I really like Cowboy Bebop, Spike Spiegel has some very interesting adventures, and some of the cool gothic scenes made me think of another favourite character Fox Mulder from a tv series The X Files. Maybe some day I will write a crossover fanfic for the two series. This pic titled 'A Caller' was created as an illustration for a gothic poem I wrote. I would love to see the X Files as an anime, anyone else agree :-) Mairéad

The music vid I made for Bebop is very brief, just wanted to deal with the final scenes of session 26. Well said M. The thing is though the anti Yaoi don't know what they are missing when they don't read/watch the better Yaoi Manga/anime. They are not all about sex indeed as I have said it is very discreet and rarely ever explicit. If they think that all Yaoi is Hentai [soft-porn] then they are very much mistaken. I am straight and I really like Yaoi because of the excellent stories and artwork. Emotions are explored more than sexuality but in the better Yaoi series like 'Yami No Matsuei' never at the expense of the drama. It is sad that people can be so outspoken and judgemental against something they have never watched or haven't given much of a chance. The anti gay sentiment is coming through which is even more sad. Being gay is normal just as being straight is normal, it has always been with us and will always remain with us as long as humankind exists. So lets just ease up and enjoy the brilliant anime and manga out there :-) Tsuzuki

I wasn't recommending them I have no relationship with any distributors nor do i sell them myself. Anime titles and characters have been mentioned in practically every message in this thread as have the main points I raised. Hi I am new here and have been reading this thread with some interest. My faourite anime is Yami No Matsuei. I find the artwoek and storylines to be phenomenal. None of the others I have seen, and I have seen a lot, come near to it. [Cowboy Bebop is my second favourite ;-) ] It is a yaoi anime. Yaoi for the most part tends to be very mild with nothing explicit usually shown. It can also be ambiguous for exaple Tsuzuki in YNM has also been seen to have feelings for women. he never fully reveals his feelings for men although there is some male bonding through work relations. If we look at the origins of yaoi. it was written by women for women to explore men's emotions. Living in a country where in comparison to some western countries women are still rather repressed. This may be changing. The yaoi stories show men displaying their feeling of vulnerability, sadness, love, and so on. It was not written originally to explore homosexuality although in a lot anime's today this is incresingly done so. There is nothing wrong with homosexuality it is just as normal as heterosexuality and it is good that the anime's at least can acknowledge this. Although Will and Grace is a good programme too :-) I do not like lemon/lime because of the age thing, I think it can be dangerous. Tsuzuki
