I really enjoyed the first 5 or 6 episodes of the series, it had a few interesting plot twists that made it very fun to watch. But once it transformed into a standard action anime, I got bored. -Shy

Rick stared blankly at Megaman and Chris. "Who are these two?" "Two? Yo', what about us?" Rick slowly turned around and noticed both Toejam and Earl glaring at him. "...what are you two guys? Worms or something?" "We are Toejam and.." Earl elbowed Toejam on the stomach "We are Earl and Toejam, the funkiest heroes in this world." After an awkward pause Dot rushed towards me and gave me a huge hug, and a kiss on the cheek. Due to the enormous size of her mouth, lipstick now covered my face. "Oh Pac, I am so happy to see you again. You have no idea how worried I was." "Aw, that's sweet Dot." "Ooh, Pac-Man's got a girlfriend." "No, I have a wife." "She is your wife?" "No, I'm not his wife." "Hmm, I see. It looks like Pac-Man is cheating on Mrs. Pac-Man." "No, you don't understand. She hired me." "You run an escort service?" "Go Pac! You da' man!" "Oh, never mind. Let's just try to organize a strategy against the monsters." "And could we find a cure for my zombie bite? I really don't want the T virus to set it." The seven of us continued arguing. With a group this large, how could we organize anything?
Originally posted by ShadowDragon Well, I am trying to get a hold of Shyguy so we can figure out when the first chat is going to be. But he hasn't been on aim yet today. :p I am pretty sure the first topic will be something like, why you like Outlaw Star and your favorite stuff, not to mention getting to know everyone who has joined! So sit tight, and hopefully someone else will join aswell. ::Cries::
Sorry SD, I've been busy all week with school and newspaper (I am editor-in-chief), but hopefully we can arrange the first chat to sometime this weekend. Oz thought that he found a cure to his lycanthropy, but the truth is that it is too powerful for someone to overcome. He will always be a werewolf, no amount of magic or meditation can change that. There was also a big contract issue with Seth Green, but let's not get into that right now... Season 7 is turning into something big. They are already talking about the apocalypse, and they haven't done that sort of thing since Season 1. I can't wait to find out who the new "big bad" will be, I think that Dawn's school principal has something to do with it. Also, I would prefer it if you could keep these boards spoiler free. That is exactly the reason why I don't post at any Buffy boards, too many spoilers! -Shy

If the main character died at the end of every anime series, it become too cliched. I am glad that at least one show had a happy ending. -Shy

You see, Cartoon Network has to pay extra to show the uncensored versions of shows. It makes more sense to just buy the "clean" version, that way they can show it on both Toonami and Adult Swim. -Shy

The expression on her face is great. I wish I could draw facial expressions like that. Overall I think that it is a really good drawing. -Shy

I have to write a review of this movie for my high school newspaper, here is my rough draft of it... With a two million dollar tuxedo and a sexy partner, Jackie Chan proves once again that he can not only save the world time and time again, but he can also save terrible concept and make it fun to watch. That does not mean that this movie is perfect though. There are a lot of problems with everything from the story, to the action scenes that make this a lot less entertaining than other movies like ?Rush Hour? or ?Rumble in the Bronx?. This is ?Inspector Gadget?, only with Jackie Chan as the main character. That is not a bad thing though, but the movie doe not take full advantage of Jackie Chan?s abilities. It relies too heavily on special effects and stunt doubles, things that people are not used to watching in a Jackie Chan movie. The action scenes are really short, and do not even capture the same kind of excitement that you could find in an episode of ?Mighty Morphin? Power Rangers?. People expect to see characters falling off of buildings and risking their lives for our entertainment, but that is not the case here. The amazing powers that the tuxedo gives the wearer the ability to do nearly everything, how can people worry about a character who is has no weaknesses? Correction, the Tuxedo does not have the power to get rid of Jackie Chan?s confusing use of the English language. I keep referring to Jackie Chan by his real name rather than the name of the character he plays in the movie (Jimmy Tong), but does it really matter? He plays the same type of character in every movie anyway... But there are other people in the movie besides him, the other lead character is Jennifer Love Hewitt, who plays the brilliant, beautiful and boring Del Blaine. Her character?s job in the film is to question everything that Jackie Chan is doing, and to say ?Good Job? when he finally saves the day (oops, I just spoiled the movie for you). She isn?t funny, and it is even worse when the movie tries to make us believe that Jennifer Love Hewitt was trained in the martial arts. Chan does not have the same chemistry with Hewitt as he does with say, a rock. The villain in this movie isn?t very memorable, so much so, in fact that I can?t even remember his name right now. He plots to take over the world by selling bottled water (don?t ask) and it is up to Chan and Hewitt to stop him. There are still some redeeming qualities of this film, and I especially liked the scene where Chan performs at a nightclub after he knocks singer James Brown unconscious. The plot doesn?t make a lot of sense, but in this type of movie it doesn?t have to. The final act is what saves this from being a bad movie, and because of it I can look past all of the shortcomings. It needed more ?real? action, and less special effects. Jackie Chan doesn?t need a tuxedo to become a superhero, he already is one. -Shy

The spider creature made a charge at me, and within the blink of an eye I was pinned on the floor against its strengh. Chris, afraid of hitting me with a stray bullet, pulled a knife form his belt and stabbed the monster in the back. That wasn't enough to destroy it, and it immediately dived onto Chris and bit his shoulder. "Argh, damn!" "...steady...steady...steady..." I turned my body and noticed that Megaman was holding his hand straight up against the back of the creature. It was glowing brightly, and suddenly the room was filled with a brief flash of light. Once I was able to see agian I saw the spider-monster lying on the ground, decapitated. "Wow. How'd you do that Megaman?" "It is all very technical. You wouldn't understand." "Grr..." "Ow.. my shoulder." Chris stood up, and put his hand over the huge gash in his shoulder. Fortunately Megaman knew how to seal the wound using Chris's medical kit, those robots are quite useful. It had been a few hours, and I still haven't found Rick. Maybe my new friends could help me out....
Originally posted by MechaOutlaw A few months back I was looking for an Outlaw Star site, and I found a great one. After seeing Shyguy's work on the V.2 OLS section, it inspired me to join....somehow.
Wow, I feel so honored. I can't believe that I inspired someone to do something. This is quite possibly the highlight of my internet life. Oddly enough, that is exactly how I joined the boards as well. I was looking for some quality Digimon pictures, and for some reason I ended up at the otaku (the digi section was a mess before Ginny started running it). Soon after that I joined the boards, and over a year later I am still here. -Shy -
She doesn't have a nose, how can she smell without a nose!!! It is a neat take on Asuka, she doesn't wear "contemporary" clothing on the show but she looks great in that outfit. The bg is a little too bright and sunny as well, but overall it is very nice. -Shy

It really depends on what you are looking for. My favorite anime movie is probably "Kiki's Delivery Service". It was an incredible film, every small detail about it seemed to fit perfectly. "X" is another good film, even though the storyline can be a bit confusing at times (not to mention some questionable content). So, if you want a film that is fun for the whole family watch: Kiki's Delivery Service, My Friend Totoro or Spirited Away (which is supposed to be excellent). But if you want a more adult anime movie watch: X, Vampire Hunter D, or Ghost in the Shell. Everyone loves Akira except for me... oh well... -Shy

There are one or two kids at my high school who have Spider-Man shirts, but I don't think that it is a big deal. -Shy

I continued walking towards the shadowy figures, but before I could see figure out who they were, they left into the darkness. That wasn't enough to stop Pac-Man though, I rushed through the city until I found my target. After a few minutes I found the two figures standing in front of the Raccoon City police department. They had spotted me, and both of them walked slowly towards me with their weapons drawn. One of them was a tall sack of meat holding one of those "guns" in his hand, and the other looked like a tin can. "Who are you?" "I'm... Pac-Man, don't you recognize me?" "Pac-Man!? I thought you were only a video-game character." "Many people make that mistake" I polished my forehead lightly "The video game is based off of my real-life adventures." "......" "What are you staring at? It isn't a big deal. I'm just a blue-collared assortment of polygons like everyone else." "Well, I'm Megaman. You may have heard of me too..." "Nope, never heard of you before." "I was also the star of a popular video game.." "I don't play video games, they are kids stuff."

..and don't forget about the spoiler feature, we need that as well. Custom titles would be cool, I've seen other boards where they have custom titles, and they put a little box next to their names that says "M" (for mod) or "A" (for admin). Hmm.... -Shy

I'm the stereotypical So-Cal resident, so I drink bottled water mainly. It is scary to hear about E.Coli happening up North, hopefully everything will turn out ok in the end. -Shy

Thanks a bunch for the corrections. I hadn't watched the series in a while when I wrote that article, so this will definitely be changed the next time Adam or I update the articles section. -Shy PS: The e-mail of every staff member for the Otaku is located under the "staff" link on the main page.

I'd like to test my OS knowledge, but why can't you just post the questions here? Oh well, whatever...

I haven't read all of Tamers v2.0 yet, I tried printing out a copy in August (some light summer reading) but by the time I caught with that you people added another 40 posts! Plus, my beloved cable internet is down. I'll see what I can do though, maybe I'll be able to catch up with the topic over the weekend. -Shy

Wow, I've seen some weird stuff, but I've never seen a fanfic with Miko as the villain. This is a really well written introduction, you have a talent for this (I love Tamers v2.0, even though everyone thinks I am against it for some reason). This is very creative, and I am actually hoping that Miko turns out to be victorious in the end! ^_^" -Shy

I live in Southern California (also known as "Natural Disaster Capital of the World") and earthquakes are serious. 4.8 is more than enough to cause some serious damage, but I am glad to hear that there have not been any casualties... ...if anyone talks about "The Big One" in front of me I will kill them. If it is half as powerful as everyone thinks it will be, then we are in trouble. -Shy

...or is my house gonna burn down? In my small corner of Southern California a huge fire started a few days ago, many miles away from my hous. But over the week it has begun to grow larger and larger, and it has been moving closer and closer to my town (and more importantly, my house). About 3,000 firefighters are working hard to stop this thing. But it isn't working, and a few people I knew at school were forced to evacuate their homes. the cars in our driveway are beginning to get blanketed with all of the ashes, and I am beginning to worry. Hopefully the fire can be contained (it is still a safe distance from where I live) but the thought of having to evacuate scares me. I was hoping that writing about the fires would calm me down a bit; but it hasn't. Talk about your expeirences with fires here or something... -Shy

Yeah, this is your chance to honor your favorite video games using the art of poetry. Post your own, and critique the poetry of others. I know how excited everyone must be, so let's begin... Ode to a Plumber Searching, hunting... for the woman he loves Into the sea and up the beanstalk Never stopping, never resting Where can she be? Dodging bullets and fighting monsters To find her, to save her With a flower in hand the hero continues Down the tunnel and across the pits The brave one will never cease Until he finds his love Where can she be? Finally he reaches the fortress The girl will be saved Or will the mighty monster destroy the hero? Into the air he jumps And over the monster he goes With an axe he slays the beast And the day is saved Sorry, our princess is in another castle!
