Currently playing Xenoblade Chronicles. Never had a Wii when it first came out and then it became ludicrously over priced. Then my buddy said he had it and my parents gave me their Wii they weren't using and, well, bam! It's a really amazing game, and if you can get your hands on it then I highly suggest playing it. Great battle system, expansive world, tons of content, and an awesome story. One of the best RPGs I've played in a very long time.

This is, hands down, the best Devil May Cry game yet. The combat is far more stylish and crazy than any of the other Devil May Cry games put together and in the context of the story and universe, the style of the game world itself is incredible. A really good idea, if I say so myself. The music is also incredible and get's you pumped up while you're slaying waves and waves of hellish badguys. Trust me when I say that Ninja Theory did not alienate the DMC fanbase. They brought it into a new generation and really showed that the series could evolve. There is so many references to the older games that it will make hardcore Devil May Cry fanboys and fangirls just melt. Especially when it comes to Dante's hair. I assure you. You cannot sleep on this iteration of Devil May Cry based solely on hearsay or preconceptions. You will not come away disappointed.

E3 has the unfortunate problem of landing on the dates that the World Cup is on so I haven't caught much of the conferences. I only really saw EA's which had some slick things to be shown. The new Dead Space looks great and Medal of Honor is looking like that's where it's going to be where it's at in terms of FPS this year. As well, the new Need For Speed: Most Wanted made by Criterion, the Burnout guys, is shaping up to be great. Can't wait.

You know, sometimes I go on these particular binges where I have to play a certain kind of game, or a game in a particular setting. Take this week for example; I'm playing games that have to do with space! Such games like Homeworld 2, the greatest space RTS or Freelancer, the space flight sim with the best controls or even Infinite Space, a strategy RPG game for the DS! The best thing about these moods is that I have no idea what will be next. RPG fling, maybe? Dungeons and Dragons style fantasy setting? Who knows! It's all mixed up and it's crazy!

I haven't been on here very often in the past year, or even two. I've decided I'm going to rectify that. First; Here is me. Lil' bit o' me and wearing a Cobra Skulls bandanna. Rec'nize! -
Once in a while a game comes along and just sweeps everything else under the rug. It's the best in it's genre, or as a whole. A masterpiece among masterpieces. Mass Effect 2 is not it. Mass Effect had the distinction of being something you've played before, but had never played before. It was a healthy balance of things that worked well, and things that did not work well but in general the game was an incredible work of media. Mass Effect 2 cuts corners here, takes liberties there. To me it feels like half of what the original Mass Effect was. Granted, that's not to say it's a bad game. It's absolutely not a bad game by any stretch of the imagination. In fact it's a GREAT game that picks up where the original left off and ends leaving you salivating for more. While combat has gotten a pseudo over-haul, the rest of the game seems to be lacking and it kinda feels a bit linear. A larger focus is on the overall story, and shooting things in the face rather than exploring and fleshing out the universe. A shame. I still loved it but those are my main gripes.

Borderlands If you're not playing this loot filled, hilarious role-playing shooter then you're not living. It's amazing. Grab some friends, grab some guns, and go to town. The story is uninspired, sure, but when you have dancing robots, foul-mouthed hicks, and loads of gore and explosions how can you pass it up?

I was listening to Pandora on my iPhone at my job, GameStop, a couple days ago. (See all that product placement?) While I was listening to Pandora, specifically the Meshuggah channel I created and band came on the air. This band was called Gojira, maybe you've heard of them. Gojira is rad. Let me show you. Progressive, to say the least. Heavy in some aspects. Worldly, as well. Also, Byzantine

World of Warcraft. Me and this game love to hate each other. Off and on, I've been playing it since the launch of Burning Crusade. So, about two years. I don't have any level 80s, and I'm still oblivious to many things, and as well I'm constantly asking questions. Either way, it's fun. I'm not feeling like quitting. Yet. Anyway. If you play on Baelgun, look me up. My character is Magicmissle.

Currently listening to Cobra Skulls new album 'American Rubicon'. If you don't know who Cobra Skulls are, you're missing out. They're a punk band from Reno, Nevada and they are awesome. All kinds of politically charged songs, and even some about nearly-underage sex. Stuff all you hipsters enjoy. Went to their concert last night and they tore the place down.
A sardonic reply--one I would hope is meant only to be satire.
Sorry Charlie. Granted, this does beg the question that regardless of using a cell phone and despite how many members here are, basically, saying; 'Ooooohhhh my god, like, texting on the cell phone and calling people while driving is SOOOOOOOO idiotic!' how many of them eat, drink, mess with their radio stations, or do other things while driving. It's not just cell phones that can take your attention away. What's that in my teeth? Does my hair look okay? Man, I really want to take a bite out of this cheese burger. Uh oh, I dropped something. I lost my way. Let me just remap my coordinates on the GPS. Basically, like a cell phone, these things can be done at a stop but rarely are. Let's face it. Most people, maybe not you upstart citizens, take driving for granted and/or are in a hurry and/or, like me, just plain don't care.

Yep. I call and text and mess around on my phone when I drive. Who cares? If I get into a wreck, I get into a wreck. I'll deal with it when it happens but so far I've stayed on the road and paid enough attention.

Ragnar The Merciful Long ago, across the country side, Ragnar The Merciless sowed destruction and havoc in his wake. Today is a different time and Ragnar is a different man. He tells his grand daughter a bedtime story before retiring to his own rocking chair, and with a gentle sigh Ragnar closes his eyes and begins falling asleep.

My lords and ladies! I don't know about you but when BioWare makes a game, I pay attention. When BioWare creates a new IP, I get excited. When BioWare makes a mature fantasy-themed RPG in the vein of Baldur's Gate, I flip out. Harking back to it's roots BioWare is releasing Dragon Age: Origins on October 20th across the three main platforms. PC, Trip60, and PTrip. Like I said before, it's a mature fantasy themed RPG. From what I can tell from the videos and dev diaries it's got elements from many past BioWare games. The combat, but with updated mechanics, of classic BioWare RPGs, the dialogue and dynamic character development of Mass Effect. It's certainly brutal. Lot's of blood, sex, killing. More killing. Probably betrayal. Toss some deceit in there while you're at it. Not to mention it looks to be dealing with racism of sorts with elves and dwarves being a, sort of, second class citizen. Basically, you pick a race and then an 'Origin' story. Noble, commoner, things like that. It essentially sets up the world for you to begin with and you go from there, making decisions with possible ramifications. Did I mention it's a very mature game? Either way, has anyone been keeping an eye on this gem?
Wow, Joe.... really? Hahahaha.
You tell me if you met the biggest inspiration in your life if it wouldn't, at least, be one of the greatest days of your life.

Went and saw Maylene & the Sons of Disaster in concert on friday in Omaha, Nebraska, and they killed it. KILLED IT. Met Dallas Taylor, the lead singer and my inspiration for singing. I was giddy as a girl and as I turned to leave I stopped, spun around and said; 'Hey, Dallas?' He looked up and said; 'Yeah?' I responded; 'This is the greatest day of my life.' He laughed. More Maylene. Enjoy.

Got bored of Nocturne pretty quickly. Not because it was hard or anything, though it wasn't easy but because I had played it before. They called it Persona 3... and Digital Devil Saga. I know those games came out after Nocturne but I had played them first so it was already old and tired. On a whim I grabbed Grandia 3 and I'll have to admit it's the most fun I've had with an RPG in a while. Since Rogue Galaxy. It's light-hearted without being foolish, the battle system is fast paced and you can cancel your opponents moves before they make them if you strike quickly enough. It's enjoyable.

If we're talking straight old stuff; Gundam for sure. Been around since '79. Rec'nize. But since, I'd go with a hearty rough estimate and say, a good 60% of our active user base probably started watching anime in the early 2000s, late ninties anyway. I mean, let's be honest, it wasn't really popular here in America until then anyway. For me? Those Who Hunt Elves. Off the wall crazy and silly but at the same time, it was pretty stellar. Japanese people from modern times getting sent to another universe in medieval times and to get back they have to strip elves and get fragments of a spell. What's not to love? Granted it wasn't localized here until, I'd say, 2001? Something like that. Either way, it debuted in '96 in Japan.

My girlfriend is pretty talented with a camera,so when the opportunity arose where she could snap some pictures of me, I said 'Okay.' Not a huge fan being on the receiving end of the camera but I thought the whole shoot turned out pretty good. See for yourself. There's more but 5 is max. Enjoy. -
Maylene & the Sons of Disaster's new album 'III' NO ONE, and I mean NO ONE does it better than Maylene in my book. Since debuting back in '05 they have become what 'southern metal' truly means. Without a doubt Maylene & the Sons of Disaster is, unequivocally, my favorite band. Either way, without further ado I give you Maylene. Enjoy.
