Anime Which Animes Are Dubbed Best/Worst?
Dark Youkai replied to ~Mystical Pan~'s topic in Otaku Central
Inuyasha must be one of the worst dubs I've seen. Kagome's voice is so irritating-- it makes me want to throw something at the TV to get her to shutup. Then there's Kagura: Helloooo- you're trying to kill these people, not seduce them! And Kouga sounds like he's on drugs or something, not to mention all the other wolf demons' voices are kinda squeeky. Jaken sounds like a smurf O.o (wait... maybe that's not too ooc) But I have to admit that Rin's and Sessho-maru's voices are well-cast. (When Naraku says Kanna's name, he sounds like he has some sort of speech impediment and can't say it right-- is that how her name is supposed to be pronounced?) But Princess Mononoke was a great dub. Love that movie :) .Hack//Sign has some really good voice actors, too. Hopefully I haven't been too much of a critic... or offended anyone.... -

When I said I live in Mississippi, that was my point. Down here, the majority of people are racist because the majority of people are rednecks. I'm saying that I'm surrounded by people like that and I still wear the Confederate flag because I believe it stands for something entirely different. In fact, I hardly even see people wearing the Confederate flag anymore, so I've never really seen it as a symbol for something bad. To assume that I'm racist because of the people I'm surrounded by is highly unfair and irrelevant. - Ayami For the record, I'm not a he.

It irks me to no end to sit and watch as people condemn the Confederate flag with out logical reason. Many say it should be done away with because it represents slavery. You forget: the Civil War wasn't about slavery. It doesn't make any sense to argue about a cover-up for the war in which it was used. As many have already mentioned, the South didn't solely have slaves. They just had more, and that's because they had huge plantations. I'm not defending slavery, I'm entirely against it, but slavery isn't the issue here. Someone mentioned KKK and that the flag should be done away with because these evil-intentioned people used the flag to represent themselves, and therefore the flag is evil. As someone mentioned: if you're going to condemn the flag because it was used to represent something bad, should you not also condemn the US flag? Practically every symbol has been used for something less than it's intended purpose, but that doesn't make it evil all-together. Personally, I live in Mississippi, and I wear the Confederate flag because I'm proud of the way the Confederates fought for a cause, whether or not they won. I think that if you want to condemn the flag because some people misuse it, than so be it. That's your problem, and it's not going to change anything . -Ayami

I respect you, Justin, for your spiritual maturity and agree whole-heartedly with what you've said. I just want to say that I had the unfortunate experience of going to a church where people shoved religion down my throat, trying to force Jesus into my heart instead of giving me the chance to except Him willingly. Unfortunately as well, this caused me to get off to a bad start with Christianity. I agree with Justin about religious people: they tend to have their own religion. For instance, I was criticized indirectly by a pastor who didn't believe in the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, when I did. Every person seems to have their own opinion on how Christianity should work, and many have a tendency to strongly enforce their beliefs whether the Bible does or not. I would just like to say that i don't think anyone should feel pushed away from God because of a bad church experience. You learn to rely on God and His Word, because lots of Christians tend to be the meanest people sometimes. It's like that saying goes, (and i'm paraphrasng here) "don't let stress kill you off- let the church help." I'm asking people, try not to judge Christianity too much by the Christians, because all men are mortal. Try to understand through God instead, because Jesus is our greatest example. I hope i didn't sound like i was forcing a religion, i just felt i needed to say that. -Ayami
