Originally posted by Final Flash But the most annoying thing? When a brilliant RPG (take James's OAW) goes down the drain, for whatever reason. Especially if It could have turned out to be something really big (which it could've).
I know that feeling, you spend a massive amount of time on your RPG, tweaking and rehashing it until you believe it worthy of praise (or something along those lines..)and then you post it, people sign up and everything seems ok...then suddenly everyone decides not to post and it goes crashing into the ground and smashing into and infinite amount of teardrop shape pieces.... ...

I have to agree with CWB there, with extremely long posts, you've got to have something that stands out at the reader, otherwise you'll be sitting there and reading: 'andthenyougoanddosomethingthatisreallycoolandputyourcharactersignuphereandthenwecanbeginsoon' But I do have to disagree on the dictionary part, but I suppose 'spellcheck' would have been a better choice of words all the same. Personally, I do like a dictionary/thesaurus, it becomes an extremely useful tool when you're strapped for words. But, to each his own.

Liam stood up on his dune, dusting the sand off his cargo pants. Adam was still engaged in a furious tirade of words with Niomi. He chuckled and stumbled back to his gear. He checked his watch. Two hundred hours. No point getting any rest now, they?d be leaving at first light if he had something to do with it. Liam collected up his belongings and stuffed them all into his pack. He grinned, Chaos theory, something he?d learnt from his parents. Once finished, he checked his watch again, ten past two. He sighed and un-holstered his Desert Eagle, checking the sights and mechanisms. He reloaded it and started shooting rounds into the dune in front of him, catching the ejected shells and placing them in his pocket. Adam heard the shots, and immediately knew where they were coming from. He raced up to Liam?s position and asked what the hell he was doing. Liam gazed blankly back and shot another round, catching the shell and putting it into an already bulging pocket, ?Testing bullets.? He shot another round and caught the empty casing, ?Yup. This one works real good like, I?ll be keeping him for later.? Adam groaned, exasperated, ?God! You are so bloody childish! I mean, I go and chide Niomi for what she did, and now you go off and do this? Are you deliberately being stupid or something? I honestly think that you?ve driven me insane!? Adam stood. chest heaving and silent. Liam holstered his Eagle and stood, patting Adam on the shoulder, ?Well done mate, you?ve passed the first step.? Adam?s face was blank, ?What do you mean by ?I?ve passed the first step?? Liam grinned. ?You passed the first step by admitting you have a problem, you?re well on your way to recovery. Now all you have to do is pass the rest of the steps and you?ll be a changed man.? Adam glared, and made out as though he was choking an invisible person before storming back to the helicopters. Before he reached his destination, he paused and turned back to Liam. ?We leave at first light, that?s if there aren?t any more complications. This area has already proven to be...unsafe. It?s in everyone?s best interests that we leave as soon as possible and get to your next mission, there have been reports of military movement in areas to the south, we don?t want to be caught up in a war out in the open.? Liam grinned and gave him the thumbs up, ?Music to my ears Adam, music to my ears.?

Liam wanders over to the four, simultaneously yawning and stretching. He stopped in front of them and began, ?You know I enjoy explosions as much as the next guy, but really thi- He stopped when he found all four sets of eyes glowering back at him, ?What? Don?t look at me, I didn?t do it, for once at least...? Siren rolled her eyes, ?Right. As if. But if you didn?t do it then who did?? Craig did a quick head count, ?Five of us here, so that leaves Andrew, Ryan, Niomi or Iitashi.? Rae jabbed a thumb at a slightly smoking Niomi who was walking towards them. ?You know, I have a hunch that it was her, just a little one mind you, but it might be a good footing to start off on.? Niomi started to slow when she saw the agents standing astride one another, obviously aggravated. Liam yawned and said something along the lines of ?case closed, I need my sleep you know...? he turned to leave, but Jaudiar caught him by the collar. Liam yawned again and looked at her, ?What? Do you mean this isn?t over yet? Honestly...? He snatched his collar free and took residence on a nearby dune, thoroughly disinterested.

Liam flopped down on the sand, somewhat exhausted by the day?s events. A few metres away he noticed Adam walking steadily towards the squad of inactive helicopters. He pondered for a second or two, glancing at the sand clod near his boot and the moving Adam. After thinking about the required force and angle, he leant forward and snatched the cool, hard lump of sand. ?Adam! I have a question for you!? He shouted. Adam grudgingly stopped and faced Liam, mouth opening to send a stinging reply, only to find itself filled with rather foul tasting earth. He spluttered, and coughed, providing much amusement for Liam as he shook his head, gagging. Liam sighed contentedly and lay flat on his back, head resting on a rudimentary pillow of sand. Above him the bright stars winked down, leaving him feeling rather sentimental. Adam stomped over to him, having finished scraping the grit from his tongue. ?What is it?? he snapped Liam looked up innocently, ?Can you tuck me in? I feel ever so frightened out here alone, in the dark and all the werewolves out and about...? Adam seethed and swung his foot to land a mighty blow, Liam bolted upright and caught it, twisting it painfully. Adam winced and suppressed a yelp of pain. Liam let go of the foot and whispered, ?Just keeping you on your toes Adam, just keeping you on your toes...?

Like said above, I consider myself average as well, but I believe all of us see ourselves as average anyway ;) Well what I particularly hate is the absence of grammar in peoples posts. Also when people continue to use the same verbs/adjectives in all of their posts. I mean, MS Word/Works/Publisher is there, bloody well use it! It all boils down to grammar and legibility in my case.

OOC: what the hell do you mean? lol It's just in a slump, believe me I wouldn't give up on this one yet, besides, I'm still figuring out my bloody post, and juggling everything else and the fact that school starts tomorrow...bah Anyhow, cut this short at your own risk. ;) ____ Saethi looked at the void surrounding him, after he had finished brutally beating the demon lying in a pool of blood at his feet. Odd, Summer had vanished. ?This must be over then, well hello real world for me!? He paused, waiting for something to pull him back out. Nothing happened. He sighed and the demon at his feet began laughing, blood dripping out of his broken lips. ?Fool, you haven?t won yet. I have the feeling the slayer had a little trouble when she shared a bit of her life force around.? Saethi was quiet, stunned into a small silence. He snapped out of it and kicked the demon viciously in the ribs, relishing the cracking sound that ensued. He gathered his thoughts, thinking over his predicament. He had to get out of this bloody nightmare and do something about what was going on. A small thought niggled in his mind, well the part of his mind that he?d retained control of, the only reason why he was still here was that the mangled mess of a demon was still here. Saethi smiled, he was going to enjoy this. ~~~~~ Tasya glanced over at the immobile Saethi, ?He?s stabilising, might pull through to our world any second now...? she glanced over at Summer, ?but I can?t find her anywhere. Her pulse...seems to have come back, faintly but I don?t know...? Tasya took a shocked step backwards when Saethi sat bolt upright, chest heaving as he took great gulps of air back into his system. Saethi coughed, and looked around the room, eyes rapidly changing back to their familiar blue hue. ?Wha...what?s going on?? There was a stunned silence. Saethi?s gaze rested on the unconscious Summer, he tightened his grip on her pale cold hand, immobile and thinking.

Liam woke up, and rapidly began grumbling. He yawned and stretched out his arms, ignoring the grating sound of several vertebrae snapping back into place. ?Hate to see an x-ray of my wear and tear when I?m sixty...if I live that long...? He yawned again and stood, wandering over to the girls, in the process putting on his shoulder holster and headset. ?What the hell do you want A...a...a...Adam,? he stuttered, mid yawn. ?There better be a good reason why you inadvertently woke me up and caused me to even more want to blast a cap into your ***.? Rae motioned to the semi-conscious Liam that his headset wasn?t actually on...Siren and Jaudiar stifled snorts of laughter that crept up their throats. ?Wha? Oh I see, thankyou.? Liam sighed and flicked his headset on, instantly barking into it, ?Adam this better be bloody important.? Adam, on the other end of the line smirked, ?No reason to get your knickers in a knot Liam,? Liam on the ground started to turn a violent shade of red, ?I?ll be there with a helicopter squad in no time. It?s too dangerous to fly the Hercules as planned, so the best thing to do is airlift you guys out and take you to the nearby Air base.? By now all the team members had woken up and put on their headsets, grins were split all round, most of them were very tired of the freezing night time sand, sand in their food, sand in their ears. Well basically just the sand really...

Liam listened to the thunderous roar in the distance. Good. One less monstrosity in the world. He sighed with smug satisfaction curling his lips. He raised the GPS again to see the Carpet Bombers split and veer off as another squad of unidentified aircraft flew through them. ?Bugger.? He muttered to himself. ?We might be here for longer than expected. The airspace isn?t safe, and doesn?t look like it will be for a long time.? He sighed and walked into the cabin of the Hercules, intent on asking the pilot the departure time. ?Bah, bloody Adam sending us into a hot zone like- the pilot cut his sentence short and looked up when Liam crossed the threshold, ?Uh yes?? ?When do we leave?? The pilot cleared his throat, ?Not until the conflict is over buddy. So don?t expect us to be leaving anytime soon.? Liam groaned. ?Ok, rough estimate then?? ?Dunno,? the pilot turned to his co pilot, ?how about you? Any ideas?? The co pilot checked the GPS and scratched his chin, ?Either tomorrow, or sometime next week. All depends on how many resources the government is willing to spend on us.? Liam groaned, ?Thankyou gentlemen. One thing I need to make clear though, if we don?t leave tomorrow, I will throw you outta this plane and fly us out myself. I don?t care if there is conflict going on! We have parachutes for all and lots and lots of guns! Clear yet? We leave tomorrow, I don?t care where we?re going as long as it?s away from here. Got it?? Liam left and slammed the door behind him. Bah, this place was boring him, besides, that nagging dream and feeling was growing stronger.

Athen, wondering what caused his sudden lack of company, followed swiftly on their trail. He emerged from the shadows at Jaudiar's side, bemused look on his face. 'C'mon Jaudiar, act your age,' he playfully whispered to her ear. Jaudiar didn't respond, the light intensified on her blade. Athen shrugged and for the first time truly recognised the figure standing before them. 'Kain I presume...' he muttered. Athen gave a sarcastic bow and walked to the side of the street, sitting on a nearby windowsill.

WeEll done flashy, now it's finished, rather than sinking into some dank, dark waste of otaku oblivion like so many of my RPG's.. *blinks* Did I uh..say that out loud? O_o;; Anyhoo, good anticlimactic ending, or is it a climactic ending? Who knows? For one thing I don't that's for sure...

Liam drummed his fingers on the side of the hummer and checked out the GPS on the mobile phone. Nothing in any direction other then massive flats of sand. Must be why extraction chose this spot, perfect runway for a Hercules. Minutes later a small blip appeared on the screen, aircraft details appeared and Adam?s voice crackled over the headphones. ?So is the location safe down there or what? Everyone out?? Liam sighed. ?It?s safe Adam, quiet as the proverbial grave. Now get your arse down here and get us out of here. Some of us are wanting creature comforts.? Liam rolled his eyes when he said this and glanced down at the GPS again. ?Adam, is that the air strike approaching from the East?? he asked. ?Yup, those are our guys.? ?Then the ones approaching from the south would be...?? ?Ah...that might be a problem...?

I'd like to point out to everyone here that yes, the reporter was actually in America, on the streets, and no, it wasn't a set up. Was it last week or the week before when that street vendor said that if Australia didn't get it's arse into gear and join the 'War on Terror,' they'd send us to the same fiery hell that Saddam created for himself? Isn't it nice to know that you and your country is loved?
-
I remember that, lol, it was hilarious. Especially when they had that reporter on the streets of (New York was it?) asking what they thought of capital punishment and what new capital punishment they believed should be added.
By a really old Lady 'I think that eaten by wild animals one is pretty good, I'd pay to see that'
Funny, but seriously disturbing at the same time...O_o;;

If worse gets to worse, we can always stage a big brother break out... *remembers 'Celebrity' Big Brother and the break out the last three guys staged* lol only over here... --- I can't say I'm not interested. I mean I have self control, I can avoid sending Flash a pm to sign up for this. I really can you know *mouse wavers over 'send pm'* must..resist.....*clicks send pm* *shrugs* :whoops:

Siren and Ryan were quietly debating over whether or not they should take the command centre or not, Liam and Craig were below them at the main entrance. Liam nodded at Craig and they both kicked the door open and emptied several magazines into many random targets. When the room had settled, Liam noticed Ryan and Siren through the ventilation hatch. He nudged Craig in the ribs and pointed to them. ?Gee wiz guys! Take your time already. I mean it?s not as though Adam is going to carpet bomb this place in three hours is it?? Ryan?s eyes bugged out and Liam smirked, he wandered over to the computer terminal laughing all the way. Siren smacked Ryan up the back of the head and knocked out the mesh cover of the shaft, jumping out into the room. Liam brought up the nearby monitor. ?How thoughtful,? he said to the corpse at his feet. ?Thank you for not logging out, it makes my job so much easier.? Liam pulled his laptop, several USB and Fire wire cables from his backpack and started jimmying the cables into their respective ports. He dragged the entire C and D drives to his laptop?s second hard drive. No time to be picky, there wasn?t any time to waste. A small notification window popped up on the screen, something about ?You need an Administrator?s password to copy files off the server.? Liam chuckled and overrode it on his laptop. A few minutes later Liam had the entire server loaded onto the hard drive. ?All done.? He said. ?Let?s get the hell out of here and call in an air strike. We?ve got a few more of these suckers to infiltrate yet.?

Thank god we don't have Home coming or whatever over here. *laughs* I really don't support that kind of thing, all I could stomach was the Years eight, nine and ten CLD days. Meditating? Pfft. I've seen and done buddhist meditating, and lying on the floor for 50 minutes+ does not meditation make believe you me! Ahem, now I'm rambling, and remembering the fact next year invloves the year 11 retreat...-.- sigh..

I'm not surprised at that, isn't Melbourne also the most congested/populated area in Australia or something like that? On a further note, the Time magazine put Melbourne as the murder capital of the world, not just Australia. Something that I find highly amusing. And if I am wrong, *shrugs* blame my source, WIN news, Channel 10 and the ABC (that's the Australian one folks)

Personally I believe Jackie Chan's chinese subbed movies were his best. (Good old SBS) Dragon Twins was hilarious, unfortunately I cant remember the other titles of his films, but they're all good. Especially the one where he uncovers a secret Nazi research bunker with more gold in it then you can poke a stick at... *watches people poke sticks at it* Well I stand corrected... *EDIT* I'm not surprised really about the stunts, what little amount he's doing is amazing seeing as he's in his late fifties, totally amazing person. When you look at the stunts he's doing now, you still cant imagine some one that age (ie your parents) doing that can you?

Liam kept his eyes on the entrance to the base, five or six Klashnikov bearing figures were running out. He sighed, things were getting repetitive. He snapped a flash bang from his waist and ripped out the pin. ?You guys might want to shield your eyes or something,? he muttered into the headset. Liam stood and threw the black grenade right into the attacking squad?s faces. He sunk back down behind the dune and listened for the bang before standing again. All six figures were rubbing their eyes in pain and one or two had even dropped their rifles. Liam un-holstered his Desert Eagle and emptied several rounds into them. He holstered it again and brought around his rifle, advancing on the base. In the corner of his eye he made out the glass eye of a mounted video camera. Fine. Let them watch. The show was just about to get started.
-
Liam reloaded his rifle, pausing to see what was going on in the compound. Silent as the grave. The remaining terrorists must have fled further into it, somewhat terrified. He pondered this. Many third world terrorist regimes have squads of children, why should they be frightened of a mere nine of them? Odd. Rae snapped him out of his trance and repeated her question. Liam stood, ?Flush them out of course. Go in, fill up the corridors with flame, lock ourselves in the computer terminal, steal some stuff then exterminate the lot of them.? Rae nodded and advanced on the compound, the others followed. Liam glanced at the silent Jaudiar. ?Wassamatter? Need ammunition?? Jaudiar nodded, holding up her pistol. ?Yup, all gone, my whole squad pumped it all out on that bloody tank,? she nodded to the smouldering wreck. ?So if you expect me to help, you better provide something.? Liam raised an eyebrow and glanced at the pistol, ?I haven?t got ammunition for that I?m afraid. And I don?t have any more weapons other than my pistol and you?re going to need something more substantial.? He paused, thinking. Then a spark of inspiration illuminated a memory. He grinned and ran over to the parked hummer, whole body literally clinking with ammunition and the remaining flash bangs. He fished around in the rear compartment of the hummer, Jaudiar walked over, intrigued. ?Here it is.? Liam said while hefting out a large khaki case. ?A FN P90, courtesy of the government and the sometimes useful Adam.? Jaudiar rolled her eyes and opened the case, pulling out the P90. Liam waited while she stored the spare cartridges in assorted pockets. He sighed in exasperation, ?Bloody hell! I?m getting in there. If you need help, call one of us on the headset in the case.? He pointed to the blue tooth headset. ?Now if you?ll excuse me, I?ve got some interesting people to meet that I?ve got to shoot.?
-
OOC: yes Raiha is in the RPG, one of a couple of surprises that were installed. Edit: First time for small caps O_o; -- ?Alright then. Get in the hummer and we?ll get moving. We?ve got a base to burn to the ground? Liam smiled when he said this, winking at Rae with her flamethrower. Jaudiar climbed into the spare seat at the back. Andrew started the engine and turned the hummer around, following the beacon of the other hummer. Andrew took a quick glance at the blue beacon, ?Uh, guys. Should they be that close to the base?? Liam cussed and flicked his headset back to the normal bandwidth, ?Bloody hell Ryan! Move back now!? Only static responded. ?Niomi? Craig?- -Craig here.? Liam smirked, Craig was always the one to receive the call, something to do with being a survivor. ?Can you tell me why the hell your jeep is so close to the base camp?? Siren noticed the beacon disappear, and a message flash reporting the signal lost. ?Well, why the jeep was so close to the camp.? Craig didn?t respond for a while, sounds of gunfire came across the radio first, ?Yeah, the hummer came under fire, the base location was off. We drove straight into the thing and came under massive fire. We only got away before some tank came along and started raining hell fire on us.? More gunfire. ?The tank flamed the hummer just a second ago, totally destroyed it.? Rae looked up at the horizon. Black smoke was being belched up into the blue sky. She winced, tightening her grip on the anti-aircraft gun in front of her. ?Fall back then.? Liam ordered. ?Can?t.? It was Ryan?s voice this time, ?we?re penned in by the anti personnel guns on the walls and the tank keeps on blasting away with it?s flamer. It?s only a matter of time before they get one of us.? Liam cussed again. Everyone seated in the hummer silently agreed with him. Andrew pressed harder on the pedal, the hummer neared a hundred and ten kilometres per hour. He kept to the flats, curving dangerously around the flats. Gradually the silence around them was filled with the clatter of automatic fire, and images of a war zone came into view. All four members of the team were pinned down in a cluster of dunes, the tank was taking pot shots at them, it was only a matter of time before the gunner decided to shoot over the dunes. There was not a soul in sight, only two blackened silhouettes standing behind the scarred bullet proof shielding surrounding the two guns were seen. Jaudiar stood and started tinkering with the AA gun. Rae was shocked out of a trance and asked what the hell she was doing. Jaudiar faced her and winked, the AA gun dropped horizontal. ?There. That should give the bastards a shock. Blow the hell out of those anti personnel's.? Rae nodded and swung the gun round, pumping the trigger for all it was worth. The first tower literally exploded into pieces, bullet proof glass falling to the sand and closely followed by a bleeding pulp of a body. All five members of the hummer gave a small cheer, which quickly vanished when the other tower returned fire, puffs of sand quickly raking their way towards the passengers. The tank?s turret turned, gears grinding. Liam smacked Andrew up the back of the head, shocking him into throwing the hummer forward. A searing jet of fire flew past the rear of the vehicle. Liam could feel the blisters popping on his shoulders as tendrils of fire played past him. He patted down his smoking vest and ripped the Commando off it?s bracket, emptying it?s magazine into the front of the tank. Sparks scattered over the front, not penetrating, Liam shook his head and reloaded. ?Rae, take out the remaining tower. Andrew continue circling around the tank. Siren grab your rifle and come with me. Jaudiar take Siren?s place.? Siren rolled her eyes, ?And why exactly should we take orders from you?? Liam?s face was grave, ?Because I?m the one with the explosives and a plan. Not to mention that I?m trigger happy.? He laughed and jumped off the back of the hummer, spraying the remaining tower with bullets and fumbling with the HE grenade at his waist. Siren followed behind, shaking her head and muttering something about, ?psychotic suicidal bas- -- The turret released another jet of flame, missing the hummer by inches. Liam smirked and jumped on the back of the tank, followed shortly by Siren. ?Good,he thought,?We?re on it?s blind side...now to blow up the fuel tank...? Siren played with her rifle, keeping an eye on the entrance to the base, ?Remind me why the hell I?m sitting on the back of a WWII tank with you.? Liam grinned, ?Because I?m a hopeless romantic?? Siren groaned, ?This is not the time for jokes Liam...? ?Ah, but it is the time for very big explosions however.? Liam jammed two High Explosive grenades onto the fuel tank for the flamethrower, adding as an after thought a radio detonator and a small stick of C4. He gave Siren the thumbs up, ?Now?s the bit were we run like hell for cover.? He armed the small bomb and leapt off the back of the tank, ordering the others to find cover fast. He jumped behind the dune, checked where everyone was, and pressed the detonate button. A very, very large explosion followed.

Has anyone besides me seen the ABC's new comedy show CNNNN? (That's ABC Australia folks) CNNNN, abbreviation of Chaser Non-stop News Network is rather amusing, boasting amusing news about Anna-Nicole Smiths new implants and otherwise :p Homepage: www.abc.net.au/cnnnn
Saddam's Dossier of Evil Last week, President Bush demanded unconditional access for weapons inspectors. And what does Saddam go and do? He gives unconditional access to weapons inspectors. Can you believe the nerve? It was a very aggressive act of compliance. Very provocative compliance. President Bush mustn't take yes for an answer. CNNNN has uncovered secret CIA proof that Saddam is clearly developing invisible weapons capability. Just examine the evidence of Iraq's weapons of mass illusion. And this all fits into place ? no wonder they invited the inspectors in. They knew nobody would find anything. They are mocking us. And CNNNN asks: could these weapons already be in America? OOC: As far as I know, you're with the second team. --- Liam adjusted his headset, hearing the incoming message ?Sup Ryan?? Ryan winced at the static, ?What do we do with the cage?? Liam rolled his eyes, ?The cage is collapsible. Collapse it, it's covered in camouflage paint so all you have to do is lie it flat and leave it, no problem.? ?Ok then, well that?s sorted...? Liam flicked his headset to narrowband, shutting out any radio signals outside of the two hundred metre radius. Now was no time for distractions. He climbed into the back of the hummer, mounting his Sig Commando on it?s appropriate rest. Andrew took the driver?s seat while Siren took the anti-personnel and Rae armed the anti-aircraft. Andrew turned on the GPS. ?According to the last beacon we received, the team should be right here.? He jabbed a finger at a flashing red dot on the screen. ?So that?s about a klick or so from our location. We should get there in no time at all, then check for any form of life, camouflage, that kind of thing.? Liam poked him in the back of the head. ?Less yapping and more driving, we?re on a schedule here y-know.? Siren peered at the beacon on the GPS, ?Is it just me or is that little dot moving towards us?? ?Looks like it,? Rae said, adding her two cents. Andrew gunned the engine and the hummer started climbing the dunes. Liam shouted out over the roar of the engine, ?Oi! Andrew! Don?t forget, this thing cost about three hundred and fifty thousand, so take it easy ok?? Andrew grinned and merely pushed the pedal to the floor, the hummer took off along the flats, spraying sand out behind it. In the distance a figure was just made out in the haze.
