okay so I have become a perler bead addict over the last week and my brother told me that I should sell them so I set up a page on livejournal, but I am am a little worried about it because the designs aren't MINE and I dont know if I should make money off of them. I don't know how to pixelate pictures, so I just look up perler bead designs on google images and copy the ones other people have done... but it wasn't their character either, so i'm not really strealing from them. Plus I am only charging for the labor and the supplies. For large pics, you go through a ton of beads xD tell me what you think plz anyone else really into them right now? and what was your hardest project or the one you love the most?
My friend Tony goes through phases with perler beads and he has a lot of fun with it. There are countless websites that sell perler bead art, like Etsy, so I don't think it's a big deal if you sell a perler bead version of Donkey Kong or something. If you have a camera I'm sure everyone would love to see some of your work! - Shy
  3. I've never been a fan of MMORPGs, but this really interests me. Star Wars is a huge passion of mine, and I'm eager to learn more about this era in the Star Wars Universe. Non-Jedi FTW. I'm hoping that the classes allow a great deal of customization in terms of races and abilities. -Shy
  4.
Regarding any future Almagest RPGs, Shy, are you intending to just start one or will we do what we did here and create a Backstage topic first?
I'll likely be starting a new thread Backstage before I move onto a new Almagest RPG. In the meantime I'm thinking about a couple of different RPGS to do next. I'd like to create a clean break from this story to the next one, so I'm looking to do something 'new' before moving forward with the next chapter in the Almagest story. I'll definitely be looking for feedback when we get to that point, though. -Shy
  5. Suggestions:

Why is there no mechanism to remove excess ice from a glass? I have been a bartender for several years, and my natural instinct is to shake the extra ice out of the glass. If you could somehow make that a feature I would love it, ecause I find myself overdoing the ice just barely and it drives me insane.
Why can't I salt or sugar the rims of glasses?! WHY!?
I need to be able to use a blender. It's driving me insane.
-Shy Edit: I thought it would be a good idea to create a suggestions topic that is separate from the "bugs" topic. Bugs are just things that actually aren't working in the game as it is now, whereas here, we can suggest further improvements/enhancements that we'd like to see. I'm in love with you, Josh. - James

I try to befriend you on Faceplace and you ignore me. I'm crying now, Darren. Thanks a lot.

  7. Posted! Brief, but it pushes things along in a big way. It looks like things are starting to heat up as we're reaching the end of our crawl. I'll let James handle the rest of the mine stuff. As for me, I'm going to address what's going on with the Czenovians and Anovans..... Also: Thanks for all of the formatting help, James. I know it as kind of driving me insane for a while there. -Shy
  8. [blockquote] Victoria was shaken by the events of the day, and they still raced through her mind as they drove to the Villette Mines. Even through the events of the Czenovian Revolution she had been supportive of her grandfather, despite the terrible news that had come to light regarding his business practices and unethical scientific experiments. She was one of the few who had done so, and now after seeing him attack Gustave she had no idea what to think. If I only could speak with Leonhart, Victoria Ann thought, Perhaps I could convince him to stop whatever he was planning. â??Iâ??m sorry that we had to send your friend home, but Bea insisted.â? Cole said as he adjusted one of his cuff links, â??With so much going on at the moment itâ??s in bad form to be entertaining guests, anyway. Especially a child.â? She cringed as Cole spoke. Victoria Ann was a very bright girl, but aside from a handful of classmates at CHAOS Academy there was hardly anyone her own age that she could call a friend. She had always felt much more comfortable spending time with adults like Gustave, or even Fauntleroy; despite the large difference in their ages neither of them had ever talked down to Victoria Ann. â??How do you know what youâ??re going to be looking for in the mines, Cole? You donâ??t even know what the artifacts look like.â? â??I donâ??t really expect to find them today. But I want to oversee the new security measures Iâ??ve ordered, and make sure that nobody else is able to get their hands on them before I do.â? â??Like Leonhartâ?¦.â? Cole placed his hand on Victoria Annâ??s shoulder, â??Youâ??re maybe too young to understand this, but power can do terrible things to great men and women. I think your grandfatherâ??s health is affecting his personality, and pushing his obsession over these artifacts even more.â? The sun set over the mines as the two pulled onto the dirt road that led directly to Coleâ??s small office. A security guard waved the vehicle in, and Victoria Ann peered out of the window to notice a small army of guards surrounding the expansive perimeter of the mines. â??Do you really need all of this? Heâ??s so old.â? â??Itâ??s not just your grandfather Iâ??m worried about. There are people of power and privilege who would do anything to get to the mines. Iâ??m not taking any chances.â?   Fauntleroy looked out over the Villette Mines as he approached by foot. He reached into his coat pocket, pulling out one of several photographs he had concealed from Charles and his family. It showed two figures facing one another in that exact same spot at sunset; Fonty could recognize one as himself, but the other was much less certain. He checked his pocket watch; only a few more moments and the sun would be exactly where it was in a photograph. â??If I may be frank, I was expecting to cross paths with you much sooner, but now will have to do,â? a familiar voice called from behind, â??Itâ??s just like you to show up late to the party, isnâ??t it, Fauntleroy?â? â??Iâ?¦ I know what you have planned. Donâ??t you realize what will happen if you go through with it?â? â??Of course I do. Iâ??ve had plenty of time to think this through, and itâ??s the only way to ensure Czenoviaâ??s continued prosperity.â? â??Czenoviaâ??s, or your own?â? â??I have nothing to answer to you. Youâ??re a spoiled child. Youâ??ve never been able to understand me or what Iâ??ve been trying to create. You have no vision for the future.â? â??Of course I do. I know exactly whatâ??s about to happen.â? â??Your remarkable camera, you mean?â? he paused for a moment, â??What do you think it says, exactly?â? â??Political turmoil, a great war, the fall of the Almagests. We can avoid all of these things right now. I know youâ??re not going to kill me, Iâ??ve seen that I live past this day.â? â??Is that so?â? The figure slowly opened up their trenchcoat, revealing a small pocket mirror. â??Weâ??re alchemists, Fonty, not murderers. Iâ??m trying to save everyone too.â? He angled the mirror just so as to reflect the last bit of sunlight into Fontyâ??s eyes, blinding him momentarily. Fonty opened them again to discover the man's face was gone, instead replaced with a mirrored image of himself. Identical in every way.   â??What is this? What have you done?â? â??Donâ??t you see? Iâ??ve stolen your face. Simple glamour alchemy,â? he said, placing the mirror back into his coat and withdrawing a pistol, â??So all in all, I guess youâ??re right. Fauntleroy Almagest will survive the day, certainly. But you wonâ??t.â?[/blockquote]
  9.
I've updated the first post in this topic to try to fix up the issues that occurred when the software changed. You guys will notice that your old posts don't look quite like they used to - that's just because some of the formatting for the site has changed now. I won't be going back to edit all of my old posts, so they will just have to stay that way. But any new posts I make will be formatted correctly. I did want to try to fix up the opening post in this topic a bit though, since we'll be referring to it quite a bit. There are still a couple of little changes I want to make, but so far, so good. What's next? Is anyone interested in moving this RPG along any further?
I need to post next and wrap up the Czenovia characters or the Anova characters. Beyond that, someone should work on posting about the mines and what's going to go down there. If you wan to do that James, that's awesome. Otherwise I'll try to handle everything in a multi-post. -Shy

    Toy Story 3

I really loved this film. It had been so long since I saw the first two that I'm not sure how they compare, but this was easily the most powerful and entertaining film I've seen in ages. I'm really eager to see it again. Spoiling anything about it would be a crime, so I'd rather not go into any specifics. See the dang movie already! -Shy
  13.

Perhaps there should be a forum for 'Anime News' and and a forum for 'General Anime Discussion.' If there were some way to include news stories from theOtaku's main page that would be fantastic, but simply reposting those stories on our site would probably generate discussion from members who don't visit theO on a regular basis. You could also discuss upcoming anime that hasn't been released yet, and convention information (and meet-ups.) General Discussion would be for... general discussion. Do I have to spell it out to you?
I say that we don't bother with an anime thread listing anymore. I think limiting all discussion on certain popular series to a single thread ultimately hinders the types of discussions one can have. For older series this makes sense, but I don't think the activity of the forum really justifies needing to keep everything to organized. Having moderated the anime forums in the past I can say it's not a huge strain.
Also, I think sub-forums by their very nature are going to be less popular than a full forum on the main page. If you want to make a FMA or Shonen Jump forum and give it a chance, make it a full forum that's easily visible from the main OB page. -Shy
14.
Tonight, i was feeling rather nostalgic. I just graduated high school and was thinking back to earlier days when I remembered the fact that for about 3 years of my life I loved anime. I remembered theotaku.com so popped on there, and then saw the link for otakuboards. I still remembered my log in and lo and behold it worked! I joined in '03 back when I was 12 years old and in the 6th grade. I remember I was really worried about what people would think of me so I didn't post too much. I did make a few friends here, and do have fond memories of this board. It's strange to be back here though. Could anyone tell me what happened to these boards? The way I remember it, there used to be anywhere from 20-100 people on at any given point, but now it seems like that is not the case.
The short of it is that OtakuBoards has always suffered from a bit of a personality disorder. The anime fan community has taken very well to social media, so I think the same people who would have posted on OB five years ago are now busy making tribute music videos and discussing their favorite shows on those sites. We're still pretty busy, and this new version has inspired a lot of new activity, it's just not in the same places it used to be. I joined in '01 when I was in my first year of high school, and I've been here ever since. I'd say the majority of our active member base has been posting for 5+ years, so we've gotten very close in some ways. -Shy

  18. I like the rectangular avatars. I feel like they're a pleasant throwback to a simpler time (version.) I don't see why both can't co-exist in harmony, but I do suspect if you give people the option of using a full 150x150 they are going to make a point of using it. -Shy
Is it just my mac or like half of the users' fonts on OB now so tiny you can't read them without zooming in three time or squinting??
Yeah, I've been using size 1 font on OB for like 8 years, but I think I'm going to have to go up a size or two for this new version. -Shy
  24. I'm using Wet Paint, but both of the skins have too much white space for me. I'm sure as time goes on the new skins will make better use of this space, though. -Shy
