*cries* ooo I'm so proud! Meh little baby is all grown up! lol, I know for sure I'm going to be hunted down at school on monday for that ----- But seriously now, it is marvellously well written. Mind you I'm not much of a judge on writing poetry as I've detested doing it ever since it was mandatory at primary school. .

Athen scratched his head and sighed. The back of the van was silent, lurching forward as the brakes were pressed. Athen looked up and took his Sig and ammunition back from one of the men. The back doors opened and he stepped out, feeling the weight of the womans gaze. He turned around when he landed in the mud to see the van rocketing off, belching black smoke into the air. Athen sighed and holstered his gun, buttoning up his coat Athen: Now where on earth am I? He walked along the track, surprised to see the tattoo's glowing a bright blue when they were in a shadow. He smiled, this could be very useful. .very useful indeed.

What would you do if you had 17 years to live?
liamc2 replied to Sandy's topic in General Discussion
Well we all have abysmal life expectations. Its true, don't lie to me. I think all of you would fit bloody nicely in the 1700's when everyone was bloody grateful to even live to 35. A sad, abysmal world we live in. To think that people would rather die than face growing old with another, or growing old and seeing what life brings. Very cowardly if you ask me, very cowardly. ______ -
The thing is though, most of us don't have high speed connections lol. At the moment MS pain is all I have, and various other programs that have small features that enable the exploitation of many images: Word *don't laugh, I'm serious* Printmaster 8.0 *occaisionally use this one* Irfan view *don't know why, pretty useless* WWWGifani *for the obvious* And finally MS paint which is really more usefull than its given credit (In case you are wondering, yes the banner in my signature is a genuine MS Paint only product)

Whoa. .imagine the budget. .o_O Most, if not all, of those people get paid an average 40 million dollars. That budget would be huge O_o;;; Methinky if the movie was a flop like Spirits Within, Squaresoft would be bankrupt. Then they'd be taken over by Microsoft and forced to create evil X-Box games that would indirectly result in Bill Gates ruling the would and owning my house :worried: *cough* Maybe not my house. . I need some sleep. .><

OOC: Okie doke, bear with me now ok? I made some changes to this. ------ A final volley of shots tore through the air and back tyres of the car. Sparks flew as the car slid on its rims. The last car in the chain waited to see what would happen, they wouldn't be dissapointed. Saethi ignored the intense screeching to change gear and pull a shard of glass from his cheek, last memento of the rear windscreen. His hands slipped on the blood soaked wheel as the car teetered on two wheels for a few seconds. The spikes protruding from his knuckles leaked more blackish crimson blood. The mutation was accelerating at an alarming rate, barbs jutted out his arms and down his spine, ripping the leather seat. Saethi winced with the pain, a cloud of blood blurred his vision, he was getting dizzy. The putrid smell of drying blood wafted to his nostrils from his sticky once-orange shirt. Another bony thorn sent a spasm running up his chest, Saethi blinked the blood from his eyes in time to see the brick wall rushing to meet him. ~~~~~~~~ ?I?m surprised the bästard survived the accident, in one piece and conscious to top it off.? Mangus and Summer sat peering through a two way mirror at the still bleeding Saethi. Summer raised an eyebrow. The council meeting had been suddenly delayed when one of the cars turned up with Saethi chained to the max, she wasn't all that happy with it either. ?So he was right, you were going to put him in a little padded cell.? Mangus fidgeted and Summed became preoccupied with the mug she was holding. ?Well we couldn?t afford to have another running around now could we?? Mangus blanched suddenly when he realised he said too much. Summer raised he gaze, face grim, ?So I thought,? Summer sighed, ?Bloody hell. So I take it this time?s Saethi has fully transformed. Like what Tasya said? ?About right. 25 and clinically insane. Lives underground in Mazine?s territory, eats anyone and anything that comes near him. We?ve lost many a squad trying to bring him down, but its like he?s friggin? invincible. Mazine?s had her share of bad luck too. That?s why we can?t afford to have him free? Mangus rose and led Summer through to a bank of computers. One of the screens bore old newspaper articles while on others strands of DNA rotated slowly. Mangus brought up a newspaper article, dated seven years ago. ?Man found ripped in half, case of extreme anaemia. Witnesses at the scene claim to have seen a blue-haired teenager on a motorbike render his corpse asunder.? Mangus closed the screen an opened another. ?Hospital records, admitted with nine shots to the chest, left the same day under his own steam. The police have been looking for him since.? Summer chuckled to herself as she recapped the nights events. The same, somewhat quiet Saethi causing all this mayhem. Amusing really, but they had to kill him, or do something to get him back to normal again, before it?s too late. ?Right, lets stake him now.? ?Its not that easy Summer. You for one should know that. You saw what he did to those squads. Its his DNA,? Magnus ignored Summer?s derisive snort, ?no I?m serious Summer. Dead serious. This guy is a literal catalyst of DNA. The human DNA in him overrides the vampyric aversion to sunlight and weakness to wood. In turn the vampyric raw power is fuelling the human side. ?What about the third strand then? Demonic?? Summer pointed to the silently twirling red thread. Mangus cleared his throat, ?Yup, it?s what?s causing the mutation. Don?t ask me how it got in there, but it?s sitting nicely with the others. Not to mention the chromosomes point out it?s a female strand, the make up totally different from Saethi.? ?You mean that Saethi was sired by a demoness? You?ve got to be bloody joking!? Mangus shook his head. ?No, not by a demoness. Vampiress. The theory is that the girl that got him was killed halfway through the process, leaving Saethi in limbo. Well as we all know bad little vampires go to hell, well this one must have been so bad she was given a second chance, and a demonic form.? By now Summer had caught onto the line of thinking, ?so when she was transformed, so was her blood in Saethi somehow...leaving him totally messed up...? Mangus nodded and gazed intently at the video feed coming from Saethi?s cell. ?What I?d give to see what?s going inside that messed up mind of his.? Summer nodded and watched the screen. As if on cue, Saethi looked up and gazed intently back. He blinked, once, twice, then Summer swore loudly and looked at Mangus. Mangus looked back worried, ?What? What is it?? Summer glanced back at the display, ?Look at his eyes Mangus, look at his bloody eyes. The fights almost gone, he?s turning right now. If we don?t snap him out of it soon we?re all going to be screwed.? Saethi glared at the camera in the corner of his cell, obsidian eyes blinking. He blinked again, focusing, the camera began to melt, sparking violently and giving off an acrid stench. Saethi smirked. Soon enough. .

Well although I agree with much of what has been said here, I also have to disagree with cloricus' statement 'I also hate hypocrites' If you know cloricus in any way, that statement has the suttle flavour of irony. . ----- Well the only real grudge I have against America is their accusations against Australia's treatment of illegal immigrants. We have them in a detention centre right? This is because they are illegal immigrants, most of them fled their country because that they were the wealthy, the prostitutes, the mobsters. Only a small percentage were actually refugees, and the refugees were given the appropriate passes. Meanwhile America locks up their refugees in prisons, treating them like hardened criminals. Often the refugees are bartered with other prisons so more money is able to be made from them. (for those of you unfamiliar with this, the government pays prisons stacks loads of money for caring for refugees, one problem, the prisons don't want to lose their meal ticket) What ever happened to give me your poor and downtrodded?

OOC: Short I know, but I can't do much until the others get here. . _____ Isthanae raised an eyebrow, at the rate this was going the whole party was going to be female. Suddenly he felt very, very alone. Isthanae shrugged off the feeling and ushered them both into the Sanctum, closing the doors behind him. The gloom and silence engulfed them all as they walked closer. Isthanae took his place leaning up against the wall before speaking, ?So, I know you?re Kat, but I do not know your name. I?m Isthanae by the way.? Siren nodded, eyes taking in the magnificence of the sanctum ?Siren, I got this weird red letter that told me to come here...so what?s this all about?? Isthanae looked at the oracle, ?That?s what I would like to know?

What would you do if you had 17 years to live?
liamc2 replied to Sandy's topic in General Discussion
lol, everyone likes slamming liamc2 when he gets the facts wrong eh? Well, I see a few of you wish to survive the blast in underground shelters. Pity really. Unless you have the ability to live a hundred years in there, you haven't got a hope baby. Like I said, if earth were to survive, the smoke created from the world burning at whatever millions of degrees celcius, would cast the would into a artificial winter. The smoke would block the sun and we'd all freeze. Lets count up all the killer things: 1. Dirty great thumping fireball of a rock-very lethal 2. All consuming fire that would turn the planet into charcoal-very lethal 3. Artificial winter that would freeze everything- frostbitelicious! As science claims, the dinosaurs were wiped out by the comets, asteroids fireballs and the artificial winter. It took millions of years for us to 'evovle' Whats the point of surviving if you live on a frozen piece of godforsaken charcoal? ------ Take that discovery channel :p -
Saethi sat and wiped the blood off his knuckles, Summer took a quick glance and noticed a scar on each knuckle. Saethi looked at her then folded his arms and looked out the window. The transformation had been brief and small this time, the bony blades had erupted from his knuckles but vanished as quickly as they came. Summer may have conquered her internal daemons, but Saethi?s were still raging. The human side in him had called out to Summer during the battle, gained control, but it weakened the rest of him, leaving him helpless. Saethi looked at his reflection in the window, cracking his knuckles at the sight of blue swirling in the cold steel grey. There hadn?t been much blood in the vampyres he killed, less than a hundred millilitres all up, he needed some now. He glanced at Summer then at the others in the car. He should have taken the offer before...all this goodness crap was pointless. Why bother to live if it means a padded cell? He glanced at Mangus, he knew that?s where they were taking him. The power to read ones mind can be very useful, even if you cannot control it. Saethi glared at Mangus. He did not want to live out his meagre life imprisoned in some institution while people in lab coats perform twisted experiments on his body. ?Greater good my a??.? Saethi glared at Mangus constantly, all the while thinking the one sentence over and over. After a few minutes something clicked, and Mangus hit the brakes to turn around and see two cold eyes glaring back at him. Mangus looked surprised, shocked even, Summer looked at Saethi as well as did the woman in front. ?You heard me Mangus. Greater good my a??? Summer raised an eyebrow and looked at Mangus questioningly. Mangus stared blankly back, mind ticking over an answer before he spoke ?I have no idea what he?s talking about...care to enlighten us Saethi?? His voice was shaky, Summer could tell something was up but said nothing and raised an eyebrow. ?Very amusing Mangus, unfortunately for you, other than the demonic transformations that I?m sure you already know about, I have inherited another, lets say...useful gift.? Saethi turned to Summer ?I?m sure you are wondering why their rescue was so late in its forthcoming, well I had this theory, and now I?ve verified it. Those bästards have been watching us since the transformation, but rather then coming to save us, they decided on waiting a while until they though they would have the resources to overpower my dark side and Mazine. Wait until I faltered or she made a mistake, who cares if ickle Summer gets a little banged up? As long as they have their hybrid beast to test on, it?ll be alright. Isn?t that right Mangus?? Mangus had remained silent through it all, finally he nodded, and Summer took a shock silence ?Its true,? he said, ?Most of it anyway...and we were taking Saethi to be locked up...prevent you from being harmed you see Summer...just to protect you...? Saethi smirked while Summer continued to remain surprised. He took a breath and raised his knuckles to show that they were bleeding profusely again. ?Oh dear,? he said with malice, ?its happening again. Whatever will I do? I could control it and save my friends,? a cold shudder rippled through the car, ?or I could have myself a little fun. Who cares if I die? It will only take me closer to my true allies? Saethi broke open the door, leaving a smear of blood on the handle. He continued to walk away and across to a car parked on the street. The people in the cars took a stunned silence, then the woman snapped them out of it when she gave an order through the radio to take Saethi down by ?any means necessary.? Saethi ripped the door off the car while his body continued to transform. The doors of the black sedans started to open while vamps armed with shotguns and crossbows climbed out. Saethi merely laughed and gunned the engine, flooring it and driving back over the border while a hail of ammunition followed fiercely behind. The dark side beckoned and Saethi was about to take the call

Athen increased from a brisk walk to a run, all the while the acrid stench of flesh filling his nose, and screams deafening his ears. He ran around another dilapidated building to see something that made him sick to his stomach, he faltered, courage sagging to from his breast to his stomach. More screams and the fire was piled higher, Athen's face was curling crimson, flushing the green tinges out. He muttered and dropped his hand to his blade
-
Athen walked briskly down the main road, ignoring the jeers of the village fools. NPF: Oi! Aye you scotsman! Wheres ye kilt? NP2: Aye yea! Yer kilt! Athen turned and started shouting at them, he knew he shouldn't have, it would result in more remarks and laughter, but he did any way. . Athen: Aye fools! Return your bloody filth encrusted hovels or ye may find yerself tasting cold steel! Ye hear me! Silence...Athen turned and continued walking, he couldn't say that he wasn't displeased with their fearful silence, then all pride came crashing down around his ears NPF: What he say? NPF3: Nay idea John, wh-he say you reckon Matthew? NPF2: I dunno. . So it went on, Athen sighed and shook his head, a good rebuke was always wasted on the fools. He continued walking, then the sounds of screaming reached his ears. .

Well this is a quickie of a short story, spawned from a piece of artwork at the Downlands Art Exhibition, a class assignment really. Ask MarBar, MarBar knows allllllllllllll about it as he's in my class Without further ado: Eden The old man bent forward, gnarled hands sifting through the red sand. Many times he had been here to search for trinkets that were hidden in the scrap metal. He blinked, blue eyes watering as the harsh wind blew sand across his face. He raised his veil higher until his eyes were blue jewels peeking out of a dark cave. A large piece of metal was pulled out of the sand by the wind and hurled at the old man. He heard the noise and looked up, casually stepping to one side, again anxiously searching for something of interest. Hours went by, still nothing, but the wind had vanished, that was as bonus. No wind would let the suns shine their light over all of the wreckage and illuminate unearthed treasure. He stood straight, massaging his backbone before climbing up the dune. When at the top he lowered the veil and raised a hand to shield his eyes from the harshness of the suns. He glanced round; aching for something of worth that could help feed him for another day. At last! A glimmer! He smiled, causing his tanned face to exaggerate the already prominent wrinkles. He slid down the dune, running past the rusted shells of once mighty vessels that sailed the oceans that is the sky. But that was a long time ago, when the planet was filled with life and water, before the outsiders came. A long time ago the planet was a paradise, often called Eden by people who came. The inhabitants of the planet were pleased to see others from off the world, agreeing to let them stay. A mistake they would soon regret. The outsiders came in their large vessels and started to pump water from Eden to fill their own. The people of Eden, seeing their world was dieing, tried to stop the outsiders, conflict arose. Soon war broke out. The outsiders own weapons were used against them, their mighty vessels were destroyed, the wreckage now littered over most of the desert that Eden now is. The remaining outsiders left with their precious cargo, leaving the people of Eden to die. The old man stopped at an almost intact fighter vessel, intact albeit one sheared off wing. He walked forward, edging closer to the pointy part of the vessel. The shiny treasure he was seeking was really broken glass. He sighed, turning to go home, but his eye was caught by something else. He walked in for a closer inspection? There! Something gold rimmed, something of worth! He reached forward and prised the trinket from the remnants of an outsiders face. The old man had seen these before, when he was a child, when the people of Eden were powerful. Yes, yes they were! Glasses! Strange though?these glasses have only two lenses?what a strange people these outsiders were. The old man grinned and pocketed the treasure, three blue eyes blinking in the harshness of the two suns. *edit* :p

OOC: alrighty then, this RPG has just been resurrected *quells an urge for a happy dance* ------ Isthanae smiled to himself, the strangest things happen when you?re off duty... Lucky for him he caught her just in time, he had seen a spell like that being used before, the result wasn?t very pretty, his Cithan spent the rest of the day sluicing the remnants of the orcish horde back into the wilderness. ?So what?s your name? Feisty cat you are, your father happen to be Sky? You?ve got that spirit about you. Great man, you wouldn?t want anyone else beside you during an orcish raid...? Kat was silent, holding back tears at the mention of her fathers name, she balled her fists before speaking . ?Katanga, Katanga Haku, friends call me Kat? Isthanae hid a grin, ?No surprises there, my names Isthanae. Cithan of the watch, pleased to meet you, pity about the circumstances,? he looked back over his shoulder at the craters. ?Well as you may or not know, six of us have been called to the sanctum...so far you are the first one I?ve met...?

What would you do if you had 17 years to live?
liamc2 replied to Sandy's topic in General Discussion
Seriosuly, comets and meteors have been hitting earth for a millenia, the world goes on. One meteor 200m in diameter (tiny compared to the ones floating around earth) would flash fire the earth into cinders, the ash would be thrown into the sky, creating pernament winter. Ultimately destroying all life. None of this 'one continant' stuff. Also, another thing, scientists have known for quite a while now about a comet that is heading for earth. SV17, something like that, it may hit earth or it will miss it by 30 million miles. These things happen all the time, not meaning to burst your bubble or anything, but there is always a space born behemoth heading for Earth, and so far all have missed or burnt up in the atmosphere. (But there is an extremely large crater north of Russia from a somewhat recent meteor that hit) -

Yes I am a great fan of Artemis Fowl, my brother was given it for his birthday, I read a couple of chapters while waiting for dinner. . And well, he never saw it again until the next morning lol ____ Also recently we bought the second book, as all of us are now avid readers, I read it (before everyone else ) and its great, a must read book. But I've never heard anything about a movie. .

I'd say visit the National Geographic shop, there's bound to be something there for him ;)

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, Fabled Lands is the best Fantasy book series ever made. A real text based RPG book series written by and author that was the producer for the White Dwarf Warhammer magazine. .*cackles* very good books. . As for normal fantasy books, you cannot beat Lord of the Rings (Yes I did read the whole series when I was in grade 5, when I was ten )
