Let's see here... Name: Xiao Age: 3 (human years. In cat years she's really about 15) Apppearance: Pale skin, short dark brown hair shot with red streaks, yellow eyes. Wears a long crimson tunic and black pants. Bio: Xiao was just your ordinary housecat, who enjoyed wandering the village and making friends. That is, until the darkness fell. Lots of different spells were floating around, making it dark. One of them hit Xiao, but instead of killing her, it just hurt her a lot. She was found by the wizard who rescued Toan, and when he tried to do a healing spell on her, she turned into a human(strange reaction, eh?). She wants to save the village if only so she can find her owners again, and she wants to go back to being a cat again. The wizard tried, but it seems that only the evil king can change her back. She's still very cattish, sly and playful, only eats fish and milk, and is excellent at tree-climbing. She's very talkative and inquisitive. She also knows very little about what humans do, and thinks that they have too much power for their own good. I hope this is okay! -
name: Lina Inverse age: 16 anime you're from: Slayers weapon: Sword, but she rarely uses it. She's better with magic. rank: ? Soldier, I guess appearance: bio: Lina is a skilled sorceress who loves treasure and food. She basically robs from the evil villans, and gives to herself. She has a firey temper, and is very self-conscious about her looks (so anyone making fun of them'll get a spell in the face... ouch!) Despite her shortcomings, she has saved the world many a time. She is also good with a sword, but better with her spells. She uses mostly black magic, but can do some white magic (like healing) too. society: Angel Knights

Sadly, like most people here, I cannot afford to get anime magazines very often. Which is a pity, because I really like reading them. I read Anime Insider whenever I have a spare 5$ and I see it. Which has only been twice- once last JULY, and then again this August. However, my friend buys Newtype and I get to borrow it when he's done, so that's cool. I've never read Animerica, is it good?

I actually saw this FOUR TIMES in the theaters. Yup, it was that good. I currently own the video and the soundtrack. I want to see the DVD extras sooo much! My favorite part was probably the very beginning, when they find the restaurant and Chihiro meets Haku. Not sure why, but that part just makes me tingle every time. I suppose it's because I wish something like that would happen to me. I used to hate Chihiro because she was something of a crybaby, but when I realized what she had to deal with, I let up on her a bit. I still like Haku best though.

Name: Niari Nickname: none Age: 16 Weapon: Laser Gun Appearence: Dark blue hair to her waist (she braids it), purple eyes. Wears a white ruffly tank top, jeans, black sneakers, dark blue cloak type thing. Bio: Once a fairly easygoing girl, she ran away from home a year ago with a boyfriend who said he loved her, stole her money, and left her a thousand miles from home, flat broke. She was left to fend for herself, joined a gang of low class robbers to survive, and became their leader within a month. She's fairly weak physically, but a perfect shot with a gun. Her hobbies include reading, learning languages, and breaking the heart of every man she meets as a type of revenge. She doesn't hate men, she just thinks that they should know the pain that she has felt. She's even tempered, unless some guy tries to flirt, in which case she'll either lead him on or rage out of control. She's a very serious person, who will rarely do anything for fun. She is driven by obligation, and sees each task as what she must do to survive. She never complains about anything. Her only goals are to live long enough to kill her ex, and find the happiness that was stolen from her one day. Mystical power: Levitation/flight (limited)

Yoshimi went to the park after school and sat on one of the swings, just thinking. It was nice that Mia came by yesterday. I wish she could've stayed longer, but I guess she wasn't feeling well. Maybe next time she can sleep over. She started rocking on the swing, pushing herself higher. Mia didn't talk to anyone all day. I hope nothing's wrong... Then, she made up her mind, and started walking towards Nisha's house. I know I don't have magic, and I know I can't help, but that's no excuse for her to ignore her best friends. And I'm going to tell her that. Encouraged by this, she started running, dropped her bag on Nisha's doorstep, and rang the bell.

OOC: So sorry if I'm late posting, but my mom grounded me for the weekend (no computer). Anyway... Kagome stared down the modern-day end of the well. "Knowing him, he won't be here for days, and I really wanted to- oh, never mind." she said to herself. "After all, it's not like I need an invitation. After the hot bath and the nap I took, I don't even remember what we were arguing about this time." She jumped into the well, and landed on a fresh pile of dirt. "Oh, yuck! How'd this get here?" she asked, brushing herself off once she had climbed out of the well. Suddenly, Shippo dashing through the trees towards her. "Kagome, you're back!" he said. "I knew you'd come back soon. I told Inuyasha, but he wouldn't listen to me." "Shippo, where is Inuyasha now? And where are Sango and Miroku?" Kagome asked. "Inuyasha's just walking, and I think Miroku's talking to some mean lady over there." Shippo answered. "She has something against demons, so I left." he added, pouting slightly. "Can you show me where?" Kagome asked, and Shippo started to lead her to the slowly growing crowd.

Name: Kagome Higurashi Age: 15 Gender: Female Race: Human Weapon: Bow and Arrows Appearance: Shoulder-length black hair, brown eyes. Usually wears her school uniform (which is a white shirt with a green collar and red tie, and a green pleated skirt). Bio: One day, Kagome fell into the Bone-Eater's Well, and was transported into the Feudal era, where she met Inuyasha. It was discovered that she held the Jewel of Four Souls in her body, and had it "removed" when Mistress Centipede bit her. She freed Inuyasha, and the jewel broke, and they had to find the pieces. She is the reincarnation of a priestess named Kikyo, who protected the jewel during her life.

Trixie practically floated downstairs and out of the hotel. "Oh glory!" she sang to herself. "No more school, no more homework, no more evil stepmother or stepsister, and no more Dad!" She faltered slightly. "Well, I oughta at least tell him goodbye. I'll write him a letter though, so I won't hear him yell at me." She pulled a pen and paper out of her backpack. "Hmmm, supplies are running low. I'll need more soon, or I won't be able to blow up a hat, much less a building." she said as she passed by Ace's car. "I wonder if that guy'd mind if I borrowed his car just to go to the post office." She opened the door, and stuck one of her special lockpicks into the ignition. "Twist, juggle, and- yes!" she yelled as the car started. "Now let's see, there was a post office about one mile back. I suppose I can just ask for directions if I get lost." She drove off down the road, when there was a yell coming from the backseat. "Oh crap... is there someone back there?"

Yay! I can't wait! I'm going with my friend Fluffy. It's at the same place as Shoujocon was, namely the Ryetown Hilton in Rye Brook, NY. This will only be my second one, so I'm still not sure exactly what happens at your typical con. But I'm definitely going to try cosplay. It's very fun, and lots of people want to take your picture if you do a good job. Then again, for someone who does not want to be recognised (like myself), that may not be the best idea. Oh, and if anyone did want to pre-register, the deadline is tomorrow, so you'd better hurry! I'd love to know who's going. Not that I really know anyone here, but just knowing that there are people who are going is cool. I can only go Saturday, because my mom would never let me miss school for a con, and I'll have to finish my homework on Sunday. Plus, train fare alone for two days would be about 50$, which I can't afford. But whatever, one day is sufficient. Or at least, it'll have to do.

Last year, I missed WAY too much school. I'm talking about thirty days. No, really. Most of this is because I'm prone to migranes, normal yet very bad headaches, stomachaches, the whole nine yards. Oh, and I've had a cold since I was seven. Really. Either that, or I'm simply allergic to school. That put me WAY behind in my work. I'm talking I-failed-most-of-my-classes behind. Had-to-go-to-Summer-School behind. Yeah, that kinda sucked. I absolutely HATED school last year. So when I wasn't feeling well, I really tried to stay home. Of course, I'd feel better by noon, but then I'd feel worse around five. Strange, eh? Now my mom isn't taking no for an answer, she just sends me off to school. Where I feel lousy again. Hey, maybe I AM allergic to school.

It was all over before Yoshimi had even gotten to the slide. Once again, I am completely useless to everyone. I'm surprised Nisha even still hangs around me. Probably feels she has to 'cause I'm her cousin. Then, she saw Nisha skating home. She was about to wave, when she saw Alex with her. Of course she would like Alex. She actually helps. She ran all the way home, and up to her room before her dad could see her, and ask what was wrong. Once Yoshimi reached her room, she flopped herself onto her bed and burst into tears. I hate them. I hate everyone with magic. She sat up, and walked to her computer. What am I thinking, of course I don't. That would mean I hate Nisha too. And I really don't hate Alex. I'm just... jealous, I guess. She started to type out an email to her friends, asking what had happened and if everyone was alright. But she couldn't stop crying.

Trixie had watched the sun rise with some feelings of apprehension. "Well, I suppose that this is it." she said to herself. "Either I kiss my whole life goodbye and join a bunch of weirdos in their insane quest to revive the Thieves Guild, or they don't want me and send me home to Dad, who'll have my hide for skipping out on dinner, and not coming back until morning. Honestly, I'm not sure which sounds less appealing. Wait- being killed by Dad is much worse. Not that these guys'll let me stay anyway. No, no, they'll never say yes with me being all negative. But I guess I'd better get it over with." She dressed quickly and went to join the others for breakfast. The young girl, Keth was talking to the the jet owner, Alex. "I'm older than both of them," she thought, "and yet they're both here with nothing holding them back." The guy who had snuck into her room was talking to the supposed mastermind, Ace. Trixie took a deep breath, walked over to them, and quickly gave Ace a shortened version of her previous night's plea to stay. She crossed her fingers behind her back, not daring to breathe until he have his answer.
Originally posted by Waterflash Well, I ALWAYS sing in the shower. Really loud, and not always good. The songs I sing VARY. And I mean VARY. I could be singing a japanese song one minute and an 80s song the next, and a regular pop song the next! It's scary...
Meet too! I often sing japanese theme songs, but it could just as easily be a goldies song or even a commercial jingle. Also, I am a terrible singer! So I turn the shower way up high, and hope that the water drowns out the noise of my awful singing! One thing I do woith songs that I really like is tape them onto a mini tape recorder- like the ones execs use to record thoughts and stuff. They're pretty cheap, portable, have built in speakers (or speaker), and you can tape anything- I usually do theme songs- on them, and listen anywhere. Even in the shower!

If you had supernatural powers what would they be?

I can see we have a bunch of guys in puberty here. However, I have no desire to see through YOUR clothes. I'd rather fly and/or teleport. I am always, ALWAYS late, and either of those would help. Or both, which would rock. I also do spells, and my most powerful are ones relating to the earth, and grounding. Oh, and earth is north, and related with money, grounding, and, uh, other stuff. *drinks more coffee* Maybe it's cause I'm an earth sign (Capricorn), but maybe cause I'm so airheaded, I need lots of grounding, and I'm getting better at it. Yoshimi had left Mia in the clinic and dashed bach to her classroom, where she ran to her desk and pulled out her bright rainbow umbrella. It's the closest thing to a kendo pole I'm allowed to have at school, and with Siaga and Matt showing open hostility to my friends, there was no way I'm gonna be caught without it. Then, she hurried back to the clinic to make sure Mia was okay, and instead she found Evean there. "Where's Mia?" she asked. "Come to think of it, where'd Nisha go? Did she get in trouble? I hope not, it was all those new kids' fault" Evean told her that Nisha had sensed a Clow Card, and hurried off to the Penguin Slide. Alex had gone after her. Once he was finished, Evean followed them. Once again, she goes without me. I'm really useless to her, aren't I? No magic or anything to be able to help her. Some best friend I am, can't even help a friend with what may be the most important thing she ever has to do. I can't help ANY of my friends. She ran out of the clinic and rushed to the Penguin Slide. But at least I can try.

I would like to strongly reccomend Artemis Fowl (whoever said that before, I love you!). This book (and its two sequels) are both fantastic and interesting stories, based on concepts that I'd never imagined (such as fairy technology). Also, it did something books rarely do nowadays- it actually surprised me. The plot I mean. Techically, I believe it's a childrens book, but it is still definitely worth a read. Also, you said you never read Harry Potter 5. By now I hope you have amended this mistake, but if ot, you should do so ASAP. It is extremely long, but it is not just words, it is a complex story that I don't think could be written any other way. Anyone who has a love of fantasy should read this. I actually HAD TO for school, but I would have read it anyway (of course!). This just makes school more fun. Finally, I'd like to reccomend A Wrinkle in Time, and all of the rest of the Time Quartet, to anyone who hasn't read them yet. I know that these are basically standrd reading for anyone who likes fantasy, but still some people don't read them, or only read the first one. This is a huge mistake, as all four books are separate tales of the same famly, and while I reccomend tht you read them in order, it isn't necessary to understand the plots. I could go on reccomending books all day, but the bell's about to ring, so that's all for now. READ THESE BOOKS!

"I know what you mean." Keth and Zen whirled around to fing Trixie behind them. "It's certainly more elaborate than any place I've ever been to." She noticed both Keth and Zen looked slightly uneasy. "Oh, I hope I'm not interrupting anything, I just had a question, and I was hoping someone might be able to answer it." "Well, maybe we can. Shoot." said Zen. "And preferably not with a gun." he added, glancing at Keth. Trixie smiled. A sense of humor made a person much easier to talk to. "Well maybe two questions. First, am I to expect strange people showing up at my window as long as I am in your company? Because I really hate being intruded upon." she said, directing the comment mostly at Zen, who simply shrugged. "My other question comes from that. Just how long should I expect to be in your company anyway? While this whole 'Thieves Guild' was sort of explained to me, I haven't really been invited into it. I was just under the impression that I knew too much and you didn't want me blabbing to my cop of a father, and that's the only reason I'm here. Well, I'm telling you right now, whether I go back or not, I'd rather swallow a cactus than tell him anything. But I think I can help you. I don't really deal with guns, but I'm a fair expert on explosives. Anything from smoke bombs to something that'll blow up a building. I'm a lockpick too, and a good jumper. I notice details, and I can dance if I have to. Oh, y yo hablo espanol tambien. That means that I speak Spanish too, 'cause I lived in Spain 'till I was seven and... never mind that." Much as Trixie was starting to like these people, she was in no way prepared to start spilling her past. "So anyway, am I in?" she asked her somewhat bewildered companions.
-
Thalia, now Trixie, observed her plush surroundings. It was unlike anything she had ever seen before. Then again, the whole evening was like something out of a dream. "Or maybe a nightmare!" she said to herself. "I botched what would've been the perfect robbery, I fell off a ROOF, my ankle is seriously hurting, I've been practically kidnapped by a mob boss' daughter and a group of theives, I have no idea how to get home, or even in dear old Dad would even let me after ditching dinner, and... thieves?" She paused, thinking. Suddenly it hit her. "Wait... I don't need to go home! I'm a theif too, same as any of these weirdos! And I'm sure they don't have an explosives expert yet. I mean, it's hardly easily obtainable info. They can use me... and I'll never have to go home." For a split second, she thought about how her father was before her mother left. "But that was years ago, Dad. You've changed. And so have I. You just never wanted to see it." She sighed. "Oh well. Goodbye Thalia Ventas, hello Trixie!"
-
"Well, of course I do! I mean, I've known you guys since about, oh I don't know... FOREVER!" Yoshimi told Mia. "But really, while I knew those two were strange, I had no idea they were spoiling for a fight! I wish I had my umbrella with me, or something. Then I would've taught those two a lesson." As she and Mia approached the clinic, Yoshimi asked "You sure you're gonna be alright? I mean, they really ganged up on you back there. Two on one is hardly fair odds, especially when the one is just minding her own business." "Yeah, but I'll be fine." Mia answered. "I'm sure you will be. But just the same, I'd feel better if I waited with you. Evean and Nisha can take care of themselves for a few minutes. Or at the very least, I think Evean can take care of Nisha. Let's just hope that what's-her-face the new girl and her cronie don't try anything again so soon." What's wrong with those two anyway? Yoshimi wondered? It's like they're only mean to us. Just to Mia, and Nisha and Evean and Harru I think. And me. But why just us? They only just came, so they can't know us. So then what's their problem?
-
"So Nisha, was it just me, or were those new kids acting really cold towards us?" Yoshimi asked her cousin as they ventured outside for break. "At first I thought they were just shy, like new kid jitters or something. But they were really icy, don't you think? If Mr. Maka wouldn't flip, I would've grabbed my umbrella and bopped them on their pretty heads!" Nisha didn't answer. "Hey, are you alright? I mean, yeah, they were weird, but don't let them freak you out." Still no reply. "Hey, if those two ever bother you, just let me know, alright? I don't care what Mr. Maka does to me, but I'm not gonna let them mess with you. Dad would never forgive me if I let anyone upset his favorite niece. You got it?" Just then they saw Mia with the new kids. Suddenly, the boy lunged at Mia. "Oh my gosh!" Yoshimi gasped, and she ran towards her friend.

Cons are very fun. At least, so I've heard. I myself have only been to one, and that was the recent Shoujocon in Rye, New York. Even though I only got to go for one day, it was a total blast! For those of you complaining that you never get to talk about anime with anyone, go to a con and you will have so many new friends. And I actually met someone at school TODAY who said he saw me there. Go figure! Maybe you'll get to know people you already thought you knew (or had no idea existed, as was my case). Anyway, please post how it was once you've gone. I had no idea there was one in Atlanta. Maybe my Grandma will go (hahaha). I wish I could go, but if you think Florida is far, try getting there from NYC! Also, cosplaying is very fun, especially when someone wants your picture, or says "Oh, you're so and so from this series!" It's a sign that you did a good job, and you don't look like an idiot ^_^

Yay Yay Yay!!! I've been waiting for someone to bring up this series, because it's one of my favorites. I'm not really sure why though. Perhaps because it's so simple. I mean you've got basically all stereotypical character types in there, from the bishounen to the clumsy but sweet main character, to her somewhat smarter best friend, and so on. I also rather like the magic aspect. Magic has always been one of my favorite anime themes, and I find the type of magic that the Magic Users... use, is quite original. I mean, who's seen magic wands with duck heads on the top before? Lastly, I find the characters not only sweet and endearing, but honest, with others and themselves. Each one is searching for their own answer, and while one member of the club may be less than fond of another, there is rarely any outward display of dislike. The people seem very supportive of one another, and they're honest about it. This isn't to say that everyone gets along all hunky-dory ('cause they DON'T), but they take it in stride, and it's all very sweet. But not overly so. For this, and many other reasons, Magic Users Club is one of my all-time favorites. Now all I need to do is get a DVD player so I can finally FINISH the series!!!

Distracted by the strange person headed towards her, Thalia lost her footing on the roof of the jewelry store, which was due to completely explode in just ten minutes, and plummeted to the ground, where she landed on a shiny black car. Its occupants stared as she quickly tried to recover from her fall, when she was grabbed by a tall guy in a blue sweater. "Oh crap, after all this and I get caught." she murmured. "Hey you, you should know that my dad's a cop, and he won't be happy if he finds me here!" she told her captor. To her surprise, the people looked more nervous than haughty. "Wait a sec- you're not cops, are you?" The man holding her gawked. "Do we LOOK like cops to you? Just who the heck are you, anyway?" Thalia studied the people. They really didn't look like cops- one of them was even younger than she was, and another was having continuous sneezing fits. "I'm Tha- Trixie" she said. "I'm Trixie. So who are you?"

I have never really told my friends that I even know what anime is, much less that I like it. Well, except for one friend (Fluffy), and I just told him recently. But truly, it's very different for me to actually be able to talk to someone about anime (Fluffy liked it in the first place). I have one other friend (Howl) who likes some of it (like Inuyasha and Vampire Princess Miyu), but she doesn't know that I like anime. The conversations I have with Fluffy and Howl are very different, even when the conversations are not anime based. Perhaps this is because I chose to confide my secret in one of them, but not the other. Perhaps I was already closer to this friend in the first place. But I think that I'm only ready to tell someone who likes anime in the first place, for fear of some of the things that happened to the people above. So if Howl ever gets past her Toonami phase (yes, I love Toonami, I simply think that that's not all there is to anime), then maybe I'll confide in her too. I almost feel like I'm in a club, and am only willing to admit that I'm in it to someone who already knows. People ridicule anime otakus because they think they can. The tease them the same reason anyone teases people- for control over them. Just don't let it get to you. Or, if you can't take the constant teasing, don't tell anyone. As they say, what they don't know won't hurt them ^_^
