Japantown is great even when there's not an Anime fair going. Nihonmachi! Nihonmachi! Yes, they've got the best selection of everything Japanese there that's not in Japan. I always did my studying for Japanese tests there. Gosh, that was fun.

Is anyone here going to San Francisco's Japan Town Anime Fair? I'm in Japan Town every other day just having staring contests with CDs I can't afford, so this is a great excuse for me to go. I don't think it'll be a very big event and I'm not expecting a lot of nonlocals to go, but if you're in the area please come. Oh yeah, www.jtaf.com

Have you ever noticed in Cowboy Bebop, in the dubbed version, Jet says, "Open foot, insert mouth"? Exactly how does one open their foot? There are a whole bunch of things like this everywhere. Oh, and you ever notice how in Trigun the date when Vash destoryed July keeps changing? He said that Knives and himself were born 130 years ago... but then it also says that he destoryed July 130 years ago, but then it also says it was 107 years ago! ARGH!
-
AAAHH! What are you people talking about?! If Vash were less goofy it would be a whole lot less fun! Besides, he has his serious moments. That's why Trigun has it all. Mmyep.

I really love the manga a lot more than the anime. The anime just gets on my nerves a bit. Like that beach episode... Urgh. Now I sound like I'm complaining! But no, I really do like Chobits, even though I don't like love stories. (

Okay, maybe this is old news, but have you guys heard about the English Trigun manga Dark Horse is publishing?! http://darkhorse.com/products/pg_profile/sku_12867/index.html I just found out about this tonight, and it's sort of a big thing for me. Oh, and they'll be doing the Hellsing manga too, and some others.... Reply at your own free will. (Note to Mods: If this old news, don't worry about hurting my feelings by deleting this thread. I'll be OK. Really.)

Ah, yes. I got to see a preview of it in a special book thing that Tokyopop put out. It looks.... OK. I might be interested in getting a few of books. Of course, that would require time and money, neither of which I have. But yes, the art's pretty good. The story seems sort of interesting. It all looks fairly mediocre. Mmmyep.

I only got to see the first episode, and merely glanced at the cover to one of the manga. I really did enjoy the one episode I saw, though. I'm going to probably rent that series next... after I finish Hellsing and Outlaw Star (again). Thanks for reminding me!

It's just a parody on anime. Mostly Shoujo anime. There's a lot of Ranma 1/2 references, too.

Malice Mizer Moi Dix Mois Eve of Destiny BLOOD Need I say more? Oh yes, Gackt is evil! EEEEEEEVIIIL! He'll rape and then eat your children if he gets the chance!

I just tried archery about a week ago. It was my first time, but I was pretty good (or at least I'd like to think). It was my first time picking up a bow and I was shooting the bullseye from about 50-100 ft away. Also, when we got bored with that we started to line soda cans up on the hay stacks and shoot those. It was a lot of fun and I hope to do it again real soon.

Cacao is a normal student with a strange allergy to chocolate. Once he eats chocolate he becomes 'drunk'. He ate his magic professor's chocolate bar that was a couple hundred years past the experation date and sneezed during a spell causing a tree spirit to go into life-size doll. Enter Hinano, the ditzy greenhaired love interest. Anyway, the story is about them and the crazy adventures they go on. It's funny, it's cute, and it's parody! The few people who've seen it don't seem to realize that.

My friend and I have been looking for a good TCG to play together and she refuses to play Magic and I can't stand the new cards. She just recently came in contact with .Hack//Sign and enjoyed it, so this'll be good for the both of us. And I can lord over her about hearing about it first (granted, I've know about it for a long time, and have already rubbed it in her face, but more info means more bragging!)! *cough* Yes, and this is the closest I'll ever come to being able to play the video, 'cept at conventions! Stupid PS2.... grumble, grumble, grumble...

I fell in love with this little gem of a parody at WonderCon 03 after watching the first episode. For months afterwards I searched and searched for a place to rent the DVDs (I'm too poor to buy anything), when I finally found the prized DVDs my quest was only half over. I went through the 26 episode series like a dream. I was in tears by the last episode, not because it was sad, but because I knew that I would never see any new Trouble Chocolate again. I searched once again, not for DVDs, but TC fans like myself. Unlike the first mission, this one failed. I was unable to find anyone else who liked it, or who had even heard of it. So, this is my last cry for anyone who enjoyed it, or even saw the whole series. Please voice your opinions now! Let yourself be heard about this wonderful anime parody!

I've always been fond of: "I once tried to kill the greatest lover of all time. And then I remembered that murder was illegal. So I did it anyway! AHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Maybe that's not a very good one... I like it.

I love MegaTokyo. Actually, I love a lot of webcomics. I even got to meet Fred (Piro) and Sarah (Saraphim) at CCI this year. I got their picture! Fred really does have floppy hair, in case you were wondering. And they make such a cute couple! Aww...

Writing Inu-Yasha Fanfic-"A date with Kagome [waring contains spoilers]
Tog replied to Japan's topic in Creative Works
Aha! Wonderful! I don't even really like Inuyasha *hides from thrown objects*, but that was really good! You're writing style is cute and enjoyable, and the story is cute and enjoyable. You portrayed the characters very well. If there's one thing I hate about fanfiction, it's when characters go all OOC. Yuck. But you did a great job making sure that didn't happen! All hail the Queen! -
Tank!, Ai yu Chu, H.T., those are just really great. It's way too bad that Adult Swim had to cut H.T. from Trigun... It's really a great song. I'm not sure if I like that really pumped up version of it, though, on the soundtrack.... Yeah. I can't remember the name of it. And Tank! of course. It seems to get the popular vote, huh? Except, once my computer got stuck while playing Tank! so... it really just scares me whenever it plays. In fact, I love Tank! so much that if I hear it again I'll puke. And Ai yu Chu from Excel Saga is just.... I'm not sure. Let's say, "Good." Mmmhmm. I'll stick with that for now. The Pillows are really good, too. But Ride on Shooting Star isn't really the opening theme to FLCL, is it? Hahahaa... no. No, it isn't.

Anime Somebody's suing Cartoon Network (FLCL related)
Tog replied to Senor Ding Dong's topic in Otaku Central
Heh, I remember at CCI this year when Adult Swin anounced that they were going to airing FLCL, and some guy next to me said, "Oh wow. They're pretty daring." I knew as soon as they anounced that, that were going to be problems with parents fighting CN and AS. Heh, this is all just pretty funny. I mean, the type of thing that passes for children's programming is pretty much brain rotting monkey feces, and this isn't really meant young viewers. Heh, I wonder how much of FLCL that woman watched... -
The Eye was pretty good. I can't really judge it's scariness factor because I don't scare easily. But if I were to scare, that'd be a really scary movie. I jumped a few times... I hope no one noticed!

Wowie! Pottery and chairs! You're very handy, aren't you? I wish I could do stuff like that... Sugoi! I like the iguana one!

Oh, yes. Thanks for your reply. I would just like to add another nameless character (for reply length purposes too). She's the main character and we first meet her as she's killing a drug dealer in an ally way. Don't you all just love love stories? The name choices are Saskai (Protector of Mankind), Amaris (Promised by God), Kaida (Little Dragon), or Gardenia (the little flower thingy, you know). By the way, Jace means Moon and Slade means Child of the Valley (but Slade is still better... you didn't hear that.).

I know this is probably going to sound very stupid, and also not the best first introduction post. Anyway, I'm going to be writing some silly little sci-fi love story (shoot me now, please?) and I've been having a little trouble with names... Okay, I picked the greatest names ever but my partner in crime (she's the illustrator!) picked the not-so-good ones I put on the list. But I digress, for a male villain who's first appearance is when he's hijacking a bus which name would be better and why; Slade or Jace? Yes, I am aware that this is fairly pointless but I really need a lot of people's opinions. Please forgive me if this post isn't regulation, I haven't posted on a message board in years.
