I loved this movie! It has been a good 12 hours since I've seen it, but I still can't get over how amazing it was. The violence was a little extreme, like when
The Bride fought the Crazy 88
, but it worked perfectly in the context of the film. From the opening scene to the last line of dialogue, everything just managed to mesh together perfectly. I'm having a little trouble trying to describe this movie, but I highly recommend it to anyone who isn't overly offended by movie violence. Kill Bill Volume 2 is only a few months away, hooray! -Shy

"I... I saw Tori," I said to Ken, trying to remove the slight hint of fear in my voice. Why does this stuff always happen to me? The first bedroom I walk into has naked Tori in it, doesn't anyone know how to lock a door these days? I explained to Ken that I had caught Tori in a compromising position, and that only managed to fuel his curiosity. "Compromising, eh?" Ken said with a grin on his face, attempting to push me aside and open the door behind me, ?It?s a good thing you walked in on Tori, one of the others might enjoy that sort of thing.? I struggled with him as he attempted to force himself through the door, but after a few minutes he gave up and wandered down the hall. I immediately sat down, embarrassed from my encounter. This was not the best way to start a living arrangement, especially with someone I had known for as long as Tori. ?At least it was good to see her again.? I thought to myself as I banged my head against the wall, ? Even if it was a little too much.? Now seemed like a good time to find my bedroom. Some of the housemates hadn?t arrived yet, and I definitely didn?t want to get stuck with a bad roommate. I lived with my brother for 16 years, and didn?t want a repeat of that fiasco. The long hallways in the mansion were making me a little homesick. They reminded me of the empty hallways that I saw every night, working late on the school newspaper, or the hidden tunnels beneath Disneyland. Maybe I was just being sentimental, but a new house full of new people felt so foreign to me at the time. From across the hallway a familiar, brown-haired girl was staring at me. I looked at her for a second, and then shouted out,"Hello Sara/Cera/Girl." She smiled, and slowly walked over to me. She outstretched her hand, which held a small white tin full of mints, "I believe these belong to you." Upon further inspecion I noticed the tin read "Donald Duck mints." I laughed, remembering when I sent her the package a few days earlier. It was a combination of a going away and welcome home present... ergh, we're just weird like that. "Have you found a room yet?" She asked, glancing at the pile of bags near my feet, "I think there's an open room or two in the left wing." "Wing?" I asked, "I've never been to any place that needed to divide itself into 'wings.' How are we going to afford this again?" "I'm not entirely sure, actually. Jenna said she got a good price on this place, and with all of us pulling in some sort of income it shouldn't be too much of a problem," "I still need to find a job. Those Donald Duck mints are going to be the last you'll see for a while; I had to take a leave of abcense from Disneyland until the year is over." "Oh, I'm sorry--" "Don't worry about it. I needed to take some time off to focus on my studies anyways. That darn degree isn't going to earn itself, but considering the tuition prices I'm paying it should." She laughed at my bad joke, just like old times, and we started looking for our rooms.

Age: 20 (Ugh, I can't believe how old I'm getting.) Hometown: Rancho Cucamonga, SoCal Any Pets?: No. Attached or Single?: Single, sadly. Brief Life History: Josh found himself living in a rut of sorts. School and work were growing increasingly repetitive, and he needed a nice escape from it all. One day at Disneyland he bumped into a young woman named Jenna, and the two soon became good friends. Through Jenna he managed to meet all sorts of great people, many of whom he is sharing a house with now. (As James pointed out, I'd like to keep my backstory vague so that other people won't have to worry about continuity when writing about me.) Personality Traits: Loves: Staying up late and sleeping in even later, all forms of animation, hanging out with friends, journalism, working on new projects, employee discounts and benefits for working at Disneyland, DISNEYLAND, Jenna (Both the car and the lady,) people who are open-minded, battles of nerd trivia, moderating online communities, sexy accents. Dislikes: People who like the sound of their own voice, people who are too forceful in their beliefs/ideals, vanity, loud noises and music, slow mergers on the freeway, bias in the media, poor spelling and grammar, camping, younger brothers, Disneyland Annual Passholders (not you, Jenna!) Josh is the quiet one in a group; it helps him blend in with a wide variety of people, but it usually prevents him from creating intimiate relationships. He is the oldest of three children (and countless step-children) so he likes to set a good example for everyone else. This makes him seem a little uptight, but the truth is that he likes to goof off as much as everyone else. He finds it easier to learn about people from individual conversations, and that's where most of his friendships began. His lack of social experience makes him a feel a little awkward at parties and such, but overall Josh is a friendly person. Appearance: *to be edited soon* -Shy
Originally posted by Krademon Graphic novels?
Yes, the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is based on a comic book mini-series of the same name. It's widely regarded as one of the best comics ever created, and managed to receive acclaim in the literary community as well as the comics sub-culture. Go and read some; you'll be pleasantly surprised by the differences between the movie and comics. I thought that this film had a lot of potential, but Sean Connery destroyed it. I had no complaints with his character, but it just felt like "Sean Connery presents LXG" rather than an ensemble film based around a team. Too much emphasis was put on Alex Quartermain from the beginning of the film, and I found allo f the other sub-plots much more interesting. It's not a terrible movie, but nobody should watch it expecting the thing to profoundly change their lives. LXG is just a typical comic book movie, I suppose. -Shy

My parents have never set a curfew on me, since I'm a "good kid." They are a little zealous about knowing where I am at all times, though. Because of that I try to always leave a note, even if it's incredibly vague. "Hanging out with friends," is enough to keep them happy. -Shy

I used to watch this show all of the time, it was one of Nick's better game shows (along with Double Dare, and Nick Arcade.) I didn't want to be on that show because of the final part of the game, where you have to run around inside the temple to get piece of a medallion or something. There were these people inside the temple who jump out and grab you, they scared the heck out of me. -Shy

I'm sorry, but this sort of thread is not allowed in our forums, and you would know that by reading our Anime Forum Rules or OtakuBoards General Rules. This topic is closed, and if you do anyhing like this again you will be banned. -Shy

Yeah, I'm sorry that I let this thread get so out of hand. I haven't seen one post in here that is of a decent quality. Everyone needs to read the rules, and try to maintain some semblance of post quality in this forum. Topic closed. -Shy

I work as a ride operator on the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh at Disneyland. I started working in June after having a conversation with DeathKnight (Ken.) Disneyland is my real job, and even though I have to drive an hour and a half to work I couldn't be happier. It's a great experience to work at the happiest place at worth; every day something new and interesting happens. Most of the time it involves the guests saying or doing something funny, which happens quite often. My pay isn't great, but the benfits more than make up for it. -Shy
Originally posted by WW2 What Batman movie is this for, again?
Catwoman is getting her own solo film, and this project has been in the works longer than Batman 5. I'm surprised that the thing has finally gotten off the ground, but this photo only makes me depressed. They are just trying to market Catwoman as a sex symbol, and completely throwing away anything related to the comics. This isn't even Selina Kyle, this version of Catwoman is a totally new character with a backstory unrelated to the original DC character. There is an excellent Catwoman comic series out right now, and I highly recommend it to anyone who respects the character and/or likes good stories. Hopefully the new Batman project will be more promising than this. -Shy

Anime any of you know where to find songs for trigun and sonic x?
Shy replied to a topic in Otaku Central
There are plenty of places online to purchase OST's for Trigun and Sonix X. A simple google search for "Anime Soundtracks" should help you find a site. Anyone who can help you out should feel free to PM you with more information, but we don't allow threads like this in the anime forums. Thread closed. -Shy -
I believe that Bandai is releasing an official soundtrack album in the US this October, but don't quote me on it. There are many different online sites where you can purchase soundtracks, so it shouldn't be too difficult to find anything. I hope this answers your question. Thread closed. -Shy

Pen and paper RPGs are games like Dungeons and Dragons, Modern d20, and Vampire the Masquerade. These involve a good amount of puzzles and combat encounters created by a specified player, usually called a "Game Master." I have played pen and paper RPGs for about six years, and they can be a lot of fun. It all just depends on who you play with, though. -Shy
Originally posted by craig8429 You should go in to detail if your trying to get people to watch it.
That is some excellent advice, craig8429. AnimeShogun888, you have created several threads in the Anime Lounge since joining the forums, and all of them are violate out forums' rules on post quality. Please try to elaborate your posts by spending more time on them and reading the rules. So yeah, I'm very sorry but I'm closing this thread in Anime Lounge due to poor post quality. This is your first warning. -Shy

I'm sorry, but we already have a large amount of Trigun threads in this forum. Please post about the series in any one of those. Topic closed. -Shy

Welcome to the boards, EdtheHackerGirl. :) We used to have a Trigun forum, but it suffered from the lack of active threads. The discussions were pretty straight froward, but after a few weeks everyone ran out of things to talk about. After that point the forum became incredibly inactive, and it was eventually discarded. Maybe someday in the distant future we'll see it return in some form or another, but there are definitely no plans to bring it back in the forseeable future. -Shy

If you read the rules you'd know that concerns such as this should be sent directly to a moderator through PM, IM or e-mail. If a thread generates a lot of posts it does not necccessarily mean it is worth having on these boards. This place has a long history of strong post quality; the moderators make every effort to hold this place up to certain standards have set for it. As such, they also have the right to close any thread, edit any post, or ban any member they want without explaining it. Of course, that was most likely not the case in the thread. We have specific rules about what types of threads are and are not allowed. Seeing as your're new here, I'm going to let this slide. You can contact me anytime if you'd like to continue this argument, but until then this topic is closed. -Shy

Anime What is your favorite Gundam character?
Shy replied to Belldandy Angel's topic in Otaku Central

Since your first post was very poor, I highly doubt that this could generate any intelligent discussion. Please read the forum's rules, and put more thought into the threads you create. This is your last warning, Zantar. Topic closed. -Shy

I want to dress up as Jack Skellington this year, since I have the perfect build for that character. If I could just find a good looking mask I'd be set. Of course, I haven't been trick-or-treating in about five years, so I don't see the point of dressing up if nobody is going to see it. Maybe Jenna and I could go trick-or-treating this year. We'll find some random neighborhood halfway between us and try to get every piece of candy that we can. -Shy
