All benders got them. With Roku so did Sozin, with Aang so did all the other Air nomads, and as for badger moles I don't recall any earth bender persay walk around with one. Aside from Toph who learned how to bend from them.
The problem with .hack as an anime is that it expects you to play the games to get the full story, so on its own the anime only manages to range from decent to bad. I really wanted to love .hack since the story and setting is very interesting, but only half the story comes in animated form and I'm not willing to dump tons of hours into the games to get the rest. So when you add that on top of the other problems the anime have (mainly terrible pacing), you get a lot of negative opinions that probably wouldn't have been quite so negative if everything hadn't been split up between anime and games. Anyway, I've come to realize that pretty much every good magical girl series that isn't Cardcaptor Sakura or Lyrical Nanoha is underrated. It seems like there's this tiny niche audience that appreciates them while everyone else ignores them completely.
As far as I saw it, the first season was independant from the games. I mean I watched it and it explained a bit of the game while also showing the problems, worries, and troubles of the main character. It was from this season that I grew interested in the franchise. Once I hit season two though it felt like a major if not EXTREME gap between the two. Making it feel like you HAD to play the games to get up to date on the series. It took me off a bit, I didn't even watch the 2nd season. I want to but it is a little hard NOW to find the games, play the games (which I am pretty sure each one is like a rpg length (80-100 hours) for me anyways since I am a 100% whore. (I apologize if that type of language is deemed inappropriate in that text) But ya I like the series and I don't think it is very mainstream possibly because of the aforementioned thoughts on it. Another series that was short that I loved and I don't think it was viewed in Mainstream now (although I might be mistaken) Trinity Blood, Bastard!!!, Beserk, and possibly the first Hellsing attempt (Not the OVA) due to the fact it went completely off course from the Manga.

*Insert fan nerdgasm* Ahem. I did not know about this. I would watch this show, buy the dvds and watch those a thousand times if they did it exactly like Avatar: The Last Airbender. This looks good. No wait. Amazing compared to the alternative (I am looking at you The Last Airbender) Seriously I am looking forward to this. Now I have to go tell my friends who loved the series.

My desktop normally gets changed into the current game I have nerdgasms over. Currently it is this:
I have a Dell GX280 desktop who's hard drive failed. We put in a new hard drive and now we can't reinstall Windows XP Home. According to the Geek Squad at Best Buy, we need to call Dell and purchase all the Recovery disk needed for the computer. Is there another alternative besides going to Dell?
I don't know if you got this fixed already but the so called Geek Squad is dead wrong. Windows OS cds come with the ability to reformat and install their software without the need of a Recovery Disk. A recovery Disk is provided IN the Windows Disk as you are able to create one (Back up) once you sign in the OS after installation. If you have a legit OS disk all you need to do is insert it and then start your pc. Or in the most cases insert disk, restart, then when at the bios screen hit F12 and choose the CD\DvD drive to run it. From there you just follow the prompt to install the OS. I am ashamed to hear the Geek Squad for even saying that.... Did they even go to school before getting hired?
Ah, okay. It probably is the router, then. The netbook is apparently just better at picking the connection back up. And you can't swap wireless cards that are built in, so forget that. If it were the kind that plugged into a slot in the laptop, then it would be simple. Anyway, first I'd make sure there's nothing around the router that could be causing interference. Then I'd take a look at the router's wireless settings and try tweaking stuff to see if anything has an effect. (If you don't know what the settings mean, now's a good time to learn. Wikipedia knows all.) Like, if you're using encryption, try disabling it and seeing if that makes a difference, or try changing the basic rate, etc. But it may just be that your router's wireless is crapping out.
A good suggestion. Also what could be the problem is that the Router might be out of date. The Firmware might need to be updated. I had the same problem with my own router where my laptop would lose connection randomly as well as the other computers connected wirelessly.

Manga U.S. & Japan Bring Down the Banhammer on Pirates
Burori replied to Kei's topic in Otaku Central
I know this may come off as a little immature but I lul at their reaction to the Pirating. I mean seriously, they are not the only company to be affected by Pirates. Look at the music industry. Pirates have been fought time and time again but they still continue to do whatever they wish and no matter how much push to shove the industry does they still come out of it. Movies and tv shows also are being pirated for the people. All because the Internet is not being controlled. Should it be controlled? I should say not. It isn't a tool that only one man or woman or organization should have an monopoly of, it is a collection of freedom of speech from all sides of the globe. Is Pirating bad? Of course it is. Is there a single person out there that NEVER stole something, (digital or otherwise) I am pretty sure the answer to that is no. Pretty much I say to these companies: AVAST YE LAND LUBBERS! YE WILL NEVER SLAY THE KRAKEN! Or something along that extent. -
I am a little busy at the moment so I will make this a little brief. I am PSYCHED for Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep. It looks awesome even for a a PSP game, the game play looks the same, and the best part is that two voice actors from opposite sides of the Star Wars\Star Trek Geek fandom are going to be in it. [s]Spock[/s] Leonard Nemoy is playing Master Xehanort and [s]Luke Skywalker[/s] Mark Hamil is playing Master Eraqus. Forgive me for being a little geeked out from this but I love it. A lot.

I only joined back in 2003. We may have had a few discussions in the forums possibly and I may or may not remember heh. I went by the name I re-entered in as currently. I too decided to come back. Also on the topic of growing up on this forum I couldn't`t say that the concept is frightening. I found Otakuboards back in the days (wow did I just say that?) mature and although it was not always this way, posts were structured to a reasonable extent despite the age of the posters. What I have noticed though lately is that there are quite a few more younger generation of internet users who make decent posts comparing to the elder generations where the posts consisted of: OMGZ DIDS YU SEE DAT???? Ahem, but ya. It feels good checking back every once in a while. I barely recognized the forums today logging in heh. I do notice a few familiar faces right now on this thread so those who might remember me. *Waves* Also I was an avid RPer in the day and I still have the spark so you might see me show up in the threads every once in a while. Might jump back onto the bandwagon depending on my free time.

Walking into the theatres to see this movie I expected two things. The first I expected to see a movie that I grew up on, one that would bring back that old feeling the other movies did. The second being, I wanted to see Buzz and Woody back in the game doing what they do best. And I was not disappointed. I won't go into detail of the movie since that would be spoiling the whole experience. I couldn't and didn't care less about the 3D elements that they SUPPOSEDLY had in the game. It really didn't improve or cause any damage to the film's enjoyment factor. It seems that 3D movies is all the rage and Disney\Pixar wanted to stay in that race with the technology. To each is their own I suppose. Overall I got exactly that what I wanted. I felt like I was 10 years younger watching the movie. The music is still in there, the lovable cast is still in there, the comedy is still in there, and sad to say, I cried at the end. It was touching, made me feel exactly how I would in the given situation. I give Pixar a thumbs up for once again making an excellent movie. They have not let me down in making a good quality film. I only wish some other film companies would take their example in story quality heh. But I guess that is too much to ask.
For PSP I'm playing through FFVII: Crisis Core for my first time and am extremely impressed thus far. It inspires old feelings reminiscent of the original game and combines new ones as well. Story is great so far, visual presentation is fantastic, and the combat system is cool once you get adjusted and into the groove.
To follow up on that previous comment. I just recently bought a PSP and Crisis Core. The reasons for me to decide to buy a PSP however falls entirely on two different games, Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth and the upcoming (hopefully) Kingdom Hearts game that is coming out on the PSP (hopefully in North America as well) So far I am impressed with Crisis Core as well as the remake of Valkyrie Profile. As well as many of the features that are on the PSP.

Where to start... First off I am playing Kingdom Hearts 2 on my PC. I own the game mind you and I own a PS2 but I have no TV so I need to play it on my Laptop until I can get a TV. As well as Team Fortress 2 (SO MUCH BLOOD!) An amazing first person shooter that is very cartoony and holds a lot of humour in it regardless of the simple fact that whichever team you are on you kill the other team. Left 4 Dead: As well another amazing F.P.S. That I have so far enjoyed the purchase of 14 dollars (Gotta love those random discounts on Steam) A fun survival against the Zombies. Lately someone made a Legend of Zelda map (You might like it Des if you are still around here :P) Dawn of War Titles: There really isn't one that hasn't taken my time away. World of Goo: A fun and amusing puzzle game that consists with, Goo of course. Fallout 3: Very fun R.P.G./Action game, the Fallout series has not failed me in entertainment. Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion: Same as the before mentioned R.P.G./action game. There are way too many games to continue on from here, also to clarify, yes these games are all on my Laptop :) I love my new baby.

I searched through the forums carefully for this subject but seeing as there is none I thought I would take a few moments of your time to talk to you all about this movie, Dragonball: Evolution. I know I have not been on this forums for a long while, those that would remember me would more then likely remember my old signin name which was Burori. Those that never met me I wave my hand to you all with a smile. That having been said. I took 1 hour and 25 minutes out of my day to watch this movie. I must say as a vivid fan of the Dragonball/Z/(enjoyed GT but not entirely) I must say that this movie managed to make me feel disappointed to a level that only Dragonball Z Movie 11 (Bio-Burori) managed to do in all the shows and movies I have seen of this franchise. A friend of mine told me that if I wanted to watch this movie I should watch it with an open mind, forgetting everything that I learned from the original Manga and Anime. I thought 'Sure ok. I can do that.' Then I watched the movie and for the life of me the story lingered with me and I kept compairing the two. I grew up with the Dragonball franchise. I enjoyed it, a good story, somewhat original, made by the talented Akira Toriyama. It was a story of a boy whom came to Earth from a world that was destroyed. He grew up with a loving grandfather, who took care of him like he was his own son, until well... I won't say anything that would spoil the original story element if there are anybody reading this right now that has not seen the series. The movie is like a alternate reality of the story. Everything that they showed in the movie never happened in the anime or the Manga. Don't get me wrong I understand that when a movie is made a few changes are required as it happens in any film. But what they did was completely removed the entire basis of the story and just kept minor things like the names, and a few minor items like the Dragonballs themselves. Overall I was very ashamed of this movie. Like I said earlier I bring it to level with the 11th DBZ Movie that they made. I would like to hear what other people would like to say about it. Please keep it constructive and professional. No 'I hated it' or 'it sucks' please. I would like to hear why you liked or disliked it and the reasons to support that comment. Thank you for your time and have a great day.

I'd give mine out as well.. if I could only figure out how to plug it into the net... I'm broke so I can't buy the wireless stuff, and I dont have a wireless router.

In any case this game is a must buy. It is very entertaining, the Final Smashes are fun as heck. You have to literally fight to get it. Just that there struggling to get the ball to do your finishing attack, and use it against your opponents is satisfying. I enjoyed playing this game emmensly (sp?). This will be a very fun game, and the online value? Through the roof!
-
I'm not saying the game is horrible. Far from it. It has a great entertainment factor in it. But hear this: Yesterday I went to a Smash Bros. Tournament here in quebec. There was the two best players in all of CANADA and I played against them in Brawl. I won every match. In Melee however the mopped the floor off of me.
-
So I just came home from playing Smash Brawl. I for one am not 100% impressed by it's difficulty. If there are some here who liked Melee because of it's gameplay and enjoyed wave dashing. Let's just say Brawl is a game for fun and not for skill. Definately a buy for those who love Smash Bros. Just not a skills game. Fyi Captain Falcon is awesome :P

Hiya Folks. Doubt most people would know/remember me. I recently tested this game myself as well as have my name in the credits at the end. It is called Call of Juarez. It is a shooter based in the Old West. I will not spoil anything in the story which I found it to be fairly decent. The game consists of two Main characters. The Priest and the Mexican male. I found the controls to be very smooth as well as the game in mulitplayer is extremely enjoyable. The new features in this is the ability to fight against eachother on horseback and the controls for the horses could not be any easier. The graphics were in my opinion decent of the Xbox 360 and much sharper on the PC. Has anyone tried this game? I am not a big fan of westerns mind you but those who are should take a look into it. Those who have tried this game please feel free to tell us what you thought of the game and please leave a good lengthly post.

Smallville seems to be taking a new approach in the up coming seasons. This just in folks Smallville is reviving the justice league! For those who have seen it I am extremely phsyched about this. Well the recent game that I bought and now has all my free time is none other then Neverwinter Nights 2. I must say. This game is living up to everything I expected it to be and more so. So far the Single player campaign is halarious in most spots and not to mention later on
You get to own your own castle and subjects
Overall I find it is money best spent for those into Dungeons and dragons and NWN fans from the first one.

I dressed up as a holla dancer (female one) and yes I am a male. Actually it turned out there were five men at my workplace that dressed up as females. It was interesting to say the least.

Your Favourite Kind Of Alcohol [M for drug use, oooooh]
Burori replied to DeadSeraphim's topic in General Discussion
Lately I've drank a lot of beer. More specifically: Pauwel Kwak. It is great, though I probably drank it too much the past summer. Malibu with a bit pineapple is nice too, once in a while. Absinthe is pretty gross. It's just reserved for people who want to show off, by drinking what seems like the urine of the devil himself.
It is strong but I find that it does what it intends to. It gives you a strong hit and that is that. Plus it is kinda banned in a lot of countries. -
