1. We have the [report bad post] button for a reason, yo. There's nothing wrong in taking a certain degree of ownership over your threads (or the boards in general.) However, it's those overzealous non-staff members with a sense of duty/entitlement who end up creating more problems for the community than most spammers do. -Shy Edit: How about O-pog-uBoards? We could discuss way cool pogs and slammers or something.
2.
"Once we get out of the forest's cover we'll be sitting ducks," Shy grumbled as he and Tiana charged through the thick forest brush. Tiana swung her keyblade furiously, striking down the oncoming gargoyles with an amzing show of skill. "You doing okay, Tee?" "Oh, you know... look out!" Tiana tackled Shy to the ground as a large stone flew past his head. The two crashed against the forest floor, and with a loud 'CRASH!' fell into a deep hole that opened below them. The two plummeted lower and lower into the Earth, eventually crashing into a large pile of hay some thirty feet underground. Sore from the impact of their fall, Shy struggled to stand. Tiana spoke a few arcane syllables and instantly her keyblade let out a feint glow, lighting the small pit they had fallen into. "You doing okay, Tee?" "Great," Tiana said sarcastically as she picked herself up off of the ground, "I'm only disappointed there weren't more gargoyles waiting for us when we reached the bottom of... whatever this is." The two surveyed the cramped hole around them. Ancient writings were scrawled onto stone walls around them, although both Tiana and Shy had no idea how to translate them. "If Allam we're here...." Shy sighed. "If Allam we're here we wouldn't have enough room to stand. What is this place, anyway?" Shy traced his fingers along the engravings, featuring various monsters and magical symbols. "It looks like some kind of burial pit." "Or maybe an ancient monster trap." "That would make sense," Shy replied, "This whole area is normally the royal hunting grounds..." The two shared a moment of silence. "...You know, when an evil sorceress hasn't taken control of the entire kingdom." "We really need to move to a different kingdom when this whole thing is over." "Do you think..." Shy begin to question, "Do you think there's even a way out of here?" Tiana raised her keyblade triumphantly. "That we can find out pretty easily. This isn't called a keyblade for nothing." The keyblade began to change colors randomly, a magical light extending from the tip of the weapon and lighting up the ancient stone carvings. Instantly several of the symbols lit up at once, and a hidden stone door slid open behind them. Shy raised his eyebrown in disbelief. "That was... convenient." "Save your sarcasm for when we reach the other side of this tunnel. Nothing is ever as easy as it seems here." The two Argos began to head down the narrow tunnel, unsure of where it would lead them.
3.
Shy: Jade Fox is also the name of one of the main characters in the movie "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon." This is bad.[/COLOR']
This was not intentional, but I will change her name to Ghost Fox. No problemo. -Shy
4. Ghost Fox's story will begin with a failed 'training mission' to kill off one of the other players. (I don't who I am going to target yet; I'm looking for cooperation from the player. Volunteers are welcome.) Anyway, it will be revealed that she was given misleading information from her superiors, and their betrayal will lead to the deaths of all of her pupils. Unsure of where to turn and who to trust, Ghost Fox will seek vengeance on her boss using whatever means are neccessary. -Shy
5.
Name: Known only to her superiors. Gender: Female Callsign: Ghost Fox Age: 34 (Born in 2065) Chinese Zodiac Sign: Rooster Organization of Choice: The Brotherhood of Infinite Longevity Function: Former legendary assassin. Ghost Fox now recruits and trains the next generation, often going to extreme means to do so. Appearance: Ghost Fox is a beautiful Chinese women of average height and build for her ethnicity. However, she is easily recognized by her trademark jade tunic, cape, and thigh-high boots. When on a mission or training her pupils Ghost Fox wears a jade-colored domino mask. Only her superiors have seen her without the mask. Weapon of Choice: Twin pistols. Ghost Fox is an expert in hand-to-hand combat, but prefers to use those skills only when neccessary. Her right hand, which was cut off during a failed hit, has been replaced with a virtually indestruble cybernetic model. Biography: Ghost Fox was born to wealthy aristocratic parents in Hong Kong, shortly before the third World War. As a girl she was trained in a wide variety of martial arts, all while being prepared for a life worthy of her bloodline. It was in her final year of school that her parents were assassinated for political reasons and her secret family fortune was claimed by the Chinese government. The road that drove Ghost Fox from her life in Hong Kong to the role of an assassin in San Francisco is largely unknown. After years of service to The Brotherhood of Infinite Longevity Ghost Fox was given a new mission: to recruit and train new assassins for the organization. Ghost is uncertain of her own qualifications for the position, but gladly accepted the role and the power that came with it. Personality: Ghost Fox is an intense and emotional woman with a superiority complex. Her aristocratic upbringing has given Ghost Fox a sense of entitlement, and instantly creates a conflict of interest with her superiors. Former heads of The Brotherhood of Infinite Longevity have given into Ghost Fox's unpredictable behavior, giving her great influence over the organization in the past. After a bloody and violent coup an unpredictable new leader has taken the reigns of The Brotherhood. This new leader has a score to settle with Ghost Fox. It is uncertain whether or not she will become aware of this fact before it is too late. Edit: Changed name to Ghost Fox, since Jade Fox is apparently a character in CTHD. Whoops. -Shy
6. I think we should change the name to ObamaBoards, and focus entirely on American presidential candidate Barack Obama. We would have to change the forum structure accordingly, but I don't think the current staff would take issue with their reassignments. Otaku Lounge could be used to discuss his stance on the war, while our Creative Works area could become mini-shrines focusing on Obama fan-fiction and wallpapers. Is that better, Alan? -Shy
7.
Shy sighed as they began their trek into Aria's darkest forest. Ancient trees spread up into the air, seemingly forever, their canopies obscuring almost all light. It was only late in the afternoon, but inside these woods it looked like midnight. Tiana shuddered from the cold as they continued walking the through dense brush, guided only by their compass and a largely incomplete map they were able to purchase in the town square. This would only be the first stwp in the two young heroes' question to the Aria Kingdom's great castle. Most land in Aria was uninhabitable; thick swamps, dense forests and vast deserts blanketed the and. As a result Aria was sparsely populated, and it seemed that they would encounter friendly faces on their journey across the land. In order to protect the great King, his castle was placed in seclusion. Castle Sandy was only accessible by powerful magics, and the bravest adventurers. Shy was far from a stranger to Aria, but the kingdom's reliance on magic was something he would never be quite used to. His adventuring partner Tiana, who he had only met recently, seemed much more comfortable in this world of sorcerery. After all, with each new adventure Tiana seemed to unlock more power and secrets from his enchanted weapon, the Keyblade. "I feel we stepped into this quest without much thought," Shy muttered to himself, struggling to free his boot from the thick mud and brush. "Nonsense, Shy," Tiana said confidently, "We are Argos, Aria's greatest protectors. If anyone is going to save this kingdom it's going to be us." "I only wish Allam were here, or Zeke, or any of the others. Our many failures have cost us a great deal of members." "All the more reason why we need to... oh dear." Tiana stared at her compass for a moment, terribly confused. "What's wrong, Tiana." "The compass... it's... spinning." "Is it broken?" "I don't think compasses break like this." The two began to inspect the compass, ignoring the sounds of the forest around them drawing closer and closer. Tiana's Keyblade let out a feint glow. "Magic!" She yelled in surprise, "Something is trying to keep us from finding Castle Sandy." "Morgwyn, I imagine." "If that's the case, we may be in trouble. We're still a good ways from the castle." "I hate magic." Suddenly a loud roar could be heard from directly behind them. Tiana dropped the compass from surprise, and drew her Keyblade. It was then they saw it: A massive, hulking beast with gray hide and a disfigured human face. Shredded clothing covered its body, hiding various scars and wounds. The monster stared at the two Argos and let out a faint growl as it approached. "This isn't good." "Speak for yourself, Shy. Hiking was getting boring anyways." Shy turned towards the creature, pulling a pair of small daggers from his pack. "Yoooouuuuu.... arr.... lossssst." The beast screamed. The power of the creature's voice echoed thorughout the deep woods. It lowered its head and lunged towards Shy with its powerful arms. Shy attempted to roll out of the way, but quickly realized that his foot was still stuck in the mud. He threw both his daggers at the creature, jamming them deep into the beast's shoulder and chest but completely unaffecting it. The creatured continued his charge, and Shy braced himself for the worst. Tiana grabbed Shy by the collar, and at the last moment managed to push them both out of the creature's path. The beast continued charging, unable to stop its own momentum, and slammed into one of the nearby trees, managing to knock it over with the powerful impact. "Lossssttt.... soldier...." The beast continued repeating the phrase as it struggled to stand. Tiana's keyblade began glowing even brighter, and she prepared herself for another strike from the beast. "Grey skin, smashes trees, knife proof." she said with a small grin, "Sound like anyone we know?" "Maybe we can find out... if he doesn't tear apart the rest of this forest first." "Forget the forest, Shy. I'm worried about us."

8.
Is there an article about OBChat? I feel like that's where Juuthena came from.[/size']
You are correct! Juu was a former moderator of OBChat (Although I should use that term loosely. I don't think any real moderation was ever done in the chat rooms.) I know a couple of former members here were also staff members for OBChat, although I can't think of anyone other than Juu. The Wayback Machine isn't providing much help in this area, either, since I don't think the chat moderators were ever listed on the site. I imagine Adam might have a list of old chat moderators, seeing as he hired them all. -Shy

That's all I could find about him.
I have nothing to contribute here, but I would like to point out that his profile says his interests are 'hunting and gathering' and 'pyrotechnics.' This amuses me to no end for some reason. As I recall there were a lot of threads in the Yaoi Forum about Zeh and his banning. I'm sure those would probably be more accurate than any of our memories are on the subject. -Shy
10. Are all of the team's various players supposed to have their characters interact with one another, or should we look at this as four separate RPGs with the same setting taking place in the same thread? -Shy
11. I'm going to try and write up an article for all of my Otaku Events. The first one is The Legionnaires. It's enormous as it is, but I know I left a lot of details out. Anyone who would like to add/edit this... please, feel free! The Legionnaires ?The Legionnaires? was an RPG-style event created by Shy for the Community Events forum on August 7th, 2005. This was one of the largest and most ambitious RPGs in the boards? history, featuring 36 players and 8 story threads. The basic premise of ?The Legionnaires? is that The Legionnaires are the world?s greatest heroes. An odd assembling of mercenaries, the organization is sent throughout the world on strange and exciting missions by their mysterious leader, The Arbiter. These players were split up into multiple ?teams,? each assigned to a specific story thread to complete a ?mission.? The basic concept of the mission was private messaged to that team?s leader in a ?mission briefing,? and contained information such as the location and what needed to be accomplished. The team leader would then have the option of adding to the mission briefing if necessary before forwarding that message to the rest of their teammates. Originally mission briefings also contained an assigned posting order, but this was terribly unpopular among the players and removed entirely as the event progressed. While each individual ?mission? could be read as a self-contained story, the entire RPG contained multiple plotline weaving in and out of the various threads. While individual team members changed from mission to mission, team leaders remained in their respective threads throughout the course of the event. The only way for a team leader to leave the thread would be if their character were killed off, or if the player resigned from the event. Ordinary players could have their characters killed off in the ?Body Bags? thread, which was to take place after the completion of each team?s individual missions. Various problems in the organization of the event started to show themselves almost immediately. While the sign-up form to join the event required that the player designate what Arena Thread Rating their writing may fall into (Mature, Parental Guidance, or Everyone) few who included this information did so accurately. As a result the initial teams? organization created many creative and interpersonal conflicts, most notably in the Red Team?s first mission. Meanwhile, the rate at which members posted was very irregular. Some teams posted very frequently, while others hardly posted at all. (It should be noted that the posting rates in threads were on-par with the success/failure rate of most Arena RPGs at the time.) Not all players were invited to participate in the first round of missions, creating even more voices of dissent for something that had only just begun. Afraid of losing players, the Green Team was created as an afterthought. As a result the original ?Body Bags? player elimination did not include every team, only the three which had originally completed their respective missions by that time. More often than not players were eliminated for their infrequent, or complete lack of posting. This was a far cry from the suspenseful and seemingly random way player elimination had been originally envisioned for the event. The first (and only) round of ?Body Bags? was completed on December 15th, 2005. Immediately following that sign-ups opened for a humorous anecdote to ?The Legionnaires?? depressing tone, ?Hero Patrol.? While the story for ?Hero Patrol? took place in the same universe as ?The Legionnaire? there was no plan to connect the two stories in any significant way. Before posting in "Hero Patrol" even began interest in the event as a whole to faded. Several team missions went weeks without posts, while the "Silver Team Mission Thread" died entirely. While the various stories seemed unconnected ?The Arbiter? thread in OB Anthology served as a way to reinforce the main storyline, which would eventually have led to the downfall of The Legionnaires group within the story. Limited only by their imagination various players contributed short stories, poems and other writings focusing on their individual characters. Shy, the event?s creator, posted exclusively in this thread as well as in ?Body Bags.? Lack of momentum eventually doomed the event, although many still hold out hope for an ultimate conclusion for the stories and characters contained. The last official story post was in the ?Green Team Mission Thread? by group leader DeathKnight on July 16th, 2006. That thread, and various others related to ?The Legionnaires? remain unfinished to this day. 12. Archive.org has a decent amount of archived OB pages, if nothing else this should give everyone a starting place to assemble a *complete* listing of OB staff. Was anyone close enough to Transtic Nerve to write an Otakupedia entry for him? Charles and I both want to write one for him, but it would be largely incomplete using what little information we remember about him. Any help would be greatly appreciated. -Shy
13. #4 is Inu-Yasha. I win! -Shy
14. I don't understand, what kind of RPG is this? -Shy :p
15. Here is a link to the MIDI, and here is a link to the music video. -Shy
16. On a related note, when are you going to post the updated Arena rules? I hope I didn't write them up for nothing, Jamesdog. -Shy
17. I love the flashing one, and I'll look into finding a MIDI version of YMCA for us. I'm glad everyone likes the lyrics, because honestly I felt pretty disappointed with how they turned out. There is plenty of room for tweaks and stuff, if that's neccessary. -Shy
18. Apologies, I thought I had already sent out a PM to both of you with my lyrics. It's sent out now, though. Sorry about that. -Shy
19. White, you're fired. -Shy
20. Silly rabbit. Underground and the Inn should be one forum. Beyond that, I approve. Good work everyone. -Shy
21. I'm working on revising the lyrics as well. This challenge is much more difficult than I expected, heh. I hope to have my semi-done lyrics PM'd tonight. As for graphics, maybe something 70's-disco-ish? -Shy
22. Just PM your rough lyrics, and KW and I will work on them while you are away. My hope would be to finish these lyrics up as soon as possible, so is it alright if we post them before you come back? -Shy
23. What changes (if any) do you think the forum structure needs? Otaku Media - Anime Lounge - Hardwired - Music, Movies, TV and Books Otaku Community - Community Events - Otaku Lounge - Suggestions & Feedback Otaku Creative - Literary Square - - The Underground - Otaku Games - Art Studio - - Art by Request Otaku Archive - Anime Archives - Gaming Archives - Arena Archives What new sites would you add to the OB Network? I think fleshing out user profiles some more would kind of kill the need for dedicated pictures site. I don't know if we really have the option to do something like that in VB, but just allowing members to upload multiple photos for their profile, and making the profile itself more detailed would be great. Maybe you could have one central profile for the network, which anyone could access via OB, myO or the fan art sites. As for dedicated sites, I think something along the lines of what 'The Nexus' would be interesting, especially since so many consoles are pushing for online stuff. We could organize forum-wide Halo battles or something, I dunno... I've always had a lot of fun playing Mario Kart DS against my fellow Otakus. At the very least I'd like somewhere to leave my Wii number on my user profile. Should OB Network provide a free hosting service to members for their own personal sites? If you have your own personal site, would you consider having it hosted by OtakuBoards? I don't really see a need for this, and it seems like it would create more headaches for Adam, Justin, etc. than anything else. If there are people actively looking over these sites, and watching out for illegal or adult content, sure. Obviously 'adult' myOtaku sites sites are few and far between, but I'm still cautious to see what that community could do with more free web space. Comments/Suggestions

More skins, obviously, but this is a complaint that people have had with the site for as long as I can remember. Perhaps our various artists could work together to come up with a custom skin, or we could have teams create competing skins. That seems like a really cool idea for an event, actually. White should take note.
More frequent rotation of staff members. Nobody is doing a bad job in their current position, but nothing spurs activity and interest like a new set of moderators. There are a lot of great members out there who deserve the opportunity to step up and take a leadership position within the community. Why not give them a shot?
Dump the jukebox. Does anyone actually use it?
More connectivity/interactivity between theOtaku and OtakuBoards.
Beyond those my other suggestions are kind of vague. I'd like to see a renewed focus on 'fun' in the forums, which I feel the addition of a games forum would help. -Shy
24. My suggestion would be 'Eye of the Tiger,' which was the theme song for the Rocky movies. It's a very exciting song, and I have a few ideas for how we could play with the lyrics. While I'm a big Green Day fan, I think the trick here is to find the most ridiculous song we can and twist it in our favor. Billie Jean isn't a bad idea. How about Y.M.C.A.? I'm only partially kidding... A-R-G-O! -Shy
25. When is the final product due? Also, congrats on 5 years at OB Sandy. Can you believe how long we've been here? Scary! -Shy
