Actually, I have been toying with the idea of having a few non-birthright characters in the story, but they will be taken from those who have already signed up.
-
OOC: I probably should have put the list up in here aswell as in the sign ups, no offense meant D_A but you didn't make the cut Mist - Mara DeathKnight - Lateralus Warlock - Raynor Sere Tuscumbia - Katanga Gold_Angewomon - Phyra liamc2 - Isthanae _______ Isthanae continue to run towards the sanctum, soaking up the light and warmth from the sun, the magic in him swelled joyfully. It was good to be alive! He ran through most of the market awkwardly slinging his shield over his shoulders until is was resting comfortably over his pack. The many smells of the market reached him as he ran through the stalls. Then something caught his eye. ?Why do these things always happen on my day off?? In the corner of the market, out of sight of the normal shoppers stood a small band of thieves, daggers drawn on one of the older wealthy merchants. Isthanae sighed and strode over to them, unsheathing his blade as he walked. One of the thieves looked up and scarpered, the sight of the Cithan and his lacerating blade must have been too much for him. Unfortunately the other two looked up, losing Isthanae his hope of a surprise. ?What do you want?? grumbled one of the thieves, his friend mumbled the insult ?Eater of Snakes? at Isthanae. The first thief laughed his approvement. ?How about the release of the merchant and his money?? smile Isthanae as he casually played with his sword ?How about a dagger buried in you belly? Eh what you say t?that?? Isthanae really wanted it another way, but he was left no choice. As the thieves? leader lunged, Isthanae brought up his knee and kicked him in the face, unfortunate that this resulted in a broken neck. The remaining thief dropped the purse and the dagger before vanishing into the shadows. Isthanae helped the merchant up, ?Here are your belongings sir, but you must excuse me, I?m already very late.? Isthanae sheathed his un-tarnished blade and ran onto the sanctum, leaving the crumpled body of the thief with the merchant and the crowd that had gathered. ~~~~~~~~ The sanctum already had a small crowd gathered around, being entertained by the pompous talk of the Theothan, elected leader of the village. Isthanae slowed to a walk, glancing around the crowd to see if the other five were already there. But it was futile after all, how can you look for someone if you do not know their face?

OOC: Well here it is, its hard to hold back the emotion,. .I'm so proud! *cries* *cough* ____________ ?Isthanae! Where are you? You know that you are to leave for the Sanctum today! You better not be in bed when I get up there!? Isthanae?s mother called from downstairs. He winced again as she called out his name. Isthanae, what kind of name is that? Honestly, he had no idea what possessed his parent?s minds when they named him that. But he was always told that they had received the name suddenly, as though from a higher place, and they felt that the name was perfect for him. He sighed, really he preferred the nickname of his own devise, Ivan, but the elders and his parents laughed at it. It was a name that was unheard of, besides, it didn?t follow the traditions of the people. ?Coming mother!? Isthanae called downstairs, at the same time putting on his travel robes and armour, not that he did any travelling. He could never leave the village. .it was like magic or something. Isthanae snorted at the thought of it. As far as he was concerned, his parents had devised some crazy plot to keep him safe and under their watch. But that was going to change. Isthanae slid on his mithani gloves and tightened the straps on his silver breastplate. All of his items bore the image of a silver sun, noting his status as the Cithan over the city guards. Basically he ordered the lazy scum around, none new the basic art of magic or the blade, leaving him to fend off the occasional orc that dropped by. ?Isthanae! I mean it! Get down those stairs now!? his mother called out angrily from the bottom of the stairs. ?Better do as she says. .,? Isthanae smiled and sheathed his long sword. It was heavier than most, custom made by his own hands in his fathers smithy. The blade was jagged, straight and sharp like a normal blade of course. But it had teeth, the kind of teeth that could rip through an orcs hard leathery skin and go on to shear the bone. His hand bumped a silver chain off the bench, it clattered on the ground and the ring it was threaded through sang. Isthanae stopped to look at the silver ring. A year ago Isthanae was to be married to his beloved Lisa, both were deeply in love with each other and had a promising life before them. But it wasn?t to be. A week before the wedding, a formorian horde attacked the village. Formorians are like men, but evil and orcish in behaviour. Isthanae and the rest of the village defences were unable to protect the entire area. Many lost their lives, including the old Cithan, a dear friend of Isthanae?s. In the cleanup Isthanae found his beloved Lisa among the dead, raped and beaten by the Formorian horde. Such scars never heal, Isthanae has always had the cold silver ring in memory of his Lisa. Isthanae shook his head, balling his fists tightly, the memory of her defenceless giving him grief. Tighter and tighter he squeezed his fists, and opened his eyes in shock as the blood seeped from his palms. He closed his eyes and focused, letting the magic do its work. Both hands glowed golden and healed, Isthanae hung the silver chain around his neck and walked downstairs. ?It?s about time too! I wouldn?t be surprised if you got there and everyone had left!,? there was a hint of hope in her voice, ?Your father is down at the smithy waiting with your repaired shield, and I?ve added some healing herbs and ointments to your pack just in case.? Isthanae nodded and thanked his mother. He grabbed his pack, jogged out of the house and across to the smithy before running to the sanctum.

OOC: Saethi is 17 turning 18 :) Or else he wouldn?t be able to drive whoa been a while since I've posted here. .*reads other rpgs* holy crap. .shipwrecked is spammy. .oops. .O_O --------- Saethi looked at Summer and then back at the road again. He was silent for a while, pondering the situation he was in. After staring blankly out of the window, he turned to her and stated ?Might have known it was you, so what?s the magic trick you did to land me in this sodded mess?? Summer ignored him, focusing her attention on her driving, roughly changing the gears, the Volvo groaning in complaint. Saethi looked away, ?You know you?re crunching the gear- ?I know! Don?t forget who saved your butt back there!? ?I?m just saying ... it wouldn?t hurt to change gears properly, sheesh. . ,? Saethi continued mumbling, ?Honestly you would go a lot faster if you drove properly. .? Summer gritted her teeth, resisting the urge to jamb one of the stakes firmly in his chest. Sometimes you just don?t get the thanks you deserve

The year is 2050 The world has grown drunk on its own greed, superpowers constantly drain their countries for money for biological weapons. The once blue and green planet is now a mess of brown and grey. The people of the world have become like their leaders, thriving on others losses. Distraught and offended at the state of the world that they have protected for a millennia, the land spirits have withdrawn their protection. In effect, the world?s little sustenance has died, and with it the people on it. The orcs, formorians and other suppressed evils are free once more, destroying everything in their path. The year is 3030. . .but that is unknown. . The land spirits, pleased that the world is cleansed, wondering at the greenness that is earth again, have set up their protection again. But their is a problem. The monsters that were freed, will not return. The spirits try in vain, but nothing will help. Instead they focus on the new bud of human life, human life that knows not of the evils of ages past, human life that knows not of its ancient technology. The spirits join and bring magic back to their world, freeing more of the worlds mythological past. 3300 Human life has mastered the magic of the spirits, building a foothold against the age old bane of existence. But they are still harried by the now allied assault of the orcs and formorians, more is needed. The spirits, seeing this, still guilty of their mistakes, vote upon submitting six of their elect few to be born into the human world. Each will have their own select powerful magic, superior to that of the humans and of the orcs. 3320 The spirits have been born, and grown up to the ripe age of twenty. But in all great designs, there is a flaw. None has recollection of their arcane and powerful past. All they know is their magic is powerful, and that their are others in their city that are the same, uncannily all the same age. _____ The Quest You are one of the mighty six that live in the land of the humans. You have no recollection of your past, but you are filled with dreams of it in the night. The kings of the humans are planning for an attack on the orcs forts, behind enemy lines and onward to their infernal machine that gives them power over them. Strangely enough, the land spirits have been deified, at last giving them a proper link to the human race. They have also marked the six out from the population, who must alone take this quest. Each is marked with a special birth mark, bearing their afore chosen call of magic. These are the ones that must go. These are the ones that must save the shattered world ______ Name: Isthanae Age: 20 (as for all of us, no exceptions) Birthmark: (Life, Ground, Fire, Water, Air, Death)((There can be ones the same)) on his right shoulder blade is the mark of a sun, bearing his magic to be that of life Bio: (optional) Isthanae has grown up in his city all his life he has a strong desire to leave, but something always mysteriously prevents him from doing so. His parents own the local smithy and medical sanctum, helping him strengthen his magical and warrior wishes. He has already been selected and found by the oracles. I'll wait until there is atleast 8 people with their sign up submissions, I'll choose the ones that appear to be the best. .grammar and spelling is a major factor. Thankyou EDIT: Well its a tough decision, so many good sign ups placed so far. I have 5 in mind, but the sixth is the hard ball. .not to mention I have to type up the starting post for the rpg itself. I'll try to get this up and running tommorrow, please have patience for a melted mind. .:drunk:

Saethi walked along the pavement, keys jingling, from a distance he looked at ease, calm even. But behind the sunglasses was a nervous wreck. The whole ?blown up London, creepy police? thing was really starting to get to him, not to mention the movements in the shadows. He stopped and looked around, shadows darted into corners Saethi: I am really not liking thiiis. . Sound of something locking. .a crossbow? ???: get it! Figures rush out of the shadows bearing stakes, Saethi finds himself looking down the shaft of a nasty looking crossbow bolt, borne by a masked figure. Saethi fidgets, looking nervously around the black cloaked figures, most of them growled back at him. Saethi started to laugh, trying a dry imperious laugh, the group side glanced at one another. Saethi continued to laugh while turning around. .and stabbed the crossbow holder in the eye with the only weapon he had. .his car keys Saethi: *pulls his keys out of the bloody socket* urk. .*grabs the crossbow from the twitching figure* anyone else wanna piece of this? Figures: . . . *start war cries* AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! Saethi: . . .erk. .screw this *starts running*

Liam abruptly stands up and shoots at a nearby tree, Rex follows suit and Kool and Sere cover their ears Kool: WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'R DOING??? :flaming: Liam:. . .*sound of something heavy falling out of the tree* Rex could you get that please? Rex: *nods and wanders off* Liam:  Kool/Sere: . . . Rex: *comes back dragging a bleeding and battered camera man* I think we over did it. . Liam: erm. .yeah. . Kool: *slaps hand to forehead*

Car wrecks lined the streets, yet the shops were in perfect condition, albeit the need of a lick of paint. Saethi walked up the pavement, a prickling sensation on the back of his neck informed him that he was being watched. He spun round to see several shop windows have their blinds closed suddenly. He shivered. This place was really creeping him out. Maybe he was in a coma. .and this was all a dream. .no. Not likely, this was probably some twisted torment being played on him by Spyder, or one of her demonic friends. Saethi: damn her. . As he turned the corner, a police paddy-wagon screeched to a halt in front of him, Saethi stood immobile, shock rooting him to the spot. One of the doors opened in front of him and an officer stepped out, nightstick in hand. He swung it at Saethi, a gasp burst from his lips when the air was knocked from his lungs. Saethi doubled over, trying to regain his breath. The officer grabbed him by the hair and punched Saethi in the face. Saethi let out another gasp of surprise and fell to his knees seeing stars. Now he was really mad. Saethi stood and slammed the stunned officer across the face. The other officer got out of the van, looking in shock at Saethi?s now transformed face O2: we didn?t know. .so sorry. .it being daylight ?n all. .one of the elite that can suffer the pain of sunlight. . Saethi: *blinking blood out of his eyes* eh?. .er yeah. . The first officer stood up and bowed before climbing back into the wagon with his partner. They both drove off with the sirens blaring. Saethi stood, flabbergasted, his face changed back to its normal complexion. He wiped the blood from his nose and raised his sunglasses, now slightly bent Saethi: this place is seriously out of wack. .now where the hell is my car. .

Athen: *stops shooting* urk. .where the hell is everyone. . Athen looks around rubbing sweat out of his eyes. The gun slipped slightly as he fired a few more rounds at a shadow moving towards him, he sighed and dried it off, panting heavily. He lifted up his shirt and looked at his stomach. .it was gone. .bare bones with nothing but rotting putrid flesh. Wrapped around his spinal cord was a black and purple thing. .Athen cried out and fainted. The shadows came and picked him up, loading him into one of the vans

OOC: good to know you have fans [regalvoice] you may kiss the royal pinkie[/regalvoice] ____________ Saethi: *looks her up and down* I think not. .after seeing my friends, . . .well after seeing my companions reaction to you, I?m going to steer clear of you. Besides, my world is screwed up enough as it is thankyou very much Music blared from all around while lights flicked on and off with the beat, already someone had been carted away suffering an epileptic fit. The alcohol fumes, cigarette smoke and noise was giving Saethi a migraine and a half. He winced and rubbed his head before taking another glass of water. The volume kicked up a notch with a new song, dance track with heavy bass. Saethi winced some more and left the club, ignoring Mazine at the door. Saethi: ow. .never much cared for clubs anyway. . Saethi wandered down the sidewalk and opened up the car. He sat and reached to turn the ignition, then with keys poised, he sighed and leant back Saethi: who am I kidding. .I have no place here. .*pulls at shirt* I?m no skeg. .nor am I a Goth. . this world is screwed for me. .and already my few ties have been cut. . .*laughs* god now I?m going insane. .talking to myself *notices a couple looking at him strangely* . . .*pulls a face* BLEEEEAGH! *laughs* heh. .ah well might as well head home. . Saethi reaches again to start the engine, but just before the engine turns over, the car is filled with blue sparks, illuminating the street and sending a pillar of blue light to the car. The light fades and the car is empty, locked and the engine gently purring. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Saethi looks around in surprise at the absence of his car that was insulating him from the world. He pocketed his keys and murmured a surprised ?The hell is going on. .? before looking around the dilapidated street. It seemed something had taken him 7 years into the future _________________

Saethi: *notices a new club opening* cool Saethi parks and walks into the club, not noticing a police car and ambulance drive past and to the aid of a rather charred barmaid. The club was bright and full, laser lights were filling the room, making a bit too bright for Saethi?s liking, but he pushed up his sunglasses and sat in the only shadowed corner Saethi: good to be out again. . Saethi sat back and soaked up the atmosphere, enjoying every minute of it, and forgetting the weeks events

Liam:I seriously do not like this place. . .*looks around* making me claustrophobic. . Pi ignored him and continued to watch what the figures were doing. Liam sighed and watched also, but not until after he made sure his guns were cocked

Saethi jingles a set of keys in his hand while the elevator sank down to the garage in the basement. Finally the doors slid open and the darkened garage was revealed. After fumbling with the switches, Saethi managed to have all the cars illuminated, there seemed to be a lot more then the supposed five cars Luke told him about. While striding up and down the parked cars, he came across a covered one, intrigued Saethi pulled off the cover and revealed Saethi: an STI. .but. .*notices a set of keys stuck to the door* this is interesting. . Saethi unlocked the door and slid in, finding a silver card stuck to the steering wheel. He opened it and read; ?Saethi, well if you found this by yourself, you?re a lot more nosy than I thought, sheesh, guess what? You just ruined your birthday gift, ha!, Saethi smiled at this while wiping a tear. Anyhow happy birthday and all that, I dare say that this is a bit, no, a helluva lot higher up than your bike. Before you start saying you don?t like celebrating birthdays, and this is more than I should have given you, I took the privilege of buying myself one. So there, you have to keep it now! Ha! hows that now? Guess who?s the smart one now? Anyway, lots of luck, Luke? Saethi(wipes his face dry): damn you Luke. .always coming back to haunt me. .when I die, if I go where you are. . . remind me to kick your *** *starts the engine* lets test this out now. . Saethi flicked on the lights and eased the accelerator, pressing the brake in shock when the car leapt forward, narrowly missing a parked Bentley Saethi: *looks at the dash* twin turbo. .ah. .should prolly keep that in mind next time. .heh. . Saethi drives out the garage and out onto the street, sliding his sunglasses up at the last fading rays of the sun. He smiled and looked in the mirror, a genuinely happy face looked back Saethi: that colourful enough for you Luke? . . .I am never going to live this down. .white cargo pants? orange shirt? haven?t worn white since birthday before last. .when all this went wrong. .ah well ?spose it matches the hair better. .:demon: Saethi continued to ramble while driving into town, now getting busier with the clubs opening and the night parties starting

Sikes: *running with the others* that car is as old as time, don't worry 'bout it, at the rate he's going in 3. . .2. . .1 boom A loud backfire sound comes from down the street in the direction of Dr John's vehicle. Sikes gives a 'I told you so' smirk to Baz before sprinting down the street while unholstering his guns

*sighs and shakes head* I can't believe I told you people about otaku...no need for day time tv. .just need to follow your spoor *laughs* ____ I really haven't had any love interests at all, quite funny actually, sure you get a few crushes. .*stops and starts whistling innocently*

?You shouldn?t have shot him so many times, we?ll be lucky if he survives, along with our jobs? Car sounds. .must be in the city ?I had my orders, if said subject shows any type of resistance or lethal aggression, lethal force is to be used,? the voice grunted and clicked on the indicator as he turned the corner. ?My point is, he didn?t show any signs of lethal intent, he just turned around? ?Just shut up, the hospital is in sight now,? there were sounds of movement, ?God, he looks disgusting, lost way too much blood, he might not make it? More sounds of movement and the sound of the engine cut out, sounds of footsteps and the door opening. ?Holy sh*t, you CID guys certainly rough ?em up don?t you?? ?Nurses are to be seen and not heard, get him inside for a transfusion? ?Right away CID man, yessir? Blurry vision, lights flashing past ... a masked face looks down ?You?ll be alright son, we?ll get you into OR and you?ll be up and around in no time? Dry cracked lips peel open, so painful to talk, ?Get ... away ... from me!? The pain, then nothing ... images blank out of focus, standing, then running blood everywhere, all a blur ... The elevator. .Luke?s penthouse...then her...out of focus, the corpse, and now the screaming. . Saethi woke with a start, breathing heavily. Water continued to rain down on him, room full of steam. He shivered despite the heat and turned off the shower before drying himself off. He wandered into his room, pulling out clothes to get changed. He sighed and spoke in a quiet voice, ?My world is screwed?

Saethi sat staring at the wall, numerous empty softdrink bottles lying around him. His mind raced over what to do, the situation seemed so bleak to him. The police were already searching for him, his millionaire friend was nothing but a corpse, not to mention the many befuddling social problems that were going on this minute Saethi: What to do what to do. .*runs a hand through his hair* one central problem and cause of this stupid situation. Me. . Saethi stood, walked over and out to the balcony. The wind whistled past and through his hair as he stood, staring blankly down the thirty storey drop. He put one foot out, hanging out over the edge, and instantly bringing it back again Saethi: *collapses back onto a patio chair* I can?t do it. .too much of a coward. . He sighed and did the first thing he thought of, take a looooong shower while silent tears ran down his cheeks, mixing with the water

The helicopter gently landed in a clearing beside the road, no-one was about, giving perfect cover for the copter. One of the pilots nudged both Jessie and Liam out onto the road before it took off again Liam: curses. .*unholsters eagle* screw you Liam cocks the eagle and takes careful aim, but as he pulls the trigger, Jessie knocks the gun causing the bullet to fly off taget Liam: why the hell did you do that?? :flaming: Jessie: you heard them, they've got mum and dad. . Liam: . . . fine. .you're right, again. . Liam starts walking up the street, holstering his gun Liam: c-mon, lets get going, the house is about 10 minutes from here. . Jessie: I didn't say give up all together! God, you get over-reactive sometimes, so you just want to go home and live your life like nothing happened? Let the bad guys win? Whatever happened to the bro I knew? Liam: *stops* you know, all I said was lets go home. We're tired, hungry, and I need to heal. Jessie: and what are we going to do then? Go back to school in the morning Liam: nope. Home is where the heart is. .not to mention the massive armoury and transport

All of you have marvellously interesting points to make, and I have a quote from a Anzac?s diary to place, as well as more food for thought. ?One thought uppermost in my mind as I sit here is that I will not be found wanting, shall not find myself a coward? That quote was from a certain 32 year old farmer from the 14th Artillery Brigade by the name of C.B. Giffin. Few of the 60 000 Anzacs who came to Gallipoli did not have similar thoughts before they stepped onto that deadly place which was to claim 11 400 Australian and New Zealand lives. They should not have worried. They were all mates and they would stick together even if it meant dying together.

Saethi: my part? *drinks some more* that would be bewildered bloodbag *sticks out hand for Cathos* pleased to meet you Cathos: question. .if you?re vampyric- Saethi(cuts him off): -why can you drink and eat mortal food. Simple, I?m only half, and that?s the half that got me into this sodded mess, now, if you will excuse me, I have a funeral to plan and a lot of self reflectance to do Saethi stands and ushers Cathos out and to the elevator. While the doors close, he waves and walks back into the living room, dropping back onto the couch and sinking into depression

The group had been travelling for a while now. .nigh on two hours. The stopped for a break, pleased for the distance that they had come. Athen sat to the side and checked the bandages, now thoroughly soaked with blood once more. He cursed and peeled them back, to reveal rotting flesh, something squirmed out of the light. Athen retched, something was in there. .eating away at him. .it must have a natural anaesthetic in its poison to stop him from knowing Athen: . . . Spyder: *looks around* do you hear something? sounds familiar. .but hard to recognise. . Rico: *looks around* engines. .sounds like 4WD's two of them. .who's following us? I thought lightbearers abolished vehicles. .except- Harlequin: in extreme cases. They're on the hunt for heretics. .

Now this is one thing that came over me, not to mention the current event of the last Anzac passing away, among numerous other reasons. Moving onto the point, I?ve decided to post up sections of the Anzac legend, mainly ones that interested me and caught my eye, that I hope you might find appealing also. I have added my own words among the excerpts from texts that have been given to me. -------- [ ?To feel the concentrated pull of the Anzac spirit you must go there. Walk the beaches and the hills and pause a while at the little cemeteries to read the names and the achingly young ages and say a prayer for lifetimes lost?] Australia was a relatively young country when the call to war reached it, fourteen years old since federation, and eager to prove itself to the larger countries already rallied for the battle that lay ahead. ?News cabled on 5 August that Britain, and therefore the Empire, was at war with Germany immediately impacted on that post-colonial generation of Australian men and their families. They responded in patriotic droves. In the cities long queues of young men eager to sign up formed outside recruiting centres. Country boys marched together down dusty roads, some walked isolated tracks alone, some rode horses. All had a single purpose: to volunteer to serve their country at war, which too often would mean to volunteer their lives.? Ages ranged from 18 to 45, and the youngest, the 14 year olds that faked their age to fight and die for their country. Fourteen years of age. Such a sacrifice, a decision to travel to a country unheard of, to fight in disease ridden conditions where death stalked in every corner. Those boys were our age, if not, younger. To think, would you be able to make that decision? Would you, no pressure what so ever, go out of your way, forge your age and join the army? I think not 417 000 Australians enlisted in the army that year. Australia?s population was five and a half million at that time. New Zealand?s was only one million, and they gave 100 000 of their finest, a staggering 10% of their population. At 4.29 am on Sunday 25 April 1915, Queenslanders of the 9th Battalion landed in front of the foreboding black cliffs. They had landed in the wrong place, the current taking them further up the coast than planned. Two kilometres away, the planned landing area, was a flat stretch of coast, relatively safe compared to the soon to be blood soaked cliffs of Ari Burnu. As the landing boats continued to pile up on the beach, confused officers tried to make sense of the useless maps. The only choice they had was to make camp and ready themselves for the mad charge that would cost many their lives. One account of one of the suicidal charges: ?I can remember wading to the coarse land and stepping over dead men as I raced to the cliff face. Everyone was rushing madly up the cliffs. Rifles were snapping; shells were bursting; in front of bayonets were glistening in the half light; and behind us was the roar of the ships.? ********** Well that?s it so far. .I?ll try to put more up for your interest, feel free to make comments. .after all, this is in general discussion. .
