I'm not sure if any of you remember me. I don't really expect you guys to. But I've been gone for about almost a year now. I've been working on a lot of artwork since I've left the OB, and came here recently to salvage some of my artwork from the past. While I'm here, I decided to see what type of criticism the members of OB could give me :). Here it goes... It's been awhile since i've been at the OB, and most may not remember me. I've been bored lately since there was a really big earthquake in Hawaii, and there's not much to do around here since roads are blocked. [SIZE=1]Well hello everyone. I haven't been active in awhile, but i guess i can kind of try to fit back in to the OB crowd again. Well, I just want you guys to know that i can help you out with anything. As long as it's keeping me busy i'm happy. So please, don't be scared to ask. [size=1]Hey, everyone. I've been off at other forums lately, and i also have been really caught up in school work and Halo. It's a fun game.. Very addicting though. I guess you guys can say that i'm officially back. I won't be online too much as of my grades have been slipping slightly. So i should be able to be on full time by the end of this month. I've made a couple of things that i thought would interest you guys so let me showcase them here. My thread is now open once again! [u][b]Elevate Me[/b][/u] Still recovering from the U2 concert. It was amazing. The quality in this piece is a bit messed up due to a mistake. This took a great deal of photomanipulation. From the advertisement on the top, torn posters on the bottom, the faces of the people, and the walls. Kind of different style for this one, I just ran with it. And the lyrics on the walls are Cookie Jar by Jack Johnson.[/size]

[SIZE=1]Wow.. I never used to like U2, but this concert blew me away. The dynamics of the songs, the dynamics of the lighting, the opening act, the energy on stage, the love for the audience, and the Bob Marley references.. All these elements formed together to become a kick *** U2 concert! What i also liked was the love for the Marleys! Damien Marley, and Stephen Marley, both performed as an opening act. Stephen and Ziggy Marley sound exactly like their father (Bob Marley) and Damien's music has so much soul in it. It was an inspiring performance especially when the Marley brothers covered "Is This Love" and later on U2 covered "Exodus", both songs by Bob Marley. The U2 performance was so lively and I absoloutely loved it! I'm just wondering if anyone else has seen either U2 or any of the Marleys live.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=1] [b]Sakurasuka[/b]: Sakura to be very truthful with you, I do not like this piece at all. If you had not mentioned that it was Green Day I would have not guessed what it was. The text is somewhat unclear, and it's hard to make out when there's a guy's face in the way. The black collides a bit with the faces and it all just seems really centered and cluttered. I've seen a lot of your works from time to time and they're great. But this piece definately doesn't have the quality that you've put out with all of your other works. [b]Doc[/b]: My, my. This piece is great. As Sean said everything seems flawless. I usually don't like the messy text but the message is very clear in this piece. I just think the main focal point in these pieces is in the text. With such a small canvas space you're going to need the text to stand out. And I feel that you made a great attempt at trying to make that happen. [B]Even though both pieces were good, I feel that Doc captured the theme a bit better than SakuraSuka and executed it well. This is just a picture of a halloween costume (Which i have seen before while shopping on the net) with some lousy text. Everyone clearly made my point so there's no need to further go on. [B]Sean:[/B] I'm not sure if it was the lack of time, or anything but this piece doesn't really appeal to me. It seems like you just twirled something and added broken text to it. Like Retri said, you are capable of so much better. Even though both your pieces were fairly bad,I think Sean's piece knocked Cheezy's out of the ballpark. [SIZE=1]Hello fellow members. It's been awhile since we've had an update and i'm just going to take some time now to inform everyone about what's going on in the Art Studio. Well we do have the [B]Official Otakuboards Graphic Tournament[/B] going on right now and it has been a pretty good display so far. No problems yet, except for a bit of delays but Dagger's trying to do her best. She's been working really hard on this and everyone should thank her once you get the chance. And one thing I would like to add is that I need some help. I want to start getting into Vector art, and if anyone knows any tutorials It will be greatly appreciated. I currently have Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, and I just need to know what other programs I will be needing for Vectoring, and i just need to learn the basics. But as Retri stated the text needs a bit of work. The texture and the hard to read Arial font is very hard on the eyes. But great work none the less! [B] Revue:[/B] Wow! I'm in total shock. This piece is unbelievably brilliant. All the vectors, the colors, the plane, the grid, the border, the text, my god! Bravo! I'm amazed that you were able to do this in what it seems like; 2 days [correct me if I?m wrong]. You are definitely going to have to teach me how to vector soon because it seems like it'll be very helpful in the future. You have a snowflake, and then you have the word "Snow" right beside it in small text. Not your best. Maybe you could've gone with something abstract with lighter colors? [B]Butterfly:[/B] It's great to see a new artist spread his/her (I don't want to make a mistake of stating the wrong gender) wings. Seems like all is well with this one. The stock is great the colors fit the theme well, but the only thing Ii have a problem with is the pixelation of the piece. If you're using photoshop, when you save it as a JPG, it should ask you what kind of resolution you want. I would suggest sliding the bar to the far right to [B]12[/B]. Maybe that'll fix you pixelation. Well overall i'm going to have to vote [SIZE=1]Butterfly[/SIZE]. You have a lot of talent and I would like to see you post more stuff on the boards. [/SIZE]

[SIZE=1][B]Retribution:[/B] I did not like you piece at all.. It seems like you rushed a bit and the end result came up very empty and hard on the eyes. The black text does not mix well with the dark red of "Guns" and is hard to read. I also did not like the glow effect you used for the [COLOR=DarkRed]"And the Mad Boy Walks With a Fist Full of Steel"[/COLOR] segment it too seems to not mix well and makes it very hard on the eyes. Overall this is probably one of your worst. [B] Domon:[/B] This one I don't like either.. The colors of the gradient background does not go well with the Gundam stock. And the stock is also very pixelated. The choice of text isn't too good. I don't fancy Comic Sans too much, and the Black is also hard to read throughout some parts of the piece. Even though I didn't really like any of these pieces, I'm going to have to vote for [B]Retri[/B]. Only because it seems easier to read and it's more clean.[/SIZE]
