmill, etc. Though, that's just if you have the means to do something like that. Oh, and of course, watch what you eat. You don't have to eliminate everything you love, but try and eat three meals a day with minior snacking in-between. And always eat breakfast! It kickstarts your metabolism. :3 I guess I can suggest vitamins, but that really depends. I started taking an Omega 3 pill around Janurary (go for flax seed, not fish oil...then you won't be burping up fish juice). Omega 3 is good for your cholesterol and stuff, but I noticed something else with it...When I was in personal fitness class and did a heavy lift, I would always be sore the next two days or so. After I started taking the Omega 3, I noticed I wasn't sore on the next day. I also noticed that, if I pulled a back muscle or something, it wouldn't hurt the next day. Blimey! Though that might just be me. No, I don't take drugs. >_> Just go for it. You've already got the first step - actually getting up and doing something. So really, only you can decided what to do now. =3
21.
having no colour really makes you appreciate it more
Amen to that. >>;; Anybody participating in this round - and really, any person who makes graphics - knows just how much of a pain in the buttox this was. Three colors - white, grey, and black - are the only ones you can work with. Yikes. White: Hehe, I can't help but crack up with that quote. xD It's almost like the catchphrase for all participants of this round. I like the leaf brush and how well it ends up blending into the black background. I also like the clean-cut and positioning of the font. There are just two things I'm not too hot about: The brush does seem a little overdone, especially with the bottom white and how it seems to be mutating into jagged paper pieces. It'll give you a nasty papercut. >
22. It's not really like me to pubically whine, but I feel a need to explain something. I've noticed that many people have been citiing me for the "squiggly lines". But what are those? They're not intentional - it's my bloody hair. The piece is a real and true photograph of myself, just Photoshopped. If I was to take away that hair, than the piece would defintly lose something. Not only that, but then I would be bald. >.> >>Picture clicky!
23. Preface: Ezekiel has me pwned. Ramble: This is probably the hardest thing to work with. At first, I thought it was just greyscale, but then I scrutinzed the post and realized - no buddy, it's just three colors. With little to work with, I just kinda whipped out some (not-so) old pictures to mess around with. To my surprise, after having some filter-experimentation-fun, I received a decent result. Pleading Details: Before I even post my piece, I need to explain some nit-picky details. The piece came from a 1280x960 pixel picture, which I worked with for full detail. I saved it as a .psd, yeah? But I realized that after I resized everything and saved it in the .jpg format, some colors appear turn into a very very slight grey. ...And I can see those raising eyebrows. And I really need to prove my point. Ooookay, it's time for links! >>Original - This is the brute-force of the original, all 1280x960 pixels of it, leaving 56k users wallowing in pain. As you can see, it's WHITE. >>Resized - And now, the unfortunate force of resizing has come into play, and some pixels are appearing grey. >>Entry
24.
Nah, I wouldn't dare nitpick on something of that scale. Sure, no prob. You can leave the anti-aliasing feature on. ^_^
That's from sakurasuka's and r2vq's match. Sakura asked the same question. And it's a good thing you asked, since I never really bothered thinking about it. Better safe than sorry. xD
25. Random fact of the day: I've now been behind indifference when voting for these things twice. jigglyness: This is your work, no doubt about it. You have this signature style of being grungy and yet vibrant, gothic but just really cool. Where I like the picture as a concept, there are just some things I'm not too hot with. The stock, when put through all these effects, just seems a little hacked up in the end, making me not think they were "Damaged People". They just remind me of some fantasy RPG, with some random characters sitting on the hill overlooking a city...*ahem* Yeah. And the big guy, standing up...That one just itches me a bit. The texting is cool though. Yeah. Cool text. :3 r2vq: This one is just...um...GLOWY! Yeap. It is cool, and really original, something I would never have thought of (I can't animate either, come to think of it). I know, realize, and fully get the whole concept of the "DS Light" and in the dark and stuff. I oftentimes play Animal Crossing: Wild World at night when I'm supposed to be asleep. The light just illuminates have my bed. Something I don't like is the shape of the (your) head. It seems like it went through the fade effect a little too much, and looks more like a floating head over an actual form. The feet note cracked me up. XD "It illuminates my head, hands, AND feet!" And, like many others, my vote goes off to r2vq/ But good job to both of you.
