I must admit that I didn't realize Aaryanna was almost out of the game until someone had mentioned it to me. It's a shame that she has to be out of the game, but I'm sure the rest of us will be following her very soon. These new cards are more than a little frustrating, aren't they? I'll have to be crafty if I hope to win this. -Shy Edit: Sandy, I have a question. Since Paraxis does not earn points one way or the other, will Paraxis be eliminated when he has lost all of his characters? Will his Undead Card be removed right away as well?

I imagine it's temporary, although I have no idea how temporary. Maybe it lasts until a certain number of Death Cards are used, or until a certain number of people have posted? Sandy? You kids worry too much. :p -Shy
Hmmm... since we are close to the end... I'm going to stay out of this. Now if it's not obvious, just as Shy toyed with time, so have I. Charlotte, Ian and Marta were in my opinion in a separate time stream. By walking thought the lattice arch, Marta and Baby Kenneth ended up back in the time stream that the others are in. I hope that was not too confusing. ;) Now I just hope I earned just one life point!
It made perfect sense to me. Marta and Naomi protecting the baby sounds like a lot of fun to write, actually. Good job. Nothing much else to say here. I definitely didn't misread a card and have to change my strategy entirely! -Shy

Raone turned to Illyria, his eyes filled with animosity towards the God of Madness. “To interfere with the game so,” he huffed, “You should be removed for your treachery, trickster.” “For someone who claims to see the truth, it seems ironic that you would miss the obvious, brother,,” Illyria replied smugly, “The Kaijin is no longer mine. Bellana bound it to the fate of Man millennia ago; the game itself awoke the beast.” Paraxis shook his head in disgust, “Every time that monster interferes I can feel my own power over the Ragnarok slipping. The laws of time and space have become fractured -- ruined!” “The tides are slipping out of my control as well,” Jachym added, “How could we have overlooked that miserable child? It may well end in disaster for each of us.” Raone stared into the pool and sighed, “It would appear that for once that we are at the mercy of these souls. Their choices will ultimately determine our fate, and that of all Mankind…” Illyria leaned back into his chair and stared into the pool with great anticipation. “I just love a game full of surprises, don‘t you?” Jeanne continued wandering through the hall, passing through several doors before finding herself back in the forest. It was the middle of the night, but the moon was full. Although her vision had become worse since being cursed by Paraxis she was determined not to wait any longer to find the child. The young woman could hear several familiar voices in the distance. She recognized one as the boy she had shot point blank in the chest, and another as the young Chinese girl… but who was the third? It sounded like an older man, his voice filled with urgency. Who was this stranger, and how had the young man survived his wound? “We must find the child,” it ordered sternly to the other two. Jeanne approached the sounds of their voice slowly, concealing herself from behind the cover of the forest. “We’ve been searching for hours, Kaijin,” Cho Hee replied angrily, “I thought you knew how to find her!” “It would seem she is on the move,” the voice said, “Perhaps the bride is -- what? She draws near!” Jeanne quickly turned to run away as she felt something wrap tightly around her leg. She struggled for an instant until an unseen force lifted her into the air. It appeared that the young woman had fallen into a trap of some kind. Her face covered by the frill and lace of the gown, Jeanne could hardly see what was constricting her, let alone how to escape. She looked at the forest floor, easily 15 feet below, and began to tremble in fear. She wondered if the others know that she was coming, or if this was one of the many dangers of the Ragnarok that the others had warned her about. An imposing looking man led the others underneath Jeanne’s dangling body, groping around aimlessly in the dark. While the Kaijin appeared as centaur to Cho, and a beautiful woman to Patrick, to Jeanne it looked like a tall man dressed in a dark suit of armor. “I am certain the Daughter of Paraxis is here, the man in armor said, “But where?” “That bitch..” Patrick said as he raised his sword, “The second we find her, I swear I will kill her.” Cho Hee shook her head in disbelief, “You’re so angry, Patrick.. it frightens me. What could have changed you so quickly?” Patrick ignored Cho and turned his head towards the sky. He spotted Jeanne’s signature white dress instantly. “There she is!” he shouted, “Dammit. How do I get up there, Kaijin?” “She is suspended by the trees,” the Kaijin replied, “We will chop down these trees, and bring her back down to the forest floor.” “The fall will kill her!” Cho shouted, “She must be twenty feet high, if she‘s not dead already.” “No harm can come to the Daughter of Paraxis, regardless of the injury. She may be unconscious.” Jeanne could feel the blood rushing to her head. If she tried to speak up they would no doubt try to attack her. She decided to play dead, and hope that they would find a way to let her down softly. “Can you hear me!?“ the young girl called out, “She has to be dead.” Patrick swung at one of the nearby trees with his sword passionately. “Then let’s do it!” An enormous axe materialized out of thin air in front of the Kaijin. With a single strike he shattered several trees, freeing Jeanne’s body from the rope that had bound her leg. Like a rag doll she plummeted to the ground face first. Cho screamed in terror as red blood splattered across the group from Jeanne’s impact. The bride remained silent. Although she had expected to feel great pain when she fell, she instead felt nothing at all. She remained limp as Patrick poked her backside with his sword, checking for any signs of life. “Maybe she was dead after all,” he said. “She is not dead, Son of Illyria. You above all others should be able to detect this rude. Speak to us, child of death!” Jeanne quickly reached for her gun and turned towards the group. Patrick charged at her, but before he could strike she fired several times at him, impacting his shoulder and knocking him to the ground suddenly. “Ugh! Damn you!” the young man said as he clutched his wound. “Will you ever learn?” she said as she struggled to get to her feet. Unfortunately for her she failed to notice that both of her legs were shattered from the fall. As much as she tried her legs would not respond. “….dammit…” Her eyes full of tears, Cho Hee picked up Patrick’s sword and swung at Jeanne across her chest. The Kaijin watched the melee silently, unaffected by the violence happening before him. Jeanne attempted to fire at Cho, narrowly missing the girl as she swung the sword again, chopping off the bride’s arm. “What have you done…?” Jeanne asked as she drifted into unconsciousness. The forest around her seemed to spin as she watched Cho Hee rush to the young man‘s aide. “The boy will live if we can stop the bleeding,” The Kaijin said, “This woman has proven most troublesome.” “Oh thank God!” Cho said as she kissed Patrick, “I can’t lose you, I can‘t lose you…” Several hours later Jeanne awoke in complete darkness. Although her arm was still missing, somehow her legs and chest wound had been healed. She attempted to stand up, but bumped her head against a piece of wood. The young woman screamed for help. No reply. It was then that she realized that she wasn’t just in a crate, but in a coffin. Jeanne had been buried alive. Wiik Sauce and Perry Bible Fellowship are the only two I read. Both are a little adult at times, especially PBF. Still, I find it to be hillarious. I'm desperately hoping someone will buy me the print collection of PBF for the holidays. -Shy

Are we really sure that it's Earth-like? What have we done!? Anyway, it's always interesting to hear about discovering planets that might be capable of supporting intelligent life. It always makes me wonder if there are other races out there using similar means to try and find us. -Shy

I don't see why regular members (or even moderators) can't just create those threads by themselves. There's really no need to label it as an official ''Event;' trivia contests and debates go on all of the time, so I'd personally rather see that term reserved for larger and more ambitious projects. But if you apply for the Event Master position and are chosen, you're welcome to do whatever you want. In my experience, staff has had little input with dictating what type of Community Events are created. Of course, with the creation of the Events Suggestions thread that will probably open up things a bit. -Shy

Exactly what RPGs on OB do you approve of? This is good advice, but most of it is common sense. OB has the strongest RPG writers/creators I've ever come across, and these games are something I'm (usually) proud to be a part of. The important thing to keep in mind is that this site is home to writers of all ages and skill. While I would probably never sign-up for a lot of the stuff here, I do appreciate that there are RPGs catering to younger and less experienced writers. Everyone has to start somewhere. -Shy
I'm not going to change the cancellation effect, because the Life Points are soon done for anyway. Very soon, I might add. ;P After that happens, if you don't already have a Life/Creation Card in stock when you lose all of your characters, you will be out of the game instantly.
Just when I think it's safe to go for Death Points you throw this curveball at me! Ack! -Shy

So if you read my post you'll see that I played around with time/space a little bit, and introduced a new NPC. I figure it will be an extension of Charlotte, so killing one will kill the other. Beyond that, I don't have a lot to say. I only hope to earn some life points for all of the sex in that post, Sandy! I hope that counts as sex because I'm not writing anything much more graphic than that. Here is the list of actions that no longer award points, for the record: - Asking for forgiveness (2 Life Points - Wishing someone’s death (3 Death Points) - Sharing valuable information (2 Life Points) - Threatening someone (2 Death Points) - Getting depressed (1 Death Point) - Praying to higher powers (1 Life Point) - Finding food (2 Life Points) - Saying “Thank you” with intention (1 Life Points) - Rescuing someone from a trap (3 Life Points) - Wanting to stick together (1 Life Point) - Accusing someone falsely (2 Death Points) - Telling the truth about own past aloud (1 Life Point) - Choking someone (3 Death Points) - Comforting someone (1 Life Point) - Going a separate way from others (2 Death Points) - Kissing someone tenderly (2 Life Points) - Helping up someone who has fallen down (1 Life Point) - Lusting after someone (2 Death Points) - Kicking something or someone (1 Death Point) - Tripping someone (1 Death Point) - Calling someone names (2 Death Point) - Shouting angrily at someone (1 Death Point) - Hitting someone on purpose (2 Death Points) - Swearing aloud (1 Death Point) -Shy
Illyria placed his finger in the pool and laughed. While the others bickered amongst themselves the trickster would use this opportunity to gain the advantage. All it would take is a touch of Madness, and young Patrick would fill that role perfectly... The Kaijin smiled as it led the group through another set of doors. To these men and women it seemed to be an impossible maze, a labyrinth, but after millennia in this cursed place he alone had learned its’ secrets. In time he would get his revenge on his captors, the Gods of love and deception, but that would require patience. Fortunately for the Kaijin patience was a virtue it had learned over time. Mercy, however, was not. “What more can you tell me of this bride?” it asked as it stood towering over Naomi, “This woman could end everything!” The young woman cowered in fear as it stared into the Kaijin’s amber eyes, “I don’t know. One minute I was with her, and the next I’m with you three…” “This hell grows worse with every turn,” Patrick added, “Charlotte might be dead already…” The Kaijin nodded in agreement. “We must make haste. I sense that the Gods have dispersed their powers once more, perhaps that will draw us closer to the child.” Patrick smiled at Cho, “You have nothing to worry about. I will protect you… I love you…” Cho Hee remained silent. To say the least, she was disgusted to be aligned with them, but she knew she had no choice. She thought of Reiko, who had given her life to protect Cho, and the rest who had died before her. If the time came, would she be strong enough to do the same for another? “Did you not hear me, Cho?” the young man said, “I love you. Damn. This feeling overtaking me is so new and exciting, it almost makes being in this awful place worth it.” “I… I love you too…” she replied softly, thinking of Reiko once again, “Let’s both hope you won’t have to protect anyone, Patrick.” Naomi motioned towards the next set of doors, and the Kaijin opened them slowly. Once again the group was transported to another strange and unusual place; this time it appeared to be an art gallery of some kind. Paintings lined the walls, each one detailing a death more horrific than the last. Even Naomi couldn’t help but hide her eyes from the terrible sights the artwork portrayed. It was then Patrick realized that the Kaijin had disappeared. “She’s gone!” he shouted in surprise as he looked up and down the hallway for the strange creature. “The Kaijin?” Cho asked, still holding tightly onto her sword, “But I thought it couldn’t get lost around here… why would it leave us?” Confused and uncertain the trio continued searching through the poorly lit gallery. Patrick held tightly onto Cho’s hand as they walked. Although she didn’t care for Patrick in the same way that she did Reiko, his affection was welcome. At the very least she found his touch comforting was they delved deeper into the strange place. Suddenly a young woman, draped in a bloodied white wedding gown appeared from around the corner. She saw the group out of the corner of her eye and turned to them quickly, shaking a handgun menacingly in their direction. Accompanying her was Marta, who appeared to have freed herself from her curse. “It’s the bride!” Naomi shrieked, “You have to stop, Jeanne. You can’t kill the child.” Jeanne narrowed her eyes. “I’ve no time for this. Marta and I need to kill it now!” “You’ve got to be joking!” Cho replied as she readied her weapon, “You‘ll have to get through us first, you bitch!” Jeanne aimed her pistol at Cho, and fired, “You won’t move, fine!” Reacting instinctively Patrick leapt in front of Cho Hee, absorbing the gunfire within his own chest. He dropped to the ground, pale and unconscious as blood poured out from his wound. Cho dropped her weapon instantly, cradling the young man and shrieking hysterically. “What have you done?” Marta asked as she backed away from Jeanne. The bride turned towards Marta, her face red with Patrick’s blood, “I did what I had to. We can‘t lose the bitch and her--” Naomi charged at Jeanne from behind, pinning her to the ground. “Stay down, Jeanne! I can‘t let you hurt anyone else!” The bride struggled to free herself from Naomi, but was unable. She looked to Marta for help as the gun slipped out of her hand. “Do something, you bitch! Hurry!” Marta stood over the two as they wrestled across the floor. Cho was still crying, begging someone, anyone for help with Patrick. It reminded her of the pain she had caused her husband, and for the first time in her life she felt remorse over his death. “I‘m sorry for everything, I… I… can’t…” Marta said softly as she ran off into the distance, her eyes filled with tears. “Dammit!” Jeanne shouted as she pushed Naomi off of her, “I guess I’ll have to do this myself.” She quickly grabbed the gun off of the ground and fired it at Naomi, barely missing the girl’s head. “I won’t let you hurt anyone else, Jeanne!” “It’s not like you have a choice…” Jeanne pointed the gun at Naomi once more, her hand trembling. Naomi clenched her fist in anger, focusing intensely on Jeanne. The bride closed her eyes, and collapsed onto the ground suddenly. “Oh God, what happened?” Cho asked. A familiar voice called out from behind them, “The Daughter of Jachym and of Celesta has used her gifts to protect you.” Cho turned around to discover the Kaijin standing behind them. “She drew the blood in Jeanne’s body to her head, knocking her unconscious. A wise move, indeed.” Naomi rubbed her forehead, trying to get a bearing of what was going on around her. “I did? she asked, “I just knew that I had to stop her somehow… it’s hard to believe I have that kind of power.” “It comes at a price, Naomi.” Cho said as kissed Patrick on the forehead “Why does he have to die, too?” Naomi stood to her feet. “He doesn’t have to,” she replied, “I have the power to heal. Don’t I, Kaijin?” The Kaijin nodded. “The boy’s wound is fatal. Healing it would require a great sacrifice.” “I’m not sure I have the strength, but I have to try.” “You can’t, if you were to fall… your gifts…” “--My gifts are to help! Kaijin. It’s time.” Naomi sat near Patrick and placed her hands on his injury as they began to glow. The familiar white light filled the room, and within an instant Patrick’s wounds were fully healed. When the light cleared Naomi’s body began convulsing violently as she experienced the pain that the young man had experienced. Several minutes passed before Patrick awoke to discover Cho Hee and Naomi watching him slowly. Across the room the Kaijin stood silent over Jeanne, waiting for her to recover. “The boy is awake, we leave now.”The Kaijin muttered as it picked up Jeanne’s body and lifted it over its‘ shoulder, “The child must be found.” “What happened?” Patrick asked as he looked towards Jeanne, “How am I alive? That strange weapon..” “I healed you with my power, Patrick,” Naomi said softly as she reached for her chest, “Even though there aren’t any wounds, I can still feel the pain she caused you…” “Is she..?” The Kaijin shook its’ head, “I’ve not the ability to harm those blessed with the will of the Gods. You three must decide her fate.” There was a moment of silence as the three stared at one another. “The bitch needs to die,” Naomi said bitterly, “We have all suffered enough.” Cho nodded in agreement, “She tried to kill me. What more can we do if she awakens?” “We can’t” Patrick replied, “It’s exactly what they want us to do. Wear us away until there is only one. We need to show the woman compassion.” Patrick grabbed Cho’s hand. “Maybe he’s right, Naomi,” she added, “Take her weapon and let’s leave her in this place.” Reluctantly Naomi nodded, and removed the weapon from Jeanne, placing it in her pocket. Patrick turned to Cho Hee and smiled. “There is so much I want to say to you, my love,” he said cheerfully as he gave her a hug, “Is there any way we can be alone for a moment..?” Cho Hee looked to the Kaijin for approval. “Don’t stray too far, Daughter of Bellana and Son of Illyria. We must hurry.” The two walked hand-in-hand into the distance. While Cho was not attracted to Patrick as she was to Reiko, a few moments of passion were the least she could do to thank the man who had saved her, and whom she had suddenly grown fond of. Despite the pain he had endured so far, for a few minutes the young man had finally found peace. Meanwhile the Kaijin and Naomi watched over Jeanne. “Son of Illyria? Naomi asked, “I thought you didn’t care for Patrick?” “My feelings are of little import,” the creature replied, “It seems the God of Madness has blessed the boy unknowingly. I sense the power now within him.” “Does that mean someone else has died?” “It would seem so. At this rate soon all of the powers of light and darkness will be drawn to us…” Marta Kramer continued running as fast as she could before reaching a small clearing in the middle of another strange forest. She could smell the scent of fresh cooked eggs from the distance, and found herself drawn to it. “Is anyone there?” Marta called out into the distance as she followed the scent. Soon she stumbled across a small campfire, one belonging to Charlotte and Ian. The two were wrapped in a large blanket, unclothed and in the middle of a passionate embrace as the noblewoman saw the woman approach. “It’s her, Ian!” Charlotte screamed, “They’ve found us!” Ian stared at Marta for a moment, struggling to remember who she was. “She looks familiar… I can’t recall…” Ian replied, “But I sense no ill-will from her. She only wants a place to rest.” Marta wondered how the man could forget who she was. Perhaps, she thought, he was one of the cursed souls. Charlotte wrapped a blanket around her body and handed Marta a small plate containing some eggs and sausage. “If Ian trusts you that’s good enough for me,” she said, “Please, eat. It‘s only one course, but…” “Oh thank you!” Marta said with glee as she began to eat, “It’s been so long since I’ve had a good meal.” “Ian is quite the chef, isn’t he? He‘s been cooking for the three of us for weeks…” “What do you mean?” “Ever since that horrible woman found us, we’ve been hiding in this forest. I don’t know how long it’s been, but it must have been several weeks so far.” Ian quickly dressed himself in the background as Charlotte spoke. “We’ve been very fortunate to have found a forest with so many plump birds. It’s exactly what the boy needs…” Marta placed her plate down on the ground as she heard a high-pitched crying could be heard from underneath the pile of blankets. Marta slowly walked towards the noise, and removed one of the covers to reveal a newborn baby boy resting on the forest floor. Charlotte picked up the child, and handed it to Marta. “This is little Kenneth,” the mother said, “…and what did you say your name was, again?”
I should note that I came up with the 'Charlotte's Baby Must Live/Die' idea by myself, indepdendent of Sandy. He merely read my post, and decided to tie this new character Jeanne to that. There isn't some master plan to this story idea, I'm merely making this stuff up and I go along. -Shy
The list of used actions is getting quite long, so you have to start using your imagination to get points from now on... I'll give you a hint, though: it begins with an "s" and ends with an "x", and has one vowel in between. ;P
But will that earn us death or life points? I need to know! I want to get one more life point. No more, no less. If I get any more than that I'll have to backtrack to earn death points. Ugh. -Shy

The right to own property often goes hand-in-hand with the right to privacy. If the cemetery was private property then the church group would have no legal authority to do what they did. Funerals for public figures are constantly protested, that's why most choose to have private services as opposed to a very public burial. I don't see the "right to mourn" outweighing the right to free speech. Family, friends and mourners have the ability to do so in private but a public funeral is just that: public. Just because someone offends you doesn't mean that they don't have the right to. You can't strip away individual rights just because some of them don't agree with you. The mourners should be allowed to reserve a certain amount of space for their funeral, just like people can do for a private party at a park. But I don't think it's fair to ban protests from any public space entirely. Next you're going to want to stop protesting at courthouses because people get married there. -Shy
-
I fully support the group's right to protest. I don't neccessarily agree with their tactics, but most cemeteries are private property. If the owner of the land doesn't want protesters on his property that should be the end of the discussion right there. If this church group wants to protest outside of the cemetary they should have the right to. You can't just pick and choose when and where you want people to protest. -Shy

The Kaijin is revealed. It is the "beast with a thousand faces" so to each character it will appear to be something different. For Cho Hee it was a centaur, but to Patrick it was a beautful woman. The Kaijin is drawn to characters with power cards, and could seemingly care less about the others. Why would a monster try to assemble all of the characters with power cards? Well, I'm sure you can figure it out... -Shy

Illyria transformed a small stone on the ground into a beautiful flower and handed it to Bellana. “Why thank you,” The Goddess replied with a smile, “It reminds me of the ones that once spread across this entire Earth.” Raone raised her eyebrow in suspicion, “And then what happened?” “I fell in love with a trickster. I soon found out they were not fields of blossoms, merely dirt, dust and bones...” She waved her hands over the flower, transforming it back into a stone. Bellana tossed it on the ground in anger. “Your gifts are deceptive, Illyria. Much like the beast of a thousand faces, The Kaijin…” “The Kaijin is merely a toy, Raone added, "For the most terrible monsters live in our heads.” Illyria sighed, “Or maybe... they live in our hearts...” Cho stepped through the doorway to find herself face to face with a strange and horrible creature. The top half of the beast’s body was that of a strong, dark-skinned young man, while his bottom half was that of a zebra. Never had she seen anything like this before, nor did she want to. The young girl immediately stopped in her tracks as the creature stared at her with a pair of glowing amber-colored eyes. “You are needed, Daughter of Bellana,” it said with a powerful, booming voice, “The Ragnarok draws ever-closer to its’ conclusion…” Cho Hee began to tremble slightly. “…What are you?” The beast extended its’ arm to the young woman. “There is no time to explain. You must not be afraid,” “Patrick!” In an instant Cho’s companion burst into the room. But instead of the centaur, Patrick saw a beautiful woman, totally nude save for well-placed flowers and vines covering her up. “Who are you?” Patrick said with a grin, “My name is Patrick, and this is Cho Hee…” The beautiful woman waved her hands dismissively, “I’ve no patience for you, child. You will join us on our quest, or you will perish.” “Quest?” Cho asked softly. “You can both refer to me as Kaijin,” it replied, “It was the name the Gods gave to me before they bound my spirit to this place.” “So we are in Hell…” Patrick said. “Not Hell, The Ragnarok. Fate has chosen each of you to fight for the Gods. Only one will survive, and from that Earth will be reborn.” Cho Hee and Patrick exchanged an uncomfortable glance. “Only one?” she asked. Her thoughts immediately turned to the boy who had tried to kill her earlier. Would Patrick turn on her as well? “All hope is not lost. There is one soul who was not accounted for when the game began, and perhaps from that your destiny can be altered. We must find the child.” Patrick wiped a single tear from his eye. “Kirima is dead, Kaijin. You’re too late.” The Kaijin laughed. “I speak of the aristocrat. Her child’s birth was never meant to pass. If it survives, the game will be irrevocably changed. For your future we must ensure its‘ birth.” “But we don’t know where the others are?” Cho asked, “How are we supposed to find them?” “You are blessed with the power of Bellana, and as such I was able to track you. Each of the Gods have placed their gifts onto souls within The Ragnarok… I can find their power. Charlotte is not blessed with such gifts, but she may be drawn to the others.” The Kaijin withdrew two swords, seemingly out of nowhere and handed them to Cho Hee and Patrick. “These are yours to wield; my gifts to you. You must protect one another if you hope to change your fate.” “Thank you, but how are we to trust you, Kaijin?” Cho asked nervously. There was an uncomfortable moment of silence. “You’ve no need to do anything, Daughter of Bellana. Your time here has only led to death. Allow me me to show you a different path.” Cho Hee and Patrick struggled under the enormous weight of the swords. The young man turned to Cho, and smiled. It was then that he felt a strange sensation overtaking his mind. Although Cho had always been beautiful, never before did he find her so captivating. Even the beautiful Kaijin suddenly paled in comparison to Cho. “I will do everything I can to protect you,” Patrick said confidently, “I swear on my life…“ Cho wondered why Patrick had suddenly turned so loyal, but she was much more curious about the Kaijin. She decided that she would hold tightly onto her sword, and be ready if the creature’s allegiances would shift.

Deathman is Dead Synopsis: A few loser "super"villains all vie for Deathman's special cloak, The Death Shroud, after his untimely passing at the hands of a terrible ER doctor who looks and sounds suspiciously like George Clooney. Style: Think Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, and you're getting there. It's irreverent, satirical, sarcastic, and slapstick at times. Takes familiar subject matter and skews it to all hell.
Deathman is Dead seems like a very strong concept, but I'm worried that you have already established the main characters and their personalities. While having a strong vision for where to take the story is a great thing, I wonder if having too much definition will discourage players from taking part in the story. By definition, OB RPGs are about creating and controlling a character that fits into the story that the RPG's creator makes. We've all discussed making RPGs that are story-based (as opposed to character-based,) but it would be interesting if one could ever truly succeed. Anyway, if you ever want to do Deathman is Dead just let me know. :p -Shy

I'm the first to admit that I don't know very much about music. Most of what I listen to is from four different artists, but just the same I find something fascinating about the power of music and celebrity. That in particular is something I'd like to explore more in RPGs. Although I envision Ro Sham Bo are more of an absurdist/sitcom look at it, as Vicky said the concept is open for a lot of different interpretations so that's kinda cool. Ladies of London has a lot of potential (although I do admit that the concept is a little dry.) I'd love to explore the reality television angle to the RPG, rather than it just be an excuse for big explosions and car chases. One of my favorite movies is "Network," and if you've ever seen that it probably gives you an idea of the kind of "Media is God" stories I'd like to tell. Plus, I really want to write about the LadyBoys of London, because I'm weird like that. I used to include music with my Kill Adam posts. I had a lot of fun doing that, and I think attaching a song with a post would be an excellent fit for Ro Sham Bo. That's definitely something I'd like to try, although it's difficult to know whether the current Arena would be up for it. There's also the matter of hosting music and including html, which turns into a big headache if you have the wrong people involved. Hopefully some other people post up some of their unused RPG ideas as well. I didn't intend this thread just to be a showcase for some of my concepts (but if it turns out like that so be it.) -Shy
I'm with 13th man. I also think that if the robot is indeed sentient, it's pretty messed up to call them inhuman. How would that make you feel? Come here, my poor little robot... I'll cheer you up....
Why would a robot want to be called human? I imagine that a sentient robot would take pride in being the technological marvel that they are. Calling them human almost seems like an insult. I'm Pro-Choice when it comes to robot sex. As far as I'm concerned people can do whatever they want to a robot as long as it consents (or its' manufacturer does. Hm.) -Shy
Pokemon.
I've always wanted to start the Poke-Cops RPG, but it's just one of those concepts that always gets sidetracked in favor of something else. With that RPG in particular I don't feel like I have any ideas for stories, just a clever concept. If a more die-hard Pokemon fan wanted to try and run the RPG, I'd be more than happy to let them do that. At the moment I'm more interested in a collaboration than running something by myself, anyway.
RPG Title: Ro Sham Bo [PG-LSV] Genre: Music/Adventure Setting: The world as we know it today, only more awesome. Basic Summary: Ro Sham Bo were the most popular band on Earth before retiring from the music scene to devote their lives to charity. After several years working to fight hunger and poverty the group realized how futile their efforts really were. It would take more than benefit concerts to save the world; if they wanted to create lasting change it would require something drastic. Using their legions of fans as a personal army, Ro Sham Bo have decided to change the world through covert military action. In addition to this, the group has an upcoming album and international tour planned as part of the biggest comeback of all time. Can Ro Sham Bo manage global conquest and groupies long enough to achieve their goals, or will a sexy U.N. Secretary General tear their band apart?
Allamorph: If you (or anyone) would like to talk about Time for Tea just drop me a PM. It's a fun enough concept, but like Poke-Cops I'm unsure of where exactly to go with it. Collaboration is a good thing. GuyYouMetOnline: Exploring the religious aspect of the Pokemon world sounds pretty interesting. It's not really something that has been explored much in the games and series, and there are a lot of different ways you could go with it. I'm interested to see how your idea turns out. -Shy

I have a lot of ideas for RPGs, but am aware that many of them are “weird.” As much fun as I might have coming up with these concepts, there is no way I could imagine any of them building much of a following in The Arena. For too long these ideas have sat dormant in my head. That ends today. I know you have ideas for RPGs that you are afraid to launch. This is your place to post and them, while also testing the waters of member interest. Who knows, maybe people will see your Naruto/Halo crossover RPG and demand that you create it right away!
RPG Title: Baron Von Donut and the Granola Gang [M-LSV] Genre: Action/Parody Setting: A stylized version of our world, where breakfast really is the most important meal of the day. Basic Summary: Baron Von Donut is the world’s most popular breakfast food mascot, but few know that he leads a double life solving mysteries and fighting crime with fellow mascots, the Granola Gang. Using their vast resources and years of training the Granola Gang are mankind's first line of defense against evil and injustice. Only by working together can they hope to keep the world safe from the likes of ne’er-do-wells such as Balanced Breakfast and The Cereal Killers. Also, Baron Von Donut is a giant, anthropomorphic donut. * * * * * RPG Title: Time for Tea [PG] Genre: Adventure/Fantasy Setting: The early 20th century, loosely inspired by Jules Verne, Fritz Lang and Wes Anderson. Most of the RPG would take place in the British Empire, almost exclusively India. Basic Summary: Following a powerful monsoon most of the world’s tea reserves have been destroyed. This, combined with the ever-expanding British Empire has made tea the most valuable substance on Earth. As a result, India has become a hotbed for merchants, criminals and aristocrats each desperate to claim some of the last remaining leaves for themselves. The Queen has personally dispatched several of her most talented and eccentric agents to the strange nation in hopes of finding a solution to the world’s tea shortage. Little do these brave men and women realize that they are being followed, and that this simple beverage is being used to balance the scales of global power.
So there you go. Have fun! -Shy
Truth be told, it's actually healthier for you to have it done.
There's actually not a lot of evidence to support that. Medical experts, at best, have yet to figure out whether circumcision actually does anything. It's possible that circumcision was first done to help decrease the risk of infection, but these days there is no medical need for the procedure. If you want to get it done, though, more power to you. There is actually a lot of evidence to suggest that circumcision can cause sexual dysfunction in men. Boo. -Shy

Illyria laughed with delight. In a game defined by greed and betrayal, it seemed comical that so many souls would fight on the side of angels. It was only a matter of time before their loose friendships would be tested to their limits. And when that happened, The God of Madness would be there to claim his victory. Ira watched helplessly from her side, trying to control the bleeding with a torn sheet as Ian frantically searched the building for an antidote. “Just stay conscious Charlotte,” Ira pleaded, “I’m sure Ian will come back soon.” “I lied, this is my fault..!” “What are you talking about?” “When we first came here, Kenneth asked me if I remembered dying. I told him no, but I do remember it. I remember everything… “There was to be a grand celebration in my honor, but a mob of peasants had overrun the estate. My husband made every attempt to protect me… still…” “I-- I‘m so sorry, Charlotte.” “You see, they were jealous of the life that I led. But it was never my choice to live that way, I was merely born into it! I had no more choice to live as a commoner than I did to live my life as a chicken. Why... I was even forced into my marriage. "We pleaded with them, begged even. My husband offered them the world for my safety, but even that wasn‘t enough to satisfy their thirst for blood. A revolution, they called it -- ha! What happened to me and my family was treason!” Charlotte coughed violently as she placed her cold, pale hand onto Ira’s. “Just hold on. You have to wait for Ian to return…” “The funny thing is, Ira, when I awoke in this strange place I thought it might have been Heaven. But how could a woman such as myself ever end up there?” “You don’t mean that, Charlotte. We’ve all done terrible things before in our lives; maybe this is a chance to change that.” The noblewoman nodded. “For my child’s sake, I hope so,” Ian searched frantically throughout the hospital for an antidote. Not only had never he never been to a hospital before, he had no idea what the potion might look like. It was hopeless, but with Ira unable to walk it was up to him to try and save Charlotte. “Where is this stupid thing?” Ian asked himself as he looked through a counter full of different glass vials, “How am I supposed to know what’s right?” It was then that a familiar, warm feeling overtook Ian’s body. The young man closed his eyes and confidently grabbed one of the vials from the counter. Self-assured, although he didn’t understand why, he rushed back to Charlotte’s side with the potion in hand. “Did you find it, Ian?” “Yes, here. Give it to her now!” Charlotte quietly drank the liquid and began to cough. Within a moment the woman’s bleeding began to stop. “I.. I think it’s working…” Charlotte said faintly as she reached for Ian‘s hand, “But I need… I need to rest…” Ian embraced the woman tightly. “Just lay there. We’ll make sure to watch after you.” Within a few moments Charlotte was fast asleep, her head filled with dreams of her deceased husband. Ira, now placed on a wheelchair with Ian’s help, sat comfortably as Ian paced back and forth across the small hospital room. “That was amazing of you, she seems to be recovering,” Ira said proudly, “How did you know which vial to pick?” Ian narrowed his eyes. “That’s the thing. I didn’t. I simply closed my eyes and just… picked one.” “You’re joking, right?” “It was the only thing I could do. Since coming here it seems like I’ve just had a… sense about these things.” “Well whatever you did it seems to have worked.” “…I guess so.” “Ian, do you remember dying?” “What?” Ira wheeled over to Ian’s side, “Charlotte says she remembers dying, just like I do. Do you think we’re in Hell?” “I don’t know where we are, Ira… I can barely even remember who I am anymore...” The woman reached for Ian's hand and kissed it tenderly, "Then we'll have to find this out together, won't we?"
