1. Over the past three or four days, I've worked on this on and off because of a lack of time, but I finally got it done this morning. It's really... bleh, in my opinion, but I'll see what everyone else thinks. 3. Ho'shnap. They're both really good, but I'm gonna go with White this time. First off, I don't really like white backgrounds, though there are exceptions every once in a while. I'm pretty sure Boo was aiming to be simple, but this came across a little too simple to me. And the 'C' and 'k' being cut off reeeeally bugs me. It looks like an accident, but not a good one, y'know? And it doesn't fade as well as White's does, even though black fading to white looks much better than white fading to black probably would. So yeah. Even though White spelled 'COLOR' wrong (xP), I still like his better. Sowwy Boo. D:
4. Name: Aoi Hada Race: Half-Dragon. Daughter of a dragon shapeshifter and a human, Aoi was born a half-dragon, a rare breed of humanoid creatures with dragon characteristics (long life span, scales, a horn, wings, tail, exaggerated teeth and claws). Her scales are blue while her eyes are bright yellow, and her long hair is blonde. Age: 116 Gender: Female Faction: Glowing Star Personality: Aoi holds a high rank in the Glowing Star, and is one of the most fearsome looking, as well. One's first thought of her after seeing her would be she was a violent, cold-hearted creature. However, this couldn't be further from the truth. Passive, submissive, caring and self-sacrificing, Aoi hates the idea of anyone being in pain, but she is expected to fight because of her strength and usefulness. During battle, she is very conservative of her powers, using as little force as she possibly can until her own, or a fellow faction member's, life is threatened. Weapons and Abilities: Being of blue dragon decent, Aoi has the ability to create and control lightning. As a half-dragon, she doesn't have the natural strength of a full-fledged dragon (though she is at least ten times stronger than a human), so she has trained as a summoner, and is now able to call upon spirits and occasionally other dragons as well. She used to rely heavily on her book of summons, but can now do many of them without it. She does keep it with her at all times, however. Snippet: Soaring high above the battle-scarred fields, Aoi cheerfully twirled about in the air, her blue wings creating strange patterns in the clouds. She was smiling and laughing for the first time in a long time, and with good reason. Her training had been grueling while her master was demanding and unforgiving, leaving her with no reason to be cheerful. But now, she was free. "It's finally done!" she giggled quietly to herself before spiraling downwards towards the ground. Pulling up from her nosedive just as her nose felt the tickle of wheat, she glided for a few more moments before falling into the embrace of the crop. Sprawled out as much as she could, Aoi stared up at the sky. As she rested, thinking quietly to herself, she decided she might as well give it a try. She took a moment to stand back up, the many tall strands of wheat clinging to her stalling her. Then, to concentrate, she took a deep breath and clapped and rubbed her hands together, the sound of thunder suddenly shaking the calm of the field. "Alright... Lets give this a shot." She pulled her hands apart and held them out while staring intently at the empty space between them. Three seconds passed before a white circle appeared which she pulled a thick, leather-bound book out of. Flipping through the pages, she found a familiar creature: a phoenix. "This will be easy!" she mumbled to herself. Holding out her right hand as she held the book in her left, she made a few signs before closing her eyes. After a second or two, the sky turned from light blue to dark red as a fiery circle appeared before her. Slowly, the circle began to take the shape of a bird. Finally, with a flash of light, a phoenix floated patiently before her, waiting for instructions. "I did it!" Aoi cried happily. "Now all I have to do is figure out how Master does it without a book..." As she fell into thought, she began wandering through the field towards the hut, her summoned creature floating behind her. --- OOC: Though I haven't said anything in the underground thread, I'd still really like to participate in this thing. Here's my character again, though I edited some of the sign up to suit the new factions, and her old name was bugging me. ^_^;

This looks like a lot of fun. :3 If there's anything I need to change, let me know. Oh, but I won't be able to post until Sunday night, or maybe Monday because I'll be out of town this weekend. Hopefully you'll overlook that. ^_^;

7. Alright. My first post is up! x3 But, unfortunately, I'll be gone Friday through Sunday. I might still have computer access, though, so it's possible that you'll be seeing another post from me. But I'm not positive. Lets hope Team B wins! :'D
8. Gum hummed happily along with the song playing through her headset as she skated beneath her yellow question-marked box. She had paid attention to Mario, but she always liked jumping to a rhythm, and was waiting for the best part of the song to jump to. Finally, the song's key and pace shifted abruptly, and she was in the air. It wasn't a long jump, not leaving her enough room for a flip, so she simply bumped her head on the bottom of the block. Out popped a cute little coin, with a small mushroom carved into it. "Looks boring," she mumbled to herself. Whipping out a can of spray paint, she took a moment or two to decorate both sides of the strange coinage, before pulling it away from her face to admire. She nodded to herself, satisfied with the result. "Much better!" And with that, Gum was heading up the stairs. She wasn't even half way to the top when a group of mean-looking, walking mushrooms was blocking her path. But without changing her strides, she was knocking them all out of her way with the sides of her skates. The tiny creatures were no match for the technology of a Rudie. A couple flying turtles flew at her as she travelled upstairs, but they were easily dodged as she concentrated on the new song surging through the headphones built into her helmet. When she reached the top of the stairs, she saw five strange creatures sitting around a table, waiting for her. She reached into her pocket, where she had tucked away the coin, but couldn't find it. Slowly, she backed away from the customer table, and headed back towards the stairs to find her coin. The panic was taking a while to really get a hold of her as her eyes darted around along the long staircase, searching for the blue and yellow (thanks to her artistic talents) coin. Finally, she spotted it in the mouth of a pirahna plant only a few stairs down. She lunged at it, holding out her spray can, as if that would frighten it into dropping coin. Oddly enough, it did, and she ran back towards her potential customers, her coin held securely in her hands. They were all strange looking, but two of them looked strangely alike, though one was much larger than the other. Deciding on the smaller 'twin', Gum muted her radio, sat on the part of the table in front of him and placed the coin in his hands. "Wanna buy that?" "This?" "That." "It doesn't look real. The colors aren't even right, see?" "They're better this way," Gum insisted. ".. Hmm. I'm not sure..." As the small creature thought it over, she noticed how he was mimicking his larger counterpart. Suddenly, an idea popped into her head. "You know," she whispered, making sure the large shelled monster wouldn't hear her, "He's thinking of getting one, too." "Then I'll take it!" he cried eagerly. She grinned at her successful sale, then jumped off the table and slid down the rail of the stairs, making a few tiny jumps in the air as she went. "One down!" Gum cheered happily, turning back up the volume of her radio.
9. Apologies for not having posted yet. I've been a bit busy, and my schedule's driving me crazy. But I should have a post up tonight. Thanks for your patience, Team Beta!
10. Woot! >:3 I thought I was out of this for good. *dancedance* White PMed me, offering me a spot, so here's my sign up. Name: Gum Game: Jet Grind Radio, Jet Set Radio Future Portrait: Gum (Sorry for the crappy quality. x.x If I find a better one, I'll edit it in.) Experience: Gum, while lacking in practice of saving damsels in distress, has plenty of experience in saving the day. Not in the conventional way, however. Gum and her fellow GG Rudies are constantly keeping watch over Tokyo-Cho, keeping the crooked cops and other gangs out. She is very athletic and skilled with her blades and spray cans, and she'll have you down and decorated in seconds. Reason: Gum became a Rudie for the adrenaline rush of being chased by the cops and just being able to skate around town listening to her headphones. Recently, however, things have been getting boring in Tokyo-Cho, and she's left Beat and the GG's to find new adventure. While skating about, the commercial for OB Apprentice came on the radio, and snagged her interest.
11. Name: ----- AKA: Gum Age: 23 Gender: Female Appearance: Gum* Personality: Gum is a very quiet young woman, the only noises coming from her being the chewing and popping of her gum, which she always has plenty of. She says pretty much nothing at all, and her expression never changes despite whatever emotions she may feel. Because of this, she can easily mask her intentions and motives. She does have a playful side, though many would consider it more of a menacing, disturbing and violent side of her. Biography: Alison slowly opened the screen door, concentrating on one of the letters she held in her hands. She mouthed the name above the return address with a look of confusion on her face. "Who the hell is 'Gum'?" she asked herself. She sat down at her kitchen table and opened the envelope. Out fell three folded pieces of paper. Picking up the first one, she mumbled to herself at how familiar the handwriting was, but she shook her head of the thought and began to read. 'Dear Alison, You probably do not remember me. And the fact that I go by a different name now than when you knew me probably does not help. But it is of no importance for you to know my name anymore. I have been feeling increasingly guilty about what I have been doing, and I must write this confession for someone to read. Even if I must choose a person I spoke to briefly over a decade ago. It started back when I turned seven. My biological father bought me a pack of gum. His whore of a girlfriend, who was most likely planning to run off for a while, killed him about a week later when he tried to stop her from driving off with all our money. Little did she know, I had loaded her drinks and food with rat poison during the last dinner we had together. I do not believe she could have driven far. I was put in a foster family, but I was sent to an orphanage after an incident where I 'played' with the family pets. That is where we met. You might remember me, since I was the only one in that terribly boring place that did anything other than sleep; I chewed my gum. Only the brand that my father bought me, though. Anything else lacked the sentimental value I wanted. After about two days of me being there, I was about to be sent away again when you spoke to me. I had wanted to ask you for many years why you chose me, but it would be pointless now because I no longer care. The day after that, I was placed in another home. Once there, I discovered that they already had several foster children. One of them tried to take some of my gum, and I was forced to kill him. The others were getting on me nerves, too, so I got rid of them all in the same night. After that, they refused to let me return to an orphanage. I was going to be sent to a crazy bin for kids, but I decided that would not be the best place for me, so I simply left. Still only twelve, and with no actual home, I spent my first night in a long time in a dumpster. It was not really that bad; better than I remembered. The next morning, I went to the largest park in the city. I met the Man there. I happen to know his actual name, but I do not think you deserve to know it. But anyway, I did not say a word to him, nor did I try to convince him that he should even notice me. But by the blood on my dirty clothes, he offered me a home and a job. I nodded my head, and he led me to his car. He lived in a nice, large home. Something I was not used to. He asked me to tell him where the blood came from, but I decided I would prefer to show him instead. I killed a few of his butlers as a demonstration, and he called me a natural. He must have thought I was too young to be sent out to kill, and until I turned sixteen, I was like a tutored guard dog. I would not be surprised if he had a sign on the front gates saying, "Beware of Guard Girl" or something. Then, for my sixteenth birthday, he gave me a pistol. I had recently finished my tutoring lessons, and so he gave me my first job. I could not tell you what kind it was or how many bullets it held, but I can tell you how many times it had to be replaced. Everytime he gave me an assignment, I would bring the gun along just in case, and end up leaving it behind. Of course, with his kind of money, replacing a tiny back-up pistol is nothing. I rarely used the guns I brought with me, anyway. I have always preferred using my hands. And that is how it has been ever since. I kill for him. You may still be wondering why I wrote to you, and I feel that you deserve to know for having read all of my letter. You are my target today, Alison. I do not not know what you did, but I have been given your name and address, and some instructions. You just happened to be someone I recall. So again, I thank you for reading this. Once I see you drop these papers, I am sure I will be able to feel less guilty. I wish I could feel sorry for you, but that is not what I do. Good bye Alison. Sincerely, Gum' Alison's shaking hands dropped the pieces of paper, and she slowly stood up, heading for her keys. But before she took more than three steps, she heard the chewing and popping of bubble gum. She didn't take another step. "I remember you," she chuckled, her wavy brown hair falling into her face. "You were the one all the adults were calling sick in the head. I'm not really surprised that you got into this kind of 'profession'. Headcases make the best killers, don't you think?" Gum walked up behind her victim and blew another bubble, the same bored expression on her face that she had developed as a child. In a single, swift motion, she sent her hand straight through Alison's back and out her chest, and she was dead. Peeling the corpse off from around her forearm, Gum calmly dropped the dead body on the wooden kitchen floor and left the way she had arrived. If she still talked at all these days, she would have said something about getting tiles; it's easier to get blood off of them. Weapon: Gum is an expert in hand-to-hand combat, preferring not to use weapons. However, as a precaution she keeps at least one pistol on her at all times, though she is never attached to any of the guns she uses, and constantly ends up loosing or forgetting them. Alliance: Tokyo Elite -- I've always wanted to be in one of the Kill Bill-like RP's. :3 Sorry it's not all done, but I've got a Global project to get done, even though it's midnight. I'll finish the biography some time today. ^_^;; EDIT: Sorry it took so long, but the biography is finally up. Apologies if it sounds like some of the rest of your sign ups, but I didn't really read most of them so I just did something that might be different. Can't wait for this to start. :'D *Art by and courtesy of fetalstar.

'Concentrate...' High school senior Miki Aoiro sat quietly at her desk during the first class of the day, already sick of being there. It was an unusually hot day New York City, even for the summer month of June. There was about three weeks left of school, including the days without classes when the students took their end of the year tests. But Miki was impatient. She had convinced herself that it was necessary for her to get out of there, and with the ability to do so, she wasn't about to sit back and watch the lesson. She, herself, sat comfortably in her seat, while those around her felt a drastic increase of temperature. Two of the girls towards the front of the room fainted almost simultaneously, and even the teacher towards the front of the room was feeling light headed. The teacher asked the girls' friends to bring them to the nurse, and excused the rest of the class, bewildered by the sudden occurance. Miki, not planning on sticking around for the rest of the day, headed towards the school gates, her forged permission note clenched tightly in her fist if anyone attempted to stop her. Today, she had decided, she was going to start her search. Suddenly, her left arm left her side without her consent, and she turned to see what had caused it. She saw John holding onto her wrist as he caught up with her brisk pace. "That was weird, huh, Blue?" John asked, referring to the girls who had fainted in their previous class. "Hmm," she mumbled in reply. "Where are you going? When the next bell rings, they'll expect you in class." "Then tell them I've gone home. I'm feeling 'under the weather'." Miki attempted to continue on her way, but her body jerked backwards as she continued, forcing her to come to a halt. John was stronger than her, and even though she couldn't feel his hold on her, it was still there. "What's up, Miki? You haven't been yourself lately." He rarely ever used her real name, so she knew he was being serious. But she couldn't help but chuckle loudly to herself. "And what's so funny?!" "I haven't been myself for a long time, John. I'll see you around." Hoping he had loosened his grip, she pulled back her arm to free it, and turned away from her friend. At the gate, a guard stood in her way, but she handed him the note and after answering a few of his questions, he opened the gate for her. He waved and said he hoped she'd feel better as she walked out onto the sidewalk. She took a glance back at the private school, and John, who stood quietly behind the gates, before walking towards the local coffee shop. ~ 'Now... How am I going to contact the others?' Taking a small sip of her coffee, she scratched her head. She was having a hard time figuring out what to do. It was a foolish idea already; afterall, she had no idea what gathering everyone together would accomplish, and she didn't even know how she was going to do that. "Maybe I'll make a reality show to attract 'em all," she laughed. "Call it 'The Freakiest Ability Show-Off' or something." "That's a horrible name for a reality show." --- [OOC: Alright, after a long delay, with the agreement to participate from several of those who signed up, Faded is finally up and running. For now, just post as your character going through a normal morning for them, wherever they are. If anyone wants to take over the conversation with Miki, feel free. If no one feels up to it, I shall continue it in my next post. This conversation will most likely lead to the idea of how she is going to gather everyone who is cursed. Be creative, use your 'gift' anyway you want, and have fun!]
13.
The "Married to Kitty" is there to show... Well, that I have an OB marriage with Kitty? Haha-- Those are silly.
Well, silly suits you. :P My signature is a couple of lnks; one for the graphics club and my devART account. 14. Though most of the people who have posted so far have given examples of their understanding of and ability to speak Japanese, I think I'll pass on that. I'd embarrass myself too much. xD I just came home from a Japanese lesson, actually. I was going to take a high school course, but I moved, and my new school doesn't offer that as a language. So now I'm tutored by a kind native Japanese speaking woman who lives nearby. I've been studying for over a year now, and so far developed a decent vocabulary (or enough for me to be able to ask my way around a Japanese city, at the very least), and I've gotten a hang of the different forms ('-te', '-nai', '-ta', and dictionary forms). I'm most eager to learn informal Japanese, since I know a few Japanese transfer students that are willing to practice with me once I learn it. :3

Wow. There's a bigger turnout than I expected. o.O (And all of the sign ups are all done! Yay! x3) So that's cool. I'm really liking the imagination you all put into the curses. Looks like nobody wanted to be just a regular guy or girl. =P But that's fine. Well, I really see no reason not to let you all in. I have no complaints with your powers, since they all have fair trade offs. (I really like Asim's curse for some reason, lol.) I'm going to leave the sign ups open until Sunday night, when I'm going to put this up in the Square. I'll get around to the Underground thread sometime tomorrow, too, where I'll finally explain how we're all going to meet up and what will happen afterwards. But I won't give away too much. ;D So look forward to Sunday!
16. Faded [PG-LV] "Jeez... You're the only one I know that'll walk around town in a skirt during winter, y'know that?" John teases. I'm looking down, so I see his hands at my sides, attempting to tickle me before he runs off ahead. "Hey! I'm wearing a scarf!" I call, starting off after him as he disappears between the many people crowding the sidewalk. This is what's it like. Being normal, I mean. John teasing me about something, followed by me chasing after him, threatening to give him the worst beating of his life. It's not like I can't fake the normal things, like playing video games with my brother or going to the mall with my group of friends. It's just that they don't feel right anymore. The 'normal' part of me faded away seven years ago. That's why I always find myself stopping to think about how things used to be. "You alright, Miki?" His voice alerts me that he's beside me. I look up, and see he has a hand on my shoulder. He must have been standing there for almost a minute. He's noticed that I've stopped and come back to ask why I'm not chasing him. You know, being normal, like I'm supposed to. "Yeah. Fine," I mumble into my scarf, starting to walk away. I'm always the one ruining the relaxed mood and adding strange tension to the air when I'm with my friends. They don't say anything, but I'm sure they realize it, too. It's not fair. No, not to me. I can't be unfair to myself. But it's not fair to John, or the rest of my friends and family. I can't tell them. I know they won't think any less of me, or at least I'd hope they wouldn't, if they knew, and they'd probably even try to help. It's starting to eat me up inside, keeping this secret. But I will spare them the horrible feelings this secret has infected me with. I am cursed. I'm sure there are others like me. In fact, somehow, I know there are others. But that doesn't make it any easier. I am the one human being on the planet that can control the temperature. Doesn't sound that bad, does it? I can turn the feel of a blizzard into a very windy day in a park during summer. But because of this 'gift', I can no longer feel anything but heat. The force of the wind, the wetness of the rain... or the touch of another person. The worst part is, sometimes I have dreams where I get this phantom feeling of things. It would be easier to accept this curse if those phantom feelings disappeared, but they stay to haunt me. This loss of my sense of touch seems as if all the nerves in my body have been frozen by the cold that I can control. The only reason I even own my winter clothes is to try and fool everyone else. I'm not sure if it works, but it's all I can do, really. I hate wearing most of them, though, so they haven't been used more than twice, if that. What these other 'cursed ones' can do, I'm not sure. I also don't know if there's anyway to get rid of this ability and get my sense of touch back, but I do know one thing. If I'm going to get rid off my power, I'll need to find the others who have powers. That's how this weird 'laws of curses' thing work, or so I've heard. So, I'm going to start looking for them. Even if it means using all my money, and even some of Auntie's, to travel across the globe to find them. If they won't come willingly, I'll take them forcefully. Some might even live nearby one another, and even know each other. I don't know how long it will take to find them all, or even how I'm going to find them, or what I'll do once I have found everyone, but I'm willing to try. Whatever it takes, I'll do it. I got this way after an accident when I was ten. I used to feel. I had always hated the pain in my knees after I scraped them, but now I long for it. I never know when I have an upset stomach or a broken bone until I throw up or I notice that my limb isn't working quite right. I almost lost my leg when I was twelve because of it. My determination, I'm sure the others will understand it once I explain. They'll probably have been thinking about gathering us all together to find a solution, too. They just might not have the resources to do it, or may have been in too much doubt to admit that there could be others. But they'll want to fix things. They'll want to get back the normal that has long since faded away. I'm the one that's going to find them all so we can. ~~~ Alright. That was probably a long and boring read, and probably sounds angsty and stupid. I know, I know. But the actual RP will be more fun and exciting than that (or at least I hope so). Now, this was thought up in a random brainstorm I got yesterday around dinner time, and I spent about four hours writing it up. Since I haven't done an RP in a while, I figured I'd do it now. However, this idea doesn't seem absolutely great to me (even though I came up with it; go figure), so I won't feel disappointed if this doesn't get much notice. But anyway, I'm going to be playing Miki, the young girl from the monologue/story above that's out to find the others who are cursed and bring them all together so they can find a way to get back what was taken away from them. You can be pretty much anyone you want, whether you are cursed or just someone that somehow found out about it and wants to help. To make things go a little faster, you're all going to have to be within the US. You don't have to have been born there originally, but you have to be living there now or visiting or something. And it would be great if a few of you (if not all) knew each other. Whether by going to the same schools, being neighbors, or even pen pals. You can even know Miki already, but keep in mind that even if you know her, you won't know that she is cursed. So, without anymore babbling, here's the sign up. Name: Nickname(s): Optional. Age: Anywhere from 10 (which is the age everyone realizes the curse) to 25 (if you want to stay out of the angsty, mall-obsessed years). Gender: Origin: Where you were born. (You can include the city or state if you want to.) Current Residence: Where you are now. Appearance: Picture or description or both. Either is fine. Curse: This is only for those who are cursed. What power did it give you and what did it take away? Go wild with this one (keeping it within reason, though; no being able to control time or making things exist and unexist), but make sure that whatever is taken away is something relativaly similar to what you gain. Personality: Make this somewhat varied, and describe how you feel about the curse. Are you happy or upset about it? This will determine whether or not you will be easy to convince when Miki finds you. Biography: If you are cursed, remember that you were born cursed, but only at the age of 10 did it begin to show. Include whatever incident that happened when you were 10 and how you came to the United States. Or, if you aren't cursed, describe how you came to know of the curse. I'm willing to take anywhere from three to ten for this, though I don't expect to get many. If there are (miraculously) more than ten sign ups, if they're of good quality, I'll take more. Keep in mind that even if you're the third person to post your sign up, you aren't guarenteed to get in. Here's the sign up for my character to give you all an example. (Your biography doesn't have to be as long as mine, though. I just like typing a lot. >_>'') Name: Miki Aoiro Nickname(s): Her friends developed the nickname Blue, but she has developed Heatwave as an alias for herself. Age: 17 Gender: Female Origin: Japan (Kakunodate, Senboku District, Akita) Current Residence: New York Appearance: Miki Miki almost always wears her scarf, even in the warm months of summer, because she had it on the day she got her curse. Other than that, her attire differs from day to day. She prefers wearing skirts with her sandals, but she'll wear her boots and thigh-high socks often, too. She normally wears t-shirts or tanktops underneath her scarf, and only wears a jacket when she feels it would match the rest of her outfit. She stands at just under 5 feet 8 inches tall, and she has green eyes and brown hair that reaches down past her hips, but she normally keeps it up in a ponytail. Curse: Can control the degree of heat in the body of a person or group of people (aka temperature) in exchange for her sense of touch, other than heat but including pain. Personality: Ever since she became cursed, Miki has developed a very aloof state of mind. She is very distant and feels alone, even when she is surrounded by others. She has also become very shy, when she used to be very bold. She is very passive about things, unless she has a very strong feeling for or against something, but that is rarely the case. She is good at keeping secrets and lying to someone else's face with a calm, believable expression, but she always feels somewhat guilty about doing so, depending on who she isn't being truthful with. The only real thing she's found hope in is finding the others, even though she has no proof that there even are others. But once she's decided to do something, there is no changing her mind. Biography: Miki was born in the small town of Kakunodate on the island of Akita in Japan to a middle class family. She was a regular child and did regular things with her regular parents and older brother Haru. She went to school, did well and made friends. Like most children do. She had family all over the world, so she learned the basics of many languages. At school, she studied Japanese and English mainly, as did many other students. Her family also went on vacations during her school's breaks, like others did. The winter she turned ten, Miki's family went to Tokyo to visit her cousins. They had planed to stay a week at her uncle's home, but the trip didn't last four days. On the third day, they were walking through the city, heading to a popular restaurant to eat at for lunch. Miki had been complaining about her heavy winter coat and started imagining warmer weather. Soon, she actually began feeling the heat she was imagining and removed her coat, following the rest of her family in just her scarf, shirt and skirt. The farther they walked, the farther she fell behind. When they went to cross the crosswalk, she was almost completely out of sight, even though they all assumed she was right behind them. As the large crowd of people bumped by her, she dropped her winter coat back on the sidewalk, but she couldn't go back to get it until the large stampede of pedestrians passed by. Once the crowd had dissolved enough, she ran back and got it. Her parents had finally realized that she wasn't right behind them, and had chased back after her, but as they walked onto the crosswalk, they were hit by the oncoming traffic that couldn't stop in time. Miki, age 10, and Haru, age 13, stayed with their cousins until the funeral, where their aunt, who had been living in the United States for several years, invited them to come live with her since she had a much bigger house in a smaller, less busy town. They were encouraged to accept, and in the end, decided to go back with her. Before leaving, they flew back home to gather the rest of their important belongings and clothes. The rest of their relatives would figure out what would happen to the house and money left behind. Both kids were given the equivalent of 1000 dollars of US currency from their parents' estate before moving in with their aunt. Miki immediately went into withdrawl, keeping her feelings of worry and sadness and guilt to herself, along with the knowledge of her declining sense of touch, and the many random waves of temperature she had been experiencing ever since the move. She started school with Haru about a month after they settled in. Though she started out shy and quiet, she did develop a few friends rather quickly. She started feeling normal again, but by the time her eleventh birthday came about, she had completely lost her sense of touch and had discovered the strange ability to control how hot or cold she felt. She practiced on others, too, and could see she could control their temperatures as well. She thought it was an interesting gift, but not worth the price she unwillingly paid. But still, she kept it secret, and she pretended like everything was normal. Miki has been fooling her friends and family for six long years, and she's finally decided it's time to do something about the curse. She has been visiting libraries and spending countless hours on the internet searching for some clues or hints or suggestions or details or anything. She hasn't found anything extremely helpful yet, but she has found vague details that gave her the idea to search for the others. Even during her search, she plans to bring along her laptop to search for more details. She wants to tell her brother and aunt about her curse before she leaves, but she has yet to gather up the courage to do so. ~~~ Alright. It's 3 in the morning and I am tired! So I'm going to sleep now. xP If there are any more updates or details, I'll be sure to edit and let you know.
17. Name: Reveille Lange, but is usually (and prefers to be) called Kitty Gender: Female Age: 15 Appearance: Kitty Sphere: Wind Sphere Powers: Kitty has the ability to speed up, slow down, or completely stop (but only if the target is smaller than a car) the movement of herself and other things with the wind she can control. She can also move light things around her. She can't fly or even levitate yet, but she'll practice (if she can summon the patience). Country: California, US Personality: Kitty is a very laidback girl. Often seen slouching, she carries herself with a very aloof attitude. She cares little for what's going on around her, even if it has something to do with her. She has very little patience and a short attention span, so it's hard for her to be determined about or dedicated to anything. However, she enjoys, and is normally found sleeping, snacking, playing video games or with cards, going to see movies, listening to or singing along with her music, practicing her guitar, or reading comics. Her favorite music genres are rock, punk, metal, and some J-pop. She is not a very shy person, though she is quiet. She has a tendancy to blurt out what she is thinking, rather than keeping it to herself. Most would see her as an arrogant brat that thinks of everyone else as nothing more than obstacles in the way of whatever it is that she wants, and that is, unfortunately, the case most of the time. Whenever her caring side manages to show itself, it is usually when her concern for another is recognized, normally when that person or thing is hurt or something. But she tells people not to hold their breath when they want her to be caring more often. She has somehow managed to feel guiltless, even when she is rude and cold to others. It's also somewhat amazing that she has any friends that can stand her sarcastic and somewhat narcissistic attitude. Weapon: Kitty uses small projectiles, including knives and pins she keeps hidden on her person, that she can make act like boomeranges and accelerate to dangerous speeds with the wind. Her favorite is a medium-sized pocket knife (the largest she carries with her) she bought at a carnival she went to. In the handle, the word "deceit" is etched in silver lettering. She thought it was strangely fitting to such a weapon, since a knife is normally used for stabbing someone when they least expect it. Bio/Snippet: The distance was becoming blurry, and it was hard to concentrate. Everyone else had somehow disappeared, though their voices still echoed across the landscape. Reveille stood quietly, glaring down a large lake of black water that looked more like a black hole than a body of water. Suddenly, the wind picked up, scattering the eerie calm of the lake into smaller whirlpools of darkness. And as she opened her mouth to speak, a loud beeping filled the world, and she groaned angrily as the dream world faded to black. "Why do you need to sleep so much, Kitty? You take at least ten cat naps everyday!" her mother teased, dragging the blankets off her bed. "Shut up," she snapped, slowly making her way over to her alarm clock to shut it off. "It's already past eight. I'm late. Why didn't you wake me up earlier?" "I thought you had set your alarm." Kitty glared at her mother until she shook her head and left the room, closing the door behind her. Grabbing her uniform, she changed swiftly before gliding out her room and down the stairs. In the kitchen, her younger brother was eating cereal while watching the beginning of some cartoon, kicking his feet merrily as he hummed along. "Will you need a ride?" her mother asked, entering the kitchen from the dining room. "Nah. I'll walk." Slamming the screen door behind her as she always did, Kitty walked swiftly through the lawn and up the sidewalk. As she stared at the sky above her, daydreaming like she always did when she wasn't sleeping, she became unaware of the rest of her surroundings. Not even a minute later, without warning, she ran into something. Stumbling backwards a few steps, she blinked when she realized she'd hit the school's doors. "Wait a.. How the hell'd I get here? How long have I been zoning out?" she mumbled to herself. Shrugging it off, she pushed her way through the doors and headed towards the office with a fake note in her pocket. She was sure to have one with her everyday, just in case. --- OOC: Well, since I hate being called by my full first name (and it's difficult to spell until you get used to it), and my nickname is too similar to Revelation's character's, I'll be referring to my character as Kitty for the most part. The rest of you won't have to (if I get in), though. And sorry for not having the Bio/Snippet done. I just can't think of anything right now. I blame the time that I'm typing this. ^__^; EDIT: Okay... Finally finished. xD;; I hope I'm not too late.
18.
I'll do my best with the circles... give me today to see what I can do.. I'll line the images up to see if they fit. But have faith in me :p until i lose faith in myself
Sorry about that. ^__^;; And I really need a new monitor. I just looked at my picture on my dad's computer, and I can see that I missed a few spots in her hair, and that the white line doesn't fade as well as I thought it did. Bleh. So, that makes it worse than it already was. xD But anyway, good luck to you Drix, and sorry for making my cut off such a horrible disaster. x.x
19. My own copy of Photoshop CS just came in the mail yesterday, so I got to experiment a lot on this one. I'm not so great at the whole blending thing, but I did a decent job, I guess. It is horribly ugly, though. (And intensely blue.) Just warning you. And no, I did not do the girl vector. Just to avoid any questions about it. That'd be impossible for me to do, since I can't vector to save my life. But I'm rambling. Without further ado, my Worm picture. One last note: Imageshack has decided to be uncooperative for the time being, so it may take a while to load. (It did for me, anyway.)
20. Kyusa stood before the large double doors of the building in her hoodie and baggy jeans, making sure her face was shadowed and her tail and ears were hidden. She knocked several times before a young woman that served as 'doorman' appeared. She raised an eyebrow as she examined Kyusa. "Is Miss Aya still here?" "What would someone as... filthy as you have to do with Miss Aya?" "She requested that I come see her," Kyusa replied calmly to the woman's snooty remark, handing her a small slip of paper. The woman walked over to the reception desk to have the note checked and verified. Kyusa wasn't at all upset by the reaction she recieved, just appearing at such a fancy place in her dirty, unwashed clothes. But she spent most of her time in the slums, so she could do little about it. The woman came back to the door with a disappointed look on her face. "Hmm... Alright. She's on th--" "Top floor. The door's to the right of the elevator. Yes, yes, I know. I've been to her penthouse before." Walking swiftly past the woman, Kyusa fought back the desire to whip around and tease the doorwoman with a gesture for being so rude and pompous towards her just because she was wearing raggedy clothing. Stopping opposite the elevators, she pressed the button and waited for her ride up the stairs. A few men passed by as she waited, staring at her as they did. She paid them no mind, or as little as she could. There was a soft 'ding' sound as the elevator reached the lobby floor. The doors opened and Kyusa quickly stepped in. ~~~ "I'm goin' to need you at the ball tonight." A thin young woman stood in front of a mirror in a metallic blue dress, fixing her earrings, while Kyusa was trying to balance on the woman's water bed. The woman turned towards the bed when she didn't get an answer. "You'll come, right?" "I doubt they will let me in, though, Aya. I do not pass for human very well, let alone a rich Neoristocrat, if you could not guess," Kyusa growled, pulling her hood down. Her face was covered in a thin layer of black fur, making her yellow eyes pop out even more in contrast. Her orange stripped ears twitched slightly as she pulled her fingers through her short, black hair. "I know that. But I don't need you to attend the ball. Just keep watch over it. Of course, it would be much easier sneaking you in with me if you hadn't grown fur..." Aya sighed. "Well then call up the bastards that made me this way and give them a piece of your mind!" Kyusa shouted. She was beginning to show her temper, something she tried to prevent as best she could. But before she could really get angry, Miss Aya placed a hand on her shoulder and stroked her head. "I'm sorry. I was only joking, but I guess I shouldn't have. But Kyusa, I need to know if you'll come to this ball. The idiot Mob thinks it's going to crash the party, but with you there, I know we can stop them from even getting to the front door." "... You know I am only helping you to find Brother, right? I have killed quite a few people for you, Aya, over the past few years, but you have yet to hold up your side of our agreement," Kyusa replied, her face emotionless. "I love you like a sister, Kyusa. I'm trying my best, but I still haven't found anything about your 'Brother'," Aya muttered, standing up quickly. Any mention of other Chimeras made her uneasy, Kyusa had noticed. It was to be expected, though. Aya had come to trust her, but the thought of more of her kind roaming around Neo Avalon was not a comforting one. "But I need you to tell me if you'll agree to come." Kyusa eyed her 'friend' closely. Aya did not make eye contact, and was pacing swiftly, something she didn't normally do. She was also extremely insistant on this matter, which was strange since she normally was just passing on requests from her more powerful Neoristocrat friends. But it seemed now like she was asking for herself. "... You will not tell--" "Anyone or anything. Your attending the party will be known only by me," Aya nodded, finally coming to a halt and staring straight at Kyusa. "Then I will be on alert throughout your little dance. Call me when you think I am needed. You have my number," Kyusa sighed reluctantly, standing up from the bed and walking towards the door. But as she headed for the exit, Aya grabbed her by the arm. "And what if... Kwi shows up?" "Do not be worried. It would take much more than a few petty crooks to exhaust me enough for her to emerge. I will keep watch over your friends' party without an unwanted guest appearance," Kyusa reassured her. Aya's grip relaxed as she placed a large envelope in the girl's hands, then watched her walk out the door. "Only a couple of hours, my dear. And then you'll have served your purpose, outlived your usefulness." The sound of a cell phone filled the room. Walking over to the dresser and grabbing her phone, Aya glanced at the number before she gazed out her window at the cold, lonely city that filled the view. "... And gotten your way out of this horrible place," she whispered before putting the phone up to her ear.
21. Tech felt her heart racing as she examined the five figures that stood menacingly above Augur. The possible end of the way of life as the Red Team and the rest of the world knew it had just walked through a mystical portal and was staring the five of them right in the face. They all knew that this was it. They had only one option, and that was to fight. But it was who they would be fighting that was so utterly bizarre, they could only stare in disbelief and worry. The only two words that came to mind as Tech watched an exact replica of herself (with a few adjustments) stand patiently beside the cloaked figure: ?******* freaky.? ?Ha, I know what you mean. But it?s insanely cool, isn?t it? Never thought this thing would be possible without technology.? One of the opposite beings had spoken, and the voice was frighteningly similar to her own, but it was also oddly robotic. The Anti-Tech?s grin quickly faded, and she fell silent once more. Tech?s curiosity was nagging at her, and the five Anti-Legionnaires knew she was there anyway, so she slowly walked to Augur?s side to get a closer look at them. Her own mirror being looked just like her, but with shorter, spikier hair and small metallic attachments around her right eye. It was just like looking at a puddle and seeing her reflection, only distorted slightly from the ripples of the water. Tech blinked a moment, only to realize that she was suddenly alone in another room all together the next. It took her only a second to grab one of the gadgets off her belt and point it at the Anti-Tech, who had been approaching from behind. ?Impressive,? she grinned. ?It?s hard for people to find me that quickly since they can?t hear me breathe.? ?So, you want to take me one on one, I?m guessing,? Tech replied, her face emotionless. This was too important for her normal cheerful approach to violence. Her opponent wouldn?t be thrown off guard by it this time anyhow. Without waiting for a response, Tech reached for a particular pocket on her belt that held a small gadget, capable of temporarily disabling any electronic or technological weaponry in a set radius. Even though it would leave her unarmed as well, it was better facing someone she knew nothing about with just fists rather than her own arsenal, that would most likely be outmatched, twenty to one. The sound of all her weapons and tools powering down only made Tech?s excited heart pump faster. This was frightening, and she had no idea if she could actually anything at all, but she?d try. Like Augur had said, Anti-Tech and the rest of her group would not be allowed to follow through with their plans. Whether or not he was capable of backing up that statement was yet to be proven. ?You?re stupid, you know that? You?re really, really stupid,? Anti-Tech began laughing loudly. ?That would make you stupid, too,? Tech replied quietly. But the Parallel either didn?t hear her or was ignoring her, and continued. ?I mean, why would you disable all of your weapons before a fight? You had me outgunned severely, yet you decided to make it all useless! It?s the stupidest move I could ever imagine you making! But, I?m guessing there must be some method to your madness. You are, or should be, a genius, after all. Tech was silent. She was positive it was only a bluff. ?Oh. You probably don?t get it yet,? continued the negative reflection, sensing Tech?s confusion. ?I don?t rely on weapons anymore because? well, I am a weapon. I killed myself about a year ago, after having perfected this shell. The only thing remaining from my original body is my brain.? ?Well, that explains the weird voice. But? your brain didn?t suffocate and lose massive amounts of brain cells during the transplant? How did you connect it to the control of your shell? thing?? Tech asked in awe. Any documented attempt of moving a brain from one body to another, whether living or not, was unsuccessful either because the procedure took too long and the brain became useless, or the brain was not separated and reconnected right. She had almost forgotten she was supposed to be killing the Anti-Tech. ?You know, I?d love to answer your questions, but I really should get on with killing you,? the cyborg replied. Tech suddenly found herself flying backwards, an intense pain in both her shoulders. She landed on the cold, marble floor, and heard the loud sound of footsteps. The strange part was, she had disabled all electronic devices nearby, and Anti-Tech was pretty much all electronic, but still, she was fully operational. There was little time to think about it, though, as her opposite was walking towards her to finish her off. Scrambling to stand up, her shoulders flared up in protest, forcing her to use a nearby exhibit as a crutch. She placed a hand on her right shoulder and pulled it back to see blood. ?What did you hit me with?? Her answer was a punch in the face. Stumbling backwards a few steps, she readjusted her jaw with a sickening crack. ?Bolts. I keep a couple in my belt. My arms move much faster than a regular human?s, so it was easy to pull one out and throw it at you without you seeing me do anything,? she explained, still advancing on the Legionnaire. Tech was grabbed around the neck and thrown at one of the glass cases on the wall, making a loud crashing noise as her body shattered the glass and brought the case down to the ground, bringing other exhibits down with it as well. Spitting out blood, Tech struggled again to stand up. She wasn?t cut out for this kind of fighting. She relied on her gadgets, and she had made them useless a couple of minutes ago. ?You know, this is kind of disappointing. I expected you to be at least a decent challenge rather than a rag doll,? Anti-Tech sighed, a fake upset look on her face. ?Bite me,? Tech growled, once again on her feet. ?My weapons may be disabled, but I can still unplug you.? ?HA. Like I?d give you enough time to analyze my schematics.? ?Too late,? came her smug reply. Anti-Tech?s eyes widened slightly, flashing her worry. Tech was grinning wide now. Cracking her opponent?s over-confident shell was all it would take to win this. ?You?ve got four weak spots. One is a loose joint in your right shoulder. Hitting that would take your entire right arm off,? she began. Anti-Tech lunged at her, as if hitting her hard enough would make her forget. But she was clumsy, so she was easily countered. Tech grabbed her parallel?s right arm and struck the top of the shoulder with her elbow. Like she had said, the entire arm came off in her hands while the rest of Anti-Tech continued into a pile of debris she had made earlier. ?Another two are at your hips. Hitting either one would detach your lower half.? ?You won?t get a chance at them,? Anti-Tech replied, her face emotionless. There was a small noise before her belt quickly encased itself in a thick metal coat and a button popped out of her left hand. ?This is a slightly barbaric way of doing things, but I?d rather see your guts than my bolts. Say bye-bye now.? Tech raised an eyebrow, her eyes locked on the belt and button. ?And the last spot,? she continued, as if Anti-Tech hadn?t said anything at all, ?is a small port on one of your temples, though it?s hidden by your ?hair?. If anything were to hit or get into it, the result would be your brain popping like a balloon. Within a millisecond, your ?perfect? shell would become spare parts.? ?You won?t be able to reach it in time, my dear counterpart. You see, I plan to turn you inside out?? ?Yeah, yeah. I got that. That button launches something that will do it, right? And that belt will instantly contain me in some shield so that only I am affected by your whatever-it-is. But see, I?ve fried it. Even if you?re still operational ? who knows why ? any separate gadgets you have, like your belt, are now useless. And they will be for approximately another five minutes,? Tech replied grimly. ?You?re bluffing.? ?If you?re so sure, press the button. Let?s see how your leader likes it when he finds out you turned everyone in the museum, including him, inside out.? Despite Anti-Tech?s confident statements, her hand didn?t move. ?You were right about one thing, though,? Tech chuckled, pulling a small box out of her pocket. ?And what?s that?? Anti-Tech asked warily, readying herself to press the button. The box shook violently in Tech?s hand before shooting out of sight for a moment and reappearing on the side of Anti-Tech?s face, on top of her left temple. Before she could react, the box shrunk and entered the small port, attaching itself to the inside and sending an electrical shock through it. A second later, there was a soft ?thunk?, and Anti-Tech?s shell collapsed. ?I was bluffing.? Tech took a step towards the way out of the room, but almost fell over. She was finally starting to feel the strain on her body. The adrenaline had kept her from hurting much, but it was over, and the rush was gone. Her shoulders had been bleeding the whole time, and she was starting to feel woozy. Her legs were ready to fall apart beneath her, and her readjusted jaw was aching horribly. And to make matters worse, Anti-Tech had teleported the two of them to a random room., leaving her with no idea where in the museum she was. ?****,? she grumbled. Leaning on whatever she could find, she made her way to the hallway out of the remote room. ?I need to work out..? she thought quietly to herself, frustrated with her body being so fragile.
22. I love this idea. It reminds me of an RPG I did with a similar idea. Gotta sign up. ;3 Name: Kyusa/Kwi Gender: Female Age: 19 Caste: Chimera - Panthera tigris Hybrid Appearance: Kyusa is the surviving female tiger hybrid, made obvious by the colored fur that covers her body, ears and tail. Kyusa's fur is very different compared to the other chimeras who had tiger genes, since it covers her entire body (though she still has short, black, human hair coming out of her head) instead of just patches. And her fur is jet black with orange stripes, rather than the conventional tiger's fur. Her ears rest at the top of her head, popping out of her sleek hair, and her tail sneaks out of holes she has to cut in her large baggy pants and curls up under her hoodie to keep from sight. Her fingers and toes have small pads underneath them, and her finger and toenails have turned into claws that are retractable or extendable at will. Kyusa dresses in her large hoodies, usually wearing the hood up, baggy pants, black gloves and sneakers. She wears such clothing to hide her tiny, scarred, mutated figure from the onlookers, who she knows would more likely than not attack her when she did not do as she was made to do once they discovered what she was. The only physical changes that occurs when Kyusa submits to Kwi is that her smooth jet black hair spikes, her ears become more pointed rather than round, and her tail refuses to stay hidden, and becomes very crooked. Personality: Kyusa is extremely intelligent, and talks very dignified. If you heard her talk without seeing her face, you would have thought her to be one of the most thoroughly educated Neoristocrats you would ever meet. However, this analytical genious melts away once she is frightened or extremely nervous. She becomes a terrified little child in the body of a teenage chimera, also known as Kwi. Kwi is Kyusa's other personality. She can also take over whenever Kyusa is put under a lot of stress, or when she is very happy or excited. Kwi is just as hyper and annoying as she is timid and easily frightened. Surprisingly, Kwi is out a lot, though Kyusa spends much of her time trying to learn how to suppress her. Weapons/Skills: Kyusa fights as if she is close to mastering over a hundred different fighting techniques, while using them all at once with her own special 'spin' on them when executed. She is not gifted with enhanced strength, so she must outmanuever and outwit whoever it is she is fighting, rather than knock them out with her best left hook. On the other hand, Kwi is, to be blunt, a mess when it comes to fighting. Though she is endowed with the same excellent hunting equipment that Kyusa uses (her enlarged fangs, claws, enhanced sight, hearing and balance, etc.), she hasn't the slightest clue as to how they should be applied in battle. She is still a fantastic runner, though, and that is what keeps her from getting herself killed. Strangely, the roles seem to reverse during fighting situations, as Kwi is replaced with Kyusa when she becomes a hopeless wreck. Writing Example: It is quiet. Mornings are always quiet, but this is different. I can smell the difference in the silence. I have wondered for a while if I am gifted with empathy, for I can almost always sense the range of emotions that have passed as I have slept. It is a ritual for me to wake up and take a deep breath, then analyze what I inhale. But this is different. Scary, even. I can smell joy, but at the same time, rage and fear. What is the most profound difference.. is the smell of blood. One does not require empathy to smell that. Brother is wide awake at my side. I call him Brother, but we are not related. We have been raised together like a pair of siblings, so I know him only as such. I am sure he views me the same way. I wish to always be at his side. It is him that keeps me here. Keeps me surfaced. Once I am fully submerged in fear, stress or fatigue, I cannot controll my body. I, Kyusa, am replaced with Kwi. As she watches me, I am forced to watch her. I cannot express to you what a strange feeling it is to watch yourself move and act, but have no part in controlling where you are moving or how you are acting. Brother does not understand fully, either, but he helps keep Kwi submerged. "... and the entire pack is missing, as well. They left thirty people dead on their escape, either scientists or security." The silence is interrupted. I miss the first couple of sentences, but I can easily hear the rest. There are voices. Somebody is stopping near our cell. I recognize one of the voices. Klueger is his name. He is one of the scientists that monitors Brother and myself. I have listened to his talking to me. He tells me things he admits that he has not told anyone else. He laughs when he tells me he thinks of me as his own sister and pet at the same time. Had he not helped turn me into such an abomination, I might find him pleasant company. "How many does that leave, Klueger?" "With Freya and all four wolf experiments gone, only the two tigers and grizzly hybrids are left, sir." Sir. Klueger calls him Sir. He must be another one of the superiors that comes to see the 'experiments' and watch their demonstrations. Let it be known that all of the sirs are, in fact, completely useless, dimwitted tools used by the higher ups to make sure the scientists are not getting out of hand. But I do not see why they do this. The scientists take pride in their work, and they view us as their latest projects. "They could hunt down the escapees, right?" "S-Sir? We can't do that! These new breeds are too intelligent to be let free! The ones that have escaped will not come back, and the remaining will not be swayed to obey with a flashy suit or badge!" Klueger is foolish to burst out like this against Sir, even though he speaks the truth. It will not do any good. Were I to be released, I would doubtlessly stay far away from this place, though I do not know how long I would last with my condition. But I continue to listen, and as I predicted, Sir refuses to listen to Klueger's advice. "Listen, you! What I say goes down here, alright? I say we use the kittens and teddy bear to hunt down the lizard and dogs, so we will!" I can feel my muscles tensing at the sound of Sir's voice. I want to make him pay for disrespecting me. For disrespecting Brother. Thinking of him, I glance around my cell to look at him but Brother is not there. I pause, feeling the fur on the back of my neck beginning to bristle. Something bad is going to happen. Actually... Not extremely bad. Just different. Scary. I can handle it. Brother appears at my side. "I'm going for it. Follow me, Kyusa." Foolish Brother. I understand now. While I slept, the rest of us were escaping. Brother remained behind for me. Had he not waited, he could have escaped. I do not mind remaining here. The tests are no longer painful after the hundredth time. 'Stay asleep Kwi. I don't need you now. Stay asleep...' The glass breaks. Brother has leapt out of the cell, and I follow with no hesitation. I see Klueger's bloody body on the ground with large glass shards in his chest. He is not dead, but he is dying. Brother did not mean it, though. He is sorry, Klueger. I know he is. "This way, Kyusa! The exit is--" He is cut off when he slams into a metal door and a red light begins flashing above us. They were surprised when the first of us escaped. But they are ready for Brother and me. We are cornered between their forces and the big metal emergency door. "Stay Kyusa. C'mon... Don't leave me to fight these men alone." Brother is referring, of course, to the foot soldiers hired by this horrid organization to keep us under control should we escape. We can hear their footsteps, though they are not due to pop into sight for another sixty seconds. I try to speak, but I can only make low growling noises. And then I see it. A corridor just off to our right, but the men are coming closer. I can smell their sweat. Only fourty seconds. I do not even have to say a word before Brother understands. He would prefer to stay and slaughter the poor idiot henchman coming our way, but he knows that it would be smarter to run now, and run fast. And then, the fear. As we are running towards the corridor, we can see the men. A few dismal yards away is a legion of fifty or so young men with large spear-like tools, which will most definately hurt. I try to concentrate on Brother and the end of the corridor, but I am starting to slip... "Kyusa! Don't slow down now! We're almost out..." His voice begins to fade. I'm submerging. I am tired. I am worried. I am afraid. I am... Awake. I am still surfaced. I will stay surfaced. I pick up speed and run close with Brother. He is smiling wide, as if he was not worried at all. I envy him. The small army of ragtag security are no match for our enhanced abilities. They are no longer a threat to us within mere seconds. Brother chooses which turns we take, and I do not doubt his decisions. He turns a corner, and I follow, but I am forced to skid to a halt. "The sky..." The words pass over my lips, echoing with exhaustion. I am tired, but happy. Kwi is bound to take over any moment. I rarely speak anymore, even when I want to. Kwi is a better talker to begin with, so it matters little. I want to thank Brother before I submerge, but I am stopped at the sight of him crying. It is unbelievable. Such a small, insignificant stream of water falling down his scarred cheek... But it means so much. "Thank you, Brother." I whisper my thanks as I feel myself slipping away again. I will not stay surfaced this time, as I did while running. Brother will carry Kwi on his back and run. Run far away from this place. I know he will. He wouldn't abandon us. Not now. But... As I am slipping, feeling my control of my body weakening, I see him slowly walk away. He is running. Why? Then... I am alone. No, that's not true. There is Kwi. She will do what she thinks is best. Run. But where will she run? I have not been over taken by Kwi in over four years. I have had no need for her. What will she do? Is she any different? I can only watch, as I have always watched. --- OOC: Kind of a weird character (yes, she is schizophrenic), and if there are any problems, let me know. I don't mind having to edit anything.
23. I actually have a cameo! o: *happyhappy* And I live with Stuie! :'D *happyhappier* I'm loving this story more and more, my Annieness. But me no likey cliffhangers... *impatient*
24. Ah, Bikini Bandits... Good times, good times. And I also remember Baron commenting on my banner. xD He's at it again, the horny fiend! *lightning* But yes, I'm loving the Bandits' return (especially since my very own Stuie's playing such an important role in the story!! x3). It's written really well, and though I miss the random funniness, such as Corey's speedo (no matter how many shudders we all felt afterwards), the new style is just as good, if not better. So hurrah to you, Annie, for bringing this back. ^o^ I can't wait for the next chapter!
