Odd name, great band. Just wondering if anybody has heard of them, and what you think about them. I personally really like them, but of course I just heard about them. The lyrics are strong and are quite poetic, in most cases. These guys have been around since about '97 and have stuck it out for 13 albums and EP's. So they aren't all that new. Anwyas I anna know what anyone else thinks about them. ^^

meh. I tried. I couldn't find a font color to go with it. I liked your idea though. Only having one part in its original color. Neatness. And yes, that yellow if the original color. His sweater thing was orange and only had 4 diamonds yellow. The 4th got cut out. I hope you like it. Please don't hesitate to tell me if you want anything changed.

I really really liked the last guy they had. I thought his voice worked really well for the sound they created. I don't know where they are gonna go with it now. :confused:

Wow. Semjazza...that was quite possibly the most eloquent way I have ever heard/read of someone being put in their place. ^^ Anyways, I have heard of Bad Brains. I'm really glad you mentioned them. I was not aware that they were black though. That's kind of cool. Thanks for today's history lesson.^^ I'm really surprised no one has mentioned the AKA's. I've just recently gotten in to these guys and have found them really good. The vocals are good, and most of the songs are about having good times without the booze and such. Pretty good message if I do say so myself. Now this thread has gotten me to wondering if anyone has ever heard of Bury Your Dead. I'm not sure if they have been up north, but I do know they have been on tour down south and on the Atlantic coast. These guys are definitly worth checking out. A lot of their songs are about having fun at shows and such. Plus the guys are really nice. Oh yeah! Holy crap! It looks like you used loads of filters for that. But my oh my does it look amazing. It reminds me of this futuristic-metropolis swept up in the wind. I absolutely love how you can see those bar-like structures in a few random places. Almost as if they are trying to break free, but can't. Towards the bottom right it looks like a set of railroad tracks and a big black train just barely coming around a curve. The swipes of lighter red add to the entire hazy effect of the piece. Needless to say, I love this. It leaves everything to the imagination. Instead of creating one focal point, you have added many different places that could be called the "central theme" of the piece, but you also leave it up to the viewer to decide which place they believe is the center. Possibilities are endless. This is my new favorite piece here. ^^ May I ask what the original inspiration was?

Holy crap, Mitch. That was great. You keep writting story after story, poem after poem, and they are all great. The description here was insanely awesome. I like how you put everything when speaking of the monster. I could feel his breath, see his arm, see him in all his gigantic glory. Regardless of how long it was and all the big words, it all fit like a puzzle. Yes, one grand puzzle that traps you in its center, then builds itself around you. I like how you did that. And the Julius Caesar reference was brilliant. I never would have compared the monster and words to Cassius and Caesar. Yet it fits exactly. I would, however, like to add that I am amazed that you took a piece that described your "monster of words" and you love for it and made the point that we all have monsters of our own and are pretty much stuck with them until we die. Needless to say....I love this piece, perhaps more than any other.

First off....That first one....That she....is a HE! Indeed it is! HE runs by the name Ashurei. At least I am 95% sure it is a guy. ^__^' Anyways... The first one: I'm not feelin' that font. I thought it was just symbol things. I can't read it well. It looks kind of cool though. ALso the globe is lop-sided. Neat looking, but lop-sided. And just one silly little thing. On his hair to the right down by his shoulder. There is just a block of white where the hair should be. Just look all around the hair and you will see. #2: IT is unproportional. THat's all I can say. The one on the far left should be down some and to the right. He is cut off a bit. I would put the center guy in about the exact center. You don't really need Ashurei's hand do you? I would move them all over to the right. Also the guy on the far left looks a tad smaller than the others. They are both big, but he is kind of small (*slaps self* x__x me and my perverted mind). I would have never thought to put the 3 of them together... #3: Hmmm.... For starters there is this big whtie rim around most of him. The text isn't too good either. Like you said, the font isn't too fiting. BUt the actual quote is nice. I really like that background and the filter. Very nice. Nice work Katana! I like that first one. How in the world did you do that ball of stuff?!? It looks uber-neat. ^^

Heehee. I'm very glad I found this thread. It's conversion time. ^__~ Just kiddin'. There are A LOT of bands in here that I agree with, but there are a few I don't. Honestly, if you want some good stuff, follow what Olga and Semjazza said. I would go for Blood Brothers, Further Seems Forever (*cries at teh broken-up-ness*), mewithoutYOU, Modest Mouse, Coheed and Cambria, AFI, and various others. If you are trying to get deeper into punk/emo stuff, I would avoid all the mainstream stuff such as All American Rejects, Simple Plan (not punk), Good Charlotte (not even close to punk), Dashboard Confessional (unless you go for the old stuff. His cover of Weezer's "Jamie" rocked.), or Minor Threat (*shudder*). Some stuff I might recommend are the following: (Please note that I will probably give you the names of quite a few bands that are not punk, but something else. They might just fit with you and your style. Don't knock 'em till you try 'em. ^__^) [b]Rooney: [/b]I completely contridict myself here. They are simi-mainstream, but good none-the-less. The are kind of tech-ed out, but still have catchy songs and good music. [b]The Get Up Kids: [/b]An oldie, but a goodie. The Get Up Kids were probably the first indie-punk band I got into. Well....I don't know what to classify them as. I just know that I like them. They are catchy in an odd sort of way. Their singer isn't really all that on pitch. ^__^ But he still rocks. [b]Boys Night Out:[/b] These guys are more hardcore. They are really good though. But if you are female...which I will assume you are... don't pay attention to the lyrics. It's all kind of love-dovey...in a hardcore way. BUt he mainly talks about killing/harming all the various women he loves at the time. Kind of odd really... [b]Against Me: [/b]In my opinion, the original punk band. They NEVER sing about girls, love, and all that mess. Just shows, good times, and life. I love them. They are really easy to listen, plus you get a little message thrown in there. [b]Glassjaw: [/b]Ahhh....Glassjaw. How pretty. A bit of singing here. A touch of screaming there. And you get the lovely-ness that is Glassjaw. [b]Glasseater:[/b] Not a lot of people have heard of these guys. I think they are from South Carolina. Could be wrong. But they have these crazy guitar songs. THey have just an ity-bity bit of screaming. But they also have sing-a-longs. Not to mention they are amazing live. ^^ [b]Auto Pilot Off: [/b]I've only heard a little bit from these guys, but from what my brother says, they rock. The lead singer has a very punk sounding voice. [b]The Movie Life: [/b]I know even littler (is that a word?) about these guys. I have heard 2 songs. But I did love those 2 songs. Once again, my brother says they rock. He listens to every single band in the whole wide world. Crazy, huh? [b]Moving Units:[/b] Now these guys, I know. They are really really really really really really good. They do have a some tech in them though. But it only adds to the greatness. Their vocals are really smooth. It's just this voice I could listen to all day long. I particurly like it when the guy goes WAY up high. It's insane, yet still sounds good. [b]Hot Hot Heat:[/b] I'm surprised no one mention them. They are simi-punk. I can't really classify bands all that well. But they have 3 or 4 CD's that are all really good. They have been around for a while now. I'm sorry that my post doesn't have quite the details that Semjazza's does, but then...whose posts are ever as good as his? Not mine, that's for sure. I usually hear a band, then d/l some of their stuff, then I say "OOOh OOOH goooood stuff." And I tell people about them. I am really picky about my music so I think all of these guys are pretty good. I hope you at least try a few of them.

heh. That's pretty nice. The color you tinted it looks light and mellow. gooooood stuff. Who is that a picture of? He looks nifty. There are really only two problems. The first being the text being cut off. It really takes away from the pretty-ness. But may I note, the small glow-like thing around the text looks really smooth. PRoblem #2 is probably more important that anything else. It is way to big. By 32 pixels may I add. You need to fix that if you wish to use it in your sig, which it seems you do. Standard size is 500 x 100. Yours is 450 x 132. You absolutely must fix that. Great work though. I hope to see more.

It looks like it says "clap" in a modern kind of way. I don't know why, but I love this one. It's simple, yet cool. I like the colors too. There isn't much to say about it. It's just squares. Very interesting concept though. Nice work Baron.

I, too, would like to see this movie. As a person that really doesn't belong to any religeon, but was brought up Baptist, I think it would be interesting. I have read the bible when it talks about Jesus and his life down here. (What Baptist hasn't?) And I think that in all of the movies I have seen that show Jesus' life, this one might just be closest to what the bible says is truth. I mean, in all the other movies, everyone graciously accepts Jesus, and they all line up to convert and love him. But in the bible, this was not the case. Jesus was persecuted. He was hurt even more by Jews and Romans and whoever else when he stated he is the son of God. Who wouldn't freak out if someone said that? The miracles didn't help much either. So if this movie shows the truth of what Jesus went through, why wouldn't the Jews be upset? For christ sakes (pardon the expression x__x) they [i]wanted[/i] him to be crucified. Pontious Pilate left the decision to the crowd. And who was in the crowd? Jews, Romans, and everyone else. So in essence they actually chose to crucify him. I would be upset too if I were told that my ancestors had crucified Jesus. It should not just offend Jews. Shouldn't the people of Roman decent be upset too? Shouldn't those people whose ancestors also lived in Jeruselum feel upset? Please keep in mind, I have not actually seen the movie. I intend to. I have read lots and lots about it on the internet, and feel that I have gotten the gist of what it is/will be about. Also I am sorry to anyone who feels offended by anything I said. E D I T: May I also add a bit. Mel Gibson is an awesome director. I watched his interpretation of Hamlet by Shakespeare, and it rocked. His interpretation of this should be pretty interesting.

So this thread will be dedicated to all the web graphics I have made. Most of them I have made for various new layouts for myOtaku. They are all from various pictures I have found off of the internet. I love them all so much. I think I will start out with my butterfly lady one. ^^ It took me two days to find a color font that looked good. C & C if you please.

Well, for starters it is too big by 2 pixels. ^^ The eyes really look cool. I don't like all the dark blue though. I dunno why, it just looks a bit dark. Also I'm not liking that blurr effect on the text...or the text for that matter. It hurts my eyes. Oh yes...it needs a border! ^__^ I think if you lightened it up a tad it would look really awesome. Not much...but just enough so that you can make out more of the shadow on Sasuke's face. OR you could even change the background color....hmmm...might look interesting. The more I look at them, the cooler those eyes get. Did you do that to them, or did they come like that? Either way they look really good. Nice work. P.S. Better not let our Sasuke hear that comment about the actual Sasuke not being cool or else our Sasuke will get all angry that you called the real Sasuke un-cool. ^^ Hope you got that!

I have a problem with viewing the quiz results. I see on everyone else's sites that at the bottom of the site their quiz results are shown. I cannot get mine to show. When I go to my quiz manager, it says that both of the quiz results I saved are on display. Problem is, when I go to my site, they aren't there. I have tried hiding them, then displaying them again, but it isn't working. I'm not really sure what's up with it. Perhaps you know?

Awww...that poor avi...never to see the light of day again? poor it. I love them Sennen. I think my favorite would be number 1. I like how there are 2 layers to it....kind of like one of them is thinking of the other...but not. ^^ I do agree that the logo got fuzzy. It is also a bit too small to read. THat is really the only thing wrong with any of them. Number 2 has me in a conflict. I think there should be a border on all banners, but on this one....it just wouldn't look right. It would box it in too much. So I would just tell Azure that it has a white border. x__x I love the third one. It looks kind of dark and mysterious. Sulky in a way too. It looks great. ANd you pretty much already said everything for the avitars. You know, when you comment on your stuff, it messes stuff up for us that comment. *nods* All I did was really rephrase a bit of yours and a touch or two more than what you said.

MODEST MOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!! *squeels like a rapid fan-girl* Heehee. I love them. I love the banner. The face that you can just barely see looks great. But what is that thing on the side? It looks funny. I think that the colors you used go excellent with the whole Modest Mouse feel. The colors are very mellow and soft. All of the effects you put over all of the pictures look great. They fit well together. I mean, the whole freakin' banner fits together. ^__^ That's the best way to describe it: it fits together. And I thought I liked your last banner...

wow. That was good. Short, but good. I could perfectly imagine Curt's distant manner from the ways he spoke and the ways you described him. My only problem was that I didn't get that same thing from Jacob. I didn't really have that understanding of his character. Meh. Just my opinion though. It knotted up my gut when you put that part in there about him checking to see if the shotgun was loaded or not. Yet even when I knew it was coming, I still felt shock when he actually killed Jacob. Excellent work with that, Shin. ^__^

*sigh* Everyone hates me so no one would comment on that last banner. >__< I tried white, Baron. It is completely unreadable. The background is already so light and white so it doesn't work. I agree with you that the text is too thick, though. I'm not sure why it turned out so thick. I'm pretty sure it wasn't that thick before. Ah well. Thanks for your help. I will probably post back the edited version (el numero 3) later on. So before this one, I changed it to my current mO heading banner. BUt no one commented so I changerated it again! yay! I got back into making wallpapers recently becuase of the need to put something on my poor empty deviantart account. I have gotten good comments on all of them, yet I don't feel complete. I want to know how I can fix them. So for starters I will post my Nemian wallpaper. For those of you who don't know who Nemian is, he is from War of Genesis, hence the War of Genesis text on teh paper. ^^ This was kind of like a test wallpaper. I just did random things to it to see how it would turn out. That blue squiggly-doo, in my opinion, steals the show. ^__^ I like it better than I like anything else. I just messed around with the line drawer and came up with it. Hope you like it too.
