1. Well I don't use a tablet, but I have friends who do. Wacom boards are quite popular, but expensive. http://www.wacom.com/index2.cfm I use a mouse, much cheaper. Although a tablet would be nice, its not something I can afford. For programs; I use Photoshop CS2.
2. I prefer mechanical pencils over wood, though I could use both, I don't actually own any wood pencils. :p I hate sharpening the stupid things, so mechanical is the way to go. For outlineing I use Sakura art pens. I've gone through so many packs of these. You can get a pack of colored pens, or solid black, or buy each pen individually. One pack is $20, I'm not sure for one single pen. The sizing range from 005, 01, 02, 03, 05, 08. View pack here. For coloring I use Prisma colored pencils. I used to use Crayola, but Prisma blends better. I'll occationally use a few Crayola colored pencils if I can't find the right Prisma one however, since I've got two old boxes of like 32 Crayola colored pencils and some small boxes I've all accumulated over time.
3. I like it up untill the fifth. I think you used the blur tool to blend, which doesn't work with pixel art. It is men't to have a crisp look. So one through three art great(discluding the original image and the blurred one). ^_^
4. Interesting request, here you go. I actually made a larger one, but then I realized it was probebly men't as a banner to use here, so I made a smaller one which is what you see here. If you'd like the large one PM me. ^_^ Happy belated birthday by the way.
5. I know I have a bit of a temper. When I was younger, my brother and I play video games and I always lost against him. Or in Mario Kart I'd always end up in last place. So I'd get really angry and squeez the controller of punch my leg. I'd bite myself also. It was strange. I often made this growling sound when I was angry too, or mainly frustrated I suppose. I get frustrated easily with certain things. When I was in middle school I had so much trouble with my homework and my dad would try to help me but I would just get so frustrated, which made him frustrated, then I got angry. Such a vicious cycle. I do remember when I got angry I would say or things I later regreted. Nothing too serious however. I don't usually get angry around friends, so most of them don't think I can be. I'm not as bad as I used to be. Now if I'm mad you will know it because I stop talking, I get quit, and if you do talk to me I give you short answers.
6. My resolution is huge. XD A) Which aspect of OtakuBoards do you find to be the most negative/confusing? I can't think of anything that I really dislike about the forum. New forum skins would be cool, but thats not really a big deal. B) What is your favourite aspect of OtakuBoards? The art forum, and the friendly staff. Short and sweet. ^_^
7. I have a Mega Tokyo messenger bag. I also know a guy who has the same one. Either gender looks fine with it. I actually prefer a backpack. Messenger bags, as mentioned, do put too much pressure on one shoulder and quickly becomes very irritating even when theres nothing in it. x_x
8. Yes I'd have to agree with sakurasuka and Pache. Those images were drawn very well, however I have doubts that you drew them YohsAnna. You very well may have, but we shall see. Just bare in mind that if these are stolen then that would be very bad for you.
9.
i like not using punctuation because it makes my posts reconizable
Actually it makes you look ignorant, or noobed. :animesigh Anyhoo, I myself have never been to a Rave. They do sound interesting and fun though. I probebly would like it, for I love my techno music. But alas, the lack of a vehicle is always a problem. Techno has such a fun rhythm and beat. I usually find myself tapping my fingers to it and humming, much to my brother's dismay.
10. I've been hearing of this movie for ages(or so it seems). I'm looking forward to it, although I've never played the game. I don't have the correct system for that. Final Fantasy things still intrigue me all the same. I love the artwork, which is the main reason I want to see the movie. My brother showed me a clip of it that his friend had sent him. First clip I've seen of it, since I never bothered to download any myself. Graphic wise it looks excellent.
11. I was a freshmen in high school. I was in my Earth Science class when I heard about it, it was all over the tvs in school, and there's practically a tv in every room so it was hard to miss. My mom took my brother and I out of school that day because she thought we would be scared. I was. It felt strange thinking of all those people, we were all glued to the tv. We stayed home from school the next day. I agree with you aswell James. I do feel it is a big deal even now, since its in my Country. I don't hear about it much anymore of televison anymore anyway, not even yesterday. So I think alot of us have gotten over the shock, except those who lost loved ones and friends.
12. Ah, I will be seeing this tomarrow, if everything goes as planned. I really don't know much about the movie, but it looks interesting. I don't think I've ever seen a Terry Gilliam film, so I have nothing to compare too. :/ I shall edit this post with my thoughts on the film once I've seen it. Edit: I don't really know what to say. That was the strangest movie, I was confused throughout most of it. It wasn't really as good as I had antisipated either.
That horse was the creepiest thing, lol.
It was like a fairy tale, in a corruped kind of way.
13. Ah those were the days. Actually my brother and I began watching that around the same time we'd started watching DBZ, and got into anime. We both miss it dearly. *goes into flash back* I don't remember any specific episodes though. I do remember being really disappointed when it was canceled. :( I liked Bob and the little boy, favorite characters. Ah yes, when cartoons were good. Lol. I have to agree, I miss alot of the older cartoons. Such as Sonic the Hedgehog, as mentioned. ...Mucha Lucha? What the? Now thats crap t.v. for you. ¬_¬ Our children will be corrupted with these hedious new children shows! XD But thats for another discussion. ^_^;
14. I for one liked Brosnan as Bond. He gave a good vibe of English, girl chasing, secret agent. Heh, to be blunt. I'm sad to see him go, but I knew it was going to happen so its no surprise anymore. I like Keanu Reeves, as some of you know, I love the Matrix movies. However, Keanu and Bond just don't fit atall. >.< I read IMDB.com that Daniel Craig is going to take the role as the new Bond, in Bond 21. Though you won't find the title in his fimlography section, you have to search. XD I'm not sure I'd like him as Bond. I saw him in Tomb Raider and didn't care for him much, then again its the only movie I've seen him in. He doesn't give off a secret agent feel though, or someone who sleeps with women at the drop of a hat. I'm not sure who I'd show in place of Pierce though either. Hugh Jackman would be an interesting choice, but I see too much 'super hero' with him after X-men. Someone who isn't very well known in movies would be the best bet in my opinion. Its annoying how movies tend to brand an actor in a certain role, in my mind.
15. I've said this many times before. I preferJapanese manga/anime over American comics/cartoons. To me American comics are dull and predictable. I find them boring for the most part, and I don't like Marvel, DC, artwork. Japanese anime is diffrent. There are more complex stories and characters. Anime is filled with mixed genres, within each series. You go from comedy to serious and back. I value the artwork alot. Some anime I dislike simply because its not my style, regardless of the story. I have to feel it. Of course I do value the story, as long as I like the artwork aswell. I seem to be ranting.
16. My favorite anime characters are ties between Naruto, Spike from Cowboy Bebop, and Vash from Trigun. I love Naruto's sense of humor. His character is so fun and carefree, but he is also very serious and focused when he needs to be. Spike is brave, loud and outspoken, with alot of unrealised comedy. His personality doesn't fit his occupation, though its still a good match. Vash's character is quite and reserved, but has random outbursts of crazy antics. All three are very simlar, yet diffrent. Meh.
17. This is a fun idea. I like the various photo manipulations, and original ideas. ^_^ I do not own this photo. Tweaked it for the right feel. Parameters: Words: My very own paradise Colors: Bright/vibrant colors
18. Oh my... Where have you been?! Anyhoo, you have gotten alot better Sty. Its always a treat to see someone's work after a long absence. The only thing that bothers me is the right shoulder on the top character, aside from that its nicely drawn.
19. I used computers when I was younger in school, first gradeish. You know, those really old Apple's. ^_^; My family didn't end up getting a computer untill I was twelve. Compaq Presario. I think we started out with AOL, but after my dad had long arguments with the company we dropped them. I'm not sure what we ended up with then. I loved searching for DragonBall Z websites, then I learned of chatrooms..The chatroom on the DBZ site was where I loved to go. Then I learned of Forums/Boards. Went to many, most of which are closed now, like Planet Nameke Forums. I came across Otaku.com on accident in Dec. 2000, joined in January '01. I went to the Otaku chatroom alot back then, which is no longer available. I got into graphics and art at about fourteen, but used paint. I got Paintshop Pro when I was about fifteen, then Photoshop at seventeen. We got DSL in 2002. That about sums it up.
20. I forgot you requested an avatar aswell. Here it is. Sorry for the delay.
21. Well this I'm not sure if this is exactly what you want, but its a close match I suppose. I tryed to find the image of the church, with no luck. ¬_¬
22. Don't double post. Anyway, I'll make it. As Always I'll edit this post when its completed. Be patient. Edit: Finished. PM me if you'd like something changed.
23. I'm in the process of making it as we speak. I'll edit this post when it is completed. I haven't done requests in ages. Edit: Alright its done. I dunno, I'm not really happy with it, I just couldn't get what I wanted out of it. If you want something diffrent let me know through PM. Edit: If your not going to use it I'm deleting it.
24. Angels: I like this. The image and color looks great. I love your font choice aswell. I don't think that would look right on a flyer, but as a signature or something it would be nice. Angelic: I don't like this one too much. Though the text really fits the title, I don't like how the images are positioned, and the border is too dark and bold. Industrial: I absolutely love this. The whole image fits together so well, and the colors are awesome. Simple and sweet. Kids with guns: Well I like how you set up the whole image, but the colors under the text kind of give the image a feel of cheeryness, when it should more of horror. The kid has a gun, light blues and oranges don't work well with that. Watch The Way I Navigate: Hehe, I love this one. And that little guy is so cool. *imagines him strutting down the little pixel street* This photo is great quality, and the colors are very appealing. I don't have any disagreements with this. ^_^ Hack Helba (Jester Hat of Moderating Goodness): Well..interesting. Well the image and effects look alright, but the color of Helba kind of erks me. I think it would look better if it were maybe a light purple, to match the brushes. Make Me: I'm not sure what you were going for in this one, therefore I don't understand the title. I do like the abstract look and colors though, and the font positioning, but what exactly does it mean? Twisted Vision: This is excellent. Wonderful photograph, and its very bright and exciting. It looks like fun. ^_^ Font positioning and colors really work well for the image.
25. I'm with Boo on this one. I also like the Splashish image, but the Matrix font doesn't fit atall. The pixel font should be crisper aswell, I think you had the anti-aliagning method at Sharp or something, for pixel fonts it should be at None. I do like the bg in the banner, it reminds me of Inuyasha for some reason, although I don't care for the show. The sword doesn't fit that look though. Maybe take it out and try an abstract look, or just a diffrent image. I don't like Nigh fights atall. I guess its the effects you used, and the grass. Anethesia Touch is good, but the text ruins it. Try something more nature like, because I agree with Gavin about the tropical feel of the image, and a font that lifts that feel even more would be great. Ah Paintshop..^_^ I like this one. The color kind of gives the idea of the various genres of music in colors, the colors of music. So thats a very cool idea. Once more the font doesn't fit however, and I don't know what the square things next to it are suppose to be. XD I don't like the last one, it looks rushed. It doesn't blend together atall, and I'm not too fond of the type choice.
