TOKYO, Oct 7 (Reuters) - Sony Corp said on Tuesday it would begin selling the "PSX," an all-in-one game console and entertainment system, in Japan by the year-end, in a bid to boost its sagging electronics sales. Sony, the world's largest consumer electronics maker, said the PSX would feature a satellite TV tuner, DVD recorder, hard disk drive (HDD) recorder and PlayStation 2 (PS2) game player. A version with a 160-gigabyte HDD would sell for 79,800 yen ($719) and be able to record up to 204 hours of television, the company said. It would also sell a 250-gigabyte version for 99,800 yen $899. Chief Executive Nobuyuki Idei said in May that one of the growth strategies for Sony's electronics business would be to integrate it with the company's profit-making games division.
Although it is just an add on to Semjaza's earlier statement about the PSX, I think it was still worth a post. From what I've heard Sony is seeing how much people will actually pay for a gaming system packed with a load of electronics. So they know exactly what to price the PS3 at.

I'd probably want to be Semjaza, just so I could could take all of this stuff. If I was him for a while I wouldn't being spending my time on the boards anyway, I'd walk around Chicago. Other than that I'm happy being me. I don't care about posts/status/moderator positions, I just like being able to express my opinion and meet people. *walks away*

Unfortunately, the Shinobi spin-off Kunoichi will be renamed "Nightshade" here in America. :\ It isn't as bad as it could be, but I'm not too exited about that.
Sega recently gave us a chance to take a look at the movie it will be showing of Kunoichi at E3, and it also gave us some general background details on the game. The game will be a Shinobi spin-off and not a sequel, as was previously suspected. As such, it won't really have anything to do with the Shinobi storyline, but it will have similar gameplay mechanics, many of which have been improved. For example, you will be able to perform an unlimited number of tates in addition to Kunoichi's regular attacks. The development team also plans to make this game a little bit easier after receiving complaints about the difficulty of Shinobi.
No complaints here. I was in love with Shinobi for the PS2, and this sonds like it'll be even better. I can't really say much, since most of the information released so far is sitting in that quote. Well, except for the Chakra Gauge which will enable Kunoichi to use magical abilities and that some envirements will have trains/jets. They both sound pretty cool, but could go either way. I recently borrowed three dubbed DVDs of this series from a friend of mine. Four episodes to a disk, so that means that there were 12 episodes. I loved it so much I had to start a thread on it. ^-^ Full Metal Panic is the story of Souske Sagara, a teenage agent of ?Mithril?. Mithril is an anti-terrorist organization; they mainly deal with drug busts and kidnappings. In the first episode Souske and two colleagues of his ( Kurz and Mao ) are assigned to watch over a girl named Kaname Chidori. She is smart, vice president of the student council, class representative, and has incredible athletic ability. Souske, however, cannot get used to the regular high school life, and antics ensue. This anime is one of the few that actually manages to balance action and comedy, but still carry out a decent story line. I can?t wait to see more of the series, but the fourth DVD has yet to be released, but my friend already has money to buy it. :p I can?t wait, anyone else? ^__^

I've heard some horrible things about Hunter, and all the games intertwined with the series. [ From what I've heard ] It's just a random hack and slash game, with no special traits. I honestly can't say that I want to buy this. But I did hear it made for a good rent if people were coming over. :\ It just so happens people are coming over on Saturday....so I'll probably rent it, since you are giving it such praise.

Well, I needed somewhere to post really badly. So here is my desktop. As you can see I'm talking to some people, but I edited their names out because...I just did. =P Maybe they don't want it to be known they associate with a loser like me. *cries* Anyway...here it is. Heh. I occasionaly sing in the shower. But I usually have a CD on...so it blends in. Usually for the shower I put in something mellow. Like Radiohead or something...although I don't really care for them, it kinda soothes me in the shower. Yes...I'm strange.
Originally posted by Queen Asuka Hey, Meteora, you're better off without them.
Why is he better off without them? He is friends with them already, and just because they don't want to be more than friends means he should disown them or something? If your best friend (girl or guy) said they were attracted to you, and you didn't feel the same way, and they didn't talk to you anymore. Are you better off without them? If certain girls don't like you, there isn't anything you are going to be able to do to change that. Just keep looking untill you find the girl that's right for you.

Heh, suprisingly enough I've heard of them. A few weeks ago my friend insisted I download some of their songs because (in his words). "They OWN AFI" So I downloaded Seven Years, Translating the Name, and Lost Symphonies. Well, they don't own AFI as I was told. But it was a nice suprise that they rocked. :) The guys voice is just a tad annoying, but really, most punk singers...can't sing. :p Even though I'm a fan of the genre, I really can't stand their voices. They are good enough to grant an album buy though. I'll probably buy it tommorow when I go to the record store, and check back up on this topic.

I just need to come in here to say, if you are checking out Slipknot. The best stuff is their OLD stuff from Mate.Feed.Kill.Repeat. It's so much better than anything else they've done. Do Nothing/Bitchslap Dogfish Rising Those are my 2 favorites currently. Other than that, most of the good stuff has been mentioned. *walks away*

Writing Ultimates (Pseudo-Official Comics in General Thread!)
I, Colossus replied to Semjaza's topic in Creative Works
Heh. I bought 4 comics last Wednesday. Not all of them were exactly new but they looked pretty cool. Ultimate Six #1: I loved this comic, there wasn't much action (which is what I usually go for) but I liked it just the same. Something I didn't know is that Nick Fury is black in the Ultimate line...that confused me for a minute when I saw him. But overall it looks like it's a series that I'll be following. LONDON #1 - From Vertigo's POP line: I loved it. It's about a washed up rock star who keeps talking about the best night of his life. The night he and his band blew the Rolling Stones off the stage. Good stuff...if your into that type of...stuff. =P G.I. Joe vs. Transformers #1: It sucked. But I'm a sucker for 80's properties. Wolverine: Snikt #3: Heh, it was interesting enough. I'm going to wait for a TPB though. --- I ordered Superman/Batman #1 and #2, AND Street Fighter #1 off of www.midtowncomics.com So I should be able to comment on those soon. I can't wait for Street Fighter. ^___^ -
Gaming Killzone - Dubbed a "Halo Killer" (56kers be careful)
Originally posted by Semjaza Azazel I don't know. What I've read and seen about it over the last few months makes it sound like it's geared for mulitplayer and not singleplayer... which kills some of my interest already.
Yes, that was my main de-turn when reading articles about this game. Everything else looks simply stunning though. I'd never heard the Jin-Roh comparison, so I looked up some shots on google. That is a pretty big rip off, but in all honesty I'd rather have them rip off something cool than create something stupid. Killzone - Jin-Roh - Now I need to check out Jin-Roh. =P -
Originally posted by Semjaza Azazel I saw some trailer they played before Underworld, which was a bit odd. It was presented in a commercial format (for Umbrella's weird DNA cosmetics). Reminded me of Robocop, which isn't a bad thing.
Yes, the trailer I linked to is that one. It is quite strange, the first time I saw it, I thought it was a comercial before the trailer. It looked like one of those, "Are you feeling depressed? Can't sleep?" comercials. =P
Originally posted by Gohan Egret
CARLOS OLIVIERA - RE3 - A part of Umbrella's tactical force, not STARS

Yeah...RE3 is my favorite in the series. That ruins it a little for me, since they aren't being as true to the game as they should be. But it's no huge thing. I'll let it slide. :D

Gaming Killzone - Dubbed a "Halo Killer" (56kers be careful)
I, Colossus posted a topic in Noosphere
A while back (a few months) the SCEA announced "Killzone" (originally code named "Kin"), which was soon after dubbed a "Halo Killer". The "Halo Killer" news is good to me, since I loved Halo, but I doubt I'll ever buy an X-box. So far it's looking quite nice, though the story is a bit cliche. In the (near) future, the human race is trying to colonize the galaxy. But it doesn't go to well when a war breaks out between Helghast and the ISA. You play as agent of the ISA, so far 26 levels have been confirmed. It will be a squad-based game, which is a little differen't for console shooters. I'm pretty exited about it, and any self respecting PS2 owner/FPS should too. In case some of you don't know, RE: APOCALYPSE is the sequel to the original RE film. Most people found the original RE to be a big dissapointment, but I think it was a big step for game-movies. I've been awaiting this film for a long time, mainly because
they hinted at Nemesis being in the next film.
It's set to release sometime next year. Trailer - http://www.sonypictures.com/previews/player/player_PR1034601.html I can't wait, how about you. :cross:

I could rant and ramble for hours and I think I just might do that. I can't just place one cartoon ahead of another, it's impposible for me. I've been such a cartoon freak since I was a child...there are just so many shows I've seen and loved. Shows of yester-year Transformers: Not that Armada crap, the old, much better, stuff. I got into Transformers only 5 or 6 years ago. Rather than grow up with them...I found out late and wished I grew up with them. My friend brought the movie over and I fell in love. I now own the movie and the first season. The movie, is probably my favorite cartoon movie of all time (Up there with Batman: Mask of the Phantasm).
Did you really expect the main character (in a kids show no less) to die at the beggining of the movie? That was pure genius. Rivals Spike's death in Cowboy Bebop.
The best part of the movie has got to be when
Starscream has taken Megatron's place and he comes back as Galvatron (I think). Starscream: Is that you Megatron? Galvatron: Here's a hint. *turns into a cannon and kills him*
Classic stuff. G.I. Joe: There isn't much to say here, on account most people know about G.I. Joe. The movie was also a strike of brillance. TMNT: When I was younger...I was a Ninja Turtle. You can ask anyone who randomly saw me around that age (2 - 5/6). I was insanely obbsessed. Now that I look back on it, it seriously scares me. I talked about TMNT, I played with their toys, watched their tapes, EVERYTHING. I can still recite the theme song by heart. And probably some of the episodes too. :\ A few weeks ago my family and I watched some old family videos, for my third birthday I only recieved one item that wasn't TMNT related. I nicely tossed it over my shoulder and played my new TMNT crap. I know I'm being repetetive and annoying...but that is how much I loved the damn turtles. Batman Animated Series: This was pretty much airing all throughout my Elementary school years. I strangely can't remember if it came on afterschool or on Saturday mornings. But it was a wonderful show. It owns Batman Beyond on more levels than most people will ever know. Spiderman Animated Series: Best. Comic. Cartoon. Ever. I still watch this...I have a few tapes and discs lying around. I finally finished the series about a month ago. It was a truly wonderful ending. *sigh*
In the end there are several differen't dimensions and Peter Parker (aka Spidey) visits our dimension and meets Stan Lee. I thought that was pretty cool.
I would type about the X-men show but I honestly don't remember much. Newer Cartoons: Clone High: Oh man, I'm in love with this series. I can't believe they stopped showing it on MTV for whatever reason. Great comedy, Ghandi is personally my favorite. Daria: This show is amazing. Daria is an un-popular "brain" stuck at a school full of idiots, in a town full of idiots. She does have one friend named Jane, they make fun off all the dimwits and whatnot. It's great humor. However I don't like the little time period when
Jane starts dating Tom, and then Tom likes Daria. It's a bit to boring and cliche for a good show like Daria.
The two movies are great as well. ATHF: Not a huge fan. But episode 8 "The Mooninite's Revenge" is the funniest thing they have ever aired on CN. Family Guy: Seth McFarlene in a genius. If anyone here has seen his student film "Life of Larry" you know what I'm talking about. His jokes are hilarious Edit: Finished it

Not sure what to say other than that was very entertaining. :p That's why I'm not working as anything where I have to deal with people up close and personal. Well...any first job you would have to have some contact, but I'd like as little as possible.

I, being a pretty big GI Joe fan myself can't wait for this. It's a new CG, 44 minute, movie that will air on Cartoon Network on September 27 (6 Days away ^_^). When it's released the DVD will only be part of the "Ninja Showdown 2-Pack". In the pack the DVD comes with two 12" Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow action figures. So if you aren't an action figure fan, wait to see if the DVD will release alone. Anyway, the whole "Ninja Showdown 2-Pack" is only going to be $19.99, so you have no reason to not buy it. http://www.hasbro.com/gijoe/spytroops/pl/page.movie/dn/default.cfm In the above link you can download both a music video or the trailer. Below are the movie poster and the two action figures. :D "Be a man HULK, cmon don't be scurd your runnin' from Macho that's what I heard. Be a man HULK, cmon don't be a chump, I never though HULK would go out like a punk." Be a man has to be the best rap song in all history. One old, high class wrestler, dissing an old, low class wrestler. I wonder if Hogan's old rock band will come out with a rebuttle. There isn't really much to say on the subject...but this song deserves to be well known.

2nd best platoformer of all time. (SMB3 holds the #1 spot) The Crash series on the PSX (or one...bleh) was the first game I owned. As in, it was mine, the whole thing. The Playstation, the game, everything. I was in LOVE with this game, and I still am. It is truly one of the greatest PSX games around. However...anything associated with Crash that isn't on the PSX is utter trash. Some other developer took over (or bought) the series. Naughty Dog has made some pretty good games since (Jak and Daxter, ect.) but Crash 1 is still their best game. (Note: Crash Bash was crap as well)

Man, that presentation on his life on VH1 followed by the "Hurt" video was tear jerking. I personally didn't cry, but I wanted too. Johnny Cash is the original bad *** who wasn't afraid to push the limits. He will be sorely missed. RIP

*rejoices* This is awesome man. Once I play 4/5/6 I will have played every Megaman game in existence. Sucks that Megaman Soccer won't be included.
Originally posted by Hataki Vash Definatley Super Smash Bros. Melee. It was the same as the first one, with better graphics and that was it. It pretty much copied the first one for 64 and then added some new characters, items, and bonuses. They should have actually put a story line in this one so that you could actually be able to follow something. Thats my most overrated game.
... I know it's your opinion, and I'm not attacking you for having it. But there were MANY differences from the original SSB and Melee. There are the Event Matches, The Homerun thing, all the trophies. They stuck so much crap in the game my friend (who has had it since Febuary 2002) has yet to get every trophy. Also, there isn't really supposed to be a story, it's just something meant for some fun multiplayer action. Like Mario Kart/Golf ect. As for games I think are over-rated, I'd have to go with Silent Hill 2. I know like...millions of people will disagree, but it just wasn't enjoyable for me. I'd take REII over it anyday.
