...Then get back to me in about a million years when I have enough money for that...*sigh*

Well, I finally got around to watching it, and here's what I have to say: I am never watching it again. Not if it was the last show on earth. Mostly, it's the little Super Deformed Gundams. They look like Legos. And their voices. The voices don't match the things at all. And has anyone else noticed that the lip-syncing couldn't possibly be more off? And the colors, and the humans (let's not even START on how they look), and the fighting...the fighting is pathetic. Oh GODS the fighting is pathetic. And...I'll stop before this turns into a rant.

Yeah, that about sums it up. To me the Buu Saga seemed like this: there's an enemy who wants to destroy/take over the universe. The good guys fight him. They realize the enemy is impossible to fight. They train. They fight him again. Same thing. They train. Buu kills most of the good guys. The remaining good guys fight. They get their butts kicked. (Etc., etc.) And finally, they come up with an idea that has been effective in the past, they try it, it works. Just like that. And it gives them a good moral. ("If everyone works together, great evil can be defeated" or something.) But I just thought it was ridiculous. So they had a really, really big energy blast. OK. Shouldn't Buu have just regenerated again? I mean, supposedly he can regenerate no matter HOW many pieces he gets blown into. So...why did the Spirit Bomb work? It seems like a lot of build-up, then they got bored and came up with a more or less plausible way to cut it off.
Originally posted by Hittokiri Zero ...it just takes the Rurouni Kenshin ending one step further than even the manga did x_X.
OK, I was following you right up until then. Then you lost me. I get the part about showing Kenshin and Kaoru's relationship in a new way, but how does animating only part of a perfectly good manga arc take the anime further than animating the WHOLE arc? *is completely lost*

Actually, Sora's at a pretty high level, right? Maybe most of the monsters are too easy for him. Or boring---it's pretty easy to predict what monsters will do. With people, not so easy. I can see why he kills other PCs, but I don't get why he has to kill BT all the time. -_________________-

Zechs? Nnnnnnnn...I guess he had his moments. He WAS fighting the pilots at the end, and he shot the huge cannon (I forget the name  ) at Earth at the end. So he actually probably beats out Treize as a bad guy. ((I will get off the Aoshi thing after this, I promise, but I don't think beating up Okina was very evil. I have been tempted to beat him up many, many times. He bugs me. And he woke up and everything was OK, so how is that a sign of evilness?))

OK, the Jinchuu Arc was kind of LONG, and you're telling me they condensed it down to 20 minutes worth?!? Pathetic. Truly pathetic. And I bet they left out all the parts with Aoshi, didn't they. -_________________- Aoshi is my favorite character from any anime, and they can't even be bothered to show all the parts when he was a good guy... Oh, I heard Samurai X was better than the rest of the series. A LOT of people have told me that. Which is why I will be buying it, next time I have any money. If for no other reason than to see Tomoe.

Whatever do you mean, they cuss PLENTY in the dubbed version. Sano, mostly, but Kenshin said the d-word once...that was kind of OOC... As far as the Arcs go, that's the different parts of the manga. So I don't know what the first one was called, but then there was the Kyoto Arc, then the Memory Arc (this is basically a really LONG flashback to the Revolution), then the Jinchuu Arc. And for the anime, there are 3 parts: Wandering Samurai, Legends of Kyoto, and Tales of the Meiji. I'm not sure of the episode number when Wandering Samurai ends, but Legends of Kyoto basically started when Saitou showed up for the first time. Then Legends of Kyoto lasts until episode #62, then it's Tales of the Meiji until the end. But Tales of the Meiji is basically filler for the Jinchuu Arc, because it was never animated. -____________________- I think Samurai X (the OVA) is the animated version of the Memory Arc, somebody please tell me if I'm right, because I haven't seen it.

Hmm...tough one...it would be a tie between Aoshi (Rurouni Kenshin), Hiei (Yu Yu Hakusho), and Spike (Cowboy Bebop). Aoshi: aside from the fact that I just love him, I really like the fact that he uses two swords, and that they're shorter than normal and not usually used for offense. It's more original than most of the other characters on RK, and the fact that kodachi are usually used for defense can make people underestimate him. And, most importantly, he kicks butt with them. Hiei: because I love all of his attacks. Every one. After seeing the Dragon of the Darkness Flame for the first time I just loved him. Plus, once he starts fighting he doesn't screw around, he just kills whoever he's fighting (or tries to, anyway) and gets it over with. Quick and to the point. Spike: I admire Spike's ability with a gun. (And with a grenade or flamethrower on occasion  ) And even without it, he can fight several people at once and usually win, though he does tend to get beat up during the process. Also, I would think a close-range fight against someone using a sword while you're using a gun would be pretty hard, but Spike wins against Vicious. And while this has nothing to do with Spike as a fighter, I enjoyed the part in Toys in the Attic (Session #11?) where he tried to light a cigarette with the flamethrower. (Hint: it didn't work :D )

I don't tape stuff unless I won't be able to just watch it. So sue me. (Actually, please don't, it's just an expression.)

Ah. Right. I see now. I totally forgot about that. It REALLY hasn't been on in a while...

I like Kikyo's personality just fine. I mean, what's wrong with it? *looks around for a Kikyo-hater so that they can explain* I don't know why he's called that, but enough of my friends call him that that it stuck...so now I call him that. I think part of it is that Sesshomaru is really long, and Fluffy is a lot shorter. But I really don't know. I think I saw a fanfic somewhere that explained why, but the site was down...
Originally posted by Syk3 The anime has been very enjoyable so far; not my favorite, but good nonetheless. They've come up with some really good plotlines, when almost every episode is a new scenario, and it just amazes me to think that they could draw it all the way out to 95 episodes with so much detail in each episode. Some of the characters do look a bit similar at times, but that is to be expected, and it doesn't happen that often.
Yeah, the series is great. Though, from what I've heard about Tales of the Meiji (the 3rd part, after Shishio is defeated) it isn't very good. Personally I like the Jinchuu Arc a lot, but that's only in the manga, and of course the manga hasn't been released in English. So the only way to know about that is to read somebody's manga translation online. -_____________-
Originally posted by Aoshi Shinimori But you have to admit that the animation is extremely well. I think the story line is terrific and the fact there is another girl that likes the main character.
Yeah, the animation was pretty good. Wing's animation was good, too, though, so it's not a unique thing. (Not trying to diminish 8th MS Team there.)
Originally posted by Aoshi Shinimori I think the story line is terrific and the fact there is another girl that likes the main character.
? OK, this hasn't been on CN in a really long time, so maybe I'm just missing something, but what does the part about another girl liking Shiro mean?
Originally posted by AzureWolf He did lighten when Mimiru was talking to him, but that's not enough for me to change my view. He's just not amiable, you know? I think the .hack dictionary has a picture of Silver Knight - under the word "LOSER" (written just like that, with the caps and bold).
I completely agree. The guy got better as the series went along, but he still bugs me to death. And I did think that conversation was kind of funny, just because Silver Knight is capable of joking occasionally doesn't mean he's not annoying the rest of the time.

Gods, people, lay off the woman! Geez! Sora's more annoying than BT will ever be, and I happen to like her, so cut it out!

I mostly don't like any Gundam Series other than Wing, but this one was OK. My main complaint is this: my first comment upon seeing it was, "It's the Gundam version of Romeo and Juliet!" That was just kind of pathetic to me. But other than that I liked it. Though I'm with Black_Phoenix. The mass-produced Gundams thing just isn't right. The point in all of the other series' was that the Gundams are really special and unique mobile suits, and then we get to 8th MS Team and they're just your average MS. I didn't like that very much.
Originally posted by Aoshi Shinimori Sorry Miss DVL its just that I have my own opinion about BT. Any way thats what I thought when I saw that episode. Plus I was new to the anime .hack//SIGN sorry...
"Miss"? Uh...yeah...don't do that... And you're allowed to have your own opinion. I'm just saying to have some respect for those of us that DO like her and stop insulting her so much. You don't like her. I get it. And you aren't the only one I was talking to, anyway. And actually I was asking how you inferred that from the episode because I was curious. I wasn't saying there was anything wrong with it.

I think most people don't like Kikyo because of her personality. A lot of people don't like it...but she's better than Kagome, easily. I love Fluffy-sama! (Sesshomaru) Though, why is he called Fluffy? I have never figured this out...
Originally posted by WW2 Its best to have all the episodes up to the final battle with Shishio, mainly because the saga's after that one, aren't too good. They were mostly filler episodes, and anime only storylines, not covered in the manga. And, even worse, Saito doesn't appear in any of them.
Saito's not in ANY of the Tales of the Meiji episodes?!? Good GRIEF. Curse whoever decided not to animate the Jinchuu Arc! I forgot to watch RK last night... Silly me...But I have the unedited version of it on DVD anyway. I just really wanted to see what they did to it.

Anime (US/CAN) General thoughts and ratings for .hack//SIGN 26, "Return"
DVL replied to Shy's topic in Otaku Central
6/10 As just a normal episode, I thought it was OK, but as an ending episode, I really didn't like it. It's like they just cut it off, they didn't tell you what happened to Morganna or Aura or Sora or anybody. And it bugged me. And as much as I hate to say this, I don't like what they did to Sora. He did what was probably the first unselfish thing he ever did in his life, and then they Data Drain him! That is not right! Grr!!!!!!!! But how is this so hard to understand, people? Sora got Data Drained. He's in a coma. He did not turn into Skeith because Skeith is the one who Data Drained him (which means that Skeith already existed). It's not really that complicated. As far as the evil Tsukasa, Subaru, and Mimiru go, I thought they were kinda pathetic. Interesting to see, but I can't believe the real Tsukasa, Subaru, and Mimiru could fall for it. It was incredibly obvious that they weren't the real people. I mean, when Tsukasa turned away from the fake Subaru I was expecting her to do an evil grin behind his back or something. Though the fake Mimiru melting (or whatever that was) was interesting. But I loved seeing the real Tsukasa and Subaru at the end! (Not the really sappy part where they're running for each others hands. That was just...WEIRD.) But I liked just SEEING them. Tsukasa IS a girl, we finally know. And Subaru has glasses (didn't know that...) And for some reason I like the way Bear looked in this episode...not sure why... Did anyone else catch the thing from Liminality with the A in C major right before they showed Tsukasa and Subaru in the real world? What was with that? -
I'm not crazy enough to think I could ever afford ALL the episodes. I have goals, though. Goal #1: Buy every episode with Aoshi in it. Goal #2: Buy all the rest.
Originally posted by Aoshi Shinimori The first time that BT meets Sora. BT talked to bear and bear said something like Maybe he is trying to get the member adress of beutiful ladies. BT just kinda done a Hmph thing. Thats why I thought they might like each other
*blinks* How does that part make you think they like each other? I didn't infer anything from that... And all you people stop insulting BT! Just because she doesn't let people walk all over her and is a little mean! Sheesh!
Originally posted by Cyke I like Linkin Park. Their songs, though sometimes repetitive, are quite enjoyable.
"Sometimes"? Is it just me, or do half of the songs sound almost exactly the same? Don't get me wrong, I love Linkin Park. They're one of my favorite groups. I really like the lyrics. Though, I don't see why you people like Hybrid Theory better. I love Meteora. Especially "Faint", "Breaking the Habit", and "Hit the Floor". And I liked "Nobody's Listening" because they managed to get a Japanese flute in it. I didn't think they COULD do that, flutes just don't suit them.

Funny, this was the question I had after I first saw that episode where Bear was lying with his head on BT's lap...because, yeah, it doesn't seem like they would do that too much if they were just friends...*confused* But I don't think they have a relationship. Considering the age difference, and the fact that they don't really act like it. I think they're just friends. And I don't think BT is a flirt. Except maybe where Crim is concerned...and she needs to lay off there, because even if I like her, she doesn't deserve him!
