Failed Experiment no 20. Crossbreeding an Old Man with a Bull Frog to create some sort of Super Bull Frog doesn't work at all. Neither does crossbreeding a ninja and a shark, That just got messy.

They're good; Could you just make them the proper sizes. They're looking fine indeed. Edit: Attaching my new Banner. It's an 8-Bit theatre one as I coul n't get anything to work with the PWNED pictures.

Eh, I love Otakuboards because there is a definite lack of dumbarses here. If it had as many N00bs on here as it does on DGemu.com then I would hate it. However, to be more precise; I love the boards because it is the only Forums I am on more than I do homework. Don't let my post count fool you, It's all fun. I also like it because I can rag on Final Fantasy 7 without getting hate mail or letter bombs.

The banner can be the same thing just this image. Also, if it isn't too much to ask but would you be able to remove the advert on it?

Years Ago The Fire burnt warmly but cast little light into the study of the once great mage. The flickering shadows only hinted at the torrents of tomes and scrolls that filled the many shelves. Slowly Master Cardan walked over to the fire. 'Well my friends, your training is complete. You are not yet heroes as you have much to prove. But first allow me to enlighten you on Morcar.... 'Many centuries ago, Morcar was my apprentice. He worked hard and learned quickly. But he was devoured by impatience and he wished to learn the more powerful magic. I would warn him of the dangers that his impatience would cause and that he should be patient as he was already well on the way to becoming a great Wizard. But Morcar would not wait; Everynight he would stow into my study and read my spell books. The secrets that were held within them were great indeed, Once he learnt these secrets Morcar fled. 'When I caught up with him, I found him greatly changed. He had pledged his allegiance to the vast powers of Darkness. The Fool! He saw magic as a short cut to power and had paid no heed to the terrible price he would have to pay. I tried reasoning with him but he spat in my face and unleashed a powerful spell that I could barely counter. For many days we fought and as we began to weaken, Morcar fled to the Northern Chaos Wastes. There he healed and honed his skills, conjouring ancient powers that would assist in the otherthrow of the Empire. Nut he did not know what he had done. They will serve him while it suits their own dark puposes but in time they would obliterate him. 'The powers that Morcar has called upon will destroy us all if I relax from my campaign against him .Morcars Legions have threatened us once before. Then it was Rogar who aided me and defeated them. Now they march once more; already they are assailing the Borderlands. The Empire must again look for Heroes and to this end I have trained you. 'The path to becoming a hero will be rough one but its rewards are sweet. I shall speak to you again after this war- If you survive...' Now And that was the last I heard of him. My companions had been killed in the battle of Black Fire Pass, the slope that linked the Empire and the Borderlands. The Emperor had raised what might have been the largest army in living memory, Greater even than Rogans host. They drew up their lines on plains and waited. Spine splitting shreiks echoed throug hthe mountain tops, frightening the steeds and filling each and every soldier with dread. Then came the first assault, Pouring down the mountainside, like it was a regular hill instead of a near vertical drop, came the hordes of Morcar. They crashed into our lines but we held, it seemed as if we would be victorius, How soon we thought. We had not reckoned on the might of Morcar, appearing high over the battlefield unleasing his deadly magic. Lightning flashed from his fingertips and pillars of flame exploded among our lines. The screams still echo in my ears, especially that of my close friend who died at my feet. Our lines had been breached in dozens of places at the same time and the Enemy continued to charge. Then came the Doomguard- Morcars elite force of Chaos Knights. Our Legions broke and routed. The only soldiers that didn't flee were the emperors personal guards and many were slain protecting the Emperors retreat. The efforts were for nothing as the Emperor was consumed in an Inferno, leaving the Empire without a leader. My people surrended quickly and Morcar became the conquerer. I fled to the East into Arnhem, a large nation that had not fought in the conflict. Their King surrendered without hesitation.... The next day his head hung on the City gates. I continued to run until I found the Resistance movement, and thats where I found you guys. Character Creation Name: (Anything. Mutes are quite excellent at hearing thank you very much. Okay I'm not one but a friend of mine introduced me to thOtaku.com and I didn't do any communicating there.

Well; there are no animes specifically that I have had a problem with how they ended although there has been the odd Iffy one. A good example of an Iffy ending is with One Peice although it is quite possible that it is so badly dubbed that it felt.... wrong.

Character Name: Fighter McWarrior Character Class: Fighter Affiliation- Light Warriors Weapon- Two Swords. Later on he creates his own weapon "Sword Chucks" which is physically and logicaly improssible as it would slice off the weilders arms. Appearance- Fighter Biography- Fighter is a fighter specializing in swords and master of The Twelve Schools of Vargus-do Zodiac-Style Swordplay. At a young age, he was expelled from Fighter's Camp '86 for failing to correctly answer the question, "How many schools of Zodiac Kenshido are there?" After leaving the camp, he was about to "give up the blade and embrace his true calling in life — short order cook!” before literally running into Black Mage. He suffers from severe Arachnophobia, and has an unhealthy fascination with swords. Extra Notes - There isn't much else that can be described about Fighter since I believe I've chucked down everything about him. *Sword Chucks YO*

OOC: If you cannot tell; This RPG will be based on the webcomic 8 bit theatre which parodises Final Fantasy. So let's get to it. Long ago there were four Light Warriors; well perhaps not since these four were always getting pulled out of the fire. These four are sent on a wild quest to save the world by gathering the four Elemental Orbs of Fire, Earth, Water and Air off of the four guardians; Lich, Kary, Kraken and Bahamut. The only problem is..... None of them can stand one another. OOC: You may want to check Nuklearpower.com to follow the story as it is a bit all over the place. As you can tell I'm letting you use the Dark Warriors as characters as it focuses on them a lot also. If you need anything else on them then check Wikipedia for 8 Bit theatre. Characters: The Light Warriors- Black Mage Evilwizardington- Black Mage is a chaotic, egotistical, power-hungry and murderous wizard who has a pathological hatred towards almost everybody, especially Fighter, who he keeps around to use as a meat shield because he just can't seem to be killed. A wizard proficient in Black Magic, he is generally incapable of any beneficial or non-destructive spells. His most powerful spell in his arsenal is the deadly "Hadoken" which he can only cast once a day. He also has a massive crush on White Mage. See him here Fighter McWarrior- Fighter is a fighter specializing in swords and master of The Twelve Schools of Vargus-do Zodiac-Style Swordplay. At a young age, he was expelled from Fighter's Camp '86 for failing to correctly answer the question, "How many schools of Zodiac Kenshido are there?" After leaving the camp, he was about to "give up the blade and embrace [his] true calling in life ? short order cook!? before literally running into Black Mage. He suffers from severe Arachnophobia, and has an unhealthy fascination with swords. See him here Thief, Clan Khee'Bler- A cunning and diabolically skilled pretty-boy thief and lawyer who was formerly the Prince of Elfland, Thief secretly left his kingdom in order to raise money for a cure for his comatose father; unlike the game, where Elfland's Prince is the one in the coma. He mainly did so by stealing anything and everything around him, pawning it all off and sending the money to his "overseas account". He also maneuvered Fighter into signing a binding contract over the then-forming Light Warriors, making Thief not only a member, but the permanent group leader and entitling him to first dibs on everything the group discovered, especially treasure. See him here Red Mage Statscowski This character believes he is in a paper and pencil RPG (such as D&D) and acts accordingly and fully within the rules of such a reality, often to the continued befuddlement and annoyance of the rest of the team. Red Mage possesses the ability to cast both light and dark magic. He values to fetishism being as versatile as possible, citing versatility as the reason for being a Red Mage in the first place. Unfortunately, he almost never casts his magic in order to stay versatile. Red Mage is the only Light Warrior aside from Fighter to show glimmers of a conscience, notably during Thief and Black Mage's attacks on Dwarf Land. See him here Dark Warriors- Garland- The first villain faced by the Light Warriors, he is not very self-confident and overanxious to please and serve his supposed "enemies". He ended up having to be assisted by Evil Princess Sara, the alter ego of the princess whom he had kidnapped. After his first failed encounter with the Light Warriors (he was nearly beaten to death by Black Belt, which indicates that he is not a skilled fighter), he formed the Dark Warriors and began a propaganda campaign against the Light Warriors. He often expresses his desire to rule with "An iron, yet caring, fist." Garland is continually wrestling with his fear of Forest Imps, who, despite being the weakest creatures in the world, seem to possess 'clever little group tactics' in addition to an alarmingly malicious and cunning nature. See him here Bikke the Pirate Bikke is the hopelessly incompetent and dim-witted pirate captain who attacked Pravoka. A very cheap man, he killed his crew by feeding them nothing but Cheetos until they all succumbed to vitamin C deficiency and then surrendered his poorly maintained ship to the Light Warriors. Bikke is known for his intense body odor and his tendency to use cliched pirate speech, characterized, for example, by interjecting "Yar" in every sentence. He desires to be called "The Claw", despite having two functional hands. See him here Prince Drizz'L, Clan of the Dark Elves A Dark Elf and the son of Astos, both of whom are in the Sahn'ta Clan of Elves. His name translates from Elven roughly into "The Relentless Scourge." Drizz'L is a sword master equal to Fighter who he had fought to a standstill. He also trained and controlled the spiders of the Marsh Cave, including the deadly camel spider. After the Light Warriors mauled him and left him for dead, his swords were stolen by Fighter, who named them Stabby and Slashy and later used them to build Sword-Chucks, which he used in the fight against Kary. Despite continuing to call himself a master of sword fighting, Drizz'L never actually remembers losing these swords to Fighter and ends up embarrassing himself whenever he challenges someone, making him one of the most indispensable members of the Dark Warriors. See him here Vilbert von Vampire- An intentionally pathetic poseur goth and vampire, son of Lich and fourth and final member of the Dark Warriors, he is equal to Red Mage in role-playing intensity, although he prefers LARP, as contrasted to Red Mage's stat-based lifestyle. Like any other vampire, he can be killed with a wooden stake, but apparently a punch in the neck will do too. See him here Other Characters which will be controlled- White Mage- A priestess and member of Project Fate, she is on a mission to help the Light Warriors succeed in saving the world, apparently to accomplish her destiny. There is ongoing tension with Black Mage's lustful attraction to her, resulting in her prompt violent responses (usually by hitting him with a large mallet). White Mage is only capable of casting healing spells, which has compensated for the sheer incompetence of the Light Warriors on multiple occasions. See Her here Black Belt- An extremely skilled martial artist whose sense of orientation is all non-existent. In addition, he is capable of defying the laws of physics by misunderstanding them. At least twice, this has led to warping the fabric of space, once even creating a second version of himself (which was promptly turned to stone by Black Mage). See him here ------------------------------------------------------------- You can also create variations of characters; except their are a few major rules here. 1) Your character must have a VERY generic name 2) They must be amazingly incompotent 3) They must be taking the piss out of the original Final Fantasy somehow. --------Character Sheet----------------------- Character Name: (Must be the same as your class if you're a hero. It can be anything if you're a villian) Character Class: (Final Fantasy Class.) Affiliation- (Good or Evil) Weapon- (Whatever) Appearance- (Description or a pic. Pic must be an 8 Bit character.)
The most goddamned overrated game of all tides and times.. would be Jak II, also known as Jak II - Renegade. I was a youngster and a n00b-player when I awaited this game, and it was not suffocating or satisfying at all. I looked so much forwards to this game because Jak and Daxter 1 would be known as one of the best games of the PS2 to be ever released, IMHO. >_>; and this game had nothing much of magic elements that the first game had! The magic and beautiful story and platforming did become replaced with GTA-styled hoverboard racing mixed with mafia wannabe **** that I didn't love! (sorry for the bad language once again guys!!) and it lacked that much of the elements a true platformer should have. And the level of difficulty was a pile of junk. It wasn't hard at all. I was able to complete it (almost), but the things that made me almost throw the controller into the ground was the fact that it tried to hard to be a mature game, and did not succed! Nearly all platforming games that have tried to be dark after the first light game phaaailes! Like Ratchet: Deadlocked, this game and several others! I am grateful that they have not turned the Sly funny games into such games! So Jak II according to me was overrated to the least, and that along with "Goldeneye" for the Nintendo 64. It was good, but it wasn't that.. exciting and good. Sure the 1st person view was exciting, but I thought it lacked a bit portion of the Bond magic. That's just my honest opinion, and I'm ready to be a whole lot bashed for my "bashing" of "Goldeneye". Also, the Grand Theft Auto was always shown to be amazing. I think it catches the athmosphere of everything that it needs to, and the game system and mission system rocked ***. O_O; but I think that it doesn't deserve 10/10 and such, just 9/10. >_>; another overrated game is Super Mario. >_>; all of the games exept for "Super Mario Bros 1, 2 & 3" are a tad bit overrated. But then again, the other games are fabolous. The Final Fantasy's a tad bit overrated? Not at all. Try to mention one other game that surpasses FF in its great originality! And I'm not the hugest RPG fan on the planet, I usually play such games as Prince of Persia, GUN and other shooter/action games. And God of War is also overrated. But Jak II beats it all. Hands down!! :animesmil
Dude; At least break this into paragraphs, It is a devil to read. Not everything that is there I agree with. Goldeneye was probably the first 3D shooter on console which is a huge plus and was probably the first multiplayer game I ever played. Thing is; The game is almost the base of all the shooters that preceded it. It might be Nostalgia talking but I believe it was the first truly great game to be released on a 32 bit console. I also have to disagree with you on the parts of Jak II and the Final Fantasies. Jak II improved on everything imaginable from the original and with the 'all sequels that go for a darker feel wiill fail' thing is quite wrong; Ratchet & Clank 2 (Not sure if this was Deadlocked) was possibly the finest platformer on the PS2 when it came out. BTW; just how many times did you die in Jak II? The game drops the difficulty curve the more you suck. With the Final Fantasies; You are so wrong.
Try to mention one other game that surpasses FF in its great originality!
That is so very wrong; Plenty of games are incredibly original; The Suikoden Saga Alien Hominid Viewtiful Joe just to name a few. Those games have things in it that have never been touched in an RPG or any game before. The Trinity Sight system is easily the most individual story-telling device in a game ever. I'm just suprised that Square-Enix hasn't tried to steal it yet. oh yes and Sting
Tekken 5 - To be honest.... Soul Calibur 2 is right here with it. I don't know why, but I'm not feeling these two games. In Tekken 5, I liked the idea of adding new styles to the characters.... (outside of Jin.... he sucks now) But there was nothing that blew me away. After getting alot of recommendations.... I was highly disappointed with T5.
May I... have you babies? I haven't met anyone who has said something like that about Tekken 5 except for me.
Dear PeopleWhoAreBetterThanEmoKids, Since you obviously have nothing better to do than criticize people who haven't done a single thing to you, other than "annoy" - I'd like you to take this moment for some introspection. Whether someone likes "real emo," "old school emo," or Fall Out Boy/MCR/The Used, that doesn't make their choice of music any less valid than yours. If someone wants to cut themselves for attention or because they broke up with their significant other, good for them. Hell, if you want to wear girl?s pants, have at it. Grow up and learn to be accepting of people different of yourselves. Your lack of tolerance is disturbing, disgusting and juvenile.
The thing is, is that sometimes you tolerate them for too long. I'd put up with the guy whom I used in my example earlier for two years and was just getting sick of his constant complaining.

I'm very middleground about the sub vs dub issue. You will always get terribly done ones of either (4Kids, I'm looking at you) and I've nearly torn off my eye while listening to a bad one. I've also felt like gouging out my eyes with some terrible subs but that is because Japanese, in particular, doesn't translate into English like English does to other languages.

I blame the wave and my oncoming crash on Tight Pants.

Hmmph; Neo Emo is idiotic and possibly the most pathetic thing on the face of the planet except for maybe fake Metal Heads; Now those guys are pathetic. Problems with Neo-Emos are that the buggers are trying to pass their problems off to other people, even when they barely even know them. I have often finished off the discussions with "Yeah, Life's a *****, Heres a Knife" A classic example of this is when I was at my old school there was this kid in my class who would always ***** about how hard his life is. Thing is, is that everyone nows that he is the most spoilt person in the class. He would just start whining things to his friends about **** which really began to piss me off. He would keep going on about how he was going to cut himself if something didn't go his way. So one day I bought a crap old Pocket Knife to school and when he began whining as usual, do you want to know what I did? I took out the Pocket Knife and slammed it right on his desk and dared him to cut himself if he hated life so much than he should go through with what he threatened to do. He turned a lovely shade of white then
Well, well, well, never seen this before...
Is that sarcasm? I think that's sarcasm.
BUT, there are just as many innovative games out there which just catch less attention. This is less the company's fault than the people who buy the games who aren't giving the innovative games a chance.
You know what? I wholelly agree with you. The more innovative games just don't get attention paid to them because they are not part of a massive franchise. For Example, I gave Viewtiful Joe a chance because it had that classic old school platformer look to it. I'm a big fan of Old School and the game not only felt said-school, it felt like everything in it was thought out carefully.
If you want innovative games, stop complaining and buy or make them. Complianing gets you nowhere. /QUOTE] Believe me; i have been buying innovative games and been attempting an RPG which is ....different to say the least. Shamefully; You can only get so far with RPG Maker 2k3. ..........................
Examples of innovative games: Katamari Damaci Viewtiful Joe Guitar Hero Makai Kingdom Lost In Blue Under The Knife Pheonix Right: Ace Attourney Mario Baseball
I, unfortunatly, have only been able to play Viewtiful Joe out of those listed. Australia is very limited beyond the huge name games.
You forgot the ending that makes the story a complete tragedy. You know, when the recycled games finally flop after people get sick of them, and the game companies die in poverty. Meanwhile, I'm going to be snuggling with my DS and Revolution. :animesmil
Oh yes; The REV looks like it can do anything while the DS is quite impressive, although it has a lack of games which take full advantage of it.

Most Painful thing? Definetly a sporting Injuiry; I was playing Aussie Rules Football on a basketball court and was in 'The Pack' that were getting the ball kicked to them. I went behind the tallest guy there and went up and took an amazing Speccie before going over his shoulder and crashing Head First into the concrete. Funny thing is however that even though I should have broken my neck, I really just concussed myself. That is the most painful thing. As you can tell, rarely do I put my body through the mincer.
-
Everyone knows what the title means; Game Companies are so frightened of having a flop on their hands that they will create a Carbon Copy of an established game without adding anything to it. Even the greatest games have done it such as the ones used as examples below. Tekken 5- The so called Pinnacle of fighting games not only removed any innovation from Tekken 4, They actually took Virtua Fighter 4s Kumite mode and made tiny differences to it and named it Arcade mode. Even down to the Ranking system in it. The GTAs- Every Grand Theft Auto (Besides the First one) has just made a minor change to the previous game in the series, whether it be improved graphics, more guns, more vehicals or a combination of the lot. The only real innovation was the jump from 2D to 3D with 3. Halo 2- Okay, I'll say it here.... I hated Halo 2 although it wasn't nessecarily a bad game. I hated it because it felt very cut and paste with the best parts of established shooting games given a terrible story. It didn't feel innovative in the face of competion like Unreal Tournament and Counterstrike. The Madden series- I know that you can only innovate so much stuff in a sports game but this is ridiculus. The ESPN NFL games had a fresh feel every single year before the NFL lisence was purchased by EA. Could this mean that the Madden series would return better than ever? Oh hell no. Think of this as the biggest sidestep of a move you have ever seen in a videogame. Nothing new besides the QB vision add-on (Which can be turned off which indicates how much faith EA had in it) and the lackluster Superstar mode. Is this innovation? I think not. Its not a huge pile of crap however, A few games have been so unexpectedly unique that you'll have faith in the gaming world again. Just take a look at somethign like Viewtiful Joe 2 and you'll see what I mean. Feel free to argue with or against m; or if need be, ***** about my choices that I listed.

Last Week, at my friends party, my friends and I created a little home-made Horror-Comedy movie which is currently Untitled. Since I didn't know where to put this but OB Anthology seemed like an appropriate place since it is practicully literature so whatever. i'm just going to post Scene 1 for now as it was a devil to write up off the top of my head. The Cast Long Wang- Myself Nerdy Mc'Nerd /Murderer- Johnathon British Guy/ Agent 99- Bryan JKJ/ Blacky Chan- Jason JKJs brother- Rohan Birdy- Antony Mc'Whale - Anthony Stabby Stab Stabb- Murphy Scene 1- The camera starts and is zoomed in on a picture on the wall of a flower pot, The camera zooms out to reveal a Table tennis set with three guys crowding around it while a quick pan reveals various other people JKJ- You wanna serve or do you want me to? Mc'Whale- We'll serve Turns to face British Guy who stands at his left Do you want to serve? British Guy- No, I must focus my Mind Control powers to be able to play without my paddle. Mc'Whale serves it and JKJ returns it, It flys towards British Guy but Mc'Whale hits it back British Guy- I just soiled myself. Nerdy Mc'Nerd walks on screen and joins in the game. JKJ looks at Nerdy then shrugs and restarts the game. He serves it and it flies right past British Guy and bounces off the wall British Guy- That was your shot Play continues, 5 volleys are played and JKJs paddle is about to hit Nerd in the face before the camera pauses, and JKJs paddle is exchanged with a tennis raquet before it is continued. The Tennis Raquet connects with the side of Nerds face before Nerd is sent flying. An Action Replay is shown of it before Nerd lands in a chair Mc'Whale- I think you killed him.
