6. Every paycheck, or when I have about $15 bucks in my pocket, I head over to Hot Topic and talk to a certain employee there who always sets me down the metal path. He's showed me Once Nothing who build their songs on break-downs and semi-solos. Amazing work. Also put me in the direction of very confused bands like Beyond The Sixth Seal who can't decide if they want to be basic rock or death metal. Weird mash-up. But currently I'm listening to this FANTASTIC band called Stick To Your Guns. These guys know how to make melodic, sing-a-long, metal. At one point their singer, Jesse Barnett, will be belting out the verses with your tradition metal voice and the next moment the band will slow it down, break-down, and he'll give you the chorus in one of the best rock voices I've heard in a while. Not only him but the rest of the band deserve their salts as well, from the drummer Casey Lagos's speedy kicks and solid fills to Alex and Ryan's face-melting guitar playing. Darel's bass grooves are pretty solid as well. I certainly recommend.
7. I miss Viva Otaku and other general civil unrest between old members and newer members who had gained superiority fairly. Hell, I'm one of those members who used to stir up the hornets nest. I also miss some of the members I used to interact with such as Avalon, Annie (among other names, sheesh.), and even Charles. All in all I just miss the days when I'd spend HOURS on the OB replying to every single thread that either interested me or I had two cents to put in on just to get my post count high enough to NOT look like a new member, haha. I also miss some of the more inventive RPG ideas from years past. Kill Adam, though I did not partake, was pretty sweet. Too much riff raff in the RPG forum nowadays that I can't muster up the will to participate and the ones I do wanna try for take off like an airliner before I get a chance to write up a good character. (Ahem, James. Von Braun. Awesome idea.)
8. Who doesn't get on YouTube every now and then, ya know? As for what I search for it depends on what I need. Sometimes I'm like; 'Man, I wanna watch that one music video from that one band!' and sometimes I'm like; 'Hey, I wonder what Russian Sambo looks like in action.' and every now and then I just browse vides and see what people have created over the past months and so on. So I think the general consensus is that most get on YouTube for SOMETHING and, hey, who knows maybe there is someone just as addicted as you are.
9. 'Health packs' know exactly where to apply their gauze and healing agents without any aid from the player. You run faster with a knife equipped. You can be hit by a rocket and survive but falling any further than 20 feet is instantly fatal. Your hero never sleeps or eats. Ever. He's too busy saving a princess or kicking ***. The player character knows how to use every single weapon in existence, even alien weaponry, with deadly precision. Ninja favor brute force over stealthy tactics. Aliens still make the best bad guys.

11. Metal. Gear. Solid. 4. This is it. No more Solid Snake. It's done. The legacy has been closed off but thats not why I'm here. I'm here for Metal Gear Online. The multiplayer component to Metal Gear, which is to say the least, awesome. Sort of. You have to take the good with the bad, the cheap with the fair, and the complete bs with bs. Sometimes you'll be unloading into a mans head and he just swivels, aims, and takes your dome off. Other times you'll think you're being sneaky when someone runs up on you, uses the tazer end of the knife, then lays down and stabs you to finish you off. Snipers run rampant, pistols are useless. Grenades don't do what they're supposed to do; which is kill. No, instead the grenades knock you off your feet and take half of your life instead of all of it like grenades have done since the beginning of time. However, at the same time you can't help but have fun. When you try you can normally sharpshoot with the AK, if you're rolling with a team that has an inkling of tactics it's a blast, and when you do someone utterly amazing like flanking the snipers of the opposing team and taking them out you feel like the game was made for you. The game has many skills that you can equip to benefit you in some way. The 'Runner' skill makes you move a bit faster. Equipping the 'Assault Rifle+' skill lowers the amount of recoil to your rifle and lessens the time it takes to reload. All of the skills are able to increase up to 3 levels, which give you added bonuses to that certain level. Having level 3 'CQC' allows you to strip the weapons of your enemies and does a tremendous amount of damage to their stamina when you throw them, plus you can choke them out much quicker. Certain abilities aren't available until you level up and equip certain skills, as well. Equipping level 3 'Knife+' and level 1 'CQC' allows you to grab enemies and slit their throats. The downside to skills is that you can have a maximum level of 4 equipped, so; Level 3 'Assault Rifle +' and level 1 'Runner' is all you can equip. Or you could do level 1 'CQC', level 2 'Sub-machine gun+', and level 1 'Runner' and so on so forth, you get the idea. The amount of weapons, while not mind boggling, is a fair amount. You can access up to, I believe, 15 weapons which range from Sub-machine guns, assault rifles, a machine gun, a handful of sniper rifles, and some heavy artillery in the form of the RPG-7 rocket launcher. Some of the rifles, sniper rifles, and the P90 are able to upgrade in certain game rooms with the use of Drebin points, which are essentially points that tell you how good you're doing. The more points you have the better you're doing, and thus more points to spend on upgrades or buying a new weapon. The system is pretty neat in the fact that while you may go on a streak and have enough to buy the G3A3 assault rifle, which is better than both the starting rifles, you could end up getting killed enough times by doing a bit more poorly and have your points stripped away. I thoroughly enjoy playing MGO and I don't foresee myself changing multiplayer games any time soon especially not when Konami are releasing expansion packs with more weapons, maps, character items, and modes. I won't lie to you though; this game is certainly an acquired taste.
12. Name: Joseph Allington Age: 25 Sex: Male Weapon: Fully-automatic Light Machine Gun, knuckle dusters. Soldier/Psionic: Soldier, with hidden rarely used psionic talents. The ability to tap into the molecular structure of a human being, thus speeding up the healing process of a wound, though Joseph hides it so he isn't forced to be a medic. Brief Physical Description: If you could say one man is a monolith, it would be Allington. Standing at a large framed 6'7'' with a stone jaw and a shaved mohawk you could easily pick him out as the heavy gunner in a squad. He wears your average military fatigues though his blouse sleeves are torn off at the shoulder to showcase his bulging biceps. Brief Personality Description: Patriotic. If it isn't for the country it's bad. Hearty, and a well meaning man he can get quite vicious during the heat of battle and has a tendency to fly into a bloodlust. Reason for Enlisting: Its what his father did, what his fathers father did, what his fathers fathers father did. Family tradition, you see. One distinguishing feature about your character: The fact that he is quite easily one of the largest man some have seen. One way in which war has changed/will change your character: In the beginnings of his tour of duty he was a well disciplined and upstanding soldier but as the war dragged on and general rules of war were tossed out the window he became a more sinister being during combat and far less disciplined out of it.
13. Grid and Ninja Gaiden 2. One is perfect and the other could have been so much more. Can you guess? Be you'll be surprised. Grid is the most perfect racing game I have ever played. There is a fine line between simulation and arcade and either the game crosses that line or it doesn't. Codemasters decided; 'Hey, you know what? Why can't we have it all? Why not be able to race on tight technical track and then swap over and drift down Japanese mountain passes and then, heck, why not toss in destruction derby?' Now, there are some things about the game that could have been better like the ability to customize your ride but it doesn't hamper the games ability to dish out the greatest racing experience on console video games. Aside from that it's the best looking racing game around and with some of the most realistic damage modeling I've ever seen. Puts Forza to shame. Now, on another note I'm playing Ninja Gaiden 2 and while I love me some brutal super ninja-ing I can't help but wonder if the game SHOULD have been so much more. Ninja Gaiden 2 is certainly one of those games that tries to ride on the success of it's previous incarnation by bringing slight alterations to the table. Now, Gears of War 2 is going to look the same as it's predecessor and generally play the same but that sequel is only roughly 2 years apart as opposed to 4 years with Ninja Gaiden plus several attempts at making the first game even better. Simply put; Ninja Gaiden 2 should have looked MUCH better, had a more consistent difficulty, had better more varied backgrounds, and and been as a whole more next-gen. This is not the Ninja Gaiden 2 people were waiting for. Sorry try again Team Ninja, with or without Tobunobu.
14. Currently occupying my time is the game Grid while I wait for Metal Gear Solid 4. It's a very capable arcade racing game with an emphasis on different disciplines of racing. The main arch types being; American, European touring, and Japanese drift. Though, you can make it as real as you want it to be but I think the makers wanted it to feel arcadey. I'd say check it out if you have any interest in racing games cause it sure tops my list of current favorite racing games.
15. Currently I'm listening to the hard-core/metal band Once Nothing which since I've heard them have quickly become one of my favorite bands because I feel that even though their songs are a bunch of breakdowns it works and it works REALLY well. I bought another metal/hard-core CD last night titled; 'Ekklesia' by For Today and while they are certainly growly they have some neat guitar riffs and their drummer makes good use of off timing double bass kicks so it's pretty nice.
16. Humans abandoned a weapon in space and now it's returned to take it's revenge if one could fathom such horrible beasts contained complex thought and strong emotion. I am tasked with assaulting it's own lair and exterminating the threat once and for all. Though I must ask myself; very self hesitantly; 'Is it even possible?'
17. You know, with Star Wars characters appearing in a fighting game that leads me to say; I'd love to see a re-make of Star Wars: Masters of Teras Kasi, a fighting game on the PlayStation that was absolutely horrible. Hand the rights over to Namco and you'd have an absolutely glorious fighting game as well as some cameos of Tekken and Soul Calibur characters for sure.
18. Currently I'm playing Rainbow Six Vegas 2. I played the stuff out the first one and it, other than this second one, has been the only game to do that I play on a highly competitive level. Another thing I've taken a keen interest in is GameTap. Before actually using GameTap I thought it was some lame service that tried to swindle money out of you but when I took a look at the game library and and the price, which is only $60 a year, I was like; 'Sign me up!' Can't beat 1000+ games to play at any time.
19.
Sorry, bucko. Ganondorf got the short stick this go-round. He's slower, clunkier, his final smash is nigh useless, and they took away the ability to second-jump after the Wizard Kick, or whatever-the-deuce his down-B is called. And he runs like a gay Schwarzenegger.
Yeah, well, bucko I enjoy playing as him and he's a perfect compliment to a really quick character. Let them soften them up and then KAKOW! It's all over. I'm pretty glad Captain Falcon hasn't changed at all since his first appearance in the first game. Everyone else got queered out but Captain Falcon stayed the same and even can spin his Falcon Punch around. Sweet.
20. Well, it's the same as Melee and then before that the same as just regular ol' Smash but thats not really a bad thing. I don't own a Wiik and I don't intend to but when I'm at my friends houses I'll likely request this brawler. I play Captain Falcon a lot but I really like Ganondorf cause he's enough like Cpt. Falcon that I already know how to use him but also different enough to be constituted as a different character. I also enjoy using Ike. Man is a power-house for sure.
21. Well, I bought the game two days ago when it first came back. the day I heard about it back a few years I was hooked. After playing it; Yes, it's somewhat average in parts. Yes, it has it's flaws and even, yes, it's shallow from time to time. There isn't a billion co-op moves to perform and there are a lot of scripted co-op maneuvers but on a whole the game is fantastic if you're playing with a real buddy. Is it buyable? By all means, yes. Is it keepable if this hasn't been a game you've waited for? No, trade it after you beat it.
22. Yeah, I know I just posted yesterday but something new came out yesterday as well that I had been waiting for so Vagrant Story is now on hold and I am currently playing.. Army of Two. Man, is this game wonderful! When EA first announced this original IP I was stoked mainly because the main heroes, Tyson Rios and Elliot Salem, looked really rad in their full body armor and ballistic masks. Then I started hearing that you can do all these co-op moves and it would have this and it would have that. Now, granted, the final product didn't quite get around the corner but it surely did get close. I spent all day playing it with my friend yesterday and I can safely say it's definitely the definitive co-op game. The story, while not going to turn any movie-goers heads, still had more depth than most shooters and the game play had some neat additions that shooters lack these days; the main being the aggrometer. One player can piss the enemies off by shooting, exposing himself to fire, and generally, well, pissing the enemies off and such will be targeted by them while the other player will effectively go ignored. The co-op moves, while mostly scripted, are still wonderful and are a welcome addition rather than just dropping a second player into a single person's adventure such as Halo. The multi player is pretty original as well. Two teams of two against each other and A.I. controlled foes trying to complete random objectives around the stage. The neat part about it is that once you start performing the objective the other team is notified and now has to counter your objective. So, say, you are supposed to find and defend a nuclear warhead on a roof somewhere the other team's objective is to destroy it. With every objective completed, foe killed, or otherwise productive actions grants you money to spend in the match at weapon depots for better weapons and armor upgrades as well as going to your total leader board ranking. The more money you've made the higher your score is, so it adds that; 'Should I buy something or just continue?' factor. All in all, the game didn't disappoint me and if you're someone who is down for co-op games then, by all means, purchase Army of Two.
23. Every now and then I like to go back in time and experience the games I once loved or, rather, still love. Vagrant Story. Possibly the second best RPG I've ever played, next to Rogue Galaxy. It had one of the greatest story lines in any RPG with all kinds of twists, turns, and plot devices to keep you on the edge of your seat and the main character, Ashley Riot, was bad to the bone. The combat is what hooked me. When in combat you simply press the O button and a wire frame sphere of attack erupted from Ashley's body. I twas then you could target different parts of the target's body and attack it for different status effects, such as attacking the legs to reduce their movement by 50% or attack the head to Silence them. Not to mention all the Affinities, Types, and Classes of the weapons and armors you wore and wielded that you had to take in to account. Simply put the game was, and still is perfect. Play it.
24. Ooh man. After I got my tax return I went and bought a buncha new games. Currently, out of the list, I'm playing Lost Odyssey. Its pretty sweet. It's pretty basic as well, though. Classic RPG style to the core. The story is neat, however, and the characters all have likable personalities; even Kaim who decided to take cues from Cloud off of FF7 and brood. All in all you'd have to dig RPGs to enjoy this game cause it's not reinventing any wheels anytime soon.
25. You know, I'm one for continued story lines and all but the new one really didn't bother me as much as it bothered other people. Yeah, sure, he's this bulked up commando but he's still native-American with a sense of pride and honor; you'll see at the end. And the dinosaurs make sense in context to the story line somewhat. A little far-fetched but sensible in fiction.
Since they're terraforming an otherwise completely lifeless planet they started from where our earth began; the prehistoric era and are building up from there.
I honestly can't say I disliked the game at all. No disappointment.
