I was thinking that since we have a Soul Calibur fighter and Prefered Suikoden Party so I was thinking that a Dynasty Warriors character would be a good one. This topic is on who is your prefered character and why? Don't say that the character is hot and that's why. And I want to hear yours. My preferred character is easily a tie between Sun Ce and Zhou Tai. I have chosen both because they have a good amount of speed while also boasting decent amounts of strength. Zhou Tais Mousou is deadly when in a group because of all the wild slashes plus the fact that he can pick up good combos against nearly any foe. His mounted attacks are good because with his non charge attack he just slashes wildly to his left and his charge attack just slashes right across in front of him. Sun Ce is not as good when It comes to combos but he isw fast, dangerously fast and can deal out the damage when used properly. He is a very cool character just because he uses Tonfa.

Yeah, The RPG will not be limited to characters from the games. I don't think I'll have True Runes to be too avaliable. I'd need a PM if someone wanted to use a character like Mc'Dhol or the like. Here is the basic Character Sign up, I'ts not finalized yet but It is just a template for it. Name: Age: Gender: Weapon(s): Rune(s): Physical Description: Personality: History: Other: (anything else you find necessary to insert)

In the beginning, there was "darkness." Then, the "darkness" shed a "tear." From that "tear," the brothers Sword and Shield were born. Shield claimed it could defend against any attack. Sword claimed it could slice through anything. The brothers began a legendary battle. At the end, both Sword and Shield shattered. Sword became the sky, Shield became the earth, and the sparks from the battle became the stars. As for the jewels, they fell to the ground and became the True Runes--The runes that all other runes were born from. . . . There is one man, corrupted by greed, who has the desire all of the twenty-seven True Runes, supports of all that exist. This man was once a hero. He unified a country and installed a goverment of peace, a teocracy. This man's name is Hikusaak. However, peace cannot last forever when you go stray, forgetting the purpose... The high priest, commander of the Holy Kingdom of Harmonia, owner of the Circle Rune, eventually began to use the Kingdom's military supremacy to try and gather all other True Runes. That was his downfall, for while he focused on that quest, insatisfaction steadly grew among the population, mainly among third class citizens. At first, the High Priest ignored the rebellions, letting some of his minor underlings supress it. But the scenario changed drastically with the ascension of a rebel group that nominated themselves as the Returners. The Returners possessed some kind of ower that could easily match that of the army, a power that allowed them to distort the thin time and space and bring forth might warriors from the past. That started a huge civil war on the country. People suffered on the hands of both sides. Death. Unlike it was thought at first, the Returners were not a group that sought only to take Hikusaak and his teocracy down... They sought to completely cleanse humanity of its sins and start everything again from nothingness. But even with the power of those warriors, the Returners had no power to completely overpower the Harmonian army, for some of the people who were brought to the present refused to fight and joined other causes. That created an equilibrium in the war. Each side had its own wins and losses. It seemed that the war could just go on forever, prolonging the suffering of the people. The balance was, however, broken down by the ascension of another rebel group, that sought to end the war and overthrow Hikusaak, implanting a Republic during the process... Destiny is something uncertain. It is of each one responsibility to create his own and help to write down History... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is the story behind an RPG that I and a friend are creating which is based in the Suikoden universe. Before you have a go at me for using Suikoden locations for an unrelated story he is more details. It is set shortly after the Scarlet Moon empire aka Toran Republic is formed. By incident a tear in the timeline occurs and so characters from the games are plucked from history and taken to this time. And thats all there is to it. I need some time to set up a character sign up sheet but feel free to check out the story and comment on it.

Gaming Series jokes (from Tingle to Biggs and Wedge)
PWNED replied to 2010DigitalBoy's topic in Noosphere
Ok, This Topic is a couple of weeks old but I have decided to contribute once more. Biggs and Wedge also appeared in FF1 when If you randomised the names of the theif and another character then you could come up with the name Wedge for the theif and Biggs for the other guy. -
Yes, The technique stat is important because of all the reasons you stated. A character like Clive is one way to take advantage of the technique stat. Not only is he a hard hitting long ranger he can sometimes strike 3 times a turn without a double beat rune. Nanami, the hero and Flik also have decent tech states which is why they are killing machines.

OOC: Jesus Christ, Enough of the sex scenes. Your Raunchiness is really, you know, distracting me. Daergar nodded, It had been a while since he was able to work with someone as team mates and not just as allies. He still had doubts about working alongside each other at a later time. 'Maybe,' Daergar thought 'Just maybe Fate actually bought us three together' Then scoffed in an amused fashion at this, 'Listen to me, I sound like a damn bard.' Then all three began on their trek back to the top when Daergar finally decided to tell them some urgent information. "You do know there are White Dragons in these mountains?" Daergar shouted over the roaring wind and when he saw the face of Hiro whose ears had begun to turn blue and Vice who was beginning to stare around in shock. Daergar turned away so that they could not see his smile and shouted again "So watch out for anything that looks like a lair." Daergar continued smiling even though he knew it was probably true, The spine of the world was infested with White Dragons but they were fulll of warriors and shared a border with Mithral Hall. He was just glad that there were not moards of Storm or Frost giants that lived here, They were too dangerous to fight with so small a group. As the three brached the top of the mountain they looked out over the cloudy horizon and tryed to pinpoint where exactly the Icewind Inn was. As Daergar bought out the map to check a strong wind wrenched it from his hands and blew it away. "Shit,Shit,Shit!" Daergar screamed as he watched their only way of finding where they were float off but as he watched it a sparkle caught his eye further down the mountain. Daergar was uncertain at first but when he saw that it glinted like gold he took off down the side of the mountain to where the glint was.

Hmmm, It appears that you have a thing for ninjas from your party choices in Suikoden 2. I also would have chosen Mc'Dhol but I kind of lost my memory card with the save data from number 1. Anyway here is my preferred party from Suikoden 1 Mc'Dhol- The Soul Eater abslutely rules all with Judgement not to mention he is the main character. He can hit hard and has decent stats later on. Viktor- I seem to have a more power orienterad party in no 1 so Viktor is the choice because I always seem to use him. It's a tie between him and Flik who hits hard, fast and uses strong magic. Crowley- Best magic user in the game, possibly in the series. End of Discussion. Grenseal- Grenseal is an alright fighter but I use him for his unite with Flik and Alen. He doesn't make too bad of a magic user. Alen- Alen hits hard at times but I still mostly use him for his unite. Clive- Hardest hitting Ranged unit anyone? Not to mention he just screams awesome.

Story: It's said that heroes appear in times of crisis. The time: end of the 1st century; the place: China. To answer the call of the times, they have come. Its cries rendering the skies, the Phoenix soars. Shaking the ground beneath its feet, the Tiger roars. Piercing the clouds' veil, the Dragon rises to the heavens. Wherever they go, there rains fire and destruction. And so the age rages on: There is none who can stop it. All know of the three kingdoms; Wei, Wu and Shu but few knew of the fourth knigdom which constantly stayed to the shadows, constantly mopping up the problems of the other three kingdoms. But soon after the battle of Tong Gate, the Shun armies decided that it was the end of having to take care of others people problems and went on the offensive. ( This story is set between the events of the Campaign of Cheng Du and Mt. Ding Jun. The roles are of members of any of the 3 kingdoms. Tje Shun are no pushoovers so I'll just tell you this early.) Character Creation Name: (This is a Chinese or any country around China name.) Age: (This can be any age) Kingdom alliance: Wu, Wei or Shu Weapon type: (This can be a lot of types of weapon its just no weapons from recent times and no guns) Weapon Name: Mousou Attack: Mousou is your special attack Appearence: Biography: Any extra information: Your views on the character creation: You know, if it flexible or poor?

Well, this thread is, as the name suggests, a thread about your preferred party when you don't have to have anyone that has to go in the party (Besides the hero). This thread will cover all avaliable Suikoden games and if you want you can also add a strategy behind the party that you chose. I'll start off by using SUikoden 2 as an example. SUIKODEN 2 Riou (Hero)- Besides the obvious reason that he cannot be removed from the party he should always be in it even if you could remove him. He hits fairly hard for a more spell caster orientated character/ Nanami- Since you usually have to have Nanami in your party there is little reason why she isn't in it. She hits weakly and shouldn't be less than a yard away from magic she can rack up kills quickly. Her greatest asste is her speed so equip her with a Spark rune so that she can help out the slowest party member. Pesmerga- Even though you get him late you will always find uses for him. He comes at least 5 levels above the hero and, despite appearences, only weak spot is speed. Which is where characters like Nanami come in. Georg-Poor dress sense and minimal role in the story but he makes up for that being an awesome character. Shouldn't be anywhere near magic but he is fast for a hard hitter. You get him a whopping seven levels above the hero which is pretty good since you usually get him when you are in your 50's. Mazus- Strong magic user, He is practicully a beefed up version of Luc which you get later on. Flik- There is no blatabtly obvious reson not to use Flik Flik is buff. He?s a very adept short-line attacker-fast, strong, and fairly high skill rating. While his HP are a twinge low, he makes up for it by being a massively great Magician. His lightning rune will stay on him a long time for bosses, and any other magic rune you attach to him will easily make itself worth it. He?s one of the few characters to have two level 4 magic slots at any sane level. For god sakes he a strong magic using swordsman, why wouldn't you use him?

One of my mates showed me theotaku.com back in 2001 and after a while I checked out the forums and decided to join. I lost the username and password of my original account and I didn't go on in a while (A while as In a year and a half) but when I remembered the site I res-signed up again, That new account is this one.

Daergar finally reached his destination about 10 hours after he left Targas, He would have arrived earlier but a bandit had chanced upon his determined path and Daergar, not being the patient one, finished him early so he could meet his once lover and partner in crime. He entered his friends emporium and spoke to the shopkeep there to ask if he could see his friend. The shopkeep pointed to the stairs and accepted the handful of coppers that he had charged for allowing Daergar to see her. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Miliana stared at the piece of parchment that was perched on her desk but the Elven thief turned buisness-woman could not care less for buisness at this time of fear. Chimeras dark shadow reached everywhere on Faerun now or at least just Icewind Dale but before she could contemplate anything she was jarred back to her senses by a loud knocking on the door. "Come in, It better be worth interrupting me," Milana called impatiently although she actually wasn't doing anything. "Is anything more important than me?," A familiar voice called which caused Milana to jump to her feet and wrench open the door to find Daergar standing in front of her, A dirty and bearded Daergar but Daergar none the less. Milana rushed fowards and embraced him tightly and kissed him on his bearded cheek, it had been years since they last saw each other but this was the man she had loved and partnered with. Daergar responded with a bone crushing hug which went on for nearly half a minute before she was forced to remind him that she had to breathe. After a minute of laboured breathing, Milana was finally able to speak. "How are you old friend?" Milana asked raspily, still not having breathed enough. "I am fine my Elvish lover," Daergar lied, having been attacked twice in the same day but continued "I see you're making a living up north" Milana cracked a smile, this was the Daergar that she knew and had loved and happily said "I try. I see you still rob people for a living." Daergar smiled as well, She had been a kidder like she was at the moment but he suddenly turned very grave when he remembered why he had come. "I cannot stay for long," Daergar mentioned, stayed quiet for a moment then added "So I'll cut to the chase. Are you aware about what has been happening?" Milana sighed, she hoped that he could stay for longer so they could share stories about what had happened over the past few years but she still nodded to say that she was aware. Daergar immediatly asked her what she knew but at first she said nothing. But then, just as Daergar turned to leave, she cryed out, " So you have just come here to learn what you wish then leave again?" He stood dumbfolded for a moment then regained his composure but it was too late, Milana had already gotten to him and started to bawl out "Did you not realise that I still loved you when we went our seperate ways? Did you see how heartbroken I was when you left?" Daergar shrugged his shoulders, a common gesture made by the thief and moved towards Milana, pushed her dark hair away from her eyes and kissed her on the cheek. "I'm sorry for what happened," Daergar apologized "And I am sorry about the current circumstances." Milana stopped when she saw how serious he was, maybe Daergar had finally grown up. "I regret this but I am helping out some people to fight off the Chimera so If that goes right then I'll return to you. If you cannot help me then all the people will die," He said sadly, suprising Milana by his sadness. As Daergar turned to leave oncemore, Milana told him to wait then drew up a map which had all the marked locations of known attacks by Chimeras minions. He bade her farewell, picked up the map and left but before he could get to far she ran out after him and kissed him on the lips, hard. The kiss lasted for a minute but Daergar was forced to break it off and leave to rejoin with his temporary companions who were most likely leaving to find him, or hunt him depending on if he had kept to his word.

I agree with Charles,Vegeta Rocker and, I hate to admit it, Baron Samedi. Creating an advice sub-forum will just create a forum which just repeats itself constantly and people may end up causing more damage to Otakuboards by taking half of the threads available in Otaku Lounge will most likely screw up both forums.

As Daergar paced back and forth in his room, he thought about what had happened over the past day and decided that he needed some time to think. He had some old friends that eventually came to Ten Towns that he knew would know something about what was going on but there was the problem called "Icewind Dale" that stood in the way of travel. Daergar made up his mind and started to pack what meager possessions he possessed and exited his room. On his way to the exit of the inn he decided to stop and tell the captian of the ship that he was to leave before dawn so he could return from Lonelywood early. As he walked up to Juras rented room he could swear that he could hear some muffled grunting through the door which could only be what he thought was going on. Daergar knocked quietly on the door which received no anwser so he drew his Rapier and rapped heavily on the door with the hilt which drew a lot of scrambling about and muffled swearing and after a minute Jura opened up her door angrily. "What the hell do you want? It's the middle of the night, you rude bastard" Jura hissed angrily "I need to leave Targos for a while, I have contacts up north" Daergar replied quite happily, thorougly enjoying the opportunity to annoy. Daergar eyes twinkled when he saw who was with her who was with her by the minor heat traces given off which he detected by his minor ability of Infravision which all theives grew to have. "Why do you need to tell me then?" Jura asked angrily which just drew the answer of because. Daergar chuckled in an amused tone and added " My contacts have lived up in Ten Towns for the past five years and longer so they will know something." Jura shook her head a few times in an irritated manner and said "Whatever, we need all of the information we can get, so now can you fuck off?" Daergar replaced his rapier in its scabbard and bowed and began to walk off but before he got to far away he added "don't let me stop your buisness with your apparently friendly assassian," then left the inn heading for the city stables so he could get out of the city and to Lonelywood.

My personal favourite fighter is a three way tie in between Kilick, Talim and Raphael. I do not have too much of a soft spot for really hard hitting chracters or slow attackers because I prefer light but quick hitting characters such as the three I mentioned. Kalik is preferred over Seung mina just barely ecause he hits slightly harder but at no expense of speed. Talim is straight up there for obviously reasons, she hits faster than nearly any other character even though her short range. Her hits can overall deal more damage than a few other characters because she can land at least three hits per one opponents hits. Raphael i have chosen for the same reasons as RiflesAtRecess as well as because he is awesome.

OOC: You do know that in the Forgotten Realms/ Dragon Lance/ Dungeons and Dragons universes that the currency is various types of coins, Platnium being the most expensive. Daergar shadowed the Rogue turned Druid to the Emporium and watched him go about his buying of wares but Daergar didn't care about what Vice bought, just as long as Daergar got his platnium coins back. Granted, Daergar found Vice a little bit Dodgy, even for a rogue what with the robbing the little kid. "You theiving bastard" Daergar whispered to himself, enjoying the fact that someone other than himself had done something despicable. At the same time a Drunken human was thrown out of a tavern just a short way down the street and Daergar, feeling a bit in the mood for something to do walked over to the man and dragged him into the darkness of an alleyway where he pinched the mans nearly empty wallet and quite expensive boots. "Its all about morales," Daergar told himself as he slipped on his new boots," It's alright to pinch from adults, not children." He then quickly dashed away leaving the now poor man where he slept. His arm still burned like the fires of the Mithril Hall but he would be damned before he was found asking a Drow for help. Silently he slipped into the Inn and reserved a room for himself before he sat close to the fire that blazed in the common room, trying to warm the fell chill of the Icewind Dale from his bones.

Jack pointed his pistol at where he heard the voice and waited patiently for a few moments then sure enough, Rayne crawled out of the air vent and jumped down in front of him. She looked terrible, her eyes were starined and her camera lens looked like it had taken a hell of a hit. "Did you get bitten?" Jack asked Gruffly, not really caring who she was just as long as she wouldn't attack. "No I didn't" awnsered Rayne who was also carefully looking up and down this new ally but Jack continued on without waiting for an awnser by asking if she could use a gun. Rayne shook her head after a second of contemplating but Jack, being the rude jackass that he was passed her a pistol from a locker and told her to try to fight. "Now, do you have any idea how to get out? Because unfortunatly, those Zombies will break through the other door and continue to other locations" Jack said then felt included to add "Such as here."

I found the Knights of the Suikoden series to be a bit more Flamboyant then a lot of characters (Except Vincent and that other french guy) but that shortcoming is made up for in their Battle usefullness. Anyway, Now that I have added to that random statement I will say something worthwhile. Suikoden 2 is one of the few RPGs that can hold a candle to Final Fantasy 3(Oh wait, Bugger a candle how about a huge bloody Bonfire) and since FF3 is believed to be the best RPG ever by many RPG players. I find that the best things concerning the Suiko series is the fact that there is so much room for Parties and the fact that characters seemed so lifelike to me. But then again since I love this series then I guess it is up to personal choice.

"Oh great, Another perfect day on the Swords Coast" Daergar yelled out loud to his temporary allies as he drew both his rapier and a dagger from their sheathes and immediatly put them to work. He took out the hamstring of one goblin from underneath it and during that movement threw the dagger into the shin of another one that was leaping onto the ship which bought it falling down face first onto the planks but before Daergar could move to finish it off Vice bought a foot down onto the neck, succesfully snapping it. "Oi, Get your own!" He shouted out to Vice and moved to block a blow from another of the seemingly endless amounts of Goblins. A second goblin jumped into the fray and now Daergar was in trouble. "No matter how poor a Goblin fights you cannot let them gang up on you" Daergar told himself silently as he spun his rapier in a small circle to deflect one blow, It was Just enough to stop a second goblin sword from diving to deep into his right shoulder. Daergar pulled backwards in pain then weakly thrusted into the chest of one goblin and the other, beleiving that it had won, whooped loudly and fell for Daergars feint. The Goblin missed on its frenzied swing and was knocked off of its feet by a quick leg sweep from Daergar which was followed up with a stab with the rapier to the throat which finished it off. Daergar wrapped his free hand over the wound which stained his Grey Undershirt crimson and turned to face another Goblin and gripped his rapier tightly, If he went down then he would go down fighting.
This is for all you people that like Buffy's musical episode. Both Spike and Giles have Cds out. These Cds have nothing to do with Buffy but it was Giles and Spike that wanted to be a singer before Buffy the Vampire Slayer. They both final got there chances.
Yep I can confirm that, James Marsters is the frontband on a Pub band (When I say Pub Band I mean bands that sound like they originally played in a pub) and Anthony Stewart Head used to originally be the vocalist and guitarist in a band. I am actually a big fan of Buffy the vampire Slayer although It is because of the minor chracters that I like it because I mean, Who else prefers Spike and Xander over any other character from the series?

Jacks revolver clicked a few times before anything happened, He only had a few rounds left before he had to reload and there were a whole hallway of zombies between his hiding place and the weapons storage room. He scanned the room for any likely escape points but decided not to go for the window because of the two story drop even though he could take the jump onto a tree outside but he couldn't jump that far with all of his Body Armour so he decided to go for the next best exit, an incredibly narrow Air duct which connected to the storage room. "Better than nothing" Jack told himself even though it looked Like it was incredibly tight, "Bloody Hell" He swore quietly as he stripped off the Body armour then climbed into the vent. He was correct on the tightness and after much muffled swearing and squeaking he finally crawled out into the storage room. Taking in his new surroundings he grabbed a good old Chromed Shotgun and filled his pockets with ammunition for it and his revolver. He was bought back to his senses when he heard a sound of ragged breathing and since Zombies had no need for breathing it had to be a Human. Nevertheless he bought his gun up to where he beleived the breathing was coming from and demanded to know who it was.

Daergar stayed close to the rail when he got on the boat or to be more exact perching dangerous half on the ship and the other in mid air. His spraying over the edge made everyone decide to think of him as some lousy drunkard even though he thought that it was still a couple of days left and he was spending his earnings from a previous robbery. Anyway he just barely pulled through on that gig because of an incredibly short tempered mage which didn't take kindly for Daergars break in. He bought himself back to reality quite disgustingly by unloading another wave of vomit over the edge into the water. "I'm dying aren't I?" He said to no one in particular and even though he knew it was justa hangover it was still one which would have bought an Ogre down to his knees. His question was awnsered by a concerned glance from one of the rogues and nothing else occured. Daergar groaned andreachedinto his pack for one of his few potions of Aid so that he could at least not drive everyone away. Hehated imself for doing this becausethese potions were gifts/prizes that he had earned from the theives guild of Luskan but emergencys called for one to do unnatural things. Daergar glanced at the captian and nodded his approval then turned and joined the others although he pinched a couple of coins from the closest sailor just for the hell of it.
I heard that Billie Piper was staying on for the next series, but I may very well have information from the same sources as Blackjack, which could be wrong.
