I plan on getting a job somewhere, but I don't have any idea of where it will be. Probably just whoever will hire me, but who knows? In July I am going to Anime Expo 2003, where I will get to meet OB-ers Rick Hunter and Sephiroth in real life. That's going to be crazy, heh. Aside from those things, I'm not doing much. Maybe I will go to visit some relatives of mine in Oregon, depending on my work schedule. -Shy Edit: formatting of post.

I like the banner OD. My only complaint is the irregular shape of the thing. Non-boxes are too trendy these days, and just I tend to stick with the classics. I don't like the scan lines very much either, but the banner is still very well done. -Shy
Originally posted by Syk3 I know where to find the Love Hina season and OVA on DVD dubbed for $35. ;) Bah, I know how to find everything, don't I? As for the Kaworu avatar, all you have to do is ask. :)
You DO know everything, and it's very annoying. PM me with the name of the site, since that is an excellent deal. And I don't know if I want to force you into making me a Kaworu avatar. It isn't like I have a shortage of them *points to stack of Kaworu and/or Shinji avatars* Maybe I should move on to a new anime... nah. -Shy

It might just be the computer I'm on, but the avatar seems to be a little pixelated... Anyway, I like it. Simple avatars usually work the best, especially with animated ones. Sadly, I have never seen Love Hina even though everyone tells me how great it is. Maybe when I can find it for a little cheaper than 25.99 a DVD, ergh. You need to make me a Kaworu avatar one of these days. -Shy

I really enjoy the music of .hack//sign. Some of my friends complain that the music is too mellow compared to other series such as Evangelion or Cowboy Bebop. The music isn't really a focal point, and it just blends with the series perfectly. My friend lent me a copy of the OST, and I always listen to it while I am on the computer. -Shy

Online Character Name: Wes Character Base: Sky Runner Weapons: Crossbow Appearance: I'll post a picture of him soon. Sex: Male ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Real Character Name: Jake Thompson Age: 24 Occupation: Entertainer; mostly direct-to-video stuff and smaller, independent projects. Location: Shanghai, China Biography: Jake was born in the United States, where he lived in a small suburban city for most of his life. As he grew up he developed a love for performing and the theater, and when he turned 18 he moved to New York to become a star. Unfortunately this did not turn out very well, and within a week he was trying to earn a living by waiting tables at a small coffeee shop. Jake managed to earn small parts in theater productions, but combined with his wages as a waiter he was still not earning enough to survive in the big city. One day he saw that they were holding auditions nearby for a new television program, and he immediately rushed over to try out for every part. The producers were very happy with his performances, and offered him a job as a regular on their new series... in China. Reluctantly Jake took the job, and has had regular work as Dr. Jones on Shanghai TV's #1 Action/Drama. In addition to his day job on Shanghai TV Jake frequently appears on smaller films that are sold to English video retailers. Jake just recently joined "The World" a few months ago, and sees it as an excellent opportunity to practice his acting skills. His character "Wes," is a focused and determined warrior, nearly the exact oppsite of Jake's easygoing and friendly demeanor. Personality: Jake is a very outgoing and friendly person who is more than willing to try new things. He tends to be a little naive, which is part of the reason that he ended up in China. He does not have very many friends, but most of that is due to the huge language barrier between him and the general population of China. Most people think of him as a nice person, while others think of him as a complete weirdo. Jake is ashamed of not becoming the huge Amercan movie star that he had dreamed of, but his paychecks more than makes up for that fact. Interests: Acting, performing, conversation, dating. The attachment will be changed once I finish drawing a picture of my character.
Originally posted by Endymion I tend to thrive on the audience's lack of booing at me.
heh, genius. :D Lately I have been trying to figure out what my talents are, but everyoen is so much better at everything than I am. Oh well. I like to draw comics. My limited drawing ability is due in part to my huge obsession with animation. Knowing a lot about 1930's cartoons is a talent, right? Also I write a lot, which has developed into a talent for writing newspaper articles. I am editor-in-chief at my high school paper (something I am extremely proud of, which is why I mention it so often.) I may be good at those things, but there is always someone better. People tend to classify me as a "good writer" instead of an "excellent writer." There really isn't a single thing that I excel at, even though other people seem to be good at everything. -Shy

Okay, here is the list of people who are atending, as of April 18...

Shyguy
Watinabe
Forest_Pixie
Rick Hunter
Sephiroth
Sith_Change (Maybe)
Yoshi (Maybe)
Juuthena (maybe)
Yoshi, Sith_Change, and I all know each other in real life, so we will be going in a group for at least one of the days. Rick Hunter has promised to tag along; and the two of us will be thee all four days. If anyone else wants a group to hang out with, feel free to join us. But we'll have to set a meeting time/place once the actual date draws closer. I'm going to try and go to Disneyland for one of the days, since it is across the street from Anime Expo. But we don't have to buy those tickets early, so we can worry about that later. -Shy

I have never been in an online realtionship (unless you count my marriage to Mitch, heh) but the idea of dating someone you have never met in real life seems odd. Of course, some of my best friends are people who I have never met in real life, but the idea of trying an intimate relationship with a total stranger would seem odd. As TN said earlier, it isn't very easy for gay people to meet other gay people in real life. I have no gay friends, so it's difficult for me to find a date (not that I have started dating yet.) But it seems like a good way to meet people who live nearby, so I might pursue that sometime. But it just depends on the person and the situation I guess. -Shy

She has done Faye (Bebop), Twilight Suzuka (Outlaw Star), TK (Digimon), a huge list of others. -Shy

It seems like OB is starting to become a place where people can find close friends, and possibly even some relationships. Still, some people are completely opposed to the idea of dating someone they have neevr actually met before in real life. What are your views about using the internet as a dating tool? Also, feel free to post any experiences you might have had (you don't have to post names or anything) in the past. -Shy

I will vote for Mitch. It seems like the entries this round were not as strong as ones in previous ones, but I might be imagining things. Oh well... -Shy
Originally posted by Mnemolth Hmm...its a little big dude. At 1/4 MB, aren't you a little concerned it would annoy those on dial-ups? Its strange, I saw the same thing with Charles banner. His was actually bigger. At some messageboards its actually considered rude to use big banners (in data size) cos of the load times involved for some people. It doesn't seem to bother anyone here tho. Hmm...I wonder why. *shrugs* Just a random thought brought to you by the fruitloops king. :D
I know. I'm new to GIF making, and I got a little crazy. Heh, it is too large to go in my sig. Juu: Bosko is the original Looney Tunes' character, and he is over 70 years old. Mitch: I think that TN was talking about my club. -Shy

I am not able to watch Anime Unleashed every weeknight, but they have a fairly good selection of anime. Lain has been my favorite series to air so far, but the dub is terrible in my opinion. This is just part of my latest movement away from dubs though, so I still highly reccomend that anime fans watch this as a nice alternative to Toonami. -Shy

I am honoring the ShyGuy fan club by creating a second fan club devoted entirely to the first. Are you confused yet? So am I. But here if the official banner, starring Otaku Board's official anime mascot.. Bosko! -Shy
Originally posted by Semjaza Azazel Are you referring to the song from that really old cartoon? I think it was of the same name. Oscar Levant and Irving Caesar did that song in the 30s. I don't know if there are other versions since then, but that's the one I know.
... I'm shocked that you knew what I was talking about. Why did you know that? But yeah, it's the song from the cartoon. For some reason that song has been stuck in my head forever. -Shy
Originally posted by TheDarkOtaku Huey Lewis and the News- Power of Love Back in Time (Yes, these are from the Back to the Future Soundtrack but they're pretty good songs nonetheless considering I'm obsessed with these films recently:cross: )
I was watching something on VH1 this weekend about the 1980's, and they kept talking about Huey Lewis and the News. Back in time is probably my favorite; especially since I have been watching a lot of back to the future movies lately. Anyway, these are my favorite songs at the moment. - Blue by Joss Whedon - Hesmisphere from the RahXephon soundtrack - Any Bonds Today by Irving Berlin - Lady Play Your Mandolin (I have no idea who wrote this song.) -Shy

I have noticed that jagged edges tend to detract a lot of attention away from the image. The Azure Sky banner isn't very impressive when compared to other things I have seen in the past, but it is simple and effective. The text seems a little out of place though, changing the color would probably help (as Dark_Apocalypse pointed out.) Even though I have never seen A.I. I like your banner the most out of the three images in this thread. But maybe you could make the background black, and make the text white instead? Eh, never mind. I just like things to be monotone... Overall they are a departure from what I am used to seeing from you, but still pretty good. -Shy

My Grandfather (on my Mother's side) served in the Army during the Korean War. Growing up I thought that he had served in World War 2, but that was before I even knew that there was a Korean War. He was awarded an awful lot of medals though, including a Purple Heart. They are the only things of his that we still have in the house, since he passed away over a decade ago. Anyway, the term "hero" is extremely subjective, so we shouldn't criticize other peoples interpretations of what a hero is supposed to be. I wouldn't start yelling at the people of Iraq if they considered their fallen soldiers to be heroic. Oh well. -Shy Edit: James already used the word "subjective." Stupid Shy and his limited vocabulary!

Who was your first kiss?: Cali (girl) How old were you?: 12-13 How was it? Awkward, for obvious reasons. But it wasn't that bad. What were the circumstances? (Where, Time, etc): *looks around nervously* We were at youth group at church, and sitting the back row when she leaned over and kissed me. I was so nervous that I almost passed out, and I didn't even know how to kiss someone. She had to give me instructions ^^" We ended up making out quite a bit that night, God probably wasn't very happy. What was your best/worst kiss?: Eh, since I haven't really had a meaningful kiss yet, all of them have been basically the same. I guess I just need more experience. -Shy
