I don't care for Evanescence one bit. Amy Lee's voice just bothers me. Hokay. There is no way that Evanesence is goth. At all. It dosn't matter how they look. Or how depressing they think they are. Listen to "Bela Lugosi's Dead" by Bauhaus then compare it to any Evanescence song. Oh, and, not to rock the boat or anything, neither Nightwish nor Lacuna Coil is goth.

Joy Division is one of those must listen to bands. I think they weren't fully recognised because Ian Curtis died in the 80's. Although they're not big on the mainstream, they're huge in the underground goth rock circle.

It's around the Camp Penelton area, right? Hm. The weirdest thing I have ever seen on my way home from school would be a hearse at the carwash. Now, it wasn't a hearse for a funeral home or anything. It was someone's private hearse. It had a bunch of fake bones on the dashboard and a plastic bat hanging from the rearview mirror. I was lucky and I had a disposable camera, so I took a picture of it. I still need to get those pictures developed though... Heh.

It depends on what I'm getting "pumped" for. If it's a punk consert, it'll be stuff like The Dead Kennedys and the Germs. For going to the goth club, it'll be Sex gang children and Christian Death. And strangely enough, Blood Brother's "Pink tarantuala" gives me lots of energy to just run around and do stuff.

Sometimes I'll have "EGL Days" and go in my petticoat and a nice blouse and my parasol and my hair up in little ringlets. I have been asked "are you in a play?" so many times. Earlier in the year, the choral group did the musical "Scrooge" and I got asked if I was in it so many times. Tee hee. I too, do not reccomend hot topic. I have never really bought anything besides band shirts and fishnets from there. (Even their band shirts arent very good. I had a nice bauhaus one with peter murphy[their lead singer] on it in a deep lovely red. I washed it once and it faded to an ugly wishy washey pinkish red colour!) All I've heard about hot topic though is that the clothing are very low quality. I suggest digging around thrift stores and swap meets/flea markets and garage sales. I have gotten so many good things. I got adorable wingtip mary janes from the swap meet along with my petticoat. And then I have all sorts of cute little lacey floofy blouses and such. Second hand is your friend! So is making things from scratch. I have some nice bloomers that I made, I wear them all the time. (Right now, in fact!) EGL is fun.

I rarely use patterns. Actually, I think I've only used a store-bought pattern once or twice. Usually I draft my patterns from directions off the internet. I usually wear them under skirts and sometimes on their own. I like to sleep in them too. I should make another pair. They were pretty easy to make. I finished it about a week before my dad got me a new one. It took a couple of days, but only because of the hand-sewing. With a machine I could have done it in two hours. The bodice was horrible, it had all sorts of sparkley things all over it. Absolutely horrid. So I cut off the skirt and used blanket binding to make a new waistband. Oooo, fun. If I were an action figure/doll thing, I would be called [I]Instantramen14: Deathrock girl.[/I] IR14: DRG would come with a Siouxsie and the Banshees T-shirt and black and white stripe-ey asymetrical skirt and ripped fishnets. She'd have big stompy "steel toe" combat boots and a black leather jacket with pins from various deathrock/gothrock bands(Siouxsie, Rozz Williams, 45 Grave, The Damned, The Cure, Bauhaus...) and studs all over it. She would have red-ish purple hair (like wine coloured) that you could make all big and Robert Smith-esque or, just leave down or in a ponytail. IR14: DRG would have lots of accessories. She'd have an ammo box-purse, and a tiny cd player with a mini copy of Christian Death's "Only Theatre of Pain" She would also have a copy of Bram Stoker's Dracula and a tiny journal. IR14: DRG would have several different accessory sets. 1. The "I'm in a deathrock band" set would have a little faux leather corset, a ripped fishnet shirt and a tattered black skirt. The set would include a microphone and mic stand, a theremin and an electric violin. (Other band-mates and their instruments sold seaperatly) 2. The "Night at the club" set would have a stripey underbust corset, a lace-ey tank top and a taterd skirt of floatey material. It would come with cute witch boots and a mini copy of the Cure's Disintagration. 3. The "Out for a night of fun" set would have a top hat, tail coat, Bauhaus "Bela Lugosi's Dead" shirt, black bondage trousers, black and white check creepers, walking cane, stripey socks and five ring bondage belt with lots of chains. There would be a little video camera for recording the night's happenings/taking pictures at the cemetary. There would also be a little black "vintage" vespa. (Stickers included in set for customizing the scooter) Each set would come with a nice little mix cd of good deathrock and goth rock bands to listen to while you pretend IR14: DRG is playing Sex Gang Children's "Sebastiane" on the violin. I think I have put way too much thought into this. Heh.

Baron: Thank you. ^_^ Revue: The fabric had sparkely things on it already. It was from the Jo-ann's halloween collection thing. The fabric stays down pretty well without trim. It's been a working parasol since october, I love it too dearly to sell. But I might start making them and selling them. They're quite simple to make. It's a regular tote bag (free from payless shoes) covered in duct tape. Lots of duct tape.

I'm not entirely sure that this goes here, but it seems to fit. One of my favorite things to do is sew and fix up old thrift store finds. I love to DIY. I think it can be considered an art. It takes creativity, expecially when you design your own stuff. It takes time and it takes talent/skill. It was a part of an ugly stripe-ey polkadot-ey dress. Very unflattering design. The skirt part was still nice though, so I used it. I mainly listen to punk, deathrock/goth rock. (And some ska. Spanish and english) I also like stuff like The Pixies, Tori Amos, Bjork, Placebo, The B-52's and Bright Eyes. Usually, when I tell people my favorite bands, they look at me confused and say "Who?" Right now, my top 5 favorite bands (in no particular order) 1. Sex Gang Children 2. Rozz era Christian Death 3. Oingo Boingo 4. The Damned 5. The Dead Kennedys. I am also terribly fond of The Virgin Prunes, Joy Division, Bauhaus, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Sisters of Mercy, 45 Grave, The Cure, AFI, Agent Orange, The Dresden Dolls, Catch 22, Echo and the Bunnymen, Clit 45, The Misfits, Narcoleptic Youth... I could go on forever. But chances are, most of you haven't even heard of half the bands I've listed. heh. I like almost anything with guitar/drum/bass. Except for most metal/hardcore. Sure, I'll listen to the occosional Blood Brothers, Atreyu or Avenged Sevenfold song, but that's pretty much all I can take. I can only take so much screaming into the microphone. I guess I have a weird taste in music.
