[SIZE=1]I don't know the origin of this band but from what I hear on the radio, I don't like them. I wouldn't classify them as "Punk". I think they are more of an "Emotional Rock" band. Although I cannot tell the difference between the two genres now-a-days. I heard them at the VMA's and they sounded horrible live. I must say that "Helena" is a catchy song, but I don't consider it as a great one. It gets very annoying after the 20th scream. [/SIZE]

That's the name of the people who are hosting the party. You want them to know that "They're going to a Social Butterfly party". As for the girl.. She's my Uncle's girlfriend. Really pretty in person so everyone will recognize that it is her because my family knows most of the people in San Jose. As for the red bar. I think it was a good touch. At least some of that red/pink that is on the front of the flyer is on the back also. And as for the pictures. If we put pictures of people dancing no one will know who these people are. This flyer was made to attract the "Asian" part of San Jose. So we have a bunch of Asian people hanging out and just having an overall good time. This flyer was made for the Asian crowd because there is a large population of Asian people in San Jose and we need that crowd to make money. I hope that cleared some of your views. He was very involved in the OtakuBoard scene and he was the one who started to make us comfortable with GFX Battling. [B] Hiatus:[/B] Yes, the scanlines are way too dominant in this piece. Highten the opacity on the scanlines and also on the text you used. It seems to bend in too much making it hard to read. This is also a great piece and with a little improvements, you can make it really look nice. [B]Enter 2:[/B] Whoa, this piece makes me feel like i'm in a nightclub or something and lights are flying everywhere. So colorful and messy and i feel that the stock does not fit this piece at all. You really can't see too much emotion in his/her face and it sort of clashes with the fun background. And i do agree with Retri on all the typography. The lines and text don't mix, and the enter sign makes it hard to detect the emotion you are going for in this piece.I think if you just had a fun stock it would fit in perfectly. The slogans and everything are quite fun, and I also like the wording around the border. But, I feel that the abstract background is a big mistake. It seems like the abstract background is colliding with the text in a way, and kind of makes the poster seem a bit, hard on the eyes. There's just so much going on and it feels as if you want us to focus more on the background than on your clothing company. Some things I also noticed are that "Guaranteed" is spelled wrong on the lower left hand corner, and that you really didn't have a specific logo. This is a great idea but maybe if you included some symbolic image than it would've been so much better. [B][U]Imi:[/U][/B] I love this piece! The use of Ishida, the shade of purple, the box going straight through "Little Doom" on the left, the logo, and the scan lines are great. I really don't have any problem with the text. The only thing I can point out is that the "LD" right under the skull is pretty hard to see. I don't think you should've lowered the opacity on that, I think that you should have kept it on full opacity and put the skull logo on top of it. And also, that black border around the skull seems very pixelly and it kind of bothers me. Everything looks good and the things that I didn't like are just minor details. [U][B]Retribution:[/B][/U] Now this piece looks very professional. Very clean and to the point. Nice use of stock and typography. The color of the text is a bit light and hard on the eyes but it's not that big of a deal. I personally do not like Katie Holmes but that stock really suited the poster. This piece is probably the one that attracted me the most. I'd like to say good job to all of you for dishing out such beautiful work in such a short amount of time. You are all brilliantly talented and I hope to see more from every one of you. It's great how that side of the graphic is bursting with activity, but his expression stays calm and almost playful. But I'll agree with Doc that the font is blurred and fuzzy. Though, this might not have been able to avoid, so I can't bark too much on that one. [b]Helba[/b]- You seem to have chosen more of a light-hearted tone with fun little messages. The picture makes me giggle. It screams "bribery" and "desperate" at me. I personally like the border and imperfections; it looks more vintage and worn out. Which is basically how the situation of this war--it's getting worn out and played out. Thus, giving no motivation for new blood to circulate through the veins of the United States military forces. This piece delivers the message of how lately, it seems that the US has been trying to get the people to join the military, or at least try to help with getting this country above the surface. And it's funny because the US is considered the "big brother", yet it's having to struggle to keep its people from giving up ambition. Again, I agree with Doc on the usage of the font. It is out of place for the era of this picture. However, it's clear and vibrant. There's one thing that I can't get past; the "mmm" bubble. It just doesn't feel right at all. --This is most difficult to decide, for me anyway. The message of "propaganda" stands out firmly in both graphics. I was looking forward to seeing the message actually radiating from a graphic, and not necessarily the quality. Though, of course, the quality of the graphic is important; just not key. You both did an amazing job of flooding the graphic with a strong understanding of history and the meaning of propaganda. So, for the sake of the tourny, my vote has to rest with [b]Retri[/b]. The power behind the elements in your graphic blow me away. Helba, your graphic is absolutely brilliant, but it just didn't get enough of me. Phenominal job you two!
