Well, seeing as how the majority of people Microsoft fans or otherwise have already played Oblivion to death, I don't think another Guild is going to recruit more people to the $600 system. Besides, thats nothing Bethesda can't throw on the Marketplace for all us 360 owners. I'm not worried that everyone will exclaim; 'The PS3 version is best!' because incrementally better graphics can't justify replaying the game because, like I said, EVERYONE has played Oblivion already.

How did you come up with your internet/screen name ?
silpheedpilot replied to corpseman's topic in General Discussion
Well. Lemme just run through all my names on the OB and give a brief but good explanation. SilpheedPilot - This was my original OB name, also my original online moniker. Silpheed being my favorite shooter of all time and a Silpheed being the variable attack ship that requires a pilot, put two and two together and there you have it. Silpheed - After much deliberation and everyone just shortening SilpheedPilot to Silpheed I decided it would be best to drop the pilot. To this day, despite my other names here on the OB, Silpheed and all its variations remains my mainstay internet moniker. That and Riot and all it's variations. Zabuza - Named after the giant sword swinging character from Naruto. Not much to be said, other than he's my favorite character and all that. Parabola - Named after the Tool song. Possibly my favorite Tool song of all time, so I decided that it was gonna be my name. AC!D!C - Acidic. One part MG: AC!D one part !C. I really liked the way Konami reversed the Is' so I decided to make a play on acid by doing the little I thing. Liked it for a while. di.fm - This is probably my main name to stay on the OB. Named after the digitally imported music site that streams live updates of radio broadcasted techno/electronic/big beat/ DNB/ so on so forth. -

[/size']
Well. You're right; Final Fantasy VII is quite the classic but it is also quite the talked about classic with alot of new reittereations, so I hearby revoke it's di.fm Classic Certification. Sorry. But in all seriousness, yes, Final Fantasy VII is one helluva classic. Story was great, battle system was great, memorable characters and of course, like I said, many spin-offs. Lets hope it gets a face-lift and do-over on the PS3.

We have a back history? Oh, right. The whole not agreeing and all that stuff thats in the past and shouldn't be brought up because it's embarrasing to me....ANYWAY. I decided to dig up a few more classics. Namely: Syphon Filter, Omega Boost, and Vampire Hunter D all for the PSOne Syphon Filter - I still stand by my statement when I say that this game changed all 3rd person action shooters to come. At the time it was innovative with being able to climb a mulitude of stuff, your stance affecting your accuracy, and a load of weapons. Plus Gabe Logan had style to throw around. I always said he could kick Snakes butt...Until MGS2. Ahem. We'll save the character battles for another thread. Omega Boost - Space rail-shooter in a mech to a soundtrack by Static-X and Loudmouth..Whats NOT to love? The game looked great for its time back on the PSOne and it was fairly difficult with slick bosses, great stage designs and one of the coolest mechs ever created. The plot was kinda weak, but then again what shooter story was good? Vampire Hunter D - Think of Resident Evil but you could jump, swing an obnoxiously long sword around and you played as pseudo-future hero D. Seriously, It was like Resident Evil. Big mansion (er..castle), crazy enemies, tank controls, and different items and keys to find to get to the next part of the mansion (er..castle). Though it did do it's own thing with D's right hand that could suck up souls, and you could use magic, oh, and did I mention you could jump? Yeah, that was the best part. The graphics for its time were about on par with Resident Evil 2, so if you liked its looks with the 3-D characters and pre-rendered backgound then you know what to expect. Anyway, I'll probably dig through my stash of old games in the following days and show everyone what I have. Um, 3 at a time. Thats my limit. Charlie says so.
Okay, seeing as how you created a thread exactly[/I'] like mine (I even just talked about DOOM recently), I'm just going to merge the two and change the title. Poof, there you have it.
Why thank you, Charlie. You don't mind if I call you Charlie, do you? Apparently I didn't even think to look before posting. By the way my gamertag is A Merc For Hire. Let us play DOOM and cut the forces of Hell down to size!

Let me kick this pig off by saying that I'm not, by any means, old. I'm 18 years old, but I have a grasp on what 'classic games' are. They don't have to be Pong, or Donkey Kong to be classic, and you don't have to be over 35 to know what it was like 'back in the day' because let me tell you.. I was around 'back in the day'. Yeah, we call it the early ninties. The age of SNES and Sega Genesis! Anyway, I wanna start this by showing off some of what I think are classic games and then you all feel free to share your own little archives and why they are classic in a general sense or classic to you. 1. DOOM - It was gory, it was violent and kids ate it up! You, a lone Space Marine, find yourself stranded on Phobos with only your trusty pistola at your side. You're mean, you're pissed, and Hell just arrived to make your day worse than it already is. I mean Doom was Goldeneye before Goldeneye was even Goldeneye. At the time it was the most played multi-player game around. The weapons were cool, the monsters were cool, everything about Doom did and still screams COOL! 2. Goldeneye - Ironic, huh? How many hours did you all log in on this game back in '97 - '98? I know I logged in more hours on Goldeneye than a flight student training to be an astronaut. Loved it. Lots of weapons, only one level worth playing (Library) but thats alright. Lots of chracters to choose from (Oddjob, anyone?), and a bevy of modes. The only game that surpassed it on the 64 was Perfect Dark but I revoked it's classic status after Zero. 3. Earthbound - This is by far my favorite RPG. It stars Ness as the young protagonist saving the world against unknown forces. (Gimme a break..Its been a while.) The coolest thing about the game was that the story revolved around current times. Using baseball bats, yo-yos and other common found items as weapons and then gaining psychic powers. The game was crazy difficult but really fun. Funny how Nintendo ruled the RPG realm until Sony came along. Hm. Anyway, those are just a few games I dug up from my archives of great classics. They're not THAT old, but they do have some good years on them. Go ahead and share with the rest of us what you have in your archives. Maybe even some rare gems that people haven't heard of because I know mine are common. Hell, Doom is on Xbox Live arcade. No pun intended.

ComCheck eCash. Curtesy of GameStop Inc. Every two weeks, after dredging through telling folks how much better the WiiSixty combo is over the PSWii (Or just the 360 to all you Nintendo morons) my money is deposited into my bank account, but the only way I can withdraw it is with this neat little green plastic thingie...Other wise known as a debit card. Ah yes, the wonders of plastic. Problem is that whenever I wanna withdraw it takes, oh lets go with, $1.50 - $2.00 thus forcing me to return to the more archaic method of buying and selling; cash. OH! Right. You wanted to know what my job was, not HOW I get paid. Excuse me, the title was mid-leading. [Don't confuse my witty sarcasm with not reading the opening post.] I work for GameStop Inc. Or rather the sister store EB Games. I sell videogames to a casual populus stopping frequently to tell people the truth about the new consoles and that we ARE NOT currently taking pre-orders on the Wiieiner or the PSnotsoamazing3. I keep the store tidy by keeping the games on the shelf in alphabetical order and I make sure people are constantly helped. It isn't much, but it is REALLY easy.

Intriuging, most intriuging. (A year or so now and he STILL does it?) Assuming something coming in the mail from being bought off the net is considered 'just bought' then the last thing is R-Type Final. First off, those who know me well and even those who don't know I have a pinchant for shooters. Second to that would be FPS, then fighting games and following that would be racing games. Anyhow, R-Type Final takes the cake as one of my favorite shooters of all time because a.) Its cooler than your game. b.) There are over 100 ships to unlock, and yes, fly. 3.) The level design is great and it varies depending on what you do in the previous stage. Stop an over flowing river? The next time you play the stage will be dry. Don't blow up the jets on the big flying battleship that wants to kick yours and all of humanities ***? Yeah, count on it to be there the next time. The visuals are great. No chugs in the framerate when things get hairy, no graphical hitches, everything looks fresh. The sound is what you would expect from your garden variety shooter; *zip* *twang* *pacheew* and so on so forth. The charm in the game however is that it's R-Type. If you know your shooters than you know that R-Type is one of the most successful shooters ever. Next to Gradius. Anyway, I bought it off the net because, like an idiot, I sold a great game before it's time and I wanted it back.

In my hands I hold the newest Game Informer (Great magazine) and the cover article is none other than Devil May Cry 4. Now I'm not gonna jump out on a limb and tell everyone that I live and breath or even love the DMC franchise because my loyalty lies elsewhere, but I will drop some info about the game straight from the article. "Though their combat ablilties may differ, it doesn't take a particularly keen eye to notice that Nero and Dante have strikingly similar appearances. Same white hair. Same long coat. Same big sword. Even so, Kobayashi insists that unlike Dante and Vergil's connection, there is no story-based reason why Nero bears a resembalance to the sons of Sparda. Instead, Nero's look is about finding a design that is different yet familiar: 'Devil May Cry is about guns and swords, and we want people to be able to see that and understand that,' he tells us." So that clears up all the confusion with Nero being a bro and all. "...Since Nero isn't one of Sparda's progeny, he probably won't be able to undergo a full transformation [Devil Trigger style] but that doesn't mean he mechanic will vanish entirely from DMC 4. Unfortunately, this is one of the game's aspect that is still undergoing development, and Kobayashi could only tease us with a clue as to where it's going: 'The key word in devil trigger is 'devil', but that's something - as far as its relation to Nero - we're not ready to explore yet." Even more conclusion that Nero is NOT the brother of Vergil and Dante, but it would be a sad day in DMC history if we saw the devil trigger go away. "The exact role Dante plays in the story is still a mystery. At first he serves as the primary antagonist that Nero chases across Fortuna. But it seems unlikely that Dante would be positioned as the ultimate evil of the adventure, which means that he and Nero will probably team up after they clear up a few mis-understandings. No one at Capcom is confirming or denying that Dante will become a playable character at this point, but we think that the screenshots on these pages [A screen of Dante suspended in air firing Ebony and Ivory] that prominetly feature Dante speak for themselves. Assuming that players will eventually control Dante in some capacity, its still isn't clear whether he will use a style system, if he'll have his devil trigger, or what other abilities from previous games he will retain." And there is some info on the D masta. Hopefully those passages cleared some stuff up. It looks pretty sweet, and I'm hoping it lives up to the hype because we all know 2 didn't and then 3 had to come in a pick it up. So, with all the changes lets hope 4 isn't another 2.

Now, of course, the Wii will never replace my 360. The games that are coming out for the 360 I just can't live without, which are also games that aren't coming out on the Wii such as Gears Of War, Just Cause, and yes, Halo 3. What I'm getting the Wii for is the innovation. I want to see how the crazy Wiimote will work with most games, especially games like Metroid, and Red Steel and the console is only $250? I can pull that out of my butt. So in the event that it blows harder than Hurricane Katrina I won't feel like I wasted money, only chump change.

1. Array - Technical Itch 2. Song About My Bike - Sileni 3. R Factor - Q Project 4. Don't Wanna Be Alone - Klute 5. Frozen Solid - Sub Focus 6. Hello Lover ( DJ Trace's Rollin' Mix) - Fallen Angels 7. General Hospital - Syncopix 8. Jasmine Nights - OB1 9. Sanctuary - Omni Trio 10. Solaris - Chris.SU 11. Final Fantasy - Future Prophecies 12. All In My Mind - Kevin 13. Long Island - Tommie 14. Panorama - Heaven and Sky 15. Blind Straight - Store N Foward Now the difference between my list of songs and everyone elses list of songs is that I doubt most know who any of these artists are, but thats the way I like it. I listen to alot of techno/electronica/electric music and thats what all 15 of those songs up there are. A good portion of them are Drum 'N Bass, and a few are Trance.
-
At first I wasn't going to get a Wii for the sheer fact that it's almost only like a souped up GC, but when they spilled the price I decided that such a cheap console can't be too bad. $250? Thats nothing. Plus, The new Zelda will be a launch title, so that makes me happy. The more I see on Red Steel the more excited I get about that game, and the new Mario looks quite amazing even if we gotta wait for it. Either way, I'm getting a Wii well before the PS3 so I'll have the WiiSixty combo instead of the PSSixty combo.
-
Considering I listen to more techno in a week than most of you listen to music in a year I stick with di.fm. I did check out Pandora and its quite a little site, and the music recommendations aren't too bad either.

Intriguing, most intriguing. (I can't believe he still does that.) Because I'm gamer to the core I find myself playing many types of games. RPGs, RTS, FPS, uh...ACTion. However, I find myself the most interested in fighting games. Yes, most interested indeed. I find that fighting games hold the most competition, and when you're really good you have more bragging rights because, lets face it, it's much cooler saying; 'I can kill you in one hit on Guilty Gear X2' than it is to say; 'I can kill you in one hit on Halo 2.' Fighting games appeal more to me because they're a bit more stylistic, and take longer to master. Once you master a single character you can move on to mastering another, and lets not forget the range of fighting games styles! From the technical view of Samurai Showdown to the out-right zany mindset of Guilty Gear there is something for everyone. Now if you were to ask me if I like 2-D or 3-D fighting games more, I'd have to go with 2-D because I grew up playing SNK fighting games, NOT Capcom. (Street Fighter. Puh!) The reason I like 2-D over 3-D is that it tends to focus on less realistic settings and styles and goes for sheer fun, plus the cross-overs are easier in 2-D fighting games. Capcom vs. SNK 2, anyone?

In the spirit of the one, and great Xbox 360 I thought I might add to the list of games that NEED talking about; such as Just Cause. 'Oh wow! di.fm, you're bringing us another free-roaming GTA style game?!' Yes sir, I am! I'm about as giddy for this game as the whole world is for The Best Game Ever Made. Er... Gears of War... Anyway, I've been playing through the Demo over and over and over and over and...you get the picture, and I must say that while it does take some liberties with the free-roaming sand-box style GTA (more like Mercenaries) formula the changes are welcome, such as the ability to drive a car really fast, jump out on to the hood and then pull your parachute rip cord and take off into the wind to glide around and do you own little thing. With a simple tap of a button your main character, Rico, releases the parachute and begins a freefall. Press the button once more and he releases his chute once more. Unrealistic, yes but very fun and innovative. The game also has good gunplay, and the environment is AMAZING looking. From the sparse cities to the jungles and rolling hills the place looks truly alive. There is a demo out there on Live so if you guys haven't checked this game out...Do so. ~ di.fm

Love it or hate it, the GTA formula is here to stay and Volitions concotion; Saints Row is one of the better showcases of this type of sand-box gameplay. The single player is still in the vein of gangsta themed free-roamers but it does it all pretty nicely with great graphics, awesome gameplay mechanics, solid story line, and smooth voice overs. The multi-player is where this game truly shines though, sans for all the lag issues still being worked out right now, with AMAZING gametypes, great level designs, and a good selection of weapons. The point of the multi-player is to win, or lose and get money in which you use to make your character stand out from the pack with different clothes, piercings and such. Your gametypes are your normal deathmatch types and then they throw in crazier game types like; 'Protect Tha Pimp' where one team has a Pimp that your team has to protect and get to the end of the level and the other team are a bunch of hitmen trying to kill the pimp. Great fun, lots of action. Another gametype is 'Pimp Da Ride' where everyone scrambles to get cash by killing people, or picking up a piece of 'bling' and then taking it back to a drop off point to get cash to upgrade your 'Ride' at certain intervals. The first to get the car to level 4 and take it to the show room, and then protect it for a minute wins. I'd suggest picking this game up if you like third person shooters, or if you like GTA. Its great fun, and I'm sure it won't fail you. ~ di.fm P.S. If anyone has Live and wants to play, my GT is: A Merc For Hire

Name: Joseph Allington; AKA: Hyde Gender: Male Age: 356, with the appearance of a early twenties human. Race: Vampire Alliance: Blood Brood Physical Description: Hyde. Baring his chest with pride he only covers his legs and his feet. His legs are covered by grey Dickies pants that he boosted off of some chump on the street, and his feet are nestled safely in the confines of sturdy black boots. His physique is other-worldly. He has an inhuman muscle mass, which defies nature. The serum has caused his body to mutate beyond normal conventions, and into something different. Weapons: In his former 'life' he was deft at using various firearms such as sniper rifles, assault rifles, pistols; but since turning into what he is now he prefers the thrill of tearing his enemy to pieces with his hands by using his immense strength. Body armor or not, he will rip your arm off. Abilities: Aside from normally boosted Vampire attributes, he gains the prowess from the serum pushing his speed, strength and agility far beyond that of an expertly-trained and battle-hardened Vampire. However, his thirst for blood is boosted also. Personality: Before the 'turn' he was reserved, lonesome, meek. Took everything in stride and pent up all of his anger and rather than beating a opposing Vampire to death and showing his entrails for all to see, he walked off, moping in sorrow. When he was captured and subjected to the experiments his pent up rage released and the serum drove him insane. Psychotic. Killing anything that moves, living or otherwise and that new personality doesn't, or isn't, slowing down any time soon. Biography: Hyde, or in his previous life, Joseph Allington, was a reserved but efficient killing machine for the AVC; a Black-Ops killing machine to be exact, that wiith his team of 6 other Vampires who would be called in to clear out and eliminate entrenched Brotherhood forces holing up in a building or to go in and extract captures Vampire brethren. And he was good at what he did; followed all orders to his fullest. He lived his life day to day with a certain love interest by the name of Amelia Bernadette. The two were inseperable and worked with eachother for many many years and bonded even further when the AVC tried to get them apart for good, and failed. When Amelia was promoted to a commander of operations, and out of the field for good, Joseph had a bad feeling in his gut for his next, and final mission. Which would end up being his un-doing. However, maybe we should begin from the top. 'Alright, Allington. You're going around the North East portion of the building with Jermaine here. You two are to take down a key Brotherhood official, and rescue one of our own. He goes by the name Hyde, its a codename. Bring him back to the rally point when you've completed your mission. Move out.' Joseph nodded, and glanced over to Jermaine who snapped foward the cocking mechanism on his submachine gun. The two dart under the parapet of a store and across the street to the side entrance to the Brotherhood hideout, making the necessay manuevers the two entered and the door closed behind them. Back at the rally point, the man who gave the orders to Joseph and Jermaine spoke up again. 'Alright, assault from this side as soon as the shooting begins. Do not send back up to Allington and his team, they've been resigned.' The rest is history with Joseph and Jermaine both being captured and subjected to the vile experiments by the Brotherhood. While Jermaine died, something inside Joseph Allington awoke. The rage and anger from his previous life, and from the set up at the hands of the AVC. After going insane from the serum, Joseph broke from the confines of his statis chamber and killed many Brotherhood members in the process of freeing his brethren. After escaping into the world, Joseph dropped his name and took up the name of the fake 'hostage' that became his 'demise'. Now that anger has consumed Hyde he blames Amelia for his 'death', as she was one of the higher ups of the mission who he has deemed traitors of life and will stop at nothing to kill them and cause as much destruction as possible.

My post will be two-fold. 1. What elements of games do I love the most? Fun factor! I don't care if I'm playing a game that looks like melted LEGO blocks, as long as its fun. Take Painkiller: Hell Wars (A port of the PC FPS of the same name) for instance; Its not the best looking game, doesn't have the most epic story, has really no gameplay tweaks like switches, puzzles, objectives or anything that makes a game expansive but its downright fun. The objective of the whole game level after level is kill or be killed. Shoot or be shot, so on and so forth. The next big thing on my list of gameplay elements is level design and we've seen truly great level design with games like Halo, Counter Strike, God Of War and heck, even Grand Theft Auto. There are some games out there where you can only see the same enviornments so many times before it becomes retarded. The last thing on my list is RPGs. I want them removed from existence altogether. They take too much time, level grinding is dumb. RPGs are the worst of gaming ever. Just kidding. Now onto the next part of the post. 2. If virtual reality became real then games would...Be alot more expensive! However, I don't think gaming would change too much in terms of gameplay. Sure you'd be in the game but you can only play so many FPSs before you become attune to them and can pick them up on the fly. In addition; just like gaming now you get a whole slew of cruddy or mediocre games before you get a truly GREAT game so I think VR gaming would more or less be the same just with someone actually in it. Though, I'd like to play an RPG in a VR game.

One thing I can tell you about real life being anime would be... We'd all look cool just standing still. Just take a look. [big images] Figure 1. Figure 2. Figure 3. Look at them! They're not doing anything and they all look cool! So if anime were real life, I'd only want it to be so I could look really cool by just standing still.

Ah, man! That guy...He cracks me up and out of sheer morbid curiosity would I want him to check out...Are you ready for this? Super Ghouls And Ghosts. Oh yes. I said it. That game may very well be the hardest game in the entire world, I kid you not. If you say you've beaten it; then I'll beat you...with a stick. That game was beyond hard, it was impossible. The jumping parts were the worst because you'd have all sorts of crazy ghouls and ghosts flying at you and you'd have to throw your lances or axes or whatever other power ups you got at them and then if one of them bastards hit you, it was all over. I mean sure you had another chance, albeit in your skivvies, but even still; one more hit and its back to the beginning of the level for you. Oh yes. That game is hard, will remain hard, and is just down right unfair. A game worthy of The Angry Nintendo Nerd.

Ahahah! I am happy with the way this is turning out, though I don't normally see myself as the Dante in retail situations but, eh, what can you do right? Either way the story is pretty good and let me tell everyone that the Solid Snake vs. Big Boss arguement was real, oh it was real and on many occasions. I can't wait to see where the story goes from here and I'm glad to see plenty of OBers popping up in the story. 'You know, I ask myself that same question every day.' Bwahaha! Thats so me.

What does di.fm want? Well. I really, REALLY want a 2.0 GB Memory Stick Duo for my PSP! You know how hard it is to want all the Packs for WipEout Pure and only be able to grab like 2 at a time due to the restriction of the 32 MBs I have at my disposal? So, thats it. I want a 2.0 GB Memory Stick Duo for the PSP...Because lets face it...More memory equals more music, pictures, and PACKS FOR WIPEOUT PURE!

Nanomachines. These tiny micro machines can repair living tissue beyond imagination and have created a world of unbound technology, both civilian and military. The Great War - 2054 - Somewhere in the Middle East. ~~~~~ The soldier screamed in agonizing pain as he was quickly, but carefully lifted onto a shoddy old table, blood pouring from an open wound in his leg. 'Put pressure on the wound!', the medic commanded as he turn to fish something from his kit. When he turned around he had a sort of ampoule in his hand which he snapped the top off, pushed the pressure givers' hand away and poured the silvery liquid into the wound of the bleeding soldier. The soldier let out a howling scream as the liquid mixed with his blood and over the course of 15 seconds was healed to complete perfection. Standing there in amazement were other soldiers who turned to the medic with eyes that demanded an explanation. 'Its the new stuff we're issued. Nanomachines is what they're called..Cmon, guys, lets get back into the fight.' Sometime in the future - 2113 - Detroit. ~~~~~ As the sci-fi books, comics, and movies of the 21st century predicted the world turned into giant sprawling cities with hovering cars, neon lit everything, and technology beyond our wildest dreams. Such technology was Nanomachine technology which has been upgraded from simple field surgery to more powerful methods of healing such as curing cancer, strengthen the immune system of an Aids victim, and even cure the common cold. Life expectancy is at an all time high with people being well over 100 years old, and quality of life has even improved with the use of Nanomachines. Furthermore, the world is finally at total peace with itself. An explosion rocked the Neo Sears Tower, the first having been knocked down in the Great War, leaving onlookers stunned as debris and glass rained down on the rest of the city. From the explosion a man seemingly leaped from the fiery carnage and plummeted to the ground. Many onlookers screamed in horror as the man fell but watched, by human nature, as he did expecting him to make a spaghetti stain on the pavement but to their amazement the man landed on his feet with a light tap and darted off down the street. One such bystander was Keith Warren, an upstart thief with the hands of a phantom. He watched it all with a smug smirk anyone would have trying to look cool in the face of disaster, but it was all a front when push came to shove as the man who fell from the building took Keith by the throat and put him in a stranglehold just as soon as Security Forces arrived on scene with guns drawn. 'Let the man go, Gray!', one security officer shouted tightening his grip on the rifle he was holding. Gray started walking backwards, pulling Keith with him and the Security Forces started walking towards the pair. 'Fire!' the leader of the security forces yelled and the crew opened fire on Gray and Keith, however Gray leapt into the air and onto the roof of a convenience store, bolting away. Keith lay dead in the street, and that was the start of many things to come. The Nano Crisis - 2113 - ----------. ~~~~~ Many things transpired over the course of a few months when a one Keith Warren was gunned down in the street, to onlookers, in a violent manner not seen since 2076, but that wasn't the case as Keith was just a casualty in the current war of the world; The Nano Crisis. Gray, a Nano boosted human with a remembered past, and an ability to self heal without the help of injected Nanomachines started an uprising against companies using Nanomachines and has amassed a small army, with the same inhuman power and healing ability as himself, to oppose Nanotechnology by saying; 'It ruins lives not saves them!', but in retrospect Gray is a deluded fool who only wants to destroy what the Gods wanted. The Nano Crisis - 2113 - Somewhere in Kansas. ~~~~~ 'Vitals are stable, muscles are relaxed, and everything is prepped to go. Continue when you're ready doctor.', an unknown voice spoke, muffled by the drowsiness that engulfed the test subject. 'Proceed with the waking process. I want them all at full capacity by the days' end.', the doctor said. The taps of his footsteps fading into the hallway from whence he came. The test subject felt a sudden jolt of energy shoot through him as he suddenly sat up as though he'd been awake for hours. 'Welcome back to the land of the living, Keith.', the scientist said. Keith looked around, other test subjects lay there in a circle of operating tables as he did, wondering just what the hell was going on. 'What the hell is going on here?', Keith demanded an answer but the scientist merely turned and started walking away. 'Your brothers and sisters will awake soon. Only then will you know your true purpose on this God given earth. Rejoice though, you've been revived by the Nectar. The gift from the Gods.' Keith flexed his fist and let out a huff. The thought that cross his mind was him getting shot dead in the street, and while he knew Nanotechnology was strong, it couldn't revive fallen people. If not Nanotechnology, then what?~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The premise is vague, I know, but I want it to be more enthralling when I start it up and the characters are given information on a need-to-know basis. Just hang in there, its all in the story. There are total of 7 spots, excluding my character available. Sign Up ~~~~~~~~ Name: (Whatever.) Age: (Semi-young, but not child-like.) Occupation in previous life: (What you were before ending up in Kansas but don't forget to elaborate bit on some simple skills that they may have.) Appearance: (Just a quick run by or picture of what your character looks like.) Character snippet: (I'm going to use the ever popular character snippet instead of the bio because bios are often neglected and impractical. As for the character snippet just post a two paragraph entry about what your character does when they wake from their slumber, and some interaction with the other characters around them.) ~~~~~~~~~ My Sign Up Name: Keith Warren Age: 21 Occupation in previous life: An upstart thug with the hands of a phantom. Lets see. First off I've never come to Suggestion & Feedback before because the OB never needed it but in these past months I'm seeing a decrease in a desire to frequent these boards for a few reasons.. 1. It seems that we get new members by the bundle every day and that?s fine, but when most just won't clean up their post quality and make an active effort to abide by the TOS it tends to make the boards look trashy. I remember a time when the OB was a, 'shape up or ship out' kind of message board. What happened? 2. Our moderator staff. This is a big one in a few ways such as the Arena Underground mod Bio. He hasn't posted anything since February and he was last active at the beginning of this month. Is that not dereliction of duty? More so than inactivity is the age range of our mod staff, and lack of experience. Some moderators are only 14 or 15 (Aaryana is 13!), have less than 500 posts and haven?t even been here a year. Another mod that has caught my interest is Ozymandius Jones, who seems a bit lazy for her own good. Why does it take 150+ posts to figure out a thread is sorely lacking in quality and must be shut down? How about a certain Pokemon RPG that is still up after Ozy warned them to clean up the post quality? Hello? Thread lock yet? Then there is Charles who seems to disregard and blatantly flame other members and bounces around and mods where he feels like it and the porn avatar? I?m not sure about you guys but isn?t a moderator supposed to be a sort of role model for other members as well as the police of the message boards? The signal that Charles?s avatar sends me is; ?Hey! I don?t give a crap about policy, and you shouldn?t either!? Don?t get me wrong, there are plenty of moderators who do their job such as Bombu, Revelation, and Retribution among others. I guess what I?m getting at is that the situation in the Role-Playing forum needs to be addressed, and the younger mods like Aaryana, Amelia, and while not young but still newer to the boards indifference also need to be replaced by members who have been here longer and are as competent and more deserving. I guess those are my main issues with the boards as is. If these issued were addressed then the OB would reform greatly and we?d all see the OB re-emerge that we loved back 2 - 3 years ago. Take this as you will but its just me exercising my freedom of speech.
