Originally posted by BabyGirl I personally hate guys who think they're funny, and even if they ARE the 'funny joker type', it's not attractive at all
What do you think about shyness, is that attractive? :p You didn't write this. Or if you did, it was not done specifically for the boards. I wouldn't waste my time writing something that long, and I can guarantee that someone with three posts wouldn't. I skimmed through most of it. You try to point out things that have been said a million times in the past, except you try to pass them off as clever and original. Some of it was entertaining, but not all of it was true.
2. Anyone who has been a long time fan of the cable channel "Nickelodeon" realizes that some massive changes have come along in the past few years. When I was young, the only cartoons on Nick were "Inspector Gadget" or "Looney Tunes"; but now they show "Nick Toons" 90 percent of the time. Good shows like "Clarissa Explains it All" or "You Can't Do That On Television" are long gone, which kind of makes me mad... So anyway, I was watching some cartoon on Nick "As Told By Ginger" and they were talking about the main character having her period; a girl was talking about having her period... on Nickelodeon! This completely shocked me, since when did this kind of stuff classify as "children's entertainment" ? These kids shows are getting way too mature for their own good. No six year old needs to understand what a period is, they didn't talk about this kind of stuff when I was that age. On others series it is just as bad, the fourth graders of "Hey Arnold" have boyfriends and girlfriends already, what kind of message is this sending to kids? Shouldn't children's shows be about talking hamsters, or smurfs or something? Or am I just overreacting...?
3. So yeah, let me keep everyone slightly up to speed on what the heck is going on in this topic... (mainly the mods, who are probably lost right now) Some of the digi-peeps bought toy digivices form the store. But ever since they have bought the things, they believe that they can see digimon. It's a combination club/rpg that was revived from the digimon forum. Back on topic, I could have sworn that I saw gatomon the other day at the park. I noticed a shiny metal object coming from the bushes, and I think it was her tail ring. It could have been something else, I really didn't bother to look.
4. I'm really enjoying this story, you are a good writer. -Shy
5. That is the first time I have evr heard about that. *puts down bag of potato chips* I'd like to know where the news show got that information, it sounds really bizarre...
6. I love this episode, especially the lessons... #3) If you see a stranger, follow him #4) Never leave food in the fridge for too long I didn't enjoy the beginning much, I don't believe that Jett would gamble away his clothing. (Of course, if he is stupid enough to play aganst Faye he probably would bet his clothes.) It got better once Jett was bitten by the lobster-thing, the entire episode had a "bad horror movie" quality to it. My favorite scene had to be when Spike was fighting it, watching him pass out from the animal bite was hillarious.
7. I'm not really impressed. Most of the members have never posted at all. The day OB has 3000 active members will be the day I celebrate.
8. I think that pin missle is overrated. I have never seen it do substantial damage to any psychic, but I don't think very highly of the Eevees. In my experience the best Mewtwo killers are Starmie and Zapdos. Starmie has powerful attacks, and good resistance to physic attacks. Zapdos has extremely powerful moves, and if he is able to get a thunder or two in, it is likely that Mewtwo will be reeling in pain.
9. 79.4% pure... I expected to be more than that, I guess I'm not as wholesome as I thought I was.
10. I got my Dad golf stuff *looks at Anna's post* and I have to agree that golf is one of the most boring games out there. But if it wasn't for golf, I wouldn't know what to get him.
11. I have been hearing about the Iron Man movie for ages, which makes me worried about the entire project. The way Iron Man is portrayed in the comics (a guy in a metal suit with lots of guns) wouldn't work very well in a movie. Some comic characters would make for terrible films...
12. The last time I heard about the series it was slated for a 2003 release in the US. It might have changed since then, you know how much CN likes to change around their schedule.
13. I am VERY sorry for not posting in the rpg sooner, I have been so busy studying for my final exams that I wasn't able to post on OB. Once again, I am sorry. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (Edwin sits quietly in a small tavern, sipping a small mug of ale as he watches a beautiful woman across the room. From his backpack Edwin pulls out his wooden mandolin and begins to play a slow melody while staring directly into the eyes of the woman. After a few simple lines the woman runs over to Edwin and begins smothering him with kisses) Woman: That song was beautiful, are you a Bard? (Edwin pulls a small mirror from his pocket, looks into it and fixes his hair) Edwin: Why, yes I am. Do you happen to... like Bards? *winks* Woman: I have great use for you. Come with me immediately so that we can help my father. Edwin: I seem to be confused.. so you don't want to kiss me? Woman: My father needs help, and he needs someone with a wonderful voice. Edwin: No thanks, I don't seem to get along with parents... if you know what I mean. *winks* (The woman grabs Edwin by the shirt collar and drags him out of the tavern. Edwin begins kicking and screaming, but the woman is able to overpower the simple Bard.) Edwin: Ahh! Where are you taking me? Woman: We are going to meet my father; there me and my sisters will use you to.. Edwin: Sisters? Use? I am beginning to like the sound of this. (Awkward pause) Woman: .. we are going to sacrifice you to our god, that way we can resurrect our father, the evil dark mage of light. Edwin: Sacrifice? That doesn't sound good..
14. I am not blaming Misato for being the way she is either, after what happened to her during the second impact she is lucky to have any of her brain cells left. It is still hard to choose a favorite among all of the female characters, all of them are so deep and complex. I have to admit that I don't like Rei very much, she seems to bore me... and her backstory is really weird. Asuka is such a great character too. The problems of her past kind of catch up with her by the end of the series, it made me really sad to see her so depressed.
15. My favorite female character has to be *pauses for drumroll* Ritsuko! I am a huge fan of anime characters who are smart and cautious, instead of the regular dim-wits out there (Misato = Dim-wit,) One of my favorite episodes is the one where she manages to defeat the Angel with her keyboard, with only one second to spare before it would have killed everyone in the NERV facility. It just goes to show that you can be a productive member of the team without having to rely on super powers (unless you count being able to type very fast as a super power.) Ritsuko is confident, but not overly confident.
16.
Originally posted by Cera We CAN'T recreate the Digistory; it'd be impossible. And we CAN'T do a sequel until this one is finished, and we CAN'T finish this one unless you guys help me write up an ending and fill in all the plotholes!!!
It's digimon, why would you need to fill in the plot holes? :p I love reading this, I can't believe I missed it the first time around.
17. "Rain" is such a great song, it is so rare to get that much emotion out of an english performer, I have it burned on my "anime favorites" CD. This is a weird favorite, but "Edward's Theme" (I am not sure of the title) rocks, along with the sing they played during the chase in "Stray Dog Strut."
18.
Originally posted by Cera Ugh...yeah..... :p Did I? I seem to recall going over this before, and I don't think I ever said No. ;) Though we're a bit young to be married, don'cha think? RPGs are another thing entirely, of course.....heh.
If you didn't say "no" then what did you say? I don't think a "maybe" can suffice for that type of question. So I have to make an rpg to "marry" you? I am going to hold you to your word, just wait until the summer starts. *starts laughing maniacly(sp?) while typing up wedding invitations*
19. I don't remember them saying anything about Asuka being made from elite sperm in the show. I could check if you want, but that is the first I have ever heard about it. I think that Rei is so fond of the Commander because he was the one to create her, and she might not even like her at all if you think about it. Rei could just extremely loyal to her creator, and she feels betrayed when the trust between them is broken. There is that word again "feel," I need to organize my thoughts about Rei, that way I don't end up confusing everyone with them.
20. I see what you're saying, and you make a good point (I love this topic, so many intelligent posts!) But it doesn't make any sense to me that the feelings of Shinji's mother would be transferred over to Rei, regardless of the fact that she is practically a clone. This brings up a lot important questions about what the defenition of a soul is, this show can be so complicated.
21. Seph, I haven't seen you in a while. I figured that you were busy with your new child, when do you expect it / when was it born? Anyway, I was trying to explain my theory that the only emotions that Rei can feel are primal and extreme, such as fear and lust. I also do not think that Rei ever had a romantic interest in Shinji, he treated her better than anyone else so I could see how she would be fond of him, but her "heart" belongs to Commander Ikari.
22.
Originally posted by Rick Hunter *Falls over* These ob anime fans are going to be the death of me I swear! -__-
I thought my laziness was going to be the death of you.:p The music on Bebop is wonderful. It perfectly captures the tone of the show, and sets the mood for every episode. "Tank" is such a wonderful theme song, one of my favorites.
23. Thanks for clearing that up a bit Rick. I have not seen the End of Evangelion movie, but it was just announced to come out in the US this July I believe. I loved the original ending, I thought it was amazing. It was so deep and thought provoking, much more than anything I am forced to read in English at least. So Rei can have emotions, but only
for Ikari?
And Kaworu can have emotions for whoever he wants? I need to watch the series over again, I have so many questions... that is what makes it great.
24. I tried having a "romance" with Cera, but she turned down my marriage proposal :bawl: There have been many great couples on the boards, kuja and kittie come to mind first, Blanko-El-Miez's real lifeboyfriend was on the boards for a while too. And of course we cannot forget about the greatest of all otaku couples, Adam and James. ;) -Edit- Piro and Asuka are not married in real life, it is just a joke.
25. :therock: And you think it isn't hard for me either? *points to OB name*
