I completely agree with you Endymion. But I don't think that Spike would openly attack any of the Scoobies (except for Robin, who doesn't count as a Scooby anymore). Spike has proven time and again that he is %100 completely devoted to Buffy, and only Buffy. As long as Buffy is in charge of the SIT's, and the Scoobies then they are safe from Spike. He could care less about everyone else in the group, the only reason he has done so much good is that he wanted to make Buffy happy. If being good doesn't make Buffy happy, then Spike is going to revert to his older ways. Giles and Robin were right to try and kill Spike, but they should have asked for help. Xander and Kennedy would have been more than happy to stake him. Which BtVS character would everyone like to see die this season? -Shy

Buffy, Dawn and Joyce had reassembled downstairs in the living room. Joyce and Dawn were lying on the couch, while Buffy was on the ground. It was an eerily calm moment, the only sound that could be heard was the serene music coming from the television screen. Dawn: Why is everyone being so quiet? Joyce: I'm just trying to enjoy the movie Dawn. Your sister and I used to watch it all of the time before she was in high school. We used to spend a lot of time watching movies before your father and I divorced. Buffy: Dad used to love this one, he would always act out some of the scenes with Mom. It was nice, I miss it. (Buffy whispered) I miss a lot of things. Suddenly the room filled with darkness, nothing was visisble in the room anymore. Buffy: Huh? What was that? Joyce: It was just a power surge, I guess. Dawn: We should check the fuse box. Buffy: Do you even know what a fuse box is? Dawn: It's something I see on tv. Whenever the power goes out they check the fuse box and it starts working again. A loud scream echoed throughout the room, and a small white light suddenly appeared. A small female voice started to come out of the light. ???: Slayer... Sayer... Buffy: Yes. What is it? ???: The darkness has chosen you Slayer, and the ones around you. Times of great pain turmoil draw near. Only you can stop this. Buffy: Yes, but how? ???: The flow of blood has returned to the Hellmouth. A former ally has returned, and he will try to kill you. Beware the vampire, slayer. As quickly as the room had turned dark it reverted back to it's normal state. Joyce: Buffy, what was that? Buffy: I don't know. Dawn: Wha... huh... huh? Joyce: A former ally, and a vampire? Do you think he was talking about... Buffy: Angel. I don't know, but I need to go and find out. Buffy stood up and walked towards the door. Buffy: Do not let anyone in this house. Stay here until the sunrise, at least. I should be back before then. Joyce: Right, ok. Be careful. Buffy walked out the door, and slammed it behind her. Dawn: Slayer!?

Wow, this was a great episode. I am so glad to have the Spike/Robin conflict develop more, and there were a few good moments for the other characters as well. Dawn got hurt. Her head trauma was not a small thing to be ignored. Spike has never tried to hurt her, this was a major turning point in the Spike/Dawn relationship. Over the past two years Dawn has proven that she doesn't stand for this sort of stuff. Remember how pissed off Dawn was when Willow got her into that car accident? I expect her to be like that all over again. But Buffy was there to comfort Dawn in the past, this is different. Buffy completely ignored Dawn's head trauma and shrugged it off with a simple "She'll be fine." Later in the episode Buffy says that she would kill Dawn if it meant saving the world. this is a complete 180 from Buffy's "If Dawn dies, then the last thing she'll see is me protecting her" speech from Season 5. Even though she is an interdimensional ball of glowing green energy, Dawn is weak. She is not a potential slayer, she is not a witch, and she is not a vampire with a soul. Buffy has decided that if there is going to be a war, she would rather have Spike fighting by her side. I am so glad that Principal Wood and Giles conspired to kill Spike. I don't hate Spike or anything, but he has proven to be a liability, especially over the past year. The room full of crosses was very cool, but I have no idea why Spike would willingly go to Wood's house. William The Bloody should be a little smarter than that. But Principal Wood accidentally cured Spike, now Spike realizes that he is not responsible for what he did before he ganed his soul. If only Angel could learn this lesson... Here are some lies... - William's mother lied to him about liking his poetry. - Giles lied to Buffy in order to distract her from the Spike/Robin battle. - Buffy told Dawn that she would always protect her. - Joyce's(?) mysterious messages to Buffy and Dawn. I am beginning to think that Joyce's messages to Dawn might be the real thing from the Powers That Be. Buffy has just left Giles, her Watcher/Father Figure. She feels betrayed, probably more than she did when Giles drugged her on her 18th birthday. I don't think that there is time to reunite the two of them before the final battle begins, they may end up being in seperate sides. This may be more than Good vs. Evil. It could end up as Good vs. Misguided Good vs. Evil... and that really hurts the group. Seperated Scoobies are completeely useless, and now Willow is out of town. Did it bother anyone else that 'Buffy' seems to be a week behind 'Angel'? I do not know about Joyce's messages to Buffy though, it seems like Joyce is pushing Buffy to see the evil within everyone. Buffy can't fight the First Evil if it resides within everyone, so maybe the FE is using Joyce to hurt Buffy's morale. Giles and Joyce seem to be preaching the same message, does that mean the two are connected. I still don't trust Giles, his excuse on how he dodged the axe was completely lame. -Shy

The only problem I have with nudity in anime is when I'm watching it and someone who knows nothing about anime walks in. They see it and ask "Why isn't that girl wearing a shirt?" It gets very difficult to explain the artistic merit of a series when the DVD cover shows a naked woman. Most people think that anime is kid's stuff, or soft-core pornography. Ergh. But for the most part nudity in anime is done tastefully. Sometimes even I have to ask "Why isn't that girl wearing a shirt?" People can be so perverted sometimes. -Shy

Buffy rushed into Dawn's room. Buffy: Dawn? Where are you? The screaming continued, and buffy realized that Dawn was in the bathroom. Buffy burst into the bathroom to find Dawn looking into a mirror and holding a curling iron. Dawn: I burnt myself again, ouch. Buffy: Dawn. Mom told you not to use the curling iron by yourself. Dawn: It's a girls night. I'm a girl, this is the sort of thing I am supposed to do. Buffy: Not by yourself. Dawn; Well, you and Mom were talking to your friends. You are always talking to your friends; like when you sneak out late at night to hang out with them. Joyce: She does? Buffy turned around to find her mother standing in the doorway with her arms folded. Buffy: It isn't like that. Yes, I go out late at night.. but I do it to... Dawn looked at buffy eagerly. Buffy confessed her secret life as a Slayer to her Mom last year, but Dawn was still clueless. Buffy: ...to go to the local ice cream parlor and give into my temptation to Rocky Road. Joyce: You mean the S-L-A-Y-I-N-G? Buffy: Mom, she's--! Dawn: I'm 11 years old. I know how to spell. Joyce: Hm, oops. Dawn: And you spelled it wrong. The correst spelling is S-L-E-I-G-H-I-N-G, not S-L-A-Y-I-N-G. Where did you get a sleigh? Buffy: Eh, it's umm.. magic. Joyce: From Santa Claus. Buffy: Yeah, me and Willow love to go dashing through the snow late at night. It gives us a rush. The hardest part is trying to find the now. Dawn: Are you serious? Or this some sort of joke?

OOC: Since this is being written in a past-tense, I consider this to be a very long flashback. Thus, Dawn would be there. Joyce, wearing a robe and slippers, opened the door. Xander: Oh god, she's doing him again. Joyce: What? Xander: Er. I mean it. Oh god she is doing it again. It being the wearing of the slippers, and not an English... Willow: Xander has something against slippers! He's weird like that. Just the other day I said to him "Alexander Harris, I like wearing slippers. You need to get over whatever issues you have against them because slippers are a very important part of--" Joyce: Did you two want to speak with Buffy? Xander: Yes, please. Buffy walked downstairs, also wearing a robe and slippers. The expression on Willow's and Xander's faces said everything. Willow: It's Buffy, who is also wearing a robe. Xander: I thought we were going to Bronze Buffy. Joyce: The Bronze? Buffy, you said that you were going to stay here tonight and watch videos with us tonight. Willow: "Us?!" So it's true, I had no idea that the three of you were into that sort of thing. Xander: Disgusting. Buffy: Um, did I miss something? Joyce: Buffy promised to stay home and watch videos with me and her sister.. Dawn. Xander: Oh, Dawn. How could we forget about Dawn? Willow: Yeah, sometimes it's like she isn't even there. Xander: We thought that you were talking about someone else... with glasses and a fondness for books. Joyce: You mean Mr. Giles? Buffy: Why would he be here? Willow: Well... you see... umm.. Buffy: Forget it. I'm sorry, this family thing came up at the last minute Will. Maybe we could reschedule it for a later date? Willow: But what about Angel? Buffy: Oh, hm. Tell him I'm busy. Xander: Yes ma'am. Buffy: I'll just see you guys at school tomorrow then. Willow: Ok, bye. Willow and Xander walked away and Joyce closed the door. Buffy: What was with those two? Joyce: I have no idea. But I think it had something to do with our robes. Buffy: Well, it doesn't matter. This is our night together. Come hellmouth or high water, I'm going to spend the night here and watch movies with my Mom and my slightly forgettable sister. Suddenly a loud scream is heard coming form upstairs. Buffy: Or maybe it's everyone just trying to forget her. Buffy walked upstairs, hurrying to see what was going on.

Since I am the one who is Buffy, I would like to have some say in the matter of whether or not she has a watcher. I think that Giles should be in this rpg, even if that means I have to play as him. Buffy would be a completely different character without Giles, and I have no interest in writing about Buffy from "The Wish". lease reconsider removing Giles from play. Also, I would like to seperate Buffyf rom the group for a while, so please stop sending her to the Bronze to see Angel. -Shy

Buffy sat at the table, resting her head on her arm as everyone else at the table continued to talk. She was thinking about the past few months, everything was happening so fast. Angel returning from Hell, the arrival of Faith, Willow taking up witchcraft, and more importantly, graduation. This was her last year of high school, and she wanted to make it count. Willow reached into her backpack and pulled out an ancient book, bound in leather. Amy: Is that what I think it is? Xander: Old, leathery, and creepy. Either it's one of Cordelia's friends from the tanning salon, or there's magicks afoot. Willow: Oh, don't worry guys. This isn't anything big. I found it in the cave after we defeated the Kungai demon. Buffy: How could I forget... Buffy took a drink of her soda ...which one was that, exactly? Willow: Oh, you know. The one with the big horn on his head. Drains the life of whoever it touches, not big on the hygiene.. Amy: I have read about those in my summoning texts. Willow and Buffy shared a glance. Xander continued eating, stealing Buffy's muffin. Amy: ...not that I would ever summon anything like that, but it helps to know what my options are. Xander: We don't have to worry about you getting all dark-eyed and veiny like your mother, do we Amy? Amy: No, of course not. It is entirely possible to delve into the dark arts without ending up so dark. Besides, witchcraft is part of my heritage. Buffy: Like hexing cheerleaders? With a hurt look in her eye Amy took a few steps back, and walked away. Willow turned to Buffy. Willow: Buffy! How could you be like that to Amy? You know she is still sensitive about what her mother did. Xander: Yeah, we don't bring up all of the wild things your mother did. Buffy hid her face in embarassment. Buffy: Er, what are you talking about? Xander: Like that time her wall decoration started to raise the dead. Geesh, you people don't remember anything around here. Buffy stood up and put her backpack over her shoulder. Buffy: Oh, heh.. umm... She quickly darted out of the room, leaving Xander and Willow behind. Xander: Hm. It seems like I struck a nerve. You don't think something happened with Joyce that she isn't telling us about? Willow: What? You think Buffy would hide something from us? She.. she.. would never even dream of -- Xander: Telling us what really happened? Willow: Yes. Xander: Well, I dount it is anything big. The last time Ms. Summers went wild was when she was OD-ing on the band candy. And she wasn't very wild then, all she did was follow Giles around like she was his groupie? Willow: You don't think that Joyce and Giles actually..? Xander: No, and let us never speak of this again. There was an awkward pause. Xander: Why can't everyone just have normal alcoholic parents like me? This is just disgusting.

As a DnD player (and not neccessarily a Christian) my opinion might also be a bit biased, but growing up I was not allowed to play the game because my parents thought that it was evil. When I actually came across the games a few years ago I realized that there was not anything evil about them. Yes, the game has it's own set of gods for the characters to worship. Yes, there is witchcraft and other things relating to the dark arts. Yes, a few of the creatures in the games are based on aspects of the bible and other religious texts. This is only a game. There are countless books, tv series, and video games that depict worlds without the Christian God. Are all of them evil? Assuming that you don't start worshipping your +4 Longsword in real life, there shouldn't be a problem with it. But I have seen people use this game as a means to live out whatever sick and twisted fantasies they have in their heads. There will always be people who take works of fantasy too seriously, just look at all of the people who dress up in cosplay. From my personal experience, DnD is not an evil game. -Shy

And now: Cordelia. Or, more to the point, Spordelia. I warn you now, this is going to be spoiled. Read if you want, and if you don't, well, STOP READING!! Yes folks, the Cordy really isn't Cordy at all. She's some evil little hellspawn. Remember when Willow brought Buffy back from the dead, but Spike could hurt her because his chip didn't see her as human? Well, due to the happy little intervention that Cordy pulled in the casino episode, Cordy returned a little . . . well, screwy. Hello, evil Cordy. She's been in conjuction with the Beast ever since she came back, and while everyone has thought that Cordy just turned evil, nope, she's been evil the whole time. The actual Cordy is in a coma somewhere, but we'll find that out later. Shhhhh! ^_~

*points above* That is a spoiler.
Yes, she is obviously evil. But I did not know how long she has been evil, or that she was always in conjuction with the Beast... or that the real Cordy is in a coma.
Unless there is a three week time differnece between where we live, that sort of information should be in spoiler tags. Can we talk about 'Angel' and 'Buffy' though, please? Last night's episode "Orpheus" was excellent, it is one of (if not my) favorite episode of 'Angel'. I have not seen Willow use that much of her power since she turned all black and veiny last season on 'Buffy'. In one episode Willow manages to solve most of the problems that have been effecting LA for the past few months, it makes me wonder why they haven't tried calling her sooner. Fred seemed really interested in Willow, but not in a sexual way like Willow was hinting at. It seems like they would be really good friends, I wonder if Willow told Buffy about Angelus before she went to LA. Both of them are really similar, if Willow had never taken up magic she would probably be a lot like Fred is now. Even though Willow is not a very confident person, she really shined when she was put into the group. Everyone in LA has been getting beaten up and tortured for a very long time, I do not think that any of them have confidence in themselves anymore. Evil Cordy does not seem like much of an actual threat, but she is more powerful when she is fighting a divided group. This is turning into "The Yoko Factor" all over again. The Faith/Angelus scenes were pretty dull. But by the end I realized that the flashbacks were for Faith, and not for Angelus. Faith can't die yet, she still has a long way to go before she can redeem herself. Hopefully her character can come full-circle before the end of 'Buffy'. Lorne got to do something! Ok. It was not very much, but his knowledge of Orpheus was helpful. His song to Faith was nice, it shows how much of a caring [strike]person[/strike] demon Lorne is. He was the one who watched Conner last year, and this year he is taking care of the injured. It mnight be the safest place to be, especially since his swordsmanship is pretty weak. Evil Cordy was hillarious. How Willow kept ignoring her was good too, but if Cordy could throw the knife like that she shouldn't have had much of a problem taking out Willow. I love how Connor keeps interrupting her attempts to cast powerful spells. Connor's loyalty to Evil Cordy is interesting as wel. All of the "we are different" lines from Evil Cordy were very effective. They just fed into how racial (demon, vampire, human) Connor is. Angel might have figured out that Evil Cordy is pulling the strings, but we'll see what happens. Angel and Mandy, hehe. I remember when he sang that at Lorne's demon bar. ^_^ -Shy

Hello everyone. I was just wondering if anyone else was planning on attending this year's Anime Expo, which is taking place July 3-6th in Anaheim, California. Last year's event took place at the Long Beach Convention Center, but this year they are going to the slightly smaller Anaheim Convention Center (Right next to Disneyland!) Since the Anaheim convention is smaller than Long Beach's, it would be best to get your tickets early:

A four-day pass for the entire event costs $50.
A two-day pass for an adult costs $40.
A one-day pass for an adult costs $20.
The best thing to do would be to get your tickets early, because certain days tend to be more active than others. Pre-registration is only available until May 15th, after that you will have to buy your tickets at the door. Since I live in the general area, I will probably go to all four days. If you plan on going, post what dates you can attend, so maybe we could organize a group of OB-ers. Also, the hotels in the area acan only hold so many people. So if you plan on going and don't have somewhere to stay, make reservations ASAP. The actual convention isn't for a while, so an official list of activities has not been announced. But in past years they have had live panel discussions, anime film premieres, anime music video contests, karaoke contests, art shows, cosplay competitions and dance parties. Ok, the dance parties sound frightening, but the rest of the event sounds like a lot of fun. Note: This sounds an awful lot like an advertisement, but it isn't. I'm just trying to make the information available to my fellow Otakus. www.animeexpo.org -Shy
