As far as the subject goes, i think everyone is different. Overall, i don't think it's a bad thing, like most everyone is saying it'd show what you need to work on before marriage and if you should be getting married to that person at all. Sometimes it doesn't matter if you live together at all. One couple i know dated for a year, lived together for a year, got married, then after a year she cheated on her husband and is now living with her boyfriend (and is still married to her husband). :animeswea My boyfriend and i plan to get an apartment together in the next year or so and by then we'll have been dating for three years. I plan on making things work if at all possible, and if we need it. I don't think we'll have that many problems because we're together all the time anyway. I think moving in together when you've only been dating for a few months is rushing into it, but if you're in love you're in love.

Hmm... Well my story isn't that interesting but oh well. It was getting to be the end of my sophomore year of high school and i'd only had two boyfriends and neither of them had worked out. Then i got into this fiasco with my best guy friend that was a total mess. We were basically friends with benefits. :animeswea But not that many benefits, and i broke it off after like a week because i felt really uncomfortable. After that i really wasn't interested in guys at all. (Weird, i know.) So i went about school as usual. I confided everything in my best girl friend, Neuma. This is also about the time i started hanging out with all the big anime nerds from school. There was one kid, Alec, who was really shy, like really uber shy and awkward around girls. Being the stupid hyper kid i was i would hang on his arm and give him a hard time. Alec wasn't my type at all. He was pretty overweight... ok, he was a fat kid... and he had super big and thick glasses. One of his best friends was my good friend so we all started hanging out as a group after school. Alec would see me during passing period and give me candy. Before i knew it i was starting to like him, and i freaked out so bad. I would goto Neuma and be like "Why?! Why is this happening?! I don't know what to do?!" I didn't want to be in a relationship and i didn't even know if i wanted to date someone like him. :animeswea But i ended up giving it a chance. Two years later Alec and i are still together and are probably going to get married, but not for a long while. ;)

I completely forgot that today was 6/6/06... haha. (Wasn't the remake of the movie The Omen supposed to come out today?) I pretty much agree with what eveyone else has been saying, it's kind of dumb to think the world is going to end today. I'm not that religious, but i heard no one knows when the world is going to end so it's not like it could be predicted anyway. Isn't 666 supposed to be the sign of the beast or whatever? (Sorry if i'm horribly wrong :animeswea ) Some kids from my school were talking about how the bible was actually misinterrupted and it's not actually 666, but 2 something. An interesting thought. Either way, here in southern indiana it's a gorgeous day with a very slim chance of catrastrophe. : P

Anime Is Anime a Big Thing Where You Live?
Moor_Child replied to Moor_Child's topic in Otaku Central
-Is amazaed this thread is still going...- Well, i'm still considered a geek, but i've found a small cluster of people (guys of course) who are into anime. Anime is still no big thing where i live, but it is growing (manga too). The Sam Goody around here a small selection of anime and manga. So that's a bit of a plus. It's mostly mainstream and all over priced. But it's better than nothing. I can mostly borrow it off my friends (Craton-sama and Ingram-san) who i do believe can be called otakus. Anyway, anime is still no big thing. But i'm ok with it now. I'm still a huge anime fan and growing. -
I read in Anime Insider that the DVD is going to be about $100.00. The DVD has the first twelve episodes, and is going to come out some time in March. I can't wait, but i have to save up the money for it. T_T

I've been wondering this for a while, how many of the people here at the OB consider themselves to be real Otakus. Perhaps I should have started this thread in the Anime Lounge, but I know more people come to the Otaku Lounge than the Anime Lounge, and I didn't think it was all that anime related, but I could be wrong. What I mean by real Otaku is do you watch a lot of anime? Do you know some anime vocab? Do you own lots of anime? Stuff like that. I've read in some peoples profiles that they don't even really watch anime. I know some of us are just here for fun. Well anyway, I'm not really trying to get at anything. And I'm not trying to be rude either, not at all. I'm just doing this out of curiosity. I myself wouldn't exactly call myself an Otaku, even though anime is all I watch. So, what I'd like to know is do you consider yourself a real Otaku?

My problem is that I haven't seen much anime from beginning to end. In fact most of the anime I've seen I didn't see the first episode. But, since I love anime so much I'll usually go ahead and watch all of it. Anime is really the only thing I watch anymore, which may seem kinda sad, but it's not like I watch it all the time. The only anime that I thought had a somewhat boring beginning was s-CRY-ed, but I stuck with it anyway and now it's really starting to get interesting. So, my point is--yes, I am willing to forgive a show for its initial shortcomings and continue watching it.

I see a lot of people at school holding hands, and the occasional couple making out. At my school sometimes they get in trouble and sometimes they don't. Sadly, it just depends on who the kids are and who the teachers are that caught them. One of my friends got caught kissin (a little quick one) her boyfriend goodbye before getting on the bus after school. They both got a saturday school (you sit at school on saturday from 8am to 6pm). I think that was a little harsh. Sometimes after my friends and I give each other hugs we start yellin out, "PDA! PDA!" Just to be stupid. But I agree with most of what everyone else has said. It's ok to hold hands, give hugs, and even a kiss on the cheek is ok, but much of anything else shouldn't be allowed.

The Evil Creatures known as "Siblings"
Moor_Child replied to Hittokiri Zero's topic in General Discussion
I'm the oldest of four, and I hate it. My brother (13) thinks he's better than me at everything. My other littler brother (11) isn't so bad, but he can be a lil hellraiser at times. And my sister is just a lil chatterbox always asking questions, and it gets pretty annoying. I think part of the reason I hate it so much is that since I'm the oldest my parents blame me for the things they do. Even when they know I'm not to blame! They say I'm the oldest and I'm responsible for keeping them out of trouble. And my parents wonder why I stay locked up in my room all the time. But it's all good!!:toothy: -
I'm not sure, but I think my friend said it's supposed to come out on DVD in...march? I don't know where he got them, but he's got the whole series on tape. All 20 of them. They're subbed but they're legal. I'll ask him about it when I get back to school. Oh, BTW, there's also this show called The Marmalade Boy Drama, aka Orange Jam Boy. It's based on the anime/manga only it's acted out with, well, real people. I don't know how well I'd like it, I've only read about it at someone's webpage, but the person who did the page said they perfered the drama to the manga and the anime... I think I'll stick with the manga and anime though. :)

Santa brought me an electric guitar (mint green), and all the accesories! Yay! I've been askin for one for a year and a half! I also got a nightmare before christmas musical jewerly box (I LOVE IT!!), and matching buttons. My brothers got a PS2 and other things, and my sister got a DVD player and other things. I think my parents went for the expensive presents this year...but all in all it was a good christmas.
-
Well, I still can't decide which I like better, the manga or the show. The both have pros and cons. The show went into more detail and that's why it was so much longer. Both had pretty much the same story line up until the 3/4 of the way thru the show, then it changed quite a bit. I thought the manga was better drawn. I love them both anyway. The TV Special was Marmalade Boy the Movie. I thought it was wonderful. The animation was better than the show, and it was just an overall good movie (even though it was only 30 min).
-
What christmas means to me? Well, I've never really been very religous (in fact you could call me atheist), so I'd say it's all about tradition. We do the whole go to the grandparents house, stay the night, and wake up in the morning to the presents under the tree. But this year my grandma's in the hospital so won't be doing that :(. But it's all good. I have no idea idea what the real spirit behind christmas is.

I absolutely love this show! I just got done watching the whole series and the movie a few days ago. I also read the manga, but I can't decide which I like better. To anyone who's seen it let me know what you think. I'd love to be able to talk about it someone about it!

I remember them. I had one, my brothers had one, and my sister had one. I played with it about two hours then i was bored and kept it in deep sleep mode. Those are soooo annoying when their batteries die! My sister asked me to get her one this x-mas. I laughed and told her no way.
