When is it okay to lie to someone? What if you are doing it to protect someone, what if you are doing it to protect yourself? I'm gay. I have not "come out" yet to my family, or even to my closest friends... except for one. He is/was my best friend, and things have been different between us ever since I told him. I thought that I could trust him, I thought that telling the truth to someone would make my life easier. Today he told me that he could not,"lie to everyone" anymore, and that if someone asks him about me, he will tell them the truth. That could be today, or he might never tell anyone. Now I think that it would have been better just to lie to everyone than to let one person know.. How important is the truth to you? Have you ever tried to keep something from the people you care about? Try to keep on topic, please... -Shy

Anime Cartoon Network Line-Ups...and anime on television announcements
Originally posted by gokents What happend to outlaw star?
It isn't on anymore.
When or will they bring back the tenchi stuff and the gundam wing stuff?
Not now, maybe during the spring or summer. But why would you want to see Tenchi reruns again? It aired four consecutive times during Toonami, isn't that enough?
Centralizing all the cn discussion. good call. credit when credit is due right? well then... uh yea, you get it...
Yeah, Syk3 does deserve some credit. *awards him 100 EXP*
do you think we could delete some of the other threads on this subject to "de-clutter" the boards?
No, they can just be closed. Closed topics don't hurt anyone, I'm sure you that you are able to navigate this forum without having the mods delete every thread about Cartoon Network.
And could we get some discussion of the new stuff to come going? specifically the reign series, its the only one Im not really farmiliar with.
That's a great idea, you should start a topic about it. Mods are supposed to moderate, do you expect them to make all of the threads too? Check on a search engine for more information about Reign, there are plenty of great anime sites out there. -Shy :whoops: -
I think that originally Suzuka was following Gene around so that she could get closer to the Kai pirates. It makes sense, considering that Gene and the Outlaw Star run into them so often; Suzuka saw Gene as an opportunity to accomplish her goals. But yes, Suzuka did have romantic feelings for Gene by the end of the series. The pirates are what led her to the Outlaw Star, but Gene is what kept her there. -Shy

I could have sworn that we had a topic about this not too long ago, oh well. (BTW: I added the spoiler warning to this topic's title) A lot of people always talk about how great this episode is, but I really do not understand why people enjoy it so much. There is one thing that every great series finale needs, and that thing is closure. Regardless of what others think, no character (other than possibly Faye) went through any sort of character development during the series. Everyone remained exactly the same, and most of the storylines surrounding the characters went unresolved. Faye knows who she is.. then what happens!?
Jett realizes that his wife left him, and his partner shot him because he refused to loosen up... but he doesn't do anything about it! Ed is Ed, so I guess she never had much of a storyline in the first place (I am sure that Ed and Ein were hit by a falling meteor shortly after leaving the Bebop). I can understand that killing Vicous is the only thing that Spike had left to resolve, but it seems like the supporting cast was left in the dust.
-Shy
From theOtaku.com's Yu-Gi-Oh section Yu-Gi-Oh! is basically a variety of many things. The world of Yu-Gi-Oh! contains a hit anime series that has a good storyline, a growing Collectible Card Game (CCG for short), and over seven installments of video games selling worldwide. Yu-Gi-Oh! was created by Kazuki Takahashi in Japan, and it made it's first appearance around 1996. Yu-Gi-Oh! didn't hit the mainstream until 1999 or so. The anime series is based around a young boy named Yugi and a gift that his grandfather, Sugoroku, gave him called the Millenium Puzzle. As the story starts to unfold, the origin of the Millenium Puzzle is revealed, as well as the existence of the six other Millenium items. During this time, a new card game is starting to go big. This is the Duel Monsters card game created by Pegasus J. Crawford (English name: Maximillion Pegasus). After being lured into the tournament by Pegasus, Yugi goes through major obstacles, dueling through the tournament and eventually winning. Yu-Gi-Oh! also details around Yugi's main rival, the Duel Monsters world champion, Seto Kaiba. In the very first episode, Kaiba challenges and defeats Yugi's grandfather in a duel where each of their rarest cards were on the line. The virtual reality dueling system takes Sugoroku by surprise, and he loses. When Yugi shows up, Yami Yugi (English name: Dark Yugi) makes his first appearance and defeats Kaiba starting the whole chain of events that would lead to Pegasus' and Yugi's final confrontation at the end of the Duelist Kingdom story arc. The anime is currently still showing in Japan and has reached around the 120th episode. Yu-Gi-Oh! is divided into two main story arcs with some side stories in between. The first is the Duelist Kingdom Story Arc with Pegasus starting up the Duelist Kingdom tournament. The second is the Battle City Story Arc in which Kaiba receives one of the three god cards and starts his own tournament called Battle City. Instead of Pegasus as the villain, Malik shows up and steps in that part of the story. Battle City is divided into three main parts, the Battle City, Battle Ship, and then Duel Tower (finals). The card game pretty much mirrors the anime except for some of the effects for monsters and magic. The CCG has taken off in Japan with several new installments of the card game series. The expansion sets really help players expand their decks to new levels. An example of this would be the New Ruler, and the Pharonic Guardian sets that came out in Japan. The Japanese version of the CCG is very impressive with a wide database of cards and nearly unlimited possibilities for deck themes. For the American CCG, although in its infant stages with only two sets, has taken off very well due to the anime series coming out before the CCG. The Legend of Blue Eyes White Dragon set contained the Japanese Duel Monster EX, Legend of BEWD, and Phantom god sets. Although deck possibilities are very limited, American players have learned to improvise and are getting the basics of the game. For example, essential cards for an American deck right now would be, Pot of Greed, Raigeki, Dark Hole, and Waboku. With Yu-Gi-Oh! taking off in Japan, it quickly headed to the United States, and as it gets more mainstream, I'm sure it will have a lot of success. The CCG has much better quality than the Pokemon CCG, and its rules easy to understand. With Konami creating the Japanese version, and Upper Deck creating the CCG here in the United States, it should be easy to get a hold of some Yu-Gi-Oh! cards. As for the anime series, it continues to be a hit in Japan as the Battle City Story Arc continues, and here in the United States, it should have some success next season with Kids WB releasing the end of Duelist Kingdom, and then going to the side story arcs.
That is what Yu-Gi-Oh is about. I hoped that helped you a bit. Welcome to the boards, have fun. -Shy :)
Originally posted by Kaiba's Angel Anything is possible in an anime, too. Just watch Excel Saga. There's this Martian princess who has tuberculosis and dies every 5 minutes. Once it took 3 hours for her to come alive again. There was an episode called "Menchi's Great Adventure- Part 2" and there was no Part 1. It's all about an evil organization with pure ideals that wants to conquer the city, but they can't even do that much. There are only 3 members of the organization ACROSS, and that doesn't help things much.
That post has no relevance to the topic at hand, please don't do this sort of this in the future. I got a copy of the Shonen Jump free preview, but I haven't subscribed to it yet (although I want to). It is interesting that Joey and Tristan were once bullies who picked on Yugi, it doesn't surprise me though. A kid like Yugi is just begging to get knocked around a bit. -Shy ;)

It seems that even a series with 26 episodes can have a lot of "filler". It seems that some episodes are put in a series just to take up space, which is probably why my favorite anime series are so short (less filler). Sailor Moon is 200 episodes long, and 150 episodes of the show are crap. -Shy

First you need to host the banner image somewhere else, and make sure that the banner follows all of our rules. Second, you need to go to your profile, and click on the "edit profile" tab. There should be something called "signature" and a little box for you to input text and whatnot. Type in the URL to your banner in that field, but type it between these code things [IMG] tabs. Now you have a banner :) But beware, some sites (like Angelfire) won't allow you to host banners. -Shy

I think restricting the housemates to certain forums was a bad idea, it ended up givging them cabin fever.. ergh. I voted for Lady Katana, okay, not really. But the number of votes she has say a lot about how well-liked she is. -Shy

Thanks for posting this the Yu-Gi-Oh section, but we already have a topic about Dungeon Dice Monsters... which you can reach by clicking here. Thread closed. -Shy
Originally posted by James Also, just out of interest...would anyone here like to see an EVA section on theOtaku.com?
Ooh! Ooh! I would! Yeah, Evangelion is my favorite anime series of all time. Everything just seemed to mesh together perfectly, and the show itself is on a completely different level, in terms of quality and entertainment value, than probably anything else out there. What was everyome's thoughts on Episodes 25 and 26 of the series? Did they prefer the movie's ending more? Let's have a discussion for once. -Shy
