Very good work Mitch, you constantly impress me with your talent at poetry. Is there any way that you could make a poem about me? "Good-bye Shy" maybe..? -Shy :whoops:

Regular exercise can keep someone looking young for decades, so it isn't much of a surprise that Yamcha hardly seems to age during the course of the series. As for Goku and Vegeta, I'm not an expert on Saiya-jin genetics, but it does seem like Vegeta is older. That is probably due to the fact that he is always pissed off though, and he has a much older voice in the English dub. -Shy

Well, I doubt that Toriyama will ever be able to come up with something that could match Dragonball Z's popularity. But that is kind of obvious, I mean, the show is one of (if not) the most popular anime series of all time. This is similar to what Matt Groening is experiencing with the Simpsons. He could never repeat that. Futurama and Life in Hell are really obscure compared to the Simpsons. But the truth is that Mr. Toriyama is very lucky to have made something so popular. And the more knowledgable anime fans will remember him for some of his other creations, rather than just King Kai and Vegeta. -Shy

I really like your pics, "Tree through foggy window" is my favorite. Since I don't know mucb about photography I am unable to critique you, but these seem like a good way to start a hobby in photography. -Shy
Originally posted by Crazy White Boy When I want the latest and greatest in gaming information, I visit Otakuboards! Yes, that's right, Otakuboards.com!
I know you are joking, but I do visit OB's gaming forums to keep up with the latest news. Between Semjaza Azazel and James' topics I am able to understand a lot without reading too much. IGN loads too slowly on my computer anyway. And if all else fails, I still have that subscription to EGM. -Shy

Is there any way you could make it a bright box if there are new posts, instead of the same dark one? Other than that it is very good, the look fits perfectly with the new banner (good work James and SKY). Edit: Oh, you did fix it. Never mind. -Shy ;)

Welcome to the second annual Official Otaku Awards! The forums have undergone significant changes over the past year. Last January, version 4.0 was on the horizon. Over the span of one year Otakuboards has grown in numerous ways. Thanks to the members and their continued devotion, we were able to break the "Most Users Online" record and survive approximately one month of down time. Now, we're on the eve of version 7.0! With that knowledge in mind, it's time to kick off the New Year in a big way. It's your chance to appreciate everyone who makes the community what it is today. Newly added to this year's edition of the awards, is the "honorable mention" categories. Honorable mentions will recieve one half point, whereas the primary vote will be worth a full point. Remember, an honorable mention selection is not mandatory. Furthermore, you don't have to vote for every category, because we understand that members have different interests and don't frequent every forum. Oh, and you may only vote for one individual in each category. So, choose wisely. ~_^ Now, let the awards begin! General Awards Overall Member of the Year: Honorable Mention: Male Otaku of the Year: Honorable Mention: Female Otaku of the Year: Honorable Mention: Most improved Member of the Year: Honorable Mention: Thread of the Year: Honorable Mention: Silliest Thread of the Year: Honorable Mention: Funniest Member: Honorable Mention: Silliest Username: Honorable Mention: Member most likely to be here in two years: Honorable Mention Avatar of the Year: Honorable Mention: Signature of the Year: Honorable Mention: Best Otaku Couple: Honorable Mention: Best looking Otaku: Honorable Mention: Otaku clique of the Year: Honorable Mention: Best Newbie: Honorable Mention: Best Oldie: Honorable Mention: Best Otaku-Related site: Honorable Mention: Most likely to become a Staff Member: Honorable Mention: Otaku Writers Poet Laureate: Honorable Mention: Writer of the Year: Honorable Mention: Role-Player of the Year: Honorable Mention: Brawler of the Year (sparring): Honorable Mention: Role-Playing Game of the Year Honorable Mention: Social Otakus Otaku Social member of the year: Honorable Mention: Entertainment Otaku of the Year: Honorable Mention: Anime Otakus Otaku of the Year: (Best Anime member overall) Honorable Mention: DragonBall Guru: Honorable Mention: Digipeep of the Year: Honorable Mention: Gundam Member of the Year: Honorable Mention: Yu-Gi-Oh Member of the Year: Honorable Mention: Otaku Gamers Gamer of the Year: Honorable Mention: Nintendo "Mario" Award: Honorable Mention: The Sony Award: Honorable Mention: Xbox Gamer of the Year: Honorable Mention: PC Gamer of the Year: Honorable Mention: Otaku Artists Best Graphic Designer (Banners, wallpapers, etc.): Honorable Mention: Best "Traditional" Artist (Drawings, paintings, etc.): Honorable Mention: Best Spriter: Honorable Mention: Series Otaku Series Otaku Member of the Year: Honorable Mention: The Chocobo Award (Final Fantasy): Honorable Mention: Liberty City Award (Grand Theft Auto): Honorable Mention: Mushroom Kingdom Honors (Mario): Honorable Mention: PokéPlaque (Pokemon): Honorable Mention: The Triforce Award (Zelda): Honorable Mention: These awards were made possible thanks to Crazy White Boy and James. Yes, there are people in these mesage boards who like Cowboy Bebop, that is why we have a Cowboy Bebop sub-forum in Anime Lounge. Please keep your posts about Cowboy Bebop in there. And since this topic has no real purpose, I am going ot close it now. -Shy

Anime Nothing but wierd and/or funny Yu-Gi-Oh thoughts

I'm going to close this topic, since there is no way that it lead to any sort of intelligent discussion. -Shy -

I read this when you gave me the link to that "BMX XXX" article at the end of October. N-Sider always has wonderful articles to read, heh *insert more shameless compliments here*. It is really interesting to see how knowledgable some voice actors are on the material they work with. Charles Martinet seems to be a very cool person, and he knows an awful lot about the industry. This is a lot better than many animation voice actors who do not know to respond to a certain fan's questions. While I have some complaints about the voices of the Mario characters, I admit that this is a very good interview, James. -Shy BTW: I got an "A" on my research paper, thanks for your help. ;)

Some other forums actually organize special meetings like these, but seeing as how young the average member is it might be a bad idea. I'm happy that the two of you got to meet, this isn't the first OB reunion is it? -Shy
Originally posted by BabyGirl I haven't lived in California long enough to know much about their weather patters. However, I've noticed that the coast gets lots and lots of fog and it's usually colder and foggier down by the beach. I remember visiting Santa Barbara in April to find cold, cloudy weather. It wasn't until my dad and I drove up into the mountains that we discovered the "cloudiness" was really coastal fog cover blocking out the sun, and the cool temperature was a direct result of that. Silly Pacific Ocean :p
Well, the current problem we have where I live is the winds. If you have been watching the new lately in Cali you know that the "Santa Ana" winds (Why they call them "Santa Ana" winds, I have no idea) have been destroying everything in sight. Our power went out on Sunday night because a line was knocked over, a few people I know did not get their electricity back until today! -Shy

Aw, poor Wehboo *hugs Wehboo* Stress is awful, especially during the beginning of high school. Personally 11th grade was the hardest for me, I almost had a nervous breakdown during the spring.. in addition to that ulcer, bleh. I suggest doing things to clear your mind a bit, like reading a good book or listening to some relaxing music. Or just tell everyone about how you feel, sometimes admitting your problems is the best way to be relieved of stress. Your friends (IRL and online) are always willing to listen and help you out, so it is a good idea to look to them for support. -Shy

ok, I'm going to try this again.
Originally posted by Defcon5, headache And the reason for them having sex is to concieve a child. Other wise they are not supposed to have sex. Since homosexual acts could never create a child they are considered a sin.
I know what you are trying to say; but I doubt that more than a fraction of the general population [istraight or gay, or whatnot) has sex only in order to have children. That is why forms of birth control exist, that is why there are abortions.
It's not a sin to be gay. And you don't choose, your born that way, and if you happen to be homosexual then I believe that God has a special plan for you....
Ok, so I'm going to use your logic to question the existance of God. God made everything, so why would create homosexuals; which are supposed to be "sinners" in his view? ...and what kind of "plan" does god have for his "sinners"? On a side note: There was an article in Time magazine about gay priests a few months ago. There are quite a few of them, according to the statistics. -Shy

That makes perfect sense actually, thanks. -Shy :whoops:

Well, I think it speaks tons for your character being able to tell everyone this in such an open and direct matter. I'm sure that everyone thinks of you in the same way, and if they don't, that means they weren't knowing in the first place. It is nice to know that I helped you in whatever way that I could, and if you ever want, feel free to talk to me on AIM. So yeah, you'll always be [strike]DuoGod of Death[/strike] Lalaith Ril to me. -Shy :whoops:

I see how having our characters meet in the first post would be helpful, but I think it might detract from the overall continuity and quality. The way I want to meet (example) CWB may be different than the way CWB wants to meet me, and we both might end up posting our introductions without knowledge of the others, or whatever. See what point I am trying to make here? -Shy
