Fear That Everything Now Is A Dream....?
RicoTranzrig replied to Celia's topic in General Discussion
I think it wouldn't be that bad. It would feel weird and sad if I woke up and found out that this is all a dream. But, sometimes dreams tend to last very long, maybe a span of days, while you've only slept for a few hours; think about how much ideas we're bringing to our awake self if this were a dream and if we can remember them. Rarely do I get dreams that feel real, but when I do, sometimes I mistakingly acknowledge them as events that happened, when they really didn't. -
My last major was Biochemistry...I don't know what I was on when I signed up for it. But I dropped that and took up Computer Science major with a concentration in Networking. While I do just fine in it, code does not get me fired up, especially if I'm going to be doing it for a very long time. So I got out of that and now I'm in English with a concentration in Creative Writing. I'm liking it so far, especially with the journalism class that I'm taking now.

Assumptions of a Newbie (and other short stories)
RicoTranzrig replied to Doukeshi's topic in General Discussion
It's obvious that they don't really get noticed at first. Many new people don't stick around long enough to make themselves known. I consider someone a newbie if they don't have a basic understanding of whatever they're getting themselves into and they don't seem to do anything about it, like learn. -
There's a lot of ways to lose weight. Back when I was a Sophomore, I was 5'5 and weighed 200 lbs...really wasn't happy with that. So I took a rigorous tennis class where it focuses on agility instead of technique. 2 hours, 4 days a week...drank a lot of water. Lost 30 lbs in 2 months. I didn't really diet, but after the training, I didn't feel like eating as much as before. I've noticed that running makes my weight go up...probably because I'm heavy on my feet, compared to tennis where my heels are always up, shuffling around. My Anatomy teacher told me the key to losing weight is to burn more calories than you take in...makes sense. One good tip I've learned is if you're hungry and it's nowhere near mealtime, take some water to calm the stomach so you don't have to resort to snacks as much.

It's good to tell someone how you feel and be honest. But you also have the choice of witholding your words and rethink things, maybe how you feel about or what you say to him will change overtime. I think the important thing is to keep your friendship so you can get to know him more.

Writing Today's Poem [M -- As a Precaution]

Break Poor, wretched figures. Start up, Rapidly run, Tire out. Greed, horrible apathy Spread their minds open Blank faces, Existing in two planes at once. -
Basically, you make one, post it or request for one in the art&design section or some other place, then you include the url of it it in your signature as image code.

One song that's been floating around in my head is "It's Been Awhile" by Staind. They played it a lot a few years back, but I never got sick of it. "Little Wing" by Jimi Hendrix has stuck with me for a very long time after hearing it many years ago.

Dank Third to the two giants in the sky Minute in size Overshadowed by the abundant lush Creeping around the earth like slender shadows. Sunlight spokes through the trees; Moonlight blankets in white mist Obliged to a free-fall come morning once again. An intimate silence is broken And loneliness lies under a tip of leaves. Once again, our presence is subtle. -
I like being alone more than being in the company of others. It's good to have someone to talk to in person, but I tend to get drained easily if I talk a lot without doing anything else. Solitude is good, although, the opposite also applies. If I'm down, spending time with someone helps me get right back into spirit.

'sides a group on Usenet, this is the only other online community that I visit regularly. "Observer from the shadows." I read a whole lot, but I don't post as often as I used to.

Way back in middle and high school, I had people saying to me, "Oh, you have so much potential, you're super smart...why aren't you using it?" I thought I was some kind of inferior person who won't be able to excel in anything. Sometimes I still think that way because I'm so divided on what I want to do later on and if I can really do all those things. I've noticed I can get far but it's always not enough for me or someone else.

I'd go with personality as well. I think apperance is the reflection of that personality. But, obviously, looks are the first thing you see (except online). This person that I like isn't really "eye candy," clothes are old and messy, wears a frown most of the time. But after breaking the ice, she's fun to listen and talk to since her interests are not really concentrated on beauty but a whole lot more on the deeper stuff.

A broken toaster, sitting beside a tree. Tossed aside by its former owner, considered useless. For months it lay, drenched by sun and rain; Its luster never tarnished. Laying in the backyard, A bird came to its side. It stared at itself curiously and pecked at the metal shell. Startled, it stood there looking at the damage The bird had done to itself. Whoever has the time and money to do it. Consumers probably want consoles that make sense (below the 500 USD price range) and great games that push the imagination. Even the U.S. Army attempted a game called "America's Army: Operations" and it looks good (plus it's free). While the hardware aspect of video games may be limited to only the big companies, the software possibilites are virtually endless, especially for the PC.

Well, with the 3DO discontinued, Panasonic now makes the optical drives in the GameCube. I don't think the Apple will get into the gaming buisness anytime soon. Certain things limit it like money and popular 3rd-party support. Back then, it wasn't too difficult to get into the gaming buisness, still a company needed a lot to make sales. Now, the market is very big with tons of competition. While Panasonic makes for the GCN, I'm not sure what Apple could do... Provide new designs for the outer casings of consoles? Maybe produce a development kit based on OSX? Both the GameCube and the new Apple G5 run on IBM PowerPC processors. It could be possible...

I'm not sure if it's been proven, but my morale tends to go down when the sun's not shining, literally. During the winter season, I'm not too happy. Maybe it's a chemical imbalance, but I avoid taking any drugs or consulting some kind of professional about it. Instead, I try to take my mind off things by playing video games, running, driving, hanging out with friends, just being somewhat active. I'm not sure if this applies, "Idleness is the devil's workshop..." So it's better to take the mind off of worrying and approach your problems with clear thoughts, which takes time.

I'm definitely going to get this one to add to my small video game library. At first I was partly turned off because the orignal puzzled me (until I read a few plot guides and thought about it), but I love the overall presentation of the game. SH3 looks very detailed so I'm expecting it to be another atmospheric game where you can take everything in as the secrets unfold with superb storytelling.

Definitely consult the doctor and have them do some tests to see if it's just that your body is producing less red-blood cells than it should be. You might have to take some supplements or medication to boost production so your body gets the O2 it needs. Also, there also might be some underlying diseases that cause Anemia so make sure to ask about that too.

The 4th of July! *Lights rather large Roman candle*
RicoTranzrig replied to Domon's topic in General Discussion
Lucky Anime Expo goers. I'll be driving up north CA to visit my older friends...formely my godparents. I like them, but never really visit them too much. They're classic car collectors who live by the waterfront so there's tons of food, cozy place, and a nice display of fireworks from their balcony. -

My place was only one block away. I stormed in and ran upstairs. 46 floors in the upward direction; I didn't know what I was doing. Pressing on through 2 doors and into the hallway. Swiping the card, slipping into the door Dodging grabbing hands. I closed my eyes and felt a draft. An open window. My eyes met two figures. The lights were on behind them. Two of my friends remained. They were coming; A leap of faith was in order for the night... -
I wouldn't want to live forever, not in these conditions. Death doesn't really affect me anymore. I used to be afraid of it, but I could care less if all my hopes and dreams were stopped short. Of course I would like to fulfill them with whatever time I have left, it just wouldn't matter to me once I'm dead...a lot of things wouldn't matter.
